(AN) Hello and welcome to the final chapter of Captain Grimes; hope you all enjoy.

In the last chapter, Amy and Rosa discover that Olivia Walters and Jo Myles have also been victims of Captain Grimes, who blackmailed them with nudes and raped them when they tried getting the photos to help bring him down.

Disclaimer: I don't own Brooklyn Nine-Nine; all characters and locations are owned by NBC, Fremulon, Dr Goor Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment.

Chapter Five

Amy and Rosa returned to the 99, where they quickly updated the rest of the squad about what they had learned.

"Good God," uttered a horrified Holt, "I was hoping this wouldn't get any worse, but it has. Diaz, Jeffords, get a warrant so that you and Officer Grey can sieze Grimes' laptop, which will hopefully contain all the evidence we need."

Terry and Rosa nodded in understanding before walking off.

Amy turned to look at Holt. "Sir, I'd personally like to speak with Grimes on my own."

"Ames, I think you've been through enough," said Jake gently, "I don't like the idea of you being anywhere near that creep."

"But this is important to me," said a determined Amy, "I need to show Grimes that he hasn't won and that I'm not his victim."

"I don't like the idea anymore than you, Peralta, but Santiago seems determined and I think we should let her." said Holt.

Jake let out a small sigh. "Okay, but if he tries anything, we'll be right outside."

"Thanks, Jake." said Amy before sharing a kiss with her husband.

Grimes was still sitting in the interrogation room when Amy suddenly walked in and sat on the opposite side of him. "Sergeant Santiago," he said in surprise, "You shouldn't be investigating me if you're meant to be the victim."

"Oh, I'm not here to interrogate you," said the brunette calmly, "I just wanted to let you know that my friends are close to taking you down for good."

"With what evidence?" asked the 64 captain smugly.

"I'm not at liberty to say," replied Amy, "I just came in here to let you know that you haven't won. You probably expected me to be too frightened to confront you, but the joke's on you."

"Whatever bogus evidence you have won't hold up," claimed Grimes smugly, "And when this is all over and I get my job back, I'm going to do everything I can to drag you, your husband and everybody else's names through the mud and take you all down. At the end of the day, you're just a silly little girl who wouldn't have gotten anywhere if it wasn't for me."

"If that's what you think of me, then you don't know me at all!" seethed Amy through gritted teeth, "I've gotten to where I am today through determination, hard work and support from my husband, my friends and a captain who sees me as an equal and respects me as a human being; they all see me that way. You on the other hand just see me and every other woman as objects; tools to be used for your own satisfaction. Goodbye, Grimes, it hasn't been pleasant."

And with that, Amy stood up and exited the room.

Jake, Holt and Boyle came out of the observation room and approached Amy; all smiling proudly.

"You okay?" asked Jake in concern.

"Yeah, I think I'll be fine; that really helped." said Amy.

"That was amazing, babe." said Jake as he and Amy hugged.

"Yeah, I guess so," sighed Amy, "I feel bad though for not reporting Grimes when I should have. Olivia, Jo and other women probably suffered abuse for years because of this guy."

"Well, I think you were brave for getting out of that place when you did," assured Holt, "As we've learned, things could have gotten far worse for you if you had stayed."

"Captain Holt's right." said Jake proudly.

"Yeah, looks like Jake didn't need to defend your honor after all." commented Charles, grinning.

"Huh?" said a confused Amy.

"When you were in the hospital, I told Jake he should defend your honor like David Sulmer from Straw Dogs. Get it, because … the main female character is also called Amy."

"Okay," replied the bewildered brunette, "Firstly, it's Sumner, not Sulmer, secondly, that's a dumb joke and thirdly, that's not really what happens: Amy never told David about what happened to her."

"I thought you didn't like that film?" said a surprised Jake.

"It's a horribly misunderstood film with flaws," said Amy, "and to be fair, Jake, you never properly watched it."

Jake smiled sheepishly.

Some time later, Jake and Amy were in their apartment. Jake was in the kitchen when his phone vibrated. The detective picked it up and answered. "Hello." he said.

"Hey, Jake," greeted Terry, "Put me on loud speaker, Terry's got something he needs to tell you and Amy about

Jake put his phone on to loud speaker and walked through to the living room, where Amy was sat on the sofa. "Terry's got some news." he said as he came to sit next to his wife.

"Go ahead, Terry." said the brunette.

"Me and Rosa found Grimes' laptop," began Terry, "There were a lot of encrypted files, but with tech's help, we got through and discovered dozens of images of women, including Walters and Myles. They're all nudes and there's some that are … very disturbing."

"That's brilliant," cheered Amy in triumph before realising how bad that sounded, "I mean, good that you found the evidence. So this means Grimes will get charged?"

"Hopefully," replied Terry, "IA still has a long road ahead of them: they need to identify the other victims in the photos; convince them to come forward; get a trial for Grimes and hopefully, he'll get the book thrown at him. On the bright side, Grimes has been suspended indefinitely from the NYPD."

"That's great news," said Amy, "I'll also be attending this trrial. I want to see that man go down so hard."

"Good to hear." said Terry.

"Terry ended the call.

Jake looked at his wife in concern. She seemed to be in complete shock.

"Hey, Ames, are you okay?" asked the detective in concern.

"I-it's actually over for him." muttered Amy in shock.

And without warning, Amy broke down into loud sobbing. Jake quickly wrapped his arms around her and held his wife tightly.

(AN) And that concludes Captain Grimes; hope you've all enjoyed.

This ending is the first one I'm fully proud of: it's simple; heartbreaking and effective.

Oh and in case anybody's wondering, I gave Straw Dogs a rewatch and ended up liking it a lot more, so thought it would be fun to mention it by revealing that Jake's never properly watched the movie and that Amy actually likes it.

The next B99 story I have in mind is set pre-Season 8, just after Mac's birth and will be called A World of Chaos. It'll show what happened leading up to THAT cold open in The Good Ones, but it'll still be fun.

Until the next story, this is TimeLordMaster108 signing out.
