Chapter 3

After learning that Andy was having his birthday today Medaka gathered everyone for a meeting

Medaka walks over to the podium which was a Playskool Tinkertoy container and stands Mike a speaker with a microphone attached clears his throat to get Medaka's attention and holds out his microphone

Oh, thanks, Mike. Medaka said

Medaka picks up the microphone and feedback is heard

OK...whoa, whoa. Step back. Medaka said

(Off-screen) For cryin' out loud. Gene said

Mike steps back until the feedback fades away

Thank you. Medaka said

Medaka blows into the microphone

Hello? Check. Is that better? Great. Everybody hear me? Up on the shelf, can you hear me? Great. OK. First item today. Uh...oh, yeah. Has everyone picked a moving buddy? Medaka said

The toys are surprised by what Medaka said

What? Zoidberg said

Moving buddy? You can't be serious. Gene said

I didn't know we were supposed to have one already. Zoidberg said

Do we have to hold hands? Bart said as he was holding one of his arms

The toys then laughed at Bart's joke

Do you guys think this is a big joke? Medaka said

Yeah. the other toys said

We've only got one week left before the move. I don't want any toys left behind. A moving buddy. If you don't have one, get one! Medaka said

Okay. the other toys said

All right, next. Medaka said

Medaka looked at her doodle pad to see what else she had to say

Uh, oh, yes. Tuesday night's plastic corrosion awareness meeting was, i think, a big success. And we wanna thank Mr. Spell for putting that on for us. Thank you, Mr. Spell. Medaka said

Mr. Spell typed the words You're Welcome to Medaka

You're…welcome. Mr. Spell said

OK. Uh, oh, yes. One, uh, minor note here. Medaka said

Medaka looked at her doodle pad again and read it quietly at something

Andy's birthday party has been moved to today. Medaka said

The toys are shocked by what Medaka said

What do you mean the party's today? Zoidberg said

I mean it's today. Medaka said

But his birthday's not until next week! Zoidberg said

What's goin' on down there? Is his mom losin' her marbles? Gene said

Well, obviously she wanted to have the party before the move. Medaka said

Why? Gene said

So he wouldn't complain. Medaka said

Medaka then turns to the other toys

I'm not worried. You shouldn't be worried. Medaka said

Of course, Medaka ain't worried. She's been Andy's favorite since kindergarten. Bart said

Hey, hey. Come on, Bart. Foghorn said

Bart looks at Mr. Spell pointing at Foghorn's butt then pulls out his mouth and taps his butt with it whilst Mr. Spell laughs

If Medaka says it's all right then, well, darn it, it's good enough for me. Medaka has never steered us wrong before. Foghorn said

Until today. Bart said

Come on, guys. Every Christmas and birthday, we go through this. Medaka said

But what if Andy gets another alien lobster, a mean one? I just don't think i could take that kind of rejection. Zoidberg said

Hey, listen, no one's getting replaced. This is Andy we're talking about. It doesn't matter how much we're played with. Medaka said

Medaka gestures Mike to move to him since the microphone's wire is stretched too far

What matters is that we're here for Andy when he needs us. That's what we're made for, right? Medaka said

Pardon me. I hate to break up the staff meeting but...they're here! Birthday guests at three o'clock! Gene said

What? Medaka said

(Screams) Zoidberg screamed

All of the toys start to freak out after hearing what Gene said

Stay calm, everyone! Medaka said

The toys then run to the window passing Medaka in a panic

Hey! Medaka said

Mike even joins in the panic taking the microphone out of Medaka's hand

Uh...meeting adjourned. Medaka said

The Toys then gets to the window to see what's going on

Ho, boy! Gene said

What? Bart said

Will you take a look at all those presents? Gene said

I can't see a thing. Bart said

Bart picks out his two eyes and lifts them above the toys to see Andy's friends bringing in presents

Well, Gene? Foghorn said

We're fodder. Gene said

What? Foghorn said

Yes, sir, we're next month's garage sale fodder for sure! Gene said

Oh. Foghorn said

Any alien lobster-shaped ones?! Zoidberg said

Oh, for crying out loud. Gene said

What? Zoidberg said

They're all in boxes, you idiot. Gene said

I know that. Zoidberg said

Good. Gene said

Zoidberg looked and saw the kids carrying big presents

Uh oh. Zoidberg said

What is it Zoidberg? Gene said

They're getting bigger. Zoidberg said

Calm down. Gene said

Sorry. Zoidberg said

Wait, there's a nice little one over there. Foghorn said

Hi! the child said

The boy holding the present turns to the other kid, revealing his present to be really long and making the toys panic all toys scream in the process

Trash can. Mr. Spell said

We're doomed! Zoidberg said

Oh my god. Medaka said

Medaka looked at the toys who were all panicking about the presents until she had enough

All right! All right! If i send out the troops, will you all calm down? Medaka said

Yes! Yes! Zoidberg said

Promise? Medaka said

We promise! Zoidberg said

OK! Save your batteries. Medaka said

Very good, Medaka. That's usin' the old noodle. Gene said

Why thank you, Gene. Medaka said

You're welcome. Gene said

Medaka jumps onto Andy's bed and looks at a small green sarge toy

Sergeant? Medaka said

Yes, Ma'am? the green sarge toy said

Establish a recon post downstairs. Medaka said

Of course. the green sarge toy said

Code Red! You know what to do. Medaka said

Yes, ma'am! the green sarge toy said

The green sarge toy jumps down from the table and onto one of the drawers

All right, men. You heard her. Code Red! Repeat, we are at Code Red. Recon plan Charlie. Execute! the green sarge toy said

Yes, sir! the green soldiers said

Good. Now let's move! Move, move, move, move! the green sarge toy said

The Green Army Men jump from the bucket and head out the door, carrying some rope and a baby monitor with them

Is this gonna work? Bart said

It'll be fine. Medaka said

A few minutes later

The green sarge toy looks over the landing with his binoculars to see Andy and his friends heading for the living room to begin opening presents and his mom heading to the kitchen

OK, come on, kids. Everyone in the living room. It's almost time for the presents. Mrs. Davis said

The green sarge toy motions two parachuters to jump and open the parachutes to glide down to the floor they look around the hall to make sure no one is around and signals for the rope to be lowered and the rest of the Army Men slide down the rope to the floor as the toys move over to the lamp table where Medaka is setting up the monitor

All right, gangway, gangway. Gene said

And THIS is how we find out what is in those presents. Medaka said

Cool. Gene said

The Army Men walk across the hall when they heard Andy's mom coming

OK, who's hungry? Mrs. Davis said

The green sarge toy and his men all froze after hearing Andy's mom was about to come in

Here come the chips. I've got Cool Ranch and barbecue! Mrs. Davis said

Andy's mom comes out of the kitchen and steps on one of the Green Army Men crushing him with her foot

Ow! What in the world...oh! I thought I told him to pick these up. Mrs. Davis said

Andy's mom kicks them away with her foot and moves on

The toys were all waiting for answers in Andy's room right now

Shouldn't they be there by now? What's taking them so long? Zoidberg said

Hey, these guys are professionals. They're the best. Come on! They're not lyin' down on the job. Medaka said

I guess so. Zoidberg said

Good. Medaka said

Good? We'll see Medaka as she and the toys are waiting for answers as to what's inside those presents stay tuned
