The day comes and I am so nervous . I know that I may have to leave abnegation because I am not selfless enough but I am still nervous . The rule says that we can't prepare for the test anyway so I don't know what to expect.
I just can't make sure that I know how to do when I am in the test. I wake up super early and can't fall asleep. I dress up nicely and walk to the balcony.
"Celeste?" Ted is standing in the yard looking upward at me .
"I am fine ." I shake my head . "Don't need to worry. Why are you even here?"
"I am here to see you again." Ted says . "Can I come up."
He starts to climb without I give permission. Dauntless are great at physical strength.
"It is so dangerous." I roll my eyes . "You can come in from the door ."
"We trained to do this in dauntless so I don't care . I don't want to wake your family up anyway." Ted sits down. "How are you doing this morning."
"Good ." I say. "How are you doing anyway ."
He bites his lips . I know that he isn't doing good without me
"I miss you. I don't want to work for max again. I want to stay with you." Ted grabs my hand . "You know that I have feeling for you."
"Ted I am not coming to dauntless." I say . "You have to go back."
"You are going to stay in abnegation?" Ted raises his eyebrows . "I can stay with you too."
I am more frustrated now . Is all dauntless man like this ?
"No Ted please, I have my own life and you should have your own." I shake my head
The door opens and mom comes out. Ted stands straight again
"I am sorry ms prior ." Ted lowers his head
"It's fine Ted . I know that you miss Celeste and the family. You can have breakfast with us ." Mom smiles at him. "Can I please talk to my daughter now ?"
"Sure ms prior ." Ted leaves the balcony and enters the room
Mom and I sit down with each other and she looks at me kindly.
"I have something to say." Mom holds my hand . "Something that you may not like."
"Oh okay go ahead ." I say
"You have to leave abnegation. I told Ted about this already. Something about your past is hidden behind ." Mom says . "You have to go to dauntless in order to find out."
I open my eyes wider . Why I have to leave for dauntless? Why I can't stay in abnegation?
"Why mom? What's wrong with my past?" I feel nervous
"You are not from here " mom says . "Or even me but our memories are all erased . The second stage of the training may reveal your lost memories."
"Why mom? How do you even know this?" I am shocked . "You weren't born abnegation!"
Mom doesn't say anything. She stands up. I know that she isn't suggesting this . She is commanding this
"You have to go." Mom says firmly.
"Sure mom I will go." I bite my lips . "Does dad knows it?"
"He will never know . He can't know ." Mom shakes her head . "I am trying to protect everyone "
I am a dangerous person then if she is pushing me away.
"Sure mom." I say sadly. "I will do as you say."
"Go have breakfast now ." Mom claps my shoulder. "I love you always ."
We leave room together . Ted follows us downstair . Dad is making breakfast today.
"Morning ted , you are back . How is the job selection?" Dad smiles at him. "I heard that you get the good one."
"I am gonna be the instructor ." Ted sighs . "Alongside with Alan Davis ."
"Who is Alan Davis ?" I ask
Dad and mom look at me . Ted sits down beside me
"He is the youngest lieutenant in dauntless and cold blooded one as well." Ted shrugs. "He is a nice man sometime and sometime doesn't."
"Oh okay sure ." I shrug. "I think that is normal with dauntless just like sometime you have good temper but sometime that you don't."
"Oh come one Celeste . What is that have to do with me ?" Ted rolls his eyes .
I giggle . Beatrice and Maria laugh with us together .
"I have to go after breakfast. Any of you come with me ?"i tap my finger on the table
"We all go." Beatrice and Maria raise their hand . "We want to be there for you."
"Thank you sweetheart. Where is Caleb." I look around
Caleb isn't anywhere . He will not go anyway.
"He is upstair doing his homework . He will not go." Beatrice sighs . "That's fine . We will support you."
"He is at Susan's house ."
