If you see anything off, grammar wise...please do tell.

Enjoy!

They were driving, on their way out of the city. In silence Maia stared out the window. Watching the houses pass them by. Houses of people, innocent humans, just living their lifes. Unknowing of what was about to happen.

"Where to." Dante's gruff voice interrupted the silence.

Maia jolted slightly in her seat. Startled by the sudden break of silence. She looked over to Dante and watched him carefully. He stared out the windshield, eyes fixed on the road; his expression hard and not giving away his thoughts.

She frowned a bit. Was he angry…upset with her for what happened in the alleyway? She had just not been sure about the situation, which is why she looked unsure just before he could kiss her. With everything that has been going on these past few days, and for her just becoming more relaxed in her human form…he should know it was strange for her to engage in anything physical, right? Besides… she couldn't even remember if she had ever kissed anyone…not even in her mortal life. Of which she had practically no memory. How could he expect her to be okay with it…

Maia's frown grew deeper. She felt a little bit of anger flaring up inside her stomach and glared at him.

"Maia, where to?!" He said a little bit impatient now.

"Just drive out of the city, towards the forest on the westside. Drive around it, until you see the cliffs and an open plain. There are no houses there." She directed her eyes away from him. Staring out the side window again.

He heard the edge in her voice and smirked inwardly. Women. How in the world did he manage to surround himself with all these female friends. Wait…was he the kind of guy women friendzoned…?! This thought dumbfounded him for a split second but then he chuckled. Nah.

Maia's ears perked up hearing a chuckle from her driver. Seriously…he was laughing at this situation now? After acting the way he did. Men!

"Alexander." Rhea called, standing outside the cave. It had been their hide out for the past…well for a long time. "Alexander?"

A shadowy figure came walking out of the darkness of the cave. He removed the hood he had been wearing, revealing his angelic face. Yet…there had not been anything angelic about him in a long time. Rhea knew this. And ever since her encounter with her sister Maia, she had her doubts about their plans. Or rather…Alexander's plans. And now with Nergal informing his brother about Maia, she had been listening in on their conversation,…Rhea just had a bad feeling about it all. She had to at least try and discuss this with her master. The one who had saved her life so many years ago…or had he? Her thoughts and memories were all messed up.

She fought away the urge to squint her eyes as she felt another sharp sting of pain going through her head.

"Rhea…have you spoken with her?" Alexander asked, his brow furrowed.

She nodded her head slowly, recollecting herself, before answering. "Yes I have."

"Good…good…" he said, scanning Rhea's face. He wanted to be sure the memories he implanted were still intact. Upon seeing Rhea seemingly calm and collected, he was reassured she was still under his control. It would only be a matter of time before Nergal would capture Maia, try and claim her soul…and that is when he would step in. He would use his angelic powers and lure the soul away, claiming it himself. He had to be fast though, there would only be a short window of time. Trying to claim a soul would leave the claimer vulnerable for a short period of time. In that moment he would have Rhea attack Nergal, so he was left to do his little trick. Claiming Maia's soul would give him enough power to destroy Nergal easily. Then he would claim Rhea's soul and head up to face the elders, demanding they would give him the reign over the human world. In that position he could finally get control over life and death. He would make some major changes for those feeble weak little humans…lots of them he would leave for the prince of darkness, for most of those file creatures didn't deserve a spot in HIS kingdom. And his brothers and sisters would kneel at his feet, treating him like the God that he is. He grinned darkly overthinking his plan, but then got brutally interrupted when Rhea cleared her throat.

"Sir I'm sorry to interrupt…"

He glared at her, frustrated. "What…is it…" he spat at her.

She cringed. "I'm sorry sir, but…there is something that you need to know."

He felt a bit uneasy as she said this. He narrowed his eyes. "Out with it then…"

"When I found Maia, she was about to be escorted away by a demon." Alexander grinned, perfect. "Not Nergal…" Rhea hastily added, noting his grin; it faded.

"Who then?"

"It was his brother. Apparently they have shared interests in Maia's soul. I'm afraid…I'm afraid that they are up to something. I told you before that you should not put your trust in a demon, sir."

Alexander trembled with anger upon hearing this. "They are planning something? What then? Did you find out?" he demanded, taking a step forward. Rhea took a slight step back.

"I'm afraid they are after more than just Maia's soul…sir." Rhea looked down as she said this.

Alexander clenched and unclenched his hands. Smoke almost coming out of his nostrils. "This is outrageous! If that is true we have to move fast." His head was going into overdrive, trying to rewrite his plan. If there were two demons to take care of, his plan would not work, for Nergals brother would surely secure the claiming of the soul. "Where is Maia now?"

Rhea watched her master carefully. Seeing him this angry was calculated, yet she wondered why he was so interested in Maia, for he wanted Nergal to take her, right? Should they not move to inform their family that they were in danger? They were still part of that family…right? Come to think of it…she hadn't been up there in a long time. She cringed as her head hurt again, but luckily Alexander didn't notice as he was too worked up in his own mind.

"Maia is moving away from the city. Trying to lure the demons away from the innocents. The devil hunter Dante is with her."

This made Alexander frown and smirk. "Ah yes…the son of Sparda. He could come in handy…" he mumbled. He shot Rhea a glare. "Come with me. We've got work to do."

Dante parked the car a bit away from the plains, and as he did so, Maia stepped out of the vehicle. She crossed her arms and glared as she watched him get out of the car.

"We're not there yet." she stated.

"Yeah yeah, I know. Thought we could use a walk. Plus…Don't want anymore collateral damage…" he said as he patted his car, hinting at the windows of his shop.

Maia snorted and started to walk in the direction of the plains. He watched her back for a few moments. Her hair swished slightly from left to right with every step she took. The white pair of really short shorts Lady had bought for her really made her legs stick out. And the black laced up boots gave her angelic appearance just a little bit of an edge. Just like her attitude. Dante smirked.

"Hey babe." He called out and trailed after her.

Maia slowed her pace just a little bit, so he could catch up. She tossed him a side glance as he appeared next to her. His arms up, hands folded at the back of his head. How could he be so relaxed? It agitated her further. He clearly stepped over the alleyway incident easily and had forgotten all about it. Plus…did he not know what was coming? Where they were headed? With Alexander and Nergal probably hot on their tail… and with her family coming down and everything…they would be in grave danger. A lump formed in her throat.

"So grumpy…what's gotten into your panties huh?"

Her hands folded into fists and she came to a halt. Dante grinned and watched her as she tried to keep her calm. It fascinated him that he could get an actual angel worked up like this.

"Seriously Dante?" She mumbled.

"What?" he asked, acting like an innocent devil and winked at her.

He winked at her. Actually winked at her. That really struck a nerve.

"What the hell Dante!? Have you not been listening to anything I've said back in the city? There's going to be a huge fight and there's a lot at stake here. If Nergal and his brother actually get a chance at collecting the souls of even a few of my family members, it will give them power beyond your belief." She exclaimed.

Dante folded his arms and looked at her. Were her cheeks a little flushed right now? He'd never seen that before. He must've really pushed her. "I know." he said casually.

She snorted and shook her head in disbelief. "You know? You know…" she repeated, dumbstruck. He didn't seem nervous at all. "I'm serious Dante. A big fight."

He chuckled. "That's what I'm hoping for." He grabbed hold of his gun and twirled it around, catching it again. "I'm in for a party. "

"Pah…party." she said. She mumbled in disbelief. She knew he was strong, but his carefree attitude was really something.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. I've got you covered." The shocked expression on Maia's face didn't weary.

"Don't call me sweetheart." She growled, and started walking again. "Or babe."

Dante followed her. "Ah come on. Are you nervous? Or are you still mad 'cause you chickened out earlier." The latter was more of a statement than a question.

Maia turned around, wide eyed. She felt her cheeks flush. "I did no such thing. "You pulled away!" She accused and pointed a finger at him.

He laughed and held up his hands in defense. He got her right where he wanted her. "So you didn't want me to, huh."

Her face fell and she stared. How did she end up here. "I…"

"Well well…that's really something…An innocent little angel with a dirty mind." He said. He had his hands folded behind his back as he slowly started to circle her. It made her nervous. Not the bad kind, but it didn't feel good yet either. He had won…how did he win this. She felt foolish.

Her mouth opened, but no words left her lips.

"You know, we could easily fix this." Dante said as he stopped right in front of her, smugly looking down.

Maia narrowed her eyes a bit and looked up at him from under her eyelashes. He would have to make the first move. There was no way in hell she'd…

She didn't get a chance to finish her train of thought. Dante had put a hand on the small of her back and pulled her in close. Her chest collided with his and as his lips brushed hers, all logic went out the window. She opened her mouth as if she knew what she was doing and Dante gratefully accepted entrance. Her arms snaked up behind his neck and she groaned weakly, responding to him.

Dante responded by biting her lip and kissing her again. His other gloved hand now stroking her side. This earned him a gasp and she whispered his name ever so softly against his lips. He growled, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her up, so she could wrap her legs around him. And she did. God those long, slim legs. His hands trailed along them, such soft skin, coming up at her sides. One hand grabbed her by the back of her head, fingers traveling up her hair, pulling her in for another kiss roughly. This was getting more heated.

He thought he was going insane.

She was responding just exactly how he wanted to and more. God he wanted her there and then. Against that tree, on the ground in the dirt or on top of his car, he didn't care. If only they had the time. Damn it. She had been sleeping in his bed for two days straight. Why hadn't he acted before? He needed to get control of this situation fast before it got out of hand and they would be ambushed by that asshole demon in a very awkward position.

He broke the kiss. Catching a breath. One hand now under her very nicely formed butt, the other in her hair holding a fistfull of the silky white blonde strands, holding her back. He looked at her in her big brown eyes, which stared at him with the same look of desire his probably held. She breathed just as heavily as he did.

He really had to get a hold of himself, but how could he when she was looking at him like she was ready to… Damn it, damn it all to hell.

It took every bit of his self control to start talking. "We…better get going." he breathed.

She breathed heavily, chest rising up and down, as her eyes inspected his face. "Yes…I think you're right…" she said with that soft melodic voice of hers. She failed miserably at masking the disappointment.

He let out a breathed chuckle. She wanted him just as much as he wanted her. Dirty mind alright... His eyes turned dark of mischief and a smirk covered his lips. "Let's get this thing over with so we can pick this up later."

She unwrapped her legs and he picked her up easily, setting her back on the ground. He started walking towards the plains again, shaking his head. "To bad there are nog cold showers here…"

Maia needed a couple of seconds to recollect herself, before she ran after him. If there was such a thing as a goodluck kiss…that would've surely done the trick.
