"RIIIIIIIIN !" The frantic call jolted both Rin and Granny Kaede from their sleep. Rin quickly covered her yukata with a light hioari before dashing outside to investigate the commotion. "What's wrong?" Rin asked. "It's Tuma she's in labor and she's bleeding out a lot of blood". Her husband explained frantically. Without a second thought Rin grabbed her supply bag and dashed out the door. Once she reached Tuma's hut she was met with the painful screams of the woman in labor and the worried cries of her loved ones. Rin entered the home and sat down at the feet of Tuma so she can access the situation. Rin lifted up the kimono covering Tuma's lower half and quickly determined she was hemorrhaging if she didn't act fast both mom and baby will be gone. "Tuma I need you to breathe in and out for me. Once we get your heartbeat down and you more relaxed we can start the process of getting that child out of you safely." Tuma nodded and began to close her eyes and breathed softly. "Good Tuma keep taking deep breaths and visualize you holding your newborn". Just then a figure quickly sat down next to her. With a quiet sigh of relief Rin welcomed Kagome's presence. Both ladies worked endlessly to ensure that mom and baby had a safe delivery.

Rin was forever grateful as well as the rest of the village for Kagome. Her "future world" of Tokyo taught her many things about medicine and nursing and Kagome gladly took on the task of being one of the main village healers. Rin studied under both Kagome and Sango for the majority of her years in the village. After what seemed like hours the anxiety of the little hut was comforted by the cries of a healthy baby girl. Rin cleaned up the newborn while Kagome stitched up and closely examined mom. Tuma and her daughter Mei are expected to have a speedy recovery. The women's family forever grateful to the young maiden Rin and Kagome. As Kagome and Rin went to exit the hut Rin glanced back one last time at the young family. Will that ever be me? Rin thought to herself.

"Rin you did so well!" Kagome squealed excitedly. "I mean it I'm so proud of you. You stayed calm and didn't miss a beat. I can't get over what a wonderful young woman you've grown up to be." "Kagome, can I ask you a question?" Rin asked quietly. "Of course you can Rin, what's going on?" "How-how did you know that your home was here? What gave you the strength to leave everyone you knew and cared for in the future world?" Kagome took a moment to pause and observe the young maiden before her. For the first time Kagome noticed the sadness in Rin's big brown eyes. How have I never noticed this before. Her eyes, although they illuminate so much light it is nothing but a facade a mask to cover up her true feelings. Oh Rin I'm so sorry I never stopped to really see your pain. " Well for me it was easy. I loved my friends and family, and I definitely miss luxuries such as TV, hot showers, and cellphones, but deep down I knew it was no longer the place for me. Inuyasha was my home. I knew I would never be whole without him. Why what's on your mind"? And with a heavy sigh Rin explained her intentions to Kagome. "I have never truly felt at home here. I am forever grateful for granny Kaede, my friends in the village, and of course you, Inuyasha, Sango, and Kohaku, but I feel as though it's time for me to walk my own path. Had the choice been up to me all those years ago I would've never stayed here." Rin began to cry as Kagome wrapped her arms around her and escorted her back to Kaede's hut. "Well, Rin.What is the path you want to walk"? Kagome inquired. "I don't know, but I think it's time for me to find out."
