Happy New Year to all!

Let's help me accomplish my resolution this year to finish some of my stories.

The next morning I was excited about school.

I grabbed the note my dad wrote to get me out of my last classes on my way out of the house.

He didn't give a lot of information just that I was excused for the last two classes of the day and they could call him at work if they had a question along with his signature.

I smiled they wouldn't call him at work he knew that.

I parked in front of the office and went in to give my note to Mrs cope.

"Okay dear, you may leave after your 5th class."

"Thanks, Miss. Cope I'll have lunch first to make sure I have something in me before driving. Thank you." I smirked as I walked out of the office.

I knew they would all think it was a medical thing. I realized I was running a bit late and hurried out of the truck once parked and I dropped my keys as I struggled to put my backpack on.

I huffed and as I bent down to get my keys I looked up shocked at Edward's crooked grin and deep honey eyes as was leaning against my truck my keys dangled on his finger.

"Oh, I forgot." I laughed without humor to stop my racing heart. I forgot he was to show up before I went to class.

"Forgot what?" He asked confused.

I shook my head "Nothing, H..how did you do that?"

I was pushing through the fog in my brain to get this memory of the dream.

"Do what?"

"Pop out of thin air?" I asked with a smirk.

"It's not my fault your unobservant."I rolled my eyes. Oh, he'll regret those words.

I crossed my arms narrowed my eyes and stared at his nose to help me focus and not get lost in his eyes.

"What was with the traffic jam yesterday?"

"That was for Tyler's sake not mine I had to give him his chance." I ground my teeth. I already knew he had done it on purpose of course still upsetting. especially when this time round around told him I wasn't going and he knew I had plans.

"So you want to make a joke out of my life, for what to entertain you and your family is your life so boring?"

I was holding my hands in tight fists Edward had told me he had done this to see if I would say yes but I think he was bored sometimes I think he enjoyed seeing my reactions.

"Don't be absurd I'm not trying to make a joke of you."I grabbed my keys from him and walked away.

He called out for me.

I stopped and took a deep breath then I smiled hugely as I remembered something I had said.

"I wanted to ask you something but you distracted me."He said. I turned and tried not sure I succeeded in looking innocent.

"Are you bipolar or have a multi-personality disorder?"

"You're doing it again," he stated

"It's a fair question, but Ask away," I smirked.

He was going to ask here it is. I need to play the part come on Bella Play the part. I believe Im to be angry thinking he's joking at first then shocked.

"Well, I was wondering about Saturday the day of the Dance..."

"Are you trying to be funny? You are making fun of me." I interrupted.

"Will you allow me to finish?"I took a deep breath. I was feeling what I had before anger at him. He was playing with me. I knew in a way he wasn't yet the way he acted the way he said things and his smirking face. I was so frustrated sometimes and so sure he was always making decisions and telling me what to do. I wanted to hit his perfect face.

"I heard you say you were going to Seattle, well was that true or a lie to not hurt your admires feelings?"

"I told Tyler off, I didn't think of his feelings," I muttered. I had felt guilty later for how I had all but crushed Tyler.

"Yes well."

I took a shaky breath. "I had planned to go to Seattle."

I looked at him then froze his deep golden eyes left me and walked closer to me close enough his breath fanned across my face my brain became jumbled.

"Will you spend the day with me?"

I nodded without really thinking he smiled and I smiled back happy I had caused him to be happy the smile reached his eyes and they lit up.

"You really should stay away from me." He warned.

"I'll see you in class." Then he turned and left.

I blinked a few times trying to unjumble my mind he always gets me. I frowned. Then I remembered I was late for class.

Mr Mason was not amused. He noted my lateness I mumbled a sorry. I went through my classes in a daze, unsure if I had done things right, Today was meant to be Edward asking to take me to Seattle and then having lunch where he told me he was ditching, Then I felt sick in the bio where he found me and he learns I get sick from the smell of blood He drives me home and he learns a bit about me.

It won't happen now as I will not be going to class.

I bit my lip was that the right move? I just didn't want to get sick, if He had told me why he was skipping the first time I would have skipped then. I walked into lunch, and I got water but there seemed to be nothing edible It was appalling.

I sighed. I guess no lunch today I wasn't that hungry I could wait till dinner.

I took a deep breath as I paid for the water then looked up. I scanned the tables I saw and Edward sitting at a table alone. I put on a smile remember Bella this Edward has so far only avoided you for your safety and only let boys ask you out for his peace of mind.

He has not been trying to be controlling He has not done anything stupid yet Don't be mad at this Edward has not Dream Edward.

I was lost in my mental talk to the long cause he was giving me a curious look and his brows were pulled together.

Walking over and sitting beside him I opened my water and took a sip.

I looked at his plate and frowned he got french fries and a corn dog. He doesn't even eat.

"No lunch today?" He asked.

I looked at him and then to the cafeteria stating "They had nothing remotely edible when I looked." I sighed

I looked at his tray again.

I shrugged "I'll when I get home."

"I'm not hungry you can have mine."

"No couldn't," I said quickly maybe too quickly cause I knew he would offer its a gentlemanly thing to do, and to make matters worse my traitorous stomach spoke up.

I looked to the trader and then to Edward and blushed.

"Here." He smiled and pushed his tray to me.

"Thanks." I took a fry.

"So what will you be doing this weekend?"

"What friends ask what friends are up to you know."

"My brother Emmett and I are going camping we are starting the weekend out early. I won't be in school tomorrow."

"That will be fun, Well as long as you lighten up?" I smiled

I remember Emmett telling me about this trip Edward had as well stating he spent it worrying over me but Emmett stated it was a lot more melancholy than Edward had made it sound.

"Lighten up?" He was taken aback.

"It would be fun to hang out with Emmett as long as the person can take a joke." I shook my head. "If it's just you and Emmett going I feel bad for him."

"What why?"

"You can't can't a joke you too uptight," I smirked and looked to his siblings Emmett was trying not to laugh aloud.

"Take Jasper or Alice with you, just be sure to be back for Sunday of course." I smiled. I wasn't sure when exactly the dates were but I also remember that Edward had said Peter and Charlotte had visited around the time I went to the beach with my friends.

"We'll be back for school."

I smirked "You don't have to worry about school, be more fun if you back in time. well, maybe not for you but again you need to relax and let loose a bit. ill be fine and I'll see you next week sometime." I shrugged.

"My family and I enjoy camping we will have fun." He said tightly upset obviously over the uptight comment.

"I'll see you Monday"

I shook my head.

"No, sadly you won't be here Monday that's okay though. You'll see." I looked at Alice and winked.

"Wait, what do you mean? Will you not be here next week?"

"So, since yesterday I've been thinking more about what you could be," I said as I changed the subject taking the cap of my water and spinning it. I looked through my lashes to see his jaw tight.

"Are you having any luck?" He asked.

I shrugged.

"Nope." I popped the p and chuckled

"What are your theories?"

"No"

"You know how frustrating that is?"

"Oh no, I can't can't how frustrating it must be."I looked at my water and took a sip.

"So maybe one theory I was thinking maybe like Superman."

He didn't say anything at first then he spoke.

"Superman is that all?"

"Spiderman?" I said next

"No" He chuckles "That's not very creative."

I shrugged.

"You're not even close."

"No radioactivity?"

"Nope,"

I smirked. I thought of saying bite but knew better.

I knew he would find it too funny to dwell on anything else I have also the reason he was making it himself to hang out with me was to make sure I didn't find out. It was a stupid reason it had no Maret of course.

"I'll fill it out." I teased.

"I wish you wouldn't."

"Because..."

"That's all hero that stuff. What if I'm not the superhero? what if I'm the bad guy?"

I looked him in the eyes. Oh, Edward, you're not a monster. That is what I wanted to say.

"Bad Guy?"

He looked at me waiting for something.

"No."

"No?" He said, "You don't know Bella."

"I know...enough." I said catching myself then continued "Edward You try too hard for your family, you try too hard to make up for your mistakes, in your eyes I see a pain a deep pain, and hatred bad guys have no regrets no true conscience of right and wrong. No, you're not a superhero, okay, but you're not the bad guy either. You're just Edward, just you." I said.

The bell Rang.

"We better get to class." He said as he stood.

I coughed to hide my laugh."I'm not going, ditching is good now and then." I said with a smirk remembering his words.

"Your skipping?" He looked confused.

"Yeah, I'm going home. You heading to Your car as well?" I stood grabbing the tray of half-eaten fries.

"What do you mean?"

"You're skipping too"

"Why?"I looked at him confused. Did I get the days wrong? No I couldn't have.

"Um, you're going to class?"

"Yes."He said slowly.

"Um okay well..."I shook my head. "No, Are you sure I mean I saw that they all had bandages so he still must be having that lesson today." I rambled unsure as I looked around.

Alice and Jasper had stayed behind but I noticed Rosalie and Emmette were missing.

"What are you talking about?" He asked

"They are blood typing in Biology today," I said slowly as I looked to his siblings then back to him.

He tensed up. I could see he was listening to the minds around him maybe even finding mr Banner's and as I looked to Alice I saw her eyes glaze over.

Looking back to Edward I knew when he did as his eyes went wide.

"How did you miss that Mr perfect." I looked over to Alice she looked on with an upset face. then looked to Edward she was blaming herself I saw it.

"No, Hey its okay." I said as I looked at Alice and smiled.

"Don't you be blaming her shes got enough to worry about with your mood swings and all over the place mind so of course she didn't catch it." I huffed and went to dump my tray.

"Honesly Edward I'm a 17-year-old girl why would I need you and Alice to watch me what could I do?" I spoke knowing he could hear every word

"Enjoy your free period I'm going home." I huffed. I started walking out but was stopped by a cold hand on my shoulder.

"You're leaving for the rest of the day?"

"Yes, I got my dad to write a note."

"How did you know about it?"I smiled and shrugged.

"Want to walk me to my truck? If we wait here too long you will get caught."

We walked to my truck together. I leaned against my driver's door and looked at him.

"So what is in your car player right now?"

"What?"

"In your car's CD player," I asked again.

"Um, Debussy, it's..."

"I love Clair De Lune." I cut him off.

"You know Debussy?" He said and tilted his head a bit.

I smiled he always did that when I did or said something he didn't expect.

"Only my favorites."

"It's one of mine too."

"My mom listened to the best music I got most of my taste from her."

"What is your mother like?"

"She's eccentric, very pretty, she's brave and irresponsible, she's an Unpredictable cook, and she's my best friend." I smiled sadly Thinking of Mom made me miss her I still hadn't heard anything and I was starting to worry I know she can be a bit MIA a lot of times but with Phil I would thinking he would of checked in with his coach.

"What's your Mother like?" I asked Edward.

"Esme is wonderful caring loving shes very kind."

I smiled I missed my second mother. I could use one of her hugs right now.

"What about your Father?" Edward asked

"My dad is the bravest, headstrong, loving man I know." I smiled and continued"He doesn't show emotions well he's like me that way I get my blush, and my two left feet from him, but when My dad loves or cares about someone he gives it his all. I do that too. We are both very stubborn and when we make our minds up there is nothing short of a miracle that could change it. Also, he can burn water" I laughed

"You love your parents a lot."

"Of course."

"For a 17 year old as you said you dont seem 17."I laughed.

"What?"

"Mom always said I was born mild aged and grow older every year." I smiled

"Well someone had to be the adult."

"You don't seem like a high schooler yourself."

"Of course."

"Bella?!"I looked up to see Mike come over I saw another kid beside him and waved at me then talked to the guy and he came over to me while the other kid slowly headed for the office.

"Oh, poor Lee," I said. "I should have warned him."

"Bella, why aren't you in class?"

"Playing hooky with Cullen?"

"No, I got a note I don't do well with blood like Lee there." I motion my head to Lee.

"You should have taken him like you were meant to he might fall or get sick," I said

"He's fine." Mike brushed him off " Listen, I wanted to ask. Your going to the Beach this weekend?"

"I said I would." I frowned he was doing this purposely to taunt Edward.

"We are meeting at my dad's store at ten." His eyes flickered to Edward, it was obvious that Edward was not invited not that he could go if he was.

"Yeah, I know. should I drive myself or will we have enough room? I was doing the math in my head and if everyone comes we will all just fit but if even one person brings a plus one it will be tight."

"It'll be fine if you did not invite anyone." He said and side-eyed Edward.

"No Edward and Alice are going Camping this weekend they can't come," I said matter a factly.

Edward raised a brow at me. Might help if Mike thought I asked.

"Um right see you in gym?" Mike smiled.

"No, I got my dad to excuse me for the rest of the day I was just heading him when Edward stopped me."I looked at Edward and smiled.

"Right okay see you tomorrow then." Mike sulked off.

"He doesn't take a hint well." I said and shook my head.

"Will you need to take your truck?" He looked at me.

I shrugged.I could tell he seemed to of caught on to me.

"We will just fit."

"You know this how?" He asked.

Oh he was trying to be direct

"I just know." I got up in his face up close.

"I shouldn't do this yet decisions all around set in stone or written in sand," I said had frozen when I got close to him. I looked into his eyes and tried to convey in my eyes how much I loved him. I saw him then open his mouth and his eyes turned darker and seemed to look dazed. I then slipped away to open my truck door.

"We all have are rights to our secrets." I smiled I wasn't sure if his eyes were dark form Thirst or something else but I'll hope for the latter.

Better not tempt fate though, no matter how much I wish to kiss him right now.

"I'll see you later."I Hurriedly setting the truck in motion. I can't believe just did that.

I giggled. I was upset that he wouldn't be driving me home but yet happy that I didn't make a fool of saying women are meant to be mysterious yet that was always Edward though he could read my mind he was the one who hid things and said cryptic things always never truly saying what he meant and driving me crazy. I also told him in the way that I could right now since he doesn't know I know- that he wasn't a monster I always hated and still do hate that he thinks of himself that way. I know it will change I hope to change it a bit more before I become his wife. I went home did homework and cooked dinner in a blur. I went to sleep dreaming of Edward and my Nessie.
