Hello there, everyone!
Happy New Year to you all! I'm starting 2024 off right by fulfilling the promise I made in the last update. Sure, I'm a little late, and I said it'd be posted before the end of the year, but I've got it now. The only reason it wasn't posted on 01/01/24 was because I ran into issues formatting them for the website… and I wanted to finish up editing and final touches on the 3rd chapter.
I went all out for this rewrite so that it wouldn't be a failure. This is a fic that I have planned out on paper physically and outlined digitally. I'm not playing games, and I hope you can see that effort throughout the writing of the new story.
So, there are 3 chapters that will be ready for you all once the story finishes publishing. I've put the story out into the site, so now it's just a waiting game. It is going to be published separately, under a new story rather than updating this one, if I wasn't clear enough. I'll try putting the URL here for y'all, but I'm not sure how that's gonna go over with formatting (remove the spaces, and you should be good):

The name is different, once again. It'll be under "The Humanity Within - the final rewrite". I've rated it T for not because I'm not sure if or when there may be elements that require the rating change.
I've been trying to better my writing in the time that I haven't been posting online, so I hope that you can see the improvements in this new story. I look forward to hearing feedback from you all and seeing what you think of it so far.
Hope to see you on the next story. I'm not going to be updating this version anymore, so feel free to just use it as a faint outline/blast to the past of what this story once was but will never be again.
