The next day, Eiji had gone over to the Kannagi residence after school to talk with Kaze.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" asked Eiji as the two stood in the garden outside the main house.
"It sounded important when you called yesterday and the fact that you wanted to do it here and not at school tells me that I'm right," he said while looking around at the flowers.
"There's something I've been meaning to tell you, but I've been too embarrassed to," said Kaze who was blushing slightly as she avoided eye contact.
"You can tell me anything, Kaze," said Eiji. She then took a deep breath to calm down.
"I have feelings for you, Eiji," said Kaze with a nervous smile.
"You… you do?" asked a stunned Eiji.
"Yes, I've felt this way for you for a while now, and I had to tell you even if you don't feel the same way," said Kaze.
"You're not alone, Kaze," said Eiji as he took a hold of her hand.
"I've also had feelings for you for a while now too," said Eiji.
"Guess I was worried about nothing," said Kaze with a slight laugh as they looked at each other. The two then moved in closer, until they kissed.
"What the?!" asked Kaze as they separated at the sound of fireworks.
"I think that might have been too much," said Aika as she and Hi came out of some bushes.
"I don't know, they always say that true love's kiss is like fireworks," said Hi before shooting a combination of fire and wind magic into the sky which exploded into a great show of sparks.
"You two were watching?!" asked Kaze as she and Eiji went full flushed faces.
"Do you realize how long we have been waiting for you two to get together?" asked Hi with a big grin.
"Forget about us, our parents have been waiting for this since we were all born," said Aika.
"Were we really that obvious?" asked Eiji as he hid his face behind his hands.
"Kaze, Hi, there's a job that just came in for you!" said Ren as he came running to them with a sheathed sword.
"We're on it," said Kaze as she took a deep breath to calm down.
"You might want to take them with you," said Ren as he motioned to Eiji and Aika.
"I can see why they should take Eiji, but I'm just a normal human," said Aika.
"Ki had me make this for you, it's a sword imbued with magic," said Ren as he held it out.
"Are you sure it's alright for me to have this?" asked Aika as she held the sword.
"I wouldn't have made it if I thought you weren't right for it," said Ren.
"Well, what are we waiting for then?" asked Kaze with a smile. The four then headed out.
