Riju and Link have come a long way together. From being strangers all of those years ago, to comrades freeing the Divine Beasts, to friends after the Great Calamity, to Sages during the Demon King's resurrection, and now...they have become more. It's been two years since Link had initially deflowered the Gerudo Chief. Since then, the Hero and the Sage of Lightning had become lovers, and Riju went on to birth the most powerful Gerudo in history, Sora, the Prince of all Gerudos. With the permission of Queen Zelda, they were able to express their love to the rest of the kingdom, and now, Riju is once again expecting another child along the way. This time, they are certain that it will be a girl, whom they have already name Nabooru. However, they have an extended family to save the least, particular Link and his son. With Queen Zelda, they share blood with Princess Sonia; With Paya, they share blood with the infant Impa; and with Purah, they now share blood with the newborn Topaz. Hyrule is on the cusp of being the best kingdom in the world, but they still have a long way to go. With Ganondorf out of the kingdom, Link finds himself with more free time than he is use to.
Link, Riju, Zelda, Paya, and Purah are all up in the Sky Islands, having slept overnight for a shared honeymoon. It was going well, as Riju was in a deep sleep after being served her brutal punishment by Link. They all seemed like they would sleep until noon, but Link found himself awake with a sharp sense in his arm.
It felt like someone was stabbing him, but it wasn't the case. When he came to, he almost jumped out of his skin. Staring him down from the Master Sword was a humanoid female figure which glowed a bit in the dawn.
"It's a pleasure to meet you again, Master." she expressed to him with a bow.
Link blinked twice, wondering if he was hallucinating. This was dismissed once Zelda was in view, clutching her arm as her power was gnawing at her. It seemed as though she was unbothered by the spirit, as if they already talked with each other, or perhaps, she just knew it.
"You feel it too, Link?" Zelda spoke to him.
Link knew that she was referring to his hand, and nodded. Zelda looked at her own hand. "It hurts, and it's telling me to check the temple of time." she told him. Link and the spirit looked at the Temple which wasn't too far from their location. Whatever answers they needed, they could find it in there.
"Let's go, they'll be fine here." Zelda said referring to Riju, Paya, and Purah.
Link nodded, and together, he picked up his sword as the spirit floated with them to the Temple. "If I may ask...who are you?" Link asked the floating figure.
The spirit turned its head and seemingly smiled at the swordsman. "I am Fi, the spirit of the Master Sword. I have seen many of your incarnations across space and time, and I am finally able to manifest once again, thanks to you and her grace." she said referring to Zelda with the last statement.
Link looked at Zelda who instinctively knew what she meant, as if the triforce of wisdom was feeding her knowledge of her past lives from before. Once at the Temple, they meet two mysterious wolfs, a blue eyes beast, and a golden wolf. Link and Zelda stopped at a good distance, waiting for something to happen.
"A sword wields no strength unless the hand that holds it has courage." The golden wolf told Link.
He was surprised that the furry could talk, let alone his language. Then again, this wasn't the most wildest thing that he saw today, and rolled with it. Sensing his comprehension, the golden wolf smiled. "That's a quote that I do not need to remind you, Hero of the Wild." he told him.
Zelda stepped up. "I've seen you two before. In my dream." she stated. "Who are you two?"
With her words, the two wolves transformed in front of them. As the light shimmered, Link's eyes widened at their appearance and clothing. For one, they looked a lot like himself, except for the one that had brown hair. Regardless, he recognized their clothing: the Heroes from Hyrule's ancient eras. There was no need for names or introductions. Their appearances said it all.
"What's going on?" Link asked them. "Why are you two here?"
"We here to prepare you, Link." Twilight told him.
They both looked concerned, as if they were bring bad fortune for their land, but it was needed to be said.
"Prepare...for what?" he asked them again.
Time stepped up to Wild as if to speak to him individually. He wasn't going to sugarcoat it in any ways, and given the look in his eyes, Wild Link knew what would come out of his mouth.

A/N - From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you all for reading my fanfic. By no means was this story flawless, but I appreciate you all for showing your support by favoriting the story, following the story, and leaving positive comments or constructive feedback on the story. As a fanfic writing those reviews (both in fanfic and in AO3) are what drove me to continue the story with the best of my abilities.
Okay, for starters, why was this fanfic 'cut short'?
1. Better to leave on a high note than drag out the story until it becomes dull.
2. Writing fatigue (This story was a spin off of a Link x Riju one-shot, so it was bound to end sooner or later), and admittingly I'm losing passion and confidence in writing this fanfic. To expand on this point:
2a: My passion for writing this was driven by the prequel one shot - Deflowering the Gerudo Chief - Link x Riju. As some of you already know, LinkxRiju is my favorite pairing in the TOTK universe (at least when TOTK came out and Riju became a young adult). Over this mini-series, they have became more than just friends. They became intimate and went on to become secret lovers, then open lovers, parents, Queen and Consort, married, and have changed the kingdom around them along with Zelda and the others. From this point on, the story would have focused a lot less on LinkxRiju's character and relationship development and more on how everyone defeats Ganondorf and rival other kingdoms...which isn't my favorite cup of tea to say the least.
Sure, they could still work on being good parents, but lets be honest, the whole ordeal of romance is dependent on falling in love, expressing that love (by admitting it or fighting for it), and doing the magic (sex). Romance would be replaced with family or adventure moving forward. Agree to disagree if otherwise.
3. Too much time and energy spent on writing fanfic, and time is money. I'm getting older and my responsibilities in real life are ramping up exponentially. It's not like I'm getting money for this anyways (no I'm not asking for any money before my words get twisted). Besides, my mind was stretched to its limits as I had like four major unfinished stories all at once, and as some of you have already noticed, I deleted some that I didn't plan on finishing.
So yeah...for better or for worse I'm cutting the line here, but who knows? Perhaps down the road when the DLC comes out, it may motivate me to continue on this story, but for the sake of my sanity, consider this fanfic completed. I'd encourage anyone to write their own spin off of this fanfic if you desire so. That's all I got! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH :)
