Chapter 2: Test Drive
Graph and Ninetales take a stroll in the streets of Laverre City, which wasn't that big of a city to begin with. Most of the locals who lived here wanted to see for of the nature of Kalos, other traveling from neighboring towns or other cities. Others come to challenge the Fairy type gym leader. It brings in many people, the good and the bad. Usually, the vigilante is out and about looking out for anyone that looks like they can cause trouble. Most of the equipment he used was damaged during his time when he was taking a break, but after a while he was able to implement it into his suit. So, even if he doesn't have this mask on, it still shows online profiles of people and pokemon that shows pretty much a lot about them. Even better this the pokemon features to where it shows weather, they are owned by someone or still wild, what moves they know, what abilities and everything, like his own pokedex.
The vigilante and Ninetales were out at the local café enjoying some nice hot drinks while keeping an eye out. He's done this for so long to where it's simple for him to pick out four suspicious people. However, his suit still having some bugs to it, even Ninetales lifted her head from the bowl to find him messing with the mask of his suit.
(If you keep messing with it, you just mess it up even more,) Ninetales teased a bit.
"There are a lot of bugs to work out and everything has to be just right," he stops and thinks for a bit then waves his hand, "well most things."
She chuckles while shaking her head before going back to drink before it gets too cold. He looks up and scouts the area and so far, nothing looking suspicious until he spotted four rough looking people going toward the pokeball factory area. He narrowed his eyes and signaled to Ninetales that it was time, he left the amount of money for the drink and followed the people around to the Pokeball Factory.
The typical random pokemon masks with basic tools to break into a fenced in and somewhat guarded factory, it never changes. He approaches them without the suit since this looks like a basic robbery.
"Now guys," they jumped, startled that the vigilante was standing right behind them, "It doesn't cost that much to simply buy Pokeballs."
They don't speak but only stop there, poorly, attempt to break into the factory and get there blunt weapons out.
"Alright then," the vigilante and his Ninetales get into a battle stance, "your choice."
They all rush them, and both quickly dodge the charge then split up to take them on two at a time. The vigilante's bodysuit's material made their blunt weapons like toy bats, he deflects them and dodges their wild swings. Ninetales ducks and weaves through their attack with smooth movement and occasionally using her tails to stop attacks. When they were back-to-back and the robbers threw a strong punch, Ninetales and the vigilante caught them.
The vigilante twisted his wrist downward making the robber scrunch his face behind the mask and then flip him up and over, throwing him into the fence. Ninetales dodged left and right until she caught the attacks with her tail and performed a spinning jump to pull and throw them off her. They all were down on the ground.
"I didn't even get to use it," he said to Ninetales.
Even when they thought the robbers were down, they weren't. The robbers grabbed their blunt weapons again but now they were faintly glowing now. They slowly came up ready to strike unnoticed.
Ninetales turned around, "You might want to put it on."
"Why?" He turns and sees that one of them is running at them.
One of the robbers jumped and slammed his now glowing blunt weapon down onto the ground which created a shockwave that blasted back Ninetales and the vigilante, knocking them on the ground.
"Okay, I get to use it after all," he stands and presses a button on the middle which glows.
Spreading his arms out, the backpack unfolds into multiple sections while forming the jumpsuit around him and on top of his usual clothes. The jumpsuit unfolds and covers his body from the chest to his arms and ending with the fingerless gloves, covering his legs down to his feet, and around his body to the back but ending around his neck while another layer that produces his large trench coat that locks together around his chest while the lower part of it remains open. Finally, he pulls his mask up that, from his eyes, pulls up his heads-up display. They get into a battle stance for round two.
The robbers run together with their weapons high ready to strike with a lot of force. The vigilante, however, held up his hands, the palm repulsors charging up and finally blast a strong beam to them. The robbers swinged their weapons, two being knocked back from the blasts, the other two blocking them and swinging right for them. The vigilante whips out his bo-staff and blocks both blunt weapons, however the shockwave pushed him back a couple of feet.
"Mienshao, we need some help!" He throws a pokeball and it pops open releasing the Martial Arts pokemon.
"Use Acrobatics!"
The long fur tips and feet glowed a faint white and when she ran to the robber, she quickly struck multiple times, first deflecting the blunt weapon then quick jabbing all over their body before finally kicking them away into the fence. One down and three to go, Ninetales was dodging shockwaves on shockwaves.
"Use Quick Attack!"
After dodging more swings, energy gathered around her, and she jumped out of the way disappearing in a flash. They didn't know which way she went but one of the robbers got hit full force in the side which sent them into the other knocked out robber into a pile. When the second was about to slam the blunt weapon down on Ninetales, she caught her wrist with her tail and made them drop the weapon. She then proceeded to display some impressive hand-to-hand, or in her case paw-to-paw, combat that combines her back legs for strong hits while using her tail keep them off balance and defending. Delivering a strong round kick to knock them dizzy, then swings her tails, knocking them into the pile.
The vigilante himself was dodging and blocking, his suit even taking a few blows from and absorbing the shocks. He finally had enough, and he punched them which made them drop his weapon, then punched from his chin and held his palm out. A whirring sound was heard with the center of his palm glowing and it fired a repulsor blast sending the criminal into the pile of their fallen comrades.
"Nice job guys," he returns Mienshao to her pokeball, "And I think that this test was a success, don't you?"
Ninetales rolled her eyes and walked away with the vigilante following, letting the authorities handle the rest. He pressed a button on the center of his suit which retracted the bodysuit but kept the full coat since he likes wearing the coat more. They walk back into Lavarre City, and they spot a poster on one of the buildings they passed. It was a band that had all the cosplay Pikachus on them holding instruments while singing all together. The poster described the music as a combination of their genre of music into one. The vigilante took hold of the poster and thought about something.
"Hey this seems fun to do," he showed the poster to Ninetales, "I haven't been to any concerts in a while."
(The cosplay band. I've heard of them but haven't heard their music,) she looked at the poster closely, (this sounds like a fun thing to do.)
"It says it a little later on, so we have a little bit of time to wind down, why don't we head back to the hideout for now and go to the concert?"
Ninetales smiled, (Sounds like a good plan.)
