Annabeth was angry with her mother. As she and Percy observed the events in Saint Louis, her stormy gray eyes were filled with her displeasure towards Athena. How dare her mother abandon her younger self in her moment of great need. Sure, in their timeline, Percy had faced the Chimera without the aid of the goddess. However, in their timeline, the Archway was not a dedicated temple to Athena either. Annabeth also had a creeping feeling that Medusa's head was not the only reason her mother was displeased. After all, her younger self was aiding the son of Athena's sworn enemy.

She felt arms wrap around her as Percy embraced her. "It's alright, Wise Girl. They will be OK. I just know it."

She nodded and she snuggled into her soulmate. Tears burned her eyes as she recalled them overhearing younger Annabeth and Percy have a moment of bonding. She smiled as she recalled them quipping before Percy stumbled.

"The fountain just wasn't enough to cure Chimera poison," Percy muttered as they stepped off Blackjack. They had landed on a building overlooking the river's edge, waiting for younger Percy to surface after his plunge.

"Well, I hope younger me gives younger you a good verbal thrashing for that stunt." Annabeth frowned at her boyfriend. He put his hand to his chest as if hurt.

"Why are you glaring at me, Wise Girl? I'm innocent."

She snorted. "Please, don't pretend like you wouldn't have done the same thing. You did something pretty similar anyway."

He shrugged. "I do what I can to protect my friends. It's just who I am. Double so when one said friend is the love of my life, whether younger me knows it or not."

Annabeth's heart fluttered at his words and rewarded him with a light kiss. "You are forgiven then. It is good to see the Percy of this world will have just as much as a record as you do."

Percy pouted. "I don't want to talk about it. Half of my school won't talk to me because they think I'm a delinquent."

Annabeth raised an eyebrow. "And the female half are always eyeing you. Don't try and deny it, I've visited and had to claim my territory a few times already."

Percy blushed. "I don't care about them."

She kissed him again. "I know. Anyways, you should be coming up soon. Let's move in for a closer look. I do wish Leo would hurry up with the wider range of invisibility items. It would be so cool if both of us and Blackjack could be unseen."

Percy released her from his arms, to which she almost protested despite her words. "Right, let's see what mischief our other selves get into next."

A/N: Another episode, done. I'm unsure if the fall was more realistic in the books or the show. How close is the arch to the river? I know in the books he jumped straight from the Observation Deck into the river. Otherwise, a nice episode that brings our heroes closer together. This quest is going to forge an even closer relationship between them than the book version did, I think. See you next week for episode 5.
