Cora had been out of the hospital a week and she was as good as new. As if nothing had happened to her. She was giggling and playing peek-a-boo with Jamie. He'd taken a few extra days off to really make sure she was back to being herself. Cora giggled some more and watched as her daddy covered his face.

"Peek-a-boo!"

When he uncovered his face, she put her hands over her eyes and then took them away.

"Boo!"

Jamie let out a small laugh and motioned for Cora to come towards him.

"Come to daddy baby girl."

Cora got on her knees and then pushed herself to her feet, toddling over to Jamie and sitting in his lap.

"Dada!"

Jamie took a photo book down from the shelf and settled Cora back into his lap. Opening it up, he pointed to the first picture on the page.

"Who's this baby girl?"

Cora squealed and put her hand on the photo.

"Mama! Baby!"

Jamie gave another laugh and pointed to another photo.

"Who's this baby girl?"

Cora gave another happy squeal and clapped her hands.

"Dada! Baby!"

Giving a chuckle, Jamie pointed to the photo.

"That's right baby girl. That's daddy. That baby daddy is holding is you. Who are these two?"

Jamie pointed to a photo next to the one of him and Cora.

"Mama! Dada!"

A smile came to Jamie's face. He remembered when the photo was taken. It was taken a month before they were both kidnapped, Eddie had been absolutely glowing. It had been the first real smile in a photo she'd given because she'd been miserable at least until that moment. Everything in her body had ached and Jamie had done his best alleviate some of those aches by massaging her lower back, her feet and her calves. He turned his attention back to Cora and kept smiling. He pointed to another photo on the next page. Cora squealed and reached over for one of her blocks, giving it to Jamie.

"Good job baby girl! E is for Aunt Erin!"

Jamie heard the front door to the house open up and Eddie's voice waft up the stairs.

"I'm home! Where's my beautiful baby girl and my extremely handsome husband?"

Jamie knew that was meant for him.

"We're in the nursery babe!"

Cora squealed and called out to Eddie as she came into the room.

"Mama!"

Eddie was about to pick Cora up but Jamie put a hand up.

"Shower first, then you two can cuddle."

Eddie hung her head slightly and nodded.

"True. Since we don't know where her cold came from, its better to get rid of the germs I brought into the house. I don't want her getting sick again."

Cora became fussy as Eddie walked away.

"Mama!"

Jamie did his best to distract Cora with putting a few of her blocks in a random stack.

"Baby girl, look, daddy has your blocks."

Cora stopped crying for a moment and looked at her blocks. She crawled over to the photo album lying next to Jamie and put her hand on top of a photo. Jamie noticed and smiled.

"Who's that?"

Cora reached for another block and handed it to Jamie.

"Very good baby girl! S is for Sean! Your cousin!"

Climbing back into Jamie's lap, Cora patted Jamie's cheeks.

"Dada…"

Scooping her up in his arms, he kissed her forehead.

"Are you hungry honey? Let's see what we've got in the kitchen."

Cora still in his arms, Jamie went rummaging in the closet in the kitchen and found a container of strawberry baby puffs. Cora squealed and tried putting her little hands out to grab for the container. Jamie got her settled into her highchair and got a plastic bowl down from the cupboard, pouring a small handful of the puffs into it. Giving another soft laugh, Jamie places the bowl on the highchair tray.

Cora takes a couple of the puffs and stuffs them in her mouth, making happy sounds. He watched her carefully as she did her best to chew on the soft food with the one tooth in her mouth. He sometimes worried she'd choke on them. But he always made a point to make sure he and Eddie got age-appropriate foods for her. Cora took a small handful and held her hand out to Jamie.

"Dada?"

Jamie shook his head no and pointed towards Cora.

"No thank-you baby girl. Those are for you."

Jamie was busy watching Cora that he hadn't noticed Eddie watching both of them.

"I love watching the two of you bonding. Daddy's and little girls have special bonds. How'd you know she wanted the strawberry puffs?"

Jamie smirked at his wife.

"The strawberry one's are her favorite. She doesn't like the peach flavored ones."

Eddie nodded and gave a snort.

"That's true. She turned the bowl over and made a face at them. Here's the proof."

Pulling up the photo on her phone, Eddie showed Jamie.

"Oh. That's a keeper. Do you still have the one with her eating the oatmeal?"

Nodding her head yes, Eddie got closer to Jamie and took his arms and wrapped them around her waist.

"I'm so glad she's ok. We have a happy and healthy little girl."
