Allison gave the kids the night before heading over to Beverly's Bed and Breakfast to talk to them. She'd been busy anyway. She'd had the scientists checking on the hologram. They did find a fluctuation in it, but were amazed that anyone had seen it. The clearances issued by Mrs. Fredericks of the Warehouse had born out and Artie Nielson had personally assured her the job offer was genuine. The news that Pete Latimer and his mother were descended from an actual god and that Alexander Harris and Cordelia Chase had been sent to this reality three years ago to get an artifact from the Warehouse that belonged to that same god and that Alexander was also related to that god, had come as a bit of a shock. And not facts that she would be including in her report. They'd all be declared insane and the kids studied. There were enough unethical humans in the world that wouldn't hesitate. She did wonder if they were Alphas. It might be part of why Mrs. Fredricks wanted them at the Warehouse. She could simultaneously protect them and allow them to use their abilities to help keep the world safe. The Warehouse didn't exploit people. Only the willing became apart of it. It was one of the reasons it worked so hard to stay neutral after all.

Allison found Beverly in her front yard, weeding flowers. The two women eyed each other for a moment. Neither liked the other. "I need to talk to your guests, Beverly."

"You're going to have to wait. I suggest you go talk to Vince and Jo first, since I know you haven't talked to them yet, about the kids."

"Why?"

"Apparently they're making up for lost opportunities. And she's loud. I personally have been in the yard most of the morning. The bedroom I gave them is in the back of the house."

"Oh. Well they are teenagers. I'll be back in a couple of hours."

The conversation with Vince didn't last long as he didn't have much to add to what Jack had reported. The conversation with Jo on the other hand. Allison hoped never to hear about rocket launchers again.

This time she was able to talk to the kids.

"Hi, I'm Allison Blake, I'm an agent with the Department of Defense and the liason to Global Dynamics. We have some protocols regarding time and reality travel and I need to debrief you on what you've been doing and determine what kind of an impact it may have on our reality."

"Well, like I've said, as long as it doesn't involve trying to experiment on us." Xander agreed. "Go ahead and ask your questions."

"Well, I know from Artie Neilson why you came to this reality three years ago. Why did you choose this reality?"

"We didn't specifically choose this reality. The method of travel we use has a mental component. It requires the user to state a target, in this case, we were looking for a reality that had the Guardians of the Warehouse. The technology then scanned the multiverse looking for a reality that matched that target specification. We ended up here. The people at the Warehouse were able to help us."

"Why did you come back?"

"The last reality we were in was deeply disturbing on many levels. We basically wanted some place with friendly faces. People we knew who weren't going to try to hurt or exploit us. We've been to a couple of realities that fit that bill. We ended up here and ran into Claudia."

"You mentioned dinosaurs to Vince and Jack. Does that mean you've also time traveled?"

"Yes and no. The dinosaurs were not time travel. They're in a reality were they're kept in a nature preserve because they're an endangered species. We never did find out if they were able to bring extinct species back or if some managed to survive into the modern era. The time travel involved a reality were we ended up in ancient Greece for about half a day."

"Did you interfere in that realities past?"

"Yes. We helped tend to some wounded soldiers and civilians. We also defended ourselves and others."

"Given that it was the past of another reality, there isn't anything we can do about that. But in this reality, time travel within this reality is forbidden. Especially to the past."

"Because it can create new timelines."

"Exactly. You might not get back to your own timeline in that instance. Now you came here originally for a specific reason. Did you accomplish what you were looking to do?"

"Yes."

"Then why continue traveling?"

"This is where I warn you, we won't allow ourselves to be experimented on. We can and will leave this reality if we feel there's even the possibility of it happening."

"If you're referring to what we call Alphas, humans with additional abilities, such as the agents of the Warehouse, we're familiar with them. The Department of Defense has an entire team that helps solve crimes, some committed by other Alphas. They are monitored, but not forced to work for the government and certainly are not experimented on. By our government anyway. But there are unethical scientists and governments that do so. The U.S. government's official policy is that there will not be any experimentation, exploitation or false imprisonment of Alphas. Criminal Alphas will be secured in a manner that does not allow them to use their abilities, since such abilities could be used to aid them in escaping."

"Alphas is certainly a better term then we've heard in other realities. In one, the polite term we heard was Homo Superior. The impolite one was mutants. In the last reality we were in, the Troubled, with capital letters, was used. Those with such abilities were so terrified they lived in denial of their abilities in an effort to avoid being persecuted or killed."
