AN: Can't believe I got 7 bookmarks from just 1 chapter. Didn't know Tanya fanfic were this popular. Or maybe ya'll just thirsty for Youjo Senki.
James woke up with a groan.
He could feel the strong heat on him.
He opened his eyes and saw he was tied up.
Looking around, he saw other Pokémon's playing at the beach.
Far away was a woman sleeping under the shade of an umbrella.
"Jessie, Meowth, wake up."
Jessie and Meowth proceeded to wake up.
They looked around carefully.
"James where are we?"
James didn't have an answer to Jessie's question, he would need a map.
"I don't know."
Meowth yelled at the woman
"Hey you over there, wake up!"
That seemed to have awoken the woman and she got up.
She cracked her neck and looked dully at them.
Meowth became scared.
"Why does she has the eyes of a killer!?"
James wanted to run.
"Maybe she is!"
Jessie shivered with fear.
"Is she going to kill us?"
Tanya walked towards them with cold eyes.
"The three shivered and backed away."
From beyond the three, Tanya saw someone else wash up ashore.
He had dark blue hair and dark eyes.
From the water, he dragged out his shiny Ralts.
"No Ralts! Stay with me, you're still young!"
He shook his Ralts but it didn't wake up.
"Ma Boi!!!"
He looked at Tanya and narrowed his eyes.
He looked back at his Ralts and proceeded to tickle it.
Ralts woke up laughing and spat seawater into his face.
"Ah my eyes!"
The man rolled over the sand and his Ralts watched embarrass.
Needless to say, Tanya was blank lost at the sight.
She studied the man and determined he was an idiot.
He got up and took his Ralts into his arm.
Turning to Tanya, he walked menacingly towards her.
Tanya narrowed her eyes and prepared for combat.
But the man just walked past her.
She looked and saw him free Meowth.
"Cut the vines."
Meowth used his claws and freed Jessie and James.
"Now let's dip!"
The man ran and the Rockets followed after him.
Tanya processed the sight before her thought caught up.
"Braviary, Poliwrath, Sandslash, Scizor, Froslass, chase after them! Haxorus, stay here!"
The five didn't get far before they were caught by Tanya's Pokémon.
They were tied up with vines and Tanya started questioning them.
"Jessie."
"James."
"Meowth."
"Kuro."
"Ralts."
Kuro watched as Tanya proceeded to question the Rockets on how they ended up on this beach.
He studied her carefully.
When he first saw her, he felt like a monkey stumbling upon a tiger.
If he had a sword, he would feel more confident as he would be like a monkey with a shotgun facing a tiger.
When you see something that can kill you like a tiger, you go easy kitty and try to play it cool.
That's what Kuro did until he felt the need to free Jessie, James, and Meowth.
Now he was on her prey list.
Right now, the tiger was focusing on three other preys.
If he ran, she would chase after him and maul him.
Currently, Kuro was feeling a strong itch to poke the tiger with a stick.
His monkey brain was urging him to do so.
Don't you want to know what happens if you poke the tiger with a stick.
Most likely, the tiger will maul you to death but don't you still want to find out?
As Kuro's monkey brain egged him on, he felt braver and braver.
It'll be worth seeing the tiger's reaction to getting poked with a stick even if it means getting mauled to death.
A smile formed on Kuro's face.
Tanya glanced coldly at him.
"Something amusing."
Kuro grinned at her.
"Yep."
She turned her full attention on him and his hair stood up.
"Tell me what you find so amusing."
Kuro's monkey brain told him not to do it while urging him to do it.
He really needed to avoid the thrill of danger.
"Oh, I just find it how amusing how Team Rockets are currently escaping right now."
Tanya turned to Team Rockets and saw Meowth trying to cut the vines.
They stood stiff frozen.
Meowth laughed nervously.
"The vines were tight so I'm just loosening them up a little."
Kuro tore out of his vines and grabbed Ralts.
He bolted for the trees.
Tanya blinked at the scene and snarled.
"After him!"
Braviary closed in on Kuro and was about to grab.
Kuro blew a raspberry at Tanya.
"You snooze you lose!"
Ralts used Hypnosis on Braviary and it fell asleep on the ground.
Kuro shot forward with amazing speed and left her Pokemons in the dust.
She was about to chase after him when she heard Team Rockets running from her.
Making a quick mental calculation, she recalled all her Pokemon and chased after Kuro.
She was quite annoyed at his stupid trickery.
She ran through the forest and into the city.
There, she saw Kuro buying ice cream with a smile.
She ran and tackled him to the ground.
"Help, she's assaulting me!"
A crowd formed and murmured among each other.
Tanya became blank face for a moment as she realized her mistake.
"Please, someone help, she's touching me!"
Tanya immediately let go of him and backed away.
Kuro got up and looked at her furiously.
"I told you we're done, leave me alone."
The crowd started murmuring more and Tanya thought quickly.
"What do you mean done, you littered at the beach and think you can make me clean it up."
Kuro narrowed his eyes as the crowds murmured at him.
So she wasn't all brawns and no brain.
He shrugged his shoulders.
"You were going to pick it up anyway were you not?"
Officer Jenny appeared from the crowds.
"Littering is a violation of the law, I'll need you to come with me sir."
Kuro thought quickly.
If he ran, he would become a criminal and the tiger in front of him might tackle him.
Officer Jenny came up to Kuro and touched him.
Kuro fell to the ground.
Officer Jenny became confused.
"Arrggghhhh, police brutality, someone help! Arggghhhh."
Some people rolled their eyes and other laughed.
Officer Jenny sighed and took Kuro along with his Ralts to jail.
She looked at Tanya.
"You also need to follow me."
Tanya followed after her.
During night, in jail, Kuro marked the cell walls.
"How long have we been here Ralts? I no longer remember what the outside world looks like."
Ralts wondered if Kuro had gone insane, they've only been in jail for five hours so far.
"Ralts."
Kuro nodded at Ralts as if he knew what she was saying.
"Do me a favor Ralts, when you get out, forget about me and continue on okay?"
Ralts didn't know why, but she felt sad started tearing up.
"Ralts!"
Kuro picked up Ralts and she cried over him.
They were supposed to find the legendary Vitality Fruit together and save Lisa who was sick, but now it seemed she might have to continue on alone.
At the gym, Tanya was sleeping peacefully.
There was a beep and Tanya opened her eyes.
The Rockets have finally come to retrieve their Pokemons.
She would give them the old-fashioned American welcome with a shotgun.
Going into another room, Tanya looked through the monitor's cameras and saw the Rockets snooping around.
She put her shotgun down and dialed the police.
Officer Jenny arrived and Tanya watched with mild amusement along with annoyance as the Rockets ran from Officer Jenny while juking her many times through sheer luck.
Tanya wanted to face-palm many times.
In the end, the rockets successfully escaped, and Officer Jenny apologized to Tanya.
Tanya said it was okay and waved Officer Jenny off with a smile.
Officer Jenny arrived back at the police station only to find all the officers sleeping.
She checked every cell with panic and saw that only Kuro and his Ralts were missing.
She woke up her fellow officers and they scanned through the city.
Inside a museum, Kuro cradled a sleeping Ralts while singing a lullaby.
By the time the lullaby had finished, Ralts was asleep.
Kuro walked up to a stand that had a Samurai sword on it.
He took it and unsheathed it.
Its sharp edge shined under the moonlight.
"Tanya von Degurechaff, so that's who you are."
Morning came and Tanya woke up with a nice cup of coffee.
She had a good night's sleep and didn't really need it but it had become a habit.
Turning on the TV, she saw that Kuro and his Ralts had escaped.
Tanya frowned and then sighed.
Officer Jenny wasn't as competent as she thought.
Tanya cooked her breakfast and ate it.
After she finished, she opened her gym and waited.
A few trainers came in and started training with their Pokémon as they saw the gym was open.
They didn't challenge and just trained their Pokémon.
Tanya's gym offered a steel badge with her Pokemon as Bisharp, Lucario, and Scizor.
She had replaced Sandslash and Froslass since she didn't really need them for the everyday life.
It took a while but her first challenger appeared.
It was a tomboy looking girl with red hair and red eyes.
"I'm Taliyah and I challenge you for the steel badge."
Tanya nodded at Taliyah and cracked her neck.
The girl seemed slightly intimidated by that.
Other trainers around made room and spectated.
Among the trainers, one came up to be referee which Taliyah and Tanya accepted.
Tanya called out Bisharp and Taliyah called out Cinderace.
Bisharp had Nightslash, Slash, Scary Face, and Low kick as moves.
Cinderace had Bounce, Double Kick, Agility, and Flame Charge as moves.
Tanya grimaced a little, her opponent had chosen a quite good counter.
"Begin!"
The referee yelled.
"Cinderace, Flame Charge!"
"CINDERACE!"
Cinderace was too fast for her Bisharp to dodge and Tanya knew it.
If Bisharp traded blow for blows with Cinderace, it would lose.
Even if Bisharp successfully dodge, Cinderace can still continue on the offense.
Tanya wanted to give out gym badges, but at the same time, she didn't want to lose.
It was quite the predicament.
Looking at her Bisharp, she could see that it had full delusional confidence in her.
Very well, she would give it her all then.
"Bisharp! It's do or die! Use Night Slash!"
"BISHARP!"
The two Pokémon clashed and negated each other attack.
"Flame Charge!"
"Night Slash!"
"Flame Charge!"
"Night Slash!"
"Flame Charge!"
Tanya saw an opening and smiled like a madly.
"Low Kick!"
Bisharp swung his leg into Cinderace left leg.
Cinderace lost balance with continued momentum.
Bisharp moved away slightly without being ordered to.
"Slash!"
With a perfect critical hit, Bisharp knocked Cinderace to the hot dry ground.
Cinderace fainted with swirly eyes.
The trainers around were awed at the sight.
Everyone was sure Bisharp would lose.
Tanya looked at the referee and they recovered their composure.
"Cinderace has fainted, the victor is Bisharp!"
The trainers started cheering and looked at Taliyah to summon another Pokémon.
Taliyah looked lost and looked carefully at Tanya for a moment.
She recalled Cinderace and scratched the back of her head.
"Sorry, that was my strongest Pokémon."
Relatable, some people with only one over leveled Pokémon thought.
Taliyah pointed at Tanya.
"I'll grow stronger and challenge you again."
Tanya smiled and nodded.
"I'll be waiting."
Taliyah left the gym and headed towards the Pokémon Center.
On the way, a strange smiling man with a sword appeared in front of her.
At his side was a strangely colored Ralts.
"Hey kid, I ain't no one creepy."
That was definitely what a creep would say and Taliyah backed away a little.
"Stay back, I have Pokémon's."
The man ignored her words held out his hand with a smile.
"The name's Kuro, what's yours?"
Taliyah turned and ran.
Kuro scratched his head and Ralts sighed.
Was he really that creepy?
She didn't look like she heard the news about him yet.
He was hoping to help her train her Pokémon so she could put that liar Degurechaff in her place.
Degurechaff legit lied about him littering and how he was with Team Rocket and that got him real bad with the police.
She also made his friend Ralts cry.
Needless to stay, unless Degurechaff stepped on a Lego or sincerely apologize, this grudge of his would be for life.
Thinking about it, Kuro wondered if he should train Ralts into a strong Pokémon to beat up Degurechaff.
