Day 5, 7:00 AM
Major A Room
Right now, everyone has gone back to their respective rooms as they were all obliged to rest themselves since they had worn themselves out during the entire night.
In the Major A room, only Arreis was present as the rest of the team was still in the hospital.
...or not.
Suddenly, the door opened, revealing both May and Beatrice. Arreis jerked herself up and out of her bed in surprise.
"Sorry, Arreis." May apologized. "Anyway, we have some great news." She added, although her face didn't looked as if it was great news.
Arreis widened her eyes. "Really? What is it then?"
"No one's going home due to injury today." Beatrice answered as she climbed up onto her bunk. "Vanessa and Colin may come back here later, they still need some time to heal at the hospital."
The veteran sighed in relief after hearing this. It looks like their team would be back together in no time. But something seems to be bothering them.
"What's with those faces?"
"Oh. It's just some random thing between Ryder and Antoinette. You probably didn't see it last night since you were the first to run away." Beatrice shrugged, but May elbowed her and gave her a disapproving look.
Arreis (Major A): "There was a rumor spreading inside of the bus that something was going on between those two, Ryder, and Antoinette. But I may be wrong."
Major B Room
As of now, everyone present in Major B was still awake. Specifically Adala, Sybil, Carter, and Therion.
Carter decided to approach Therion, who was sitting on his bed looking pretty neutral. One thing he knew was that at least he didn't seem to feel bad unlike these past few episodes.
"Hey, how's stuff?" Carter asked as he sat next to the gamer. "I heard you and Rival made up."
He smiled at him. "Yeah, we did. I'm really happy about it. I just realized yesterday that it was actually my fault that I ended our friendship like that, but things are pretty good since we made up." Therion answered, but his smile faded quickly after that.
"...There's something else, isn't there?"
Therion nodded. "Yeah, I don't think I want to talk about it honestly."
"That's fine. I'll just go get something downstairs." Carter nodded before he left the room.
Adala and Sybil were also chatting with each other. They were currently sitting on Adala's bed, with the former had her head resting on a pillow.
"So… do you think I should forgive him?" Sybil asked the other girl. "I mean, if anything, it's actually my fault for leaving him."
"How?" Adala asked. "I actually can't imagine you being the reason why you two break up."
Sybil grabbed Adala's hands and looked at her straight into her eyes. "I was such a coward back then, Adala. After that car accident last year, I was the one who told him to break up with me. I was so scared that I thought I couldn't move on."
"Well… do you think he'll forgive you, though?" Adala asked her.
"...No." Sybil answered sadly.
Minor A Room
Much like the other room, everyone present in this room was still awake, getting ready to go to sleep. Toxa was nowhere to be seen as she was still in the bathroom.
The camera pans to Misha, who was staring at the Whole Rest in her hands.
"When are you gonna use that?"
Misha jerked up and saw that Mag was the one who asked that question. "Jesus Christ bitch, you just scared the shit out of me."
"Well…" Mag shrugged and took a seat next to her. "Are you gonna use that later?"
Misha stared back the power up for a second time before sighing. "I don't know. I mean I am planning to…"
"Mind if I make a suggestion?"
"Knock yourself out." Misha answered.
"Use it on Toxa." Mag whispered to her. "I don't think we can keep her for that long. I mean, Pierre would've been eliminated instead of Kimmie."
"Well, I don't fucking know honestly. I mean, Kimmie cost us the cooking challenge, I can admit to that. And Alec cost us the lyric making challenge." Misha pointed out. "Truth be told, the only thing that Pierre did so far was to make you guys clean the entire kitchen and that's not really strategic to just get rid of him."
Mag sighed. "You're right. He's actually more experienced in acting than all of us combined, and I hate to say this but… he could be an asset."
"Yeah. At least just give the bitch one more chance. If he messes up in this challenge, I'm sending him home using the Whole Rest." Misha nodded.
"Sounds like you guys are talking strategy here." Rival joined in the conversation, almost startling the two.
"We're gonna get rid of either Pierre or Toxa." Mag responded. "...but mostly Toxa. I don't know."
"Well… why not both? I mean, the Whole Rest can be used against three people." Rival pointed out.
Misha took another gander at the note. "You're right. But… the question is... who?"
Minor B Room
Inside Minor B's room, Lyle was the only person present as of now. The boy was currently asleep on his bed, while the door opened, causing him to wake up.
Janice entered the room, looking exhausted as she had just come back from the hospital.
"Hey." Lyle greeted. "How are the others?"
"They'll be coming back later." Janice smiled reassuringly. "No harmful injuries were made so they should be in good shape when they come back." She added, grabbing her sleepwear before staring awkwardly at him.
"Yeah?" Lyle asked her.
"Um… do you mind if I change in here?" She asked back awkwardly. "Toxa is taking a really long time in the bathroom and… I want to go to sleep as soon as possible."
"Yeah sure. I can leave if you want-"
"N-no… you don't have to, I'll… I'll just make it quick. I don't want you to adjust for me." Janice answered.
Lyle just shrugged. "Well… if you say so." He added, lying on his bed with his back facing her, giving her some privacy as she started to change her clothes, facing away as well.
Minor House - Bathroom
Toxa was seen looking in the mirror. Her eyes were full of rage as she tried to regulate her breathing.
"Trying to get in the way, huh?" She gritted her teeth. "I'll make sure that you are going to be next. In fact, I will make this so dramatic that even the lights would turn off on their own."
She balled up her fists.
The question is, who was she referring to?
Lobby (Theater)
In the meanwhile, Blaineley was sitting in one of the couches, waiting anxiously for the arrival of her co-hosts.
Epi emerged from the other hallway and rushed up to her.
"Are they here yet?"
The hostess shook her head. "No. What if it's true though?"
"What's true, if I may ask?" Epi jutted his chin.
"That half of the cast is going to get eliminated due to medical concerns." Blaineley answered with a huff. "But still, this is all Chris's fault."
"Indeed." Epi rolled his eyes, before suddenly darting them towards the entrance. "Speaking of Chris…"
Just as he said that, Chris was seen rushing in towards the entrance, which startled Blaineley. Judging by his facial expressions (a slight smirk forming on his lips), this could either be good news or it's just him putting his awful plan into a success.
"What is it, Chris!?" Blaineley gasped in shocked right as he entered. "You literally scared the holy hell out of me!"
"Good news. No one's going home as of now."
Epi and Blaineley both let out a sigh of relief.
"...but we have to keep an eye out for them at all costs." Chris finished. "We don't want them to end up like what happened last season."
Blaineley raised an eyebrow. "What did happen last season?" She asked, as Epi also shared the same look of confusion.
Chris realized what he just said and instead let out a nervous chuckle. "Oh wait… you guys weren't in that season… whoops."
The three shared a short moment of silence, before Blaineley widened her eyes a bit in realization.
"Where are the others?"
"Oh they'll be back by the time the challenge starts." The raven haired host reassured them. "Probably around 2pm."
"Isn't it a two-day challenge, though?" Epi asked them.
Chris nodded at the guest's response. "Correct. They can just take all the time they need, it's a tough one. In the meanwhile, we should be doing an intro."
The two quickly noticed a cameraman just behind Chris, causing them to let out a sigh.
"Very well, then." Epi muttered.
Chris turned to the camera. "Anyway, last time on Total Drama, we had a bit of a pickle with the challenge."
"Thanks to you." Blaineley nonchalantly added.
"Shush!" Chris scolded her, without taking his eyes off the camera. "But for today, we are here with EP7 of-"
"Total Drama Act II: Musical Power. Yay." Blaineley whined.
"...am I supposed to be saying something?" Epi asked in confusion before the screen faded to the theme song.
*Opening Theme #1*
Dear mom and dad, I'm doing fine
The camera zooms into the dance practice room where Lyle was practicing his ballet. May and Sami were watching him and applauded as he landed on his plié successfully, while Arabelle on the other hand, watched with disgust.
You're always on my mind
The camera leaves the room and heads to the auditorium where we can see Beatrice masterfully playing the piano until Antoinette sits on the keys smirking, causing several off-key notes being played. Ryder sees this and pushes Antoinette off the piano, causing her to land face first to the floor and Ryder and Beatrice high-fived.
You asked me what I wanted to be
The camera zooms under the high-five and next thing we see is that we are in the bedroom of one of the teams' houses, where Janice was writing in her diary. Toxa was standing right behind her, rubbing her hands as if she had a plan. Toxa then turns back, only to find Misha crossing her arms. On the window however, we can see Pierre trying to get a peek of the girls.
And now I think the answer is plain to see
The camera warps to the other house's living room, where we can see Rival and Therion doing their handshake. Mara is then seen in the window waving at them causing Therion to blush but then scowls when he sees Mara taken away by Ulysses. Both boys however, ignored Alec, who served them a plate of cookies, with a shocked expression on his face.
I wanna be famous
The camera zooms into the cookies and warps to the backstage where we can see Carter and Mag arguing, with Nash trying to break them up, by throwing his lasso at them. Lee on the other hand, freaks out as he sees this, and runs away from them instead of telling them something important.
I wanna live close to the sun
We then get a view of the storage room, where Gordon and Vanessa were looking for something. Colin opens the door, scaring the two, but leaves after that with a downed expression.
Go pack your bags, I've already gone far
The camera then warps again to the dressing room, where we see Adala and Zack comforting Sybil, who looked as if she were crying. It then pans onto ELV on the other side of the room, who happens to pass by and (unintentionally) begins to eavesdrop.
Everything to prove, what can you say?
We now go to the cafeteria where we can see Holly, Evan, and Leticia chatting. Arreis and Kimmie have plates of food in their hand but Kimmie accidentally drops the food on Holly, making her mad. Mairead was on the other table, laughing, while Gabe didn't look too pleased.
I'll be there one day
The camera quickly zooms into a small library where Dustin, Oli, and Robert were playing cards. However Maya comes in and slams the table, causing all cards to fall off, getting glares from the three boys.
'Cause I wanna be famous
The scene then swaps to a camera room, where we can see Brea, Blaineley, Chris, and Chef arguing. Don then arrives and stops everyone but is stopped when Enrique starts scolding them.
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na!
The scene switches to the office room where we can see Chris holding a bunch of papers, then leaves his office with a note that says "NO TRESPASSING" in big red letters.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
The first "I wanna be" shows the Sopranos (Janice, Sami, Toxa, Beatrice, Kimmie) against the Tenors (Alec, Colin, Zack, Lyle, Oli). The second "I wanna be" shows the Mezzo-Sopranos (Vanessa, Misha, Adala, May, Mairead) and the Mezzo-Tenors (Gordon, Pierre, Therion, Nash, Robert) shaking hands. The "I wanna be famous" shows the Altos (Arabelle, Antoinette, Mag, Sybil, Arreis) and Basses (Rival, Ryder, Carter, ELV, Gabe) sharing a group hug.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
The fourth "I wanna be" shows the four interns standing there with mixed expressions. The fifth "I wanna be" shows the five judges with different reactions from different performances. In the second "I wanna be famous" shows the five hosts crossing their arms with smirks on their faces.
*whistling in tune*
The whole cast can now be seen on the stage, bowing as the audience applauds them loudly. Flowers were being thrown to the stage as the curtain closed, revealing the season's title, "Total Drama Act II: Musical Power" in gold letters. The episode title, "Episode 8: All Tricks Behind A Mask" can be seen written below, in silver letters.
*End opening theme*
Total Drama Act II: Musical Power
Episode 8: All Tricks Behind A Mask
"I will make this so dramatic that even the lights would turn off on their own."
Day 5, 2:00 PM
CHALLENGE 3.2: The Escape-ade (Location: Auditorium)
The time has come for the challenge to start. Everyone was now present in the auditorium, with the hosts plus Epi up on the stage. Some of the contestants were seen sitting on the front row from the left side, while the other contestants that had just recently arrived from the hospital were seated on the right side. The interns were also present as they stood off to the side of the stage, but one detail noticed by some was that the judges weren't there, unlike most of their performance challenges.
Brea took the mic and cleared her throat as she eyed at all the contestants one by one. "So performers, your challenge for today… or should I say for the next two days… is to film a short movie or scene relating to the horror genre."
Everyone exchanged glances with each other. As soon as they all heard the word 'horror' they couldn't help but remember the hell they've been through in the previous episode.
"It's also your job to decide who gets what role." Brea continued, pointing towards them with a growing smirk on her face. "You'll be having some cameramen, costume designers, set designers, actors, video editors, and all that skedaddle to make your work all spoofy."
"Don't forget that the judges will be here to judge your work in two days, so by 7:00PM on the day after tomorrow, you should all be prepared." Blaineley added. "If I were you, I'd rather decide today, then film tomorrow, then edit and polish everything before the program."
Everyone darted their eyes either towards their teammates or towards the hosts. These challenges are getting harder and harder and it was getting even more difficult for the others to catch up.
Later on, Chris came in with two packets of papers.
"Performers, the hosts and I have already chosen the scripts you'll be using." He smirked at them, which only made them expect the worse. "For this challenge, one Major team and one Minor team will be working together in preparation for the future episodes."
Some of the contestants gave off surprised looks while others gasped.
Sami (Major B): "This could only mean that both Major and Minor teams are merging next episode…" she sighs in disappointment. "That sucks, I actually really like my team."
"Major A," Chef looks at the teens. "You will be working with Minor A. While Major B and Minor B will work together as well. So to make things clear, Team A, sit on the left side while Team B, sit on the right."
Everyone scattered around for a bit until they found their team. Chris then approached Team A and gave them one packet, and did the same for the other team.
"Teams," Don grabbed their attention. "You may now decide your roles and start the challenge."
"I hope you're all ready to feel pressure." Brea stifled up a chuckle.
Challenge Phase #1 - Planning (Both Teams)
MAJOR A & MINOR A ( Beatrice, May, Vanessa, Colin, Nash, Ryder, Arreis, Toxa, Misha, Mag, Pierre, Rival, Robert)
As Toxa was given the packet, she stepped up on the aisle and turned her attention to the now team of thirteen who were seated on the seats.
"So the scene we have is called…" Toxa began, scanning her eyes for the title. "1952, Drummer Street."
"Just by reading the title, this is already freaking me out." Beatrice commented, slumping herself on her seat.
Vanessa turned to Toxa. "Should we assign the acting roles first?"
Toxa scanned the rest of the packet. "There are two major characters listed here, Willamina and Max. But there are also eight background characters."
Robert jutted his chin in thought before nodding. "Let's do this, raise your hand if you're skilled in acting."
The teams… or… team… looked and glanced at each other, no one daring to raise their hand, which caused Robert to sigh. "Alright, guys. I know this will be a bit weird since we technically never communicate with each other unless otherwise, but this will be a great opportunity for us to bond together because there is a possibility that these will be the teams for the next episode onwards. So asking again, who here is skilled in acting? I'll say we'll pick our lead male role, so I'll be asking the boys first here."
Colin, Pierre, and Rival raised their hands in response. Ryder didn't as he was more specialized in dancing than acting and Nash was… Nash.
"Alright guys," Robert began, distancing himself and the three boys from the rest of the team. "Which one of you guys can be Max Shelton?"
Rival instantly pulled his hand back. "...I'm good, thanks."
Robert raised an eyebrow, a bit weirded out by his gesture but shrugged it off anyway. "So I guess it's down to either Colin and Pierre then?" He analyzed both boys. "Hmm… this is hard. I know Pierre used to be an actor and judging by the previous performances, Colin does seem to have a lot of potential so…"
Pierre began looking around except at Robert while Colin looked down.
"...Let's play it safe and have Pierre get the role." Robert finally decided.
"Wait… why me? Come on!" Pierre groaned while Colin just sighed dejectedly.
Colin (Major A): "There was definitely less than 1% chance of me getting picked, so of course they had to play it safe and use Pierre's acting to an advantage." He squints his eyes shut. "I still have yet to show my skills though."
With Toxa and the rest of the girls (plus Ryder and Nash), things were going pretty rough.
"So… only Beatrice here can act?" Toxa summed everything up.
This was pretty much true. Misha, Toxa, and Vanessa were more on the singing side. Arreis and May were more specialized in dancing. And Mag was more on the rapping end.
Beatrice sighed as she combed her pink hair with her fingers. "So I guess it's me then? What does Willamina do?"
Toxa heard her question and had the same though in mind, so she went back to skimming the script. As she approached the end, she widened her eyes. "Looks like she's more of an antagonist here. Well, no offense Beatrice, but this role on you will look… weird."
Beatrice nodded in agreement. "True. I'm weirded out by that and I can tell judging by your eyes." She chuckled, sighing in relief.
"So who can play as Willamina?" Vanessa asked them. "This is just my opinion, but I definitely see Toxa, Misha, or Mag playing that role. You three can make a good antagonist."
Mag shook her head. "Well, I don't mean to toot your own horn, but I'm more of a rapping girl."
"Same, but I'm more vocally trained for fuck's sake." Misha smirked.
"So that leaves Toxa. Thing is, she and Misha are on the same page here." Arreis added.
May began to analyze them as well, before turning to both Ryder and Nash. "What do you guys think?"
"If Toxa's okay with it, then sure." Ryder shrugged. "We still have other roles to fulfill."
Nash looked towards the other four boys. "And I think they've already made their choice, partners."
Toxa sighed as there was no good choice left. "Fine, I'll do it." She looked at the front page. "Beatrice can be the Patti Page voice over."
"What does she do?"
"She'll sing only about… one verse." Toxa answered. "In the beginning."
"Okay, got it."
At this rate, the four boys have joined the team.
"Pierre's doing Max so I'm assuming that Toxa will be doing Willamina?" Robert asked.
"Yup." Toxa asked. "And Beatrice will be doing Patti Page's voice over."
"So we still have the eight background characters before the other roles?" Rival summed it up, Ryder nodding in response. "I'll be one of the background characters."
Arreis grabbed a list of names and began crossing some names out. "Colin?"
"Yeah, why not." He answered, without putting much emotion into his answer.
"I'll help out on that one." Mag offered.
"Same here, bitches." Misha added.
"Me too." May raised her hand.
Arreis crossed out some more names. "That's six, I'll help too so I'm adding in myself. We need two more."
"I'll go for it." Ryder said. "I'll also be a video editor if you guys need one."
"I'll be a background character too, partners!" Nash cheered.
Arreis nodded. "I can help Ryder with video editing. So now we need a director, a costume designer, a set designer, a sound director, and some cameramen."
"I'll be the director." Robert offered, lending his hand out, cueing Toxa to give him the script.
"You sure?" Arreis asked.
"Trust me on this one, guys." The veteran gave a small smile as the others nodded.
"I can be in charge of the sounds." Vanessa volunteered. "I know an app we can use to get some sound effects."
"Nice!" Arries grinned.
"...yeah right." Vanessa gave off a sarcastic scoff, causing Nash to chuckle in the back.
"I'll be the set designer. I already have ideas on where to film this thing." Mag declared, Arreis then gave her a thumbs up.
"So all we need is a costume designer and some cameramen." The veteran checked.
"I can be the costume designer." May volunteered. "I may have an idea for costumes we can use since the backstage in the auditorium has a closet."
"Alright, anyone else who doesn't have an acting role can be the cameramen." Robert announced. "We can do this, guys."
MAJOR B & MINOR B (Sami, Adala, Sybil, Zack, Carter, Gabe, Therion, Janice, Arabelle, Antoinette, Lyle, Gordon, Oli)
Team B were also seated on the seats, staring intently at each other of who was going to make the first move until Zack stood up.
"Hmm… Late At Night… interesting… so… does anyone here have experience in acting?" Zack asked them.
"I do!" Sybil raised her hand.
"Same here, but I think I'll do better on props." Adala added.
"To add into what Adala said, I also have some ideas for the set." Carter declared.
Zack chuckled at the responses. "Guess Adala and Carter will be our set designers then. Anyone else have experience in acting?"
No one made a sound. Either they didn't want to have a role or they weren't confident enough.
Zack examined the script thoroughly. "There are only two roles here, but it seems like we're gonna have a hard time on the effects and editing."
"I can be a video editor." Therion volunteered. "But I'm gonna need someone to help me out."
Gordon placed a hand on the gamer's shoulder. "You can count on me then."
"Great!" Zack cheered at their replies. "Looks like we're filling up these roles faster than I thought. Who'll take care of the effects though?"
"I can help out with the lighting." Gabe volunteered. "It shouldn't be too hard."
"Maybe I could try to think of some effects on the set." Lyle jutted his chin. "What effects will we be using?"
"Hmm…" Zack skimmed the papers. "Doors will slam shut, maybe some wind effects, and some ominous sounds."
"Very well then. I'll handle the effects." the ballerino settled.
"I think I'll be able to add some sounds." Antoinette added. "Can I be the sound director?"
"Yeah sure, why not." Zack shrugged.
Antoinette smirked to herself… without knowing that Beatrice and May were eyeing her intently from the other side.
Zack began writing in the back of the script with a pen, before he realized something. "Are we allowed to write in this paper?"
Chef heard his question from the stage and nonchalantly gave him a thumbs-up before walking out.
"Oh okay." He nodded slowly, writing the names of his team on the back. "To sum it up, we've got Adala and Carter as set designers, Gabe for the light effects, Therion and Gordon for video editing, and Antoinette for the sounds."
"Wait, what will I do?" Arabelle asked him, although it sounded like she was demanding an answer. Zack wasn't fazed by this however, as he was already aware of her attitude.
"Well, can you act?" The gentleman asked back.
"No."
"Can you pick out costumes and do makeup?"
"I- no."
"Can you add effects to the video?"
"I don't know."
"Then you're a cameraman." Zack finally decided after what seemed like a debate between the two, with Lyle facepalming in the back.
Zack (Major B): "I'm really not a fan of Arabelle since Day 1. And it's not a surprise that Lyle looked so done with her, too. Glad that I'm not on her team. Unless…"
Everyone in the team fell silent as the only voices were now heard came from the opposite team, until Oli decided to break it.
"I'm volunteering as another cameraman."
Zack nodded at his statement, pleased to see how quick they were able to fill up the roles compared to the other team. "Okay, who can be the costume designer?"
"I'll try that." Sami volunteered. "Might not really be a pain to do so."
"Hey, how come Sami gets a decent role while I get to be a cameraman?" Arabelle shot up.
"Because you said you don't know how to pick costumes or put on makeup on others and besides, I trust Sami on this role more than you."
Everyone fell silent once more as they showed shocked expressions on their faces.
Zack (Major B): "I think I went a bit too far on that one, didn't I?" He sighed. "This is gonna end really badly."
Zack cleared his throat as soon as he didn't get a response. "I mean, let's decide on the acting roles now, shall we?"
"Not until you answer my question first, Sanchez." Arabelle stood up.
"Ugh, not again…" Janice groaned, not wanting to hear another tantrum from the girl.
Arabelle looked around towards the other teens. "Do we have a director?"
Zack flipped through the back of the papers before letting out a sigh. "Not yet."
"Then make me the director."
"Oh ho, I wouldn't really allow that if I were you." Lyle warned everyone. "She is one of the reasons why our team keeps losing."
"Says you and your wee little pea-brain." Arabelle scoffed.
"SHUSH!" Zack hissed towards his team aggressively, he has never acted aggressive before but this was a time to do so. "Fine. You will be the director, but if you flop, Adala will be the director instead. Sybil and I will be the actors, and Janice, just help out with effects or something."
Janice tilted her head. "But-"
"No. That is final." He said in a harsh tone before walking out of the auditorium, prompting stares from his team, the other teams, the hosts, and everyone in general.
Sami (Major B): "This is the second time Zack has walked out of the auditorium. Something's not right here, so I think I'm gonna have to follow him."
"Look what you've done, Arabelle." Antoinette spat. "You made Zack walk out and now we are going nowhere. Thanks a lot."
"Well, since she is the director, why don't you lead us, then?" Carter eyed the girl suspiciously. It was clear to everyone that as of this rate, no one likes her attitude.
Carter (Major B): "Make her lead. Make her be the director. If she flops, she's gone and we'll have Adala as the director instead. Kind of a clever plan, huh?" He smirks towards the camera. "I feel bad for Minor B for having someone like her on their team."
"Fine then." Arabelle crossed her arms as she stood up in front of them, Adala giving off a disapproving look on the side. "What are your suggestions?"
"Shouldn't you be making the suggestion first here as a director?" Gabe opposed.
"Well, what are you guys planning then?" She asked back, examining her nails in the process.
"I think Gabe is right, honestly." Therion piped in. "We can't go anywhere without you telling your plans first."
Antoinette smirked from the side. It looks like everyone was unintentionally roasting Arabelle, this could be her ticket to elimination and she wouldn't have anything to do to fight it.
However, Sami sighed to herself, and without further hesitation, she hurried away from the theater without anyone looking.
Hallways
"Zack?" A voice trailed from the hallway, which belonged to no one other than Sami. She sauntered hurriedly on the halls, trying to look for her teammate. "Zack, please tell me what is going on!"
She then turned her head just by a corridor, and saw him just sitting down on the floor staring at the wall. She took the time to approach him and sat next to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know." Zack sighed to himself. "I think I was just being pressured. I mean, I'm surprised that Minor B managed to get this far while having this awful bond on their team. You know, what if our team and their team is actually grouped for the future episodes?"
Sami saw what he meant, although she didn't know how to put it in words, she tried her best to reply. "Well, we just have to go with the flow. If we have to merge with them, so be it. We just need to look into things positively and hope that they will change. Mostly Arabelle."
"Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to apologize to them for walking out. But, I think I need to think this through first, so can you handle them at least before we start filming?"
"Well, we've finished planning so… I think it's safe to say that you'll return tomorrow so that everything will be fine." Sami answered. "But I'll try my best if there are any concerns."
"Okay, thanks Sami." Zack smiled and the two left the hallways.
Night 5, 6:00 PM
Challenge Phase #2 - Setting (Both Teams)
Backstage Studio
Mag, May, and Beatrice were all in the backstage studio, browsing through the makeup kits seen in the tables that they could use.
"Wait, why am I here again?" Beatrice asked the two. May was the costume designer and Mag was the set designer so it didn't make any sense on why she was with them.
"Well, we're planning to record your voice over once everything has been set." Mag answered, skimming in her copy of the script. "Besides, it's best to get a head start."
May darted her eyes towards the clothes racket that stood off to the far end of the room. She approached it, and her hands trailed up to a black cloak.
"Hey, we could use these for the background characters." She squeaked.
Mag heard her and walked towards her with Beatrice following suit. "Looks good, but we're gonna need like, eight of these."
"Why don't we look for some in the closet over there?" Beatrice pointed towards a walk-in closet just adjacent from the clothing rack.
Mag nodded and led the trio. "Let's have a look."
The three girls stepped gingerly into the closet. It was dark, too dark to comprehend how big it is. Beatrice slid her hand down the wall for a light switch, and flicked it on once she found it.
The closet was fairly big enough to be considered a walk-in closet. There were two clothing racks on each side, and each was so long that the closet could be mistaken for some sort of secret hallway.
May found something black in the corner of her eye and walked in towards where she saw it.
Bingo.
"Looks like I was right." May smiled to herself, looking at the additional black cloaks similar to the one she saw earlier.
Mag took a gander as well and counted each cloak as if she were in a clothes store. "One… two… three…"
"Four… five…" Beatrice counted as well. "Six…"
"Seven…" May concluded. "Plus that one outside, so that's eight."
"Nice, looks like we need to worry about the costumes for Pierre and Toxa now." Mag nodded. "As well as the makeup and Beatrice's recording."
"What about that?" Beatrice pointed out in the other clothing rack.
The girls looked over a navy blue suit and matching slacks neatly placed on a hanger, as well as a cashmere overcoat behind it. A black, rabbit fur fedora was also placed on top of the overcoat.
"Looks like we could use this for Pierre's costume." Mag stated as she looked at the script. "It fits the clothing description on what Max Shelton wore during this scene."
"So we need to worry about Toxa's costume then?" Beatrice said, getting the black cloaks and Pierre's costume from the clothing racks with the help of May. "What does Willamina wear?"
"Hmm… it says here, 'an ill-fitting apron and ragged clothes that define her curvaceous figure'." Mag jutted her chin. "Well, we could just borrow an apron from the kitchen. Not sure if there are any ragged clothes here."
Mag then looked towards a white shirt and black leggings neatly folded on a shelf from the end of the closet. "We could make those clothes look ragged." She pointed. "They never told us that we could do something to the clothes." She added with a smirk, grabbing the folded clothes with her free hand.
The three girls exited the closet and placed the clothes on a table. May found a bag from the side that they could put the clothes in and the other two obliged. "Let's just see what we could make use of this." She added, grabbing a makeup kit that was closed and placed it on the bag. "So… recording time?"
"Yup." Mag said, grabbing her phone out and clicking the voice recorder app, thus handing her phone and the script over to Beatrice.
The timid seer took the phone cautiously, and began studying the lyrics. May also searched the song on her own phone and played the music.
"Ah, this shouldn't be too hard." Beatrice nodded.
"So, you ready?" May asked her.
"Yup."
"Let's start!" Mag cheered as Beatrice pressed the record button and started recording. As Beatrice recorded, Mag began writing down some possible filming locations such as the backyard, the lobby, and even the team houses.
Theater Lobby
Adala, Carter, and Sami had just reentered the theater that evening and headed for the staircase.
"I've never been into the second floor before." Adala remarked as they went up the stairs.
"Me neither." Carter nonchalantly responded. "So what's our goal? I honestly don't trust Arabelle in being the director, at least you know how to handle these kinds of things."
Carter (Major B): "That doesn't mean I trust her."
"Props are my thing, and finding a setting for this scene wouldn't be too hard." Adala said, looking at the script every now and then. "Hm… why don't we go up on the third floor?"
Sami nodded. "Third floor it is, then."
Adala led the three up on the third floor. The halls looked the same as the last two floors, but the atmosphere in there was really quiet compared to the other two.
"I wonder if you could access the auditorium from here." Sami wondered.
Carter shook his head. "Doubt it. I'm pretty sure you can access it from the second floor, but not here. I think this is where the hosts' headquarters are."
Adala looked around, a smirk forming on the improviser's lips. "This is perfect. It looks like there's an empty room over there. We can use that for the slamming door effects thing Lyle's gonna do." She looked at the script again. "Hey, Sami! Looks like you're not gonna have a hard time looking for costumes."
"How come?" Sami approached the improviser and looked at the script as well.
"We'll probably just pick an appropriate costume for Zack since it doesn't really say what Boyner's wearing. As for Sybil, maybe just look for something easy to reveal a cut on the shoulder area since it says here that Geraldine had a cut." Adala answered.
"Well… not sure if I know how to put on makeup that will look like a cut, but I'll try." Sami replied, not too keen on doing the makeup on the characters. She genuinely thought that she was doing the costumes and that was it.
Meanwhile, Carter opened the empty room that Adala assumed. It was indeed empty. The room was small, had white walls, wooden flooring, and a huge window covered in pristine white curtains.
Carter had already read the script that afternoon, so he imagined all the things that could happen if they put that scene to life.
Carter (Major B): "Someone is going to go in here and lock the door since there's a part that the door will lock by itself. Then it will open in a split second after finding out it was locked." He then realized something. "Wait, how are we gonna unlock it that quick without making a single sound?" He smacked his forehead. "This is hard. But that problem between me and Mag is harder."
Adala and Sami headed towards the room where Carter was standing.
"Something the matter, Carter?" Adala asked him.
"Just wondering," Carter began, approaching the doorknob. He pressed the lock with a loud click sound following it. He then turned the doorknob and an even louder click was heard. "How are we going to unlock it in a split second without making a sound? It'll be obvious that someone's behind the door."
"...What?" Sami raised an eyebrow, seemingly confused by the question.
"Well, Antoinette is the sound director after all, maybe she can edit it out. If not, we can have Therion or Gordon filter or overlap it with another sound as they are the video editors." Adala said.
"Also for the lighting, maybe Gabe can handle it, huh?" Carter asked. "I think we should work on some additional props or something."
"Good idea. At least we have a filming location." Adala nodded. "Let's look for the costumes now, shall we?"
Both Sami and Carter agreed with their statement and headed back downstairs to the backstage studio. No one was there, and it was most likely that Mag, May, and Beatrice had already left.
"The costumes should be simple." Adala remarked. "Our scene is not gonna be that complicated."
"Hmm, but have you realized that ours is pretty uneventful?" Sami questioned.
Adala and Carter looked at her dumbfoundedly.
"Huh?" Carter asked.
"Well, put it this way." Sami began. "It's more of a dialogue than a scene. It's just Geraldine trying to stop Boyner from entering the room. I've heard about the other team's screenplay and they have an actual plot going on."
Adala sighed in frustration but regained her composure. "I get what you mean, Sami. The thing is, I don't think we'll have time for that."
"We'll just add a scene of why would Geraldine stay away from the room." Sami suggested. "You know, have her be attacked in the room, escape from it, and hide until Boyner finds her."
Adala nodded, agreeing with her suggestion. "The thing is, I think Sybil will have a hard time with this since she's the one acting as Geraldine. And who do you think should be the attacker?"
Carter interrupted the girls as he walked towards them, some clothes in his arms. A beige sweater, black sweatpants, and a white strappy dress. He placed them in a bag and chuckled. "You two lowkey made me the costume designer now."
"Sorry, Carter." Sami chuckled nervously.
Day 6, 8:00 AM
Challenge Phase #3 - Filming (Both Teams)
MAJOR A & MINOR A - Backyard
Fast forward to the next day. Everyone was now awake as of this time to get a head start on filming.
Robert was seen in a director's chair, complete with a few umbrellas behind him while trying to get two cameras to work. "Do these even work?"
"Of course they do! I borrowed them from the freaking interns!" Vanessa yelled back with her sarcastic tone.
"Maybe you got clowned and they gave you the broken ones, ma'am." Robert joked, but Vanessa just rolled her eyes.
"Whatever." The pianist huffed, before slamming the camera hard a few times with her hand until the screen went on. "HOLY CRAP, I ACTUALLY MADE IT WORK-"
"See?" Robert chuckled. "I knew you could do it. Now fix this one." He said, handing Vanessa the other camera. "I can't believe I have to be the director and a cameraman."
"Well, everyone else had roles, so what?" Vanessa deadpanned.
"Except me." Beatrice approached them, with Mag's phone in hand. "Hey guys, wanna hear the recording I did last night?"
"Sure. Let's hear it while we wait for the others." Robert nodded as the three began listening to Beatrice's recording.
Major A Room
Meanwhile, the rest of Team A were putting on their costumes. But the camera pans to Colin, who was smirking on his copy of the script.
Colin (Major A): "I take back what I said yesterday and I'm glad I didn't get the role of Max. In the last scene, Max is hanging on chains, completely naked, while us the eight background characters- or neighbors, wait, why the hell are the neighbors wearing these cloaks? Well anyway, they suck his blood from surgical tubes like vampires or something like that. I don't know how they are going to make that work since I just saw Mag enter the room with a bottle of ketchup and several straws but one thing I'm glad about is that I'm just part of the background. Good luck, Pierre." He smirks.
Colin snickers to himself, adjusting his long black cloak. "You know, why do the neighbors wear a black cloak in the last scene?"
"I don't know." Arreis shrugged, placing the cloak's hood over her head. "Maybe it's just to make things look menacing."
"Damn, partners!" Nash said, checking himself out on the mirror, wearing his own black cloak. "I didn't know these lubbers can make us look spurdy for darn toothin'!"
Ryder sighed as he put on some hair gel. He was already wearing his cloak as well. "Sometimes I thought he was more of a pirate than a cowboy."
"Same. Can't blame him though, these cloaks do look cool." Rival added. He was on a chair as May was fixing his spiky hair with a comb from behind. Both of them were also in cloaks.
"Well, you're welcome for that." She laughed. "I'm the costume designer after all."
"Technically, not costume designer." Mag replied. She was still in her casual clothes as she was putting the straws together by a nearby desk. "We just saw those in the closet in the theater."
"Hey bitch, help me out, I think I just broke the zipper of this shit." Misha ranted towards Mag while repeatedly yanking the zipper of the cloak all the way up.
"You idiot! Don't yank it up like that!" Mag sighed and swatted Misha's hand away, prompting a chuckle from Arreis. "It's just stuck, that's all."
Mag then made a few adjustments such as stretching the cloak, smoothing it out, and otherwise, before yanking the zipper up carefully.
Suddenly some knocks were heard on the door.
"Ugh, what the hell is it!?" Toxa shouted, putting her colored hair up in a ponytail. She wore the white shirt and black leggings but it looks as if there weren't any damages made to it yet for it look ragged. "Can't you see? Toxa is busy!" She added, grabbing a pair of scissors and made a few snips on her leggings and on the hem of her shirt.
"Uh… Robert told me to tell you all to hurry up! Pierre just arrived and he's the only one outside with Robert and Vanessa." Beatrice was heard from the other side of the door. "Oh! And I just borrowed this apron from Dustin back in the cafeteria."
"About damn time." Toxa rolled her eyes, opening the door and grabbed the apron off of Beatrice's hands. "Ey, hurry the hell up, y'all!"
The others all heard what Toxa said. They rushed up their final touches and exited the room. Mag also wore her own cloak but didn't zipper it as she had the straws and ketchup bottle on hand.
Back at the Backyard
"So what scene are we filming first?" Pierre asked Robert. The former wore the blue suit and matching slacks seen from earlier. The cashmere overcoat was on his arms. He also had the fedora on his head.
"Well, you're looking sharp." Robert chuckled. "Anyway, it's most likely that we'll be filming scenes that we'll be shooting inside the house."
Speaking of the house, the other nine teens had just exited out of the house and arrived at the set.
"Have you guys seen the other team?" Vanessa asked them.
"Nah." Toxa shook her head. "They probably left for the theater."
"Where should we head for first?" Misha asked.
Robert jutted a finger on his chin, as he stared at a copy of the filming locations Mag had written. "Pierre, Toxa, follow us. We're shooting in the house. Vanessa, bring the cameras. The rest of you guys, stay here and memorize your scripts."
As soon as they heard his instructions, they began doing as they were told. The teens in cloaks all sat in a circle on the grass while the four aforementioned went in the house to film.
MAJOR B & MINOR B - Theater, Hosts' Headquarters (Third Floor)
The camera pans to Antoinette, who had her hand on the doorknob that Carter was pondering about yesterday. Adala was inspecting from the other side of the door.
"Yeah, I can try to edit the sound out." Antoinette answered. "But I'm not sure if that would work. Guess I'll be the one who will handle the door."
"Alright then." Adala nodded before turning her attention to the others. "Where's Arabelle?"
Oli came in, holding two cameras with both hands, almost dropping one of them. "I don't know where she is."
"Well then go and find her! Tell her that we have to start soon!" Adala retorted aggressively.
The veteran noticed her sudden aggressiveness and quickly nodded, making his way out of the room to find their teammate.
Adala (Major B): "Wow, no one was kidding when they said that this challenge will put you into pressure."
Second Spare Room (Third Floor)
In the spare room next to where the others were at, we now can see Sami was helping Sybil put on her dress by pulling up the zipper.
"You know Sami," Sybil began as she looked at her own reflection in the mirror. "This is the first time that I'm acting again ever since my accident last year."
"Oh… what happened?" Sami asked, grabbing the makeup kit and gesturing to the other girl to sit down on a chair.
"I- Well," Sybil began, taking a deep breath. "I was on my way to the filming venue during that time. I never knew that the driver of the vehicle was drunk so we crashed into another vehicle leading to a pretty major car accident. I even had to undergo an operation on my leg. It's still a bit hard for me to walk even up to this day."
Zack widened his eyes from the other side of the room. Were his speculations true?
Sami noticed that something was up as well. "Um… I don't mean to ask but… when did it happen?" The main reason why she asked this was that she wanted to know if this was linked to what happened to her as well.
"Last year. Back in Orlando, on that intersection in 4th Street. That was the last time I ever filmed. I never did it again." Sybil answered sadly.
Sami (Major B): Her eyes were extremely wide. "What? But… that was where my accident happened too! Last year! Before… before Ashley died… I don't think I can look at Sybil now. I mean, it wasn't her fault but…" she shook her head. "No. That's too coincidental. I just… maybe I was overthinking."
Sami didn't say a word. As soon as Sybil noticed it, she grew worried.
"A-are you okay, Sami?"
"I'm fine. Let's just talk about something else or not talk at all." The soprano retorted in a stern manner, which obviously startled the alto.
"Are you sure you're okay-"
"I'm fine. Don't even worry about me." She said with her stern expression as she began to apply some makeup on the girl's shoulder to make it look like a cut.
Zack continued to witness their gradually down interaction and didn't like what he was hearing at all. So, he straightened up the beige sweater Carter gave him to wear and cleared his throat.
"You girls ready?"
"Yeah. Let's go." Sami quickly said and proceeded to head out, promoting worried looks from the two.
Storage Room
"Hey guys, look at this." Gabe approached Lyle and Janice in the storage room as the two looked for some props that they could use. The veteran seemed to be holding some controller of sorts.
Janice raised an eyebrow towards the small controller he was holding. It was just about the size of his hand with a big yellow button on top. "I assume that this is for the lights?"
"Bingo, you got it!" Gabe cheered. "It will make the flickering lights effect a bit easier than by using a light switch."
Lyle jutted his chin. From the looks of it, he seemed pretty uncertain about Gabe's decision in making a controller for the lights. "Well… I don't know, Gabe. Have you tested it out?"
"Well, not yet." Gabe shook his head. "If we did test it out, I'm giving Janice the chance to use it during filming!" He added. "I don't think she has contributed anything yet and I'd hate for her to get eliminated because of it so, Janice, be my guest."
The veteran handed the controller to the dancer. Janice gulped at this, but forced a small smile.
Janice (Minor B): "I'm not sure about this… what if I mess up and fail?"
Lyle (Minor B): "Gabe… I don't think I can trust him. Yes, he may seem useful, but that move he pulled… I think it's pretty fishy to be honest."
Back in the Hosts' Headquarters (Third Floor)
Meanwhile, Therion and Gordon were sitting on the stairs. Therion had a laptop in front of him as both boys were waiting anxiously for something.
"I thought you said that there was already a video editing application installed in it?" Gordon asked.
"There was!" Therion answered, sounding a bit panicky. "Until it crashed-"
Therion was cut off as they both witnessed the screen of the laptop fading to black.
"Nononononono-" Therion panicked again.
"We are so dead." Gordon sighed.
"Oh, looks like we're going to fail. Ooh la la." A snarky, sarcastic voice was heard behind them.
Gordon stood up and clenched his fist. "You're behind this Arabelle, aren't you!?"
"Whoa, chill. Just came to say hi." Arabelle chuckled. "Looks like you're gonna have a problem and it definitely doesn't concern me."
"Aren't you supposed to be the director?" Therion retorted. "Because if you are, that is not how you should treat your staff."
"There you are." Oli was heard from the entrance. "Adala's looking for you guys, come on."
Both Therion and Gordon both glanced at each other in worry and followed the veteran. Arabelle just rolled her eyes and followed suit.
MAJOR A & MINOR A - Backyard
Pierre, Toxa, Vanessa, and Robert had just exited the house and finished filming some of the scenes. The four approached the teens in cloaks, who were still seated in a circle memorizing their only parts.
"How was filming?" Mag asked the newly arrived teens.
"Pretty good. The scenes were easy to film." Robert nodded as he watched the scenes recorded in his camera.
May smiled at this, knowing that they'll finish in no time. "So what's the next scene to film?"
"We're filming the intro later once it's night." Vanessa informed them. "So I think we're gonna film the hardest scene now."
"What scene is that?" Rival asked. "Oh wait… this isn't the last scene, isn't it?"
"You're right." Toxa answered. "So how are we gonna do the straws?"
Misha was helping Mag put the straws together.
"Bitch, I don't think this is gonna work." Misha said. "I think we're gonna have to improvise."
"But isn't that improvising though?" Ryder jutted his chin. "I mean, we don't have surgical tubes to begin with."
"What about the chains?" Beatrice wondered.
Mag quickly had an answer to that. "We're going to the basement to film that. There are chains there."
"There's a basement in the house?" Nash widened his eyes. "Damn, partner. Wasn't expecting that!"
"Well, I don't understand how surprising that is…" Colin muttered. "We are definitely going to lose."
"If you keep up that act, we're really going to lose." Arreis snapped. "Just do what we're supposed to do."
"Yeah, let's go." Robert ordered before things were starting to get out of hand. Everyone stood up and followed them towards the basement of the Major team's house.
They entered the hallway and went down a staircase. Since the Majors were living there, Arreis took the initiative to unlock the basement door.
"Voila!" Arreis smirked.
The basement looked completely dull. It was extremely dark. Even the single light bulb hanging from the ceiling did not help as things were still dark. There were a few chains hanging on the walls as well as eight chairs surrounding the area.
"Yup. Good job, Mag." Robert praised, as the set for this scene had already been set up.
"It's as dark as shit! How the fuck were you able to see through all this?!" Misha widened her eyes in astonishment.
Mag just nonchalantly held up a flashlight.
"...Never mind." Misha said, realizing what she just did.
Pierre approached the chains and tugged them gently. "So… how am I supposed to do this?"
Vanessa and May were getting the straws and ketchup ready from the side with Mag.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Vanessa asked, her eyes darting towards Pierre.
"What? I'm just gonna tie myself up on these chains right?" Pierre asked, seemingly not aware of what he was supposed to do.
Vanessa facepalmed. "No you idiot. You're supposed to be doing the scene naked."
"Oh, yeah… wait- WHAT!?" Pierre shouted and widened his eyes, not believing what she just said. "Please tell me you're joking-"
Rival tossed a script towards Pierre out of nowhere which startled him.
"It's on the last page. We read it earlier." He added.
"Naked, hanging from thick chains secured to ceiling anchors, Max regains consciousness. He sobs and gargles through a tight gag crudely made from his own underwear."
"...holy fuck-" Pierre swore. "What if- why- c-can I just do it… you know… fully clothed?"
Ryder was eyeing him from head to toe. "Maybe we can have him in his underwear if it's too much."
"Okay, I think I'm gonna be sick after filming." Beatrice commented.
"Of course we are. We are guaranteed on failing this challenge if we don't find an alternate way to film this scene." Colin pointed out.
Arreis nodded. "Colin has a point."
"Worst part is that I'm gonna insert these straws into you, Pierre." Toxa shrugged.
"What-"
"I mean, tape them onto you." Toxa sighed. "GOD, WHY IS IMPROVISING SO FUCKING HARD!?"
"Well, it's hardER if you're the one assigned to do most of the improvising! Like, hello!" Mag retaliated, taping all the long connected straws on the chains with the help of Nash and Rival, with the former dropping the tape dispenser on the latter's foot in the process.
"Ow!"
"Whoops, sorry partner!"
"So now what?" Pierre asked them nervously.
Robert was thinking how this should go. "Well, we have no choice. Take your clothes off."
"WhAt!" Pierre shrieked. "Do I really have to?"
"Well one, we have no choice." May told him.
"And two," Mag held up a finger. "This is payback for the cooking incident."
Pierre sighed. "Fine. Just… this is just between us okay?"
"Bitch, we are filming here. Of course everyone's gonna watch it unless the judges are planning to watch it in private." Misha blurted out.
Hearing this, Pierre quivered his lips, looking as if he was about to cry.
Ryder facepalmed. "Great job, Misha! You just made him feel worse."
"Well you motherfucker should've thought about how Beatrice and May felt when you made out with Antoinette last night!"
Everyone fell silent.
Misha (Minor A): "Wait… so that wasn't a rumor?" She gasped. "Oh shit…"
Beatrice and May exchanged glances while Ryder even looked uneasy at the situation. As everyone else was still quiet, Pierre just sighed and turned back, his face filled with embarrassment. "L-let's just get this over with." He said before stripping off his clothes.
MAJOR B & MINOR B - Hosts' Headquarters
"ACTION!" Adala's voice was heard from the other side of the hallway.
Oli came in rushing with his camera to get the scene in production.
"WAIT! CUUUUT!" Adala shouted.
Zack scratched the back of his head. "Already? We haven't even started yet!"
"Yeah, where's the other cameraman?" Adala eyed everyone one by one. She then turned towards Arabelle, who was standing next to her, arms crossed like a boss. "Hey, aren't you supposed to be the other cameraman?"
"No, I'm supposed to be the director. Yet your fat boasting ass had to sit on the director's chair." Arabelle snapped.
"Fucking idiot. You can't even be a goddamn director due to that attitude you're bringing!" Adala got into the other girl's face. "Janice, make yourself useful and be the other cameraman."
Janice widened her eyes at the order. "O-okay, just give me a sec-"
"Now." Adala huffed.
Janice (Minor B): "I never knew Adala could get scary when she's mad…" she shudders.
Janice then arrived at the scene, shakily holding the camera with her shaky fingers.
Once Adala saw that everyone was ready, she turned her attention back to the actors. "Alright. Take two! Action!"
Gabe (Major B): "Have I told you all that they decided to add an extra role where it shows that Geraldine was 'attacked' in the beginning? Yeah, that is the attacker. And… I'm the one who's gonna play it. And since Janice became a cameraman, I gave the controller to Lyle." The veteran sighed. "It's not easy to switch roles but, let's see."
Inside the Spare Room
Antoinette and Lyle were both behind the door the rest were in front of a moment ago.
"Do you think Adala was yelling at them?" Antoinette randomly asked, prompting a look of confusion on Lyle.
"Why would you ask that?"
The diva facepalmed. "This is just taking way too long. I won't even be surprised if the other team had finished filming by now."
Lyle pressed his ear against the door and nodded. "Yup. They're starting. Get ready."
The two scuffled to their positions, mainly both behind the door as Gabe would enter in advance due to his scene.
Knock knock knock!
Antoinette quickly opened the door and let Gabe in; the veteran seemingly nervous. Oli also followed as he got his camera ready on the side for filming.
"They're filming Sybil right now and the attack scene is getting closer. I don't think I can do this." Gabe sighed.
"You got this." Lyle encouraged him. "Sure the attack scene may seem kinda… well… rapey according to Adala and Sami, but all you're gonna do is grab Sybil and pin her down to the floor until she gets away, there."
Antoinette was peeking through the small opening of the door and gasped as she saw Carter flashing a thumbs-up to her as a sign to get ready.
"Shit Lyle, Sybil's coming!" She called out, tugging the ballerino by the ear and pulling him behind the door.
"Wait, already?" Oli jerked up.
Lyle rubbed his ear in pain.
Lyle (Minor B): "Why does it always have to be my ear?"
Gabe rubbed his hands nervously and put on the hood of his black hoodie so that his face wouldn't be easily seen. He ran and hid himself behind the white curtains, just in time as Sybil entered, in character. Oli also activated his camera as well, as Janice can also be seen shakily filming from outside the room.
Both Antoinette and Lyle examined how well Sybil was handling her scene as she walked up to the curtains. They knew that she used to have a thing for acting, but they couldn't help but feel nervous for both her and Gabe.
Speaking of Gabe, the two almost gasped in shock by how the veteran handled his part. He opened up the curtains and ran up to Sybil, grabbing her, causing the girl to gasp.
"Ahhh! No! Let go!" Sybil shouted as her character.
"...No." Gabe said ominously as he pushed her up against the wall, Oli making sure to capture the scene perfectly as it would be a waste if this wasn't good enough.
"Stop-!" Sybil screamed again, attempting to push him off, but instead, Gabe threw her down to the floor. He then pinned her to the ground and got on top of her. She then began crying. "Please, just stop!"
"No! You stop!" Gabe shouted as well but grunted a bit as Sybil pushed him away and got up. The veteran tugged her arm, but failed as she then ran away, Oli and Janice following her after as cameramen.
Gabe sighed and leaned back against the wall, out of character. "How was it, guys?"
"I don't know what the hell you were so nervous about. You literally handled that part like a professional! You have my respect!" Lyle bowed.
"Ah geez, no need to be so formal." Gabe blushed. "But yeah, thanks."
Hosts' Headquarters
Carter had a checklist on his hand. So far, two scenes have been filmed successfully in one take, and now was the scene that Zack will soon enter.
"Cut!" Adala shouted. "Okay, I gotta admit, you guys did a good job." She added, giving a short round of applause. "Since we've managed to film all the impromptu scenes, do you guys have any thoughts so far on the performance? The set? The effects?"
Carter continued to jot down some notes on his checklist. "I just realized that we didn't used that much effects on the lighting."
Adala nodded her head. "Oh yeah… just remembered that Gabe was the one assigned for the lighting."
"Well, what did Arabelle do?" Carter asked, intently eyeing the girl he mentioned, who just returned with a scoff.
"What's your problem? Why don't you just mind your own business?" Arabelle spat.
"Well, at least I am minding my own business." Carter shot back, leaving Arabelle speechless for the first time.
Carter (Major B): He rubbed his hands vigorously. "I am just giving her the taste of her own medicine."
"Therion? Sami? Gordon?" Adala asked the three.
Both Therion and Gordon both shook their heads no, but Sami looked as if she had something to say.
"Let's finish this. I'll get to my point later after filming." Sami added as Zack got into his position.
Night 6, 7:30PM
MAJOR A/MINOR A - Major House (Basement)
Meanwhile, the team were in an… awkward scene right now. Pierre was tied up in chains and was only in his underwear like what was planned, instead of having him actually naked. His jacket was tied on his mouth, while all the teens in cloaks had the extremely long connected straws on their hands. It was also noticeable that May was holding the ketchup bottle.
Robert and Vanessa were both on opposite sides of the room filming everything while Beatrice was observing them completing the scene.
"And cut!" Robert declared as Toxa completed her last step. Everyone sighed in relief as they only had one more scene to do and then they'll go straight for editing.
Pierre snatched his clothes back from the cloaked teens and put them on, with a sour look plastered on his face.
"I am NEVER doing this again for the rest of my life." He huffed, before putting on his shirt.
"Well what's the last scene?" Toxa asked. "I'm not in it, am I?"
"Nah." Vanessa shook her head. "Max is the only character in the scene. It's just him getting out of his car and entering his house."
"Well, I guess it's time to say goodbye to this cloak, then?" Rival asked disappointingly. "Shame that this was the only scene we'll be using these."
"Right back at ya, partner." Nash sighed as well.
Beatrice decided to brighten the mood up. "You guys did good, be proud of that!"
"Yeah, y'all." Misha butted in, but instead earned a disapproving look from both Beatrice and May. Ryder noticed the growing tension between them, but decided to not step in.
Misha (Minor A): She was smacking her forehead. "Me and my big fat fucking mouth!"
"So let me guess, the rest of us aren't gonna be doing anything from now on?" Colin asked.
Mag glanced at him for a moment. "Um… not exactly…" she then thought about what she said. "Uh… yeah."
Colin sighed. "As expected." He added wih a shrug.
"Well, while you guys film the intro, Arreis and I will get the computer ready. I think there's one in the security room. I saw Gordon and Therion borrowed a laptop from the staff earlier." Ryder suggested.
"I'll go with you." Arreis said. "Oh, and Beatrice, I think you're gonna need to come with us so that you can insert the recording."
Beatrice just nodded before the three head out.. "Alright."
Mag was reading the script along with Rival and Nash.
"So it says here that Pierre has to get out of a car… where are we gonna get one?" Mag asked.
"I saw Chris' car parked outside, partner." Nash pointed out.
Rival formed a smirk on his face. "Maybe we could steal it for a while…"
"I don't think that's a good idea-"
"Great idea, Rival!" Robert praised, causing Mag to roll her eyes.
"Yeah, you three do it. Don't even bother dragging me into that." Mag scoffed.
"...yee to the haw." Nash commented.
MAJOR B/MINOR B - Lobby
As Team B were still filming, both Therion and Gordon took the oppotunity to have their laptop fixed as it won't be long before they start editing.
Therion just placed the laptop on a countertop. "I heard that Dustin can fix this. Not sure if that's true but we'll see."
"Yeah." Gordon nodded, turning his head to the entrance. Even though it was dark outside, he could still see through the door. Three boys were talking nearby a car. Gordon tapped the other boy's shoulder. "Uh… Therion?"
"Huh?" Therion asked, looking towards where he was looking. His eyes widened as he could see who was who. The three boys were Robert, Nash, and Rival. "Wait, what the heck are they doing out here?"
"Should we go to them?" Gordon asked, earning a suspicious stare from Therion. "You know… to kill time while Dustin isn't here."
"...yeah sure." Therion nodded. The two left the laptop and made their way to the three boys. "Hey!"
Nash jerked his head up upon seeing them. "Whoa! Whatcha doing here, partners?"
"Well we're gonna ask the same thing to you." Gordon answered with a suspicious look.
"We're stealing Chris' car." Rival answered nonchalantly.
"You're WHAT!?" Therion almost screamed at that second.
"Chill bro. It's just for our intro. Of course we'll park it to where it belongs." Robert assured. "Any of you guys know how to drive?"
"...kinda." Rival shrugged.
Gordon stared at the three of them before nodding. "Okay, time to go back. See ya." He waved and turned to leave.
"Yeah, see you guys tomorrow." Therion added and left with Gordon.
Hosts' Headquarters
"Good job, everyone." Carter declared. "We're finally done with filming. Congrats."
Zack wiped the sweat off of his forehead. "Oh if only everyone in this team had participated." He groaned, referring to Arabelle.
"Hey, I did something!" Arabelle scoffed and crossed her arms as if arguing was part of her daily routine.
"Yeah you did." Adala smiled sarcastically. "You literally just stood there the whole time we were filming. You couldn't even bother to be the cameraman, so stop being so obnoxious."
Before Arabelle could say something absurd, Antionette intervened.
"Therion and Gordon should be here by now." She pointed out.
"Maybe they had to look for Dustin?" Gabe wondered.
Lyle nodded in agreement. "That seems just about it." He turned his head towards Janice, who was sitting off to the side with her face buried on her knees. He took the opportunity to sit next to her. "...you alright?"
"No. I did terrible on everything." She shook her head.
Something was up.
Soon, both groups have accomplished filming all their scenes needed. It was getting late in the night for them, so they all head out to sleep.
Day 7, 11:00 AM
Challenge Phase #4 - Editing
MAJOR A/MINOR A - Backyard
The teens of Team A have met once again in the backyard between the houses. They were all seated on the grass in a circle formation. Arreis and Ryder were noticeably absent in the team as they were going to edit the video in security room.
"What did you guys do last night, Beatrice?" May asked her friend.
"I just added my recording into the video." Beatrice fluffed her hair. "They already compiled all the clips together, so I'm not sure what are they editing right now."
"We definitely have this in the bag." Rival commented.
Robert let out a chuckle. "Unless if Chris found out that we used his car."
Rival widened his eyes. "Uh… about that…"
Nash on the other hand, was getting a bit worried. "Please tell me nothing bad happened to that, partner."
"I think it ran out of gas by the time I parked it on the parking lot." Rival said, adding a sheepish chuckle in the end.
Robert wasn't that worried, however. "It's fine. He won't notice it."
"Of course he will. We will get deducted for that." Colin retaliated.
"Colin has a point." Vanessa agreed. "Remember what happend to Arreis last season? You three can get disqualified for that. Especially Rival."
"Yeah. Let's pray that that doesn't happen." Rival sighed.
Misha chuckled. "Unless if he went ring-around-a-rosie on that bitch."
Mag raised an eyebrow. "A what?"
"...You've got no childhood." Misha stated as she layed down on the grass.
Toxa just stared at all of them. "I'm gonna go check up on Arreis and Ryder. Wanna come, Pierre?"
"Oh, hell no." Pierre immediately declined. "I don't want to see the video."
Toxa just shrugged and left.
Security Room
Meanwhile, Ryder and Arreis were on the security room, editing the video through a desktop. Ryder was on the one editing while Arreis was guiding him as she was holding the script.
"Which scene goes first again?" Ryder asked.
"The car scene." Arreis answered, but suddenly, something popped out of the veteran's mind. "Hey Ryder?"
"Yeah?"
"Did something happened between you and Antoinette last night?" She asked.
Ryder was immediately flustered. He knew what it was, but he was unable to control himself during that time. And he knew that Antoinette did not intend for that to happen either.
"Hmm… I want to know… why did you do that?" Arreis asked again, pressing the matter even further. "Because you know, May and Beatrice might have something for you, and it's not good to see two girls fight. And now that that happened with you and Antoinette… wait… did you even know?"
"Can we not talk about it?" He pleaded in a stern tone. "Please?"
Arreis just simply nodded.
"And I have one more request for you, Arreis." Ryder turned to her, a glare forming on his face. "I did not know what was going through me during that time. And Antoinette doesn't either. So just keep it to yourself. And also, try to not put your nose on the wrong places."
The veteran gulped, knowing that she should've shut her mouth instead of letting her own curiosity take over her way of thinking.
Arreis (Major A): "I knew it."
MAJOR B/MINOR B - Backstage
Team B had decided to meet up on the backstage since they have a few hours left before the judges get there. Like Team A, their video editors, Therion and Gordon, were absent.
"I wonder how will the video turn out." Antoinette wondered out loud.
Gabe frowned. "Maybe I didn't do so good as I thought it would be."
"Nah, you did pretty well to me." Adala praised. "I'm impressed! I'm glad you were the one I picked for that role."
"Agreed. You really nailed it!" Oli beamed. "I never thought that you were this good in acting since Act I."
"Thanks. Never thought I'd be either." Gabe smiled.
"Everyone did a good job in production in my opinion." Carter stated, bringing out some positivity for the first time. "Let's hope that Gordon and Therion won't fail us just like what Arabelle did."
Arabelle rolled her eyes and was about to say something but Lyle immediately stopped her. "Don't even think about starting up another fight."
"...whatever."
"Regardless of that, I'm really impressed that Sami managed to add some flourish into the performance." Zack added, causing a bright smile to form on Sami's face.
"To be honest, I was worried that adding that part in will make the production a whole mess, but it turns out, that wasn't the case!" Sami beamed. "So thanks everyone, I appreciate those who participated!"
"No problem, Sami!" Sybil grinned at her but Sami seemed to ignore her, causing her to wonder.
Staircase - 3rd Floor
Both Therion and Gordon were seated on the staircase without a laptop. It looks as if hey were waiting for someone.
Suddenly, Dustin emerged from below them. "Hey, sorry for being late." He said, handing Gordon the laptop. "I think it's fixed now."
"Let's see." Gordon muttered, opening up the laptop and accessing the video editing application while Dustin was watching. Therion grabbed the memory cards of the cameras they used out of his pocket and inserted one into the port. As soon as the screen lit up, they sighed in relief.
"Glad it didn't crash this time." Therion noted. "Now we can finally do our part."
"Cool. Thanks, Dust." Gordon thanked him.
Dustin smirked. "No problem, you two. If it ever crashes again, then you guys know where to find me."
"Will do. Thanks again!" Therion grinned before Dustin waved and left.
The two boys now focused themselves on the videos saved inside the memory card.
"Oh. This one is Oli's." Therion pointed out. "I heard from some of the veterans that he used to do some photography and filmography. Probably how he managed to film this so well."
"Yeah. Let's check the other one." Gordon said, saving the video clips to the laptop before inserting the second memory card.
Therion winced at the videos being shot. "Well… this one's… shaky."
Gordon clicked on another video clip and sighed. "This one too." He groaned. "Ugh… who the fuck filmed this? This is crap!"
"Janice did, remember? Arabelle was too lazy to film so Adala had no choice but to give Janice the job." Therion said.
Gordon sighed. "I feel bad but… I think I know who I'm gonna vote for."
Night 7, 6:00 PM
Challenge Phase #5 - Viewing (Everyone)
Auditorium
Night came after spending almost the whole day editing their films. Everyone now gathered up inside the auditorium to witness everything done by the contestants. The teens sat on the front row, Team A on the left side, and Team B on the right side. The judges were also present as they were now seated on the judges' table. The interns were also seen near the exits, and two of the mentors, namely Spear and Hali were sitting not too far from the judges.
Chris, Don, Chef, Blaineley, Brea, and Epi all head up on the stage to start the program.
"Good evening everyone!" Don greeted politely, whipping his hair back in the process whih caused Chris to roll his eyes. "We are now here with Challenge 3.2!"
"The teens have merged from four teams into two." Blaineley added.
"They have been tasked to reinact a short screenplay on the horror genre based on the scripts we have given them." Epi commented.
"Everyone also had different tasks individually." Brea said. "Some were tasked to be actors, while some are producers, designers, and the like."
"But the question is," Chef began. "Which team will win the challenge and who will be sent to elimination?"
"Oh, I have another question." Chris turned to them. "How come I don't get to say anything!?"
"That's because you were supposed to talk about the advantages, you twat." Don spat, causing Chris to grumble and murmur something that not even the camera could comprehend his words. "Anyway, video editors! May we now have the flash drives where you saved your films?"
Both Therion and Ryder went up the stage and handed Don their flash drives before going back to their respective seats.
"We will be viewing first the work of… Major A and Minor A!" Blaineley announced. "Their film is called1952, Drummer Street."
Team A all glanced at each other, hoping that they could pull this off while Pierre hid himself under the chair as the video started playing
Pierre (Minor A): "I can't watch this." He shuddered.
Performance #24 (Major A & Minor A)
Screenplay: 1952, Drummer Street by Wes Cravendale
An orange and cream 1952 Chevrolet Deluxe pulls onto the driveway of the detached, suburban house.
(Instead of an orange cream car as mentioned, an old rusty car parked in front of the theater.)
"Hey, that's my car!" Chris screamed, but he received shushing for an answer.
As that happens, Beatrice's recording plays in the background.
"You came down the aisle,
wearing a smile
- a vision of loveliness.
I uttered a sigh,
whispered goodbye,
goodbye to my happiness."
The music stops as, in the driver seat, Pierre [as MAX SHELTON (47)], portly, burst blood vessels in his cheeks and a drinker's nose, switches off the engine. He runs fingers through his greased, black hair - dyed to hide the gray. His navy blue suit creased from the drive, he reaches for a cashmere overcoat that he folds into the crook of his arm then plops a black, rabbit fur fedora onto his head.
Some of judges were also amazed by the camerawork they had.
He climbs out of the car and quietly nudges the door shut with his hip while he notes the overgrown front lawn, dead potted plants, peeling paintwork, and a boarded, broken bedroom window.
He pushes the front doorbell. The 'ding dong' slices through the quiet, causing him to glance at the other houses that flow in orderly lines either side of the road. Every one of the houses are dark as though all are in bed. He glances at his gold, automatic watch - sees it's 7:30.
The front door opens a crack and light from a half-burned candle melted to a small plate illuminates the black, highly chiseled features of Toxa [as WILLAMINA JACKSON (35)].
Toxa was seen inside the house as soon as Pierre enters and says his line. "The old man forget to pay the bill or something?"
"Power's been on and off ever since that new company took over, Mr. Shelton, suh." Toxa replied.
Toxa disappears into the darkness.
Pierre pushes open the door, winces at the ingratiating squeak afforded by the badly rusted hinges, and hesitates at the threshold - waiting for his eyes to adjust to the impenetrable darkness beyond.
"I can't see a damned-"
The lights in the hallway flare up and, with a satisfied grunt, Pierre steps inside, closing the door behind him. Arreis, Colin, Mag, May, Misha, Nash, Rival, and Ryder were all present, moving slowly toward number 1952.
Pierre hangs his hat and coat on an otherwise empty stand and, puzzled, points at it, but there's nobody around. He notices black mold covering most of the ceiling and wrinkles his nose.
"That smell?"
Burning incense sticks stuck into holes in the woodwork and door frames drop ash to the filthy floor.
"No, that ain't it. Willamina?" Pierre calls out, but no answer. He shouted again. "Willamina!"
Toxa appears in the doorway of the basement, her curvaceous figure apparent even beneath the ill-fitting apron and raggedy clothes. Pierre bites at his bottom lip while he traces the shape of her body with his eyes.
Toxa just said her line anyway. "I bin so worried 'bout your folks, runnin' roun' after 'em 'n' all, ain't had time fuh-"
"The place will be sold anyway once they finally pop off." He grinned. "You haven't changed a bit. You look exactly the same. I mean, exactly. That's amazing."
"Can I fix you somethin', suh?"
"That'll be mighty accommodating of you, Willamina, thank you."
Toxa scoots past him, heads into the kitchen. Pierre eyes the basement stairs for a moment before closing the door and following Toxa.
Toxa works at the marble counter, slicing cucumber to go with the ham already atop a slice of freshly cut bread.
From the reflection in a nearby window, she can see Pierre lingering in the doorway, ogling her ass.
Eyes locked on her ass, Pierre moves in.
"How long's it been? Ten?"
Toxa layers cucumber on top of the ham and slices some tomato rings.
"Eleven years?" he asked again.
Pierre gasps as he pushes his groin against her ass.
She turns away, places the sandwich on the table, wipes her hands on her apron.
"The amount of times I've fucked my fat, ungrateful wife and pictured you instead..." Pierre groaned.
"I best tend to your father, suh." Toxa subtly replied. She leaves as the power goes out.
"He still getting it up?" Pierre asked, lighting up a match, grabs the sandwich and bites into it.
Later...
At the bottom of the stairs, a match burns to Pierre's fingers and he shakes it out with a muttered curse. (Of course, he mimicked it)
He lights another, illuminating his face.
He heads up one creaky step at a time, the stench so bad he gags and places a hand over his nose.
The lights come on as he reaches the top. He puts the matches into a pocket and faced with four doors, two on each side, he nudges open the nearest with his foot.
Flies buzz as the door squeals open. Pierre's hand reaches for the light switch and flicks it a few times but nothing happens. He sparks a match and the dim luminescence reveals a figure beneath the blankets on a double bed.
"Mom?"
The match goes out, burning Pierre's fingers. He sucks on them as, using only the light from the hallway to guide him, he sits on the edge of the bed.
"I'm sorry. It's just work and-"
Pierre pats the lump in the bed and looks at it strangely. He stands and lifts back the covers. He screams and falls onto his ass on the floor.
In the bed, lies the mostly decayed corpse of his mother.
(Which was actually a creepy doll in reality. Some of the hosts even giggled at the reality.)
Retching, Pierre crawls into the hallway and vomits.
(He was actually spitting out water, props to Robert for that)
Pierre looks up to find Toxa watching him. She moves past him and runs down the stairs.
He makes to go after her, but one of the other doors catches his eye as hoards of Bluebottles congregate around the edge of the frame, buzzing like crazy.
Wiping vomit from his lips and chin, Pierre struggles to his feet and opens the door.
The power drops and with it the lights as Pierre makes it to the stairs. He teeters at the edge, just saving himself from falling.
He fumbles in his pocket for the matches and drops them onto the step below. He senses something behind and turns as the power reignites the lights.
Toxa hits him over the head with a cast iron poker. Blood streams from his scalp to his jaw.
Lights flicker, strobe-like, as he loses consciousness and bounces down the stairs, landing in a heap at the bottom.
(In reality, the blood was actually some of the ketchup they had, the scene was edited)
Unseen hands drag Pierre into the basement by his ankles, his head dully thuds off every step on the way down like a tempo deficient bass line.
(The unseen hands were most likely from the eight teens from earlier)
Naked (well… not fully), hanging from thick chains secured to ceiling anchors, Pierre regains consciousness. He sobs and gargles through a tight gag crudely made from his own underwear (aka jacket).
(Some of the others either covered their eyes [Sybil], laughed at him [Arabelle], or just plain did nothing [Carter])
Toxa inserts nine surgical tubes (straws) into his veins at various points on his arms, legs, and chest. (She taped them instead)
Watching, sit the eight neighbors. (Arreis, Colin, Mag, May, Misha, Nash, Rival, and Ryder) They drink blood from a milk bottle (it was actually the ketchup bottle) that they pass around. They have shared his clothes between them.
"I know. I do. But this ain't about you, suh. Ain't about that neither. Your teeny pecker weren't never designed to take a woman like me. Di'nt trouble me at all. No, suh, not at all." Toxa stated.
Pierre whimpers as Toxa places her mouth over one of the tubes (straws) hanging from his veins and sucks some of his blood into her mouth. (Again, she mimicked it)
She looks up at him, face full of rapture, teeth stained with his blood. (aka ketchup)
"It just takes the years away, like they never was, is all." She concluded.
The others place their mouths over the other tubes (straws) and begin to suck.
End.
Everyone applauded. Even Major A and Minor A all sighed of relief with how it turned out.
"Phenomenal job, Team A!" Don praised. "Any comments, judges?"
For once, Holly had a smile on her face. "I agree. Everything was arranged properly. I am also impressed with the editing. The props could've used some more work though. I will be giving you 4 points."
The team smiled.
"Evan?"
"Outstanding in my opinion. But unfortunately, the props were a bit… off. That is just me though. 3 points." Evan commented.
"Well, I think everything is fantastic." Enrique said with applause. "5 points for me."
It was Leticia's turn. "I'm normally not a fan of horror movies, but you really proved me wrong on the other end. I would give points."
Lee just nodded. "I'm not sure what to say honestly. I'll give 3 points."
"19 points!" Don nodded after he did the math on his head. "Not bad."
"As for advantage points…" Epi commented. "You guys get an additional 9 points… I think. That will be… 28 points for your grand total! Good job, team A."
"Next we have Major B and Minor B with Late At Night!" Brea announced before the next film starts playing.
Performance #25 (Major B & Minor B)
Screenplay: Late At Night by Joseph Arnone
Sybil (as GERALDINE) was first seen walking on the corridor, entering a room. Suddenly, she heard numerous voices calling out for her.
Out of curiosity, she approached some white curtains and stared at them. Everything was dark, so it was hard to see.
Gabe (as the attacker) opened up the curtains and ran up to Sybil, grabbing her, causing the girl to gasp.
"Ahhh! No! Let go!" Sybil shouted.
"...No." Gabe said ominously as he pushed her up against the wall.
The veteran tugged her arm, but failed as she then ran away.
Later on...
Zack (as BOYNER) motions to open a door to a hotel room. Sybil enters the corridor and notices him.
"...Don't go in there!" Sybil shouted.
Zack gave off a confused look. "...Why not?"
"You won't come out." Sybil replied.
Zack was still confused. "What do you mean?"
"Something strange has caught your ear and if you follow it through it will be done with you." She answered.
"I don't understand." Zack said.
Sybil steps a bit forward out from the dark, revealing a cut on her shoulder. "I've been marked."
Zack sets down his lantern and tends to Sybil's shoulder with a handkerchief. "Sit down. Sit down, please. How did this happen?"
Sybil took a deep breath. "I entered that room. I heard these sounds, beckoning me-"
"Someone, calling you?"
"Yes, like a trance." She began. "I opened the door and entered. That's when I felt someone or something grab hold of me and force me down to the floor. I think, I think I was being raped! But I fought it off... all the while I couldn't see a face, I could not see what grabbed hold of me. I was fighting off this invisible being. I felt it, the figure of a man's being but could not see him. There were others...watching, poking at my sides. I felt them all!"
Zack stands straight and turns his attention to the door.
"Don't go in there! I'm warning you. Wait 'til morning, when it's bright. You can investigate it then. It isn't safe. Please, believe me." Sybil pleaded.
Zack nodded. "I believe you, I believe you. I want to care for your shoulder. Let's go to the kitchen and have you properly looked at, shall we?"
Zack takes Sybil by the hand and they walk.
The door slowly opens behind them. Zack turns around. "Who's there?! Answer me! Who's there?!"
The door slams shut. Zack storms ahead toward the door.
"Don't go!"
Zack tries to open the door but it is locked shut. "Open up! Open up right now, damn you!"
The door slowly opens gently.
"Please, please don't go in there. I'm warning you. Please!" Sybil cried.
"Who's in there? Show yourself!"
Sybil began shaking. "I'm frightened. Please, let us go now."
Zack sighed. "Alright. It's fine. You are fine. Let us go to the kitchen and have you looked at."
Zack closes the door.
End.
The judges also applauded as it ended. Sadly, not as much as the other team.
"Well done, Team B!" Blaineley said, though not enthusiastically. "Judges?"
"The camera work was terrible." Holly immediately commented. "I got extremely dizzy just by watching it that I didn't wanna watch it anymore. No points."
Both Major B and Minor B sent glares to Oli, Janice, and Arabelle.
"But-"
Oli was interrupted by Enrique. "I like how you added an additional scene to not make thibgs confusing. Whoever did that, I applaud you. 3 points."
Evan was next. "This is actually… off. I don't know. 2 points."
Everyone in Team B was getting even anxious by that second.
"I actually liked it." Leticia commented. "I guess I would say… 4 points? Yeah, 4 points."
Lee was the last one to comment. "I'm gonna agree with the camerawork here. I'll give 3 points."
"So that makes it…" Epi grabbed a calculator out of nowhere and did the math. "12 points. And 6 points additional… only 18 points for your grand total."
Team B all gave disappointing looks.
"Major A and Minor A are our winners for today!" Brea said. "Major B, you got lucky that we're saving you from elimination. See you later, Minor B."
"Hey that ain't fair!" Arabelle pointed out.
"I hate to say it but I agree with this son of a bitch." Antoinette rolled her eyes.
"Yeah…" Chris snorted. "Spear and Hali, any advice? I almost forgot that you two are here."
"Just… focus on the camerawork I guess." Hali suggested. "It affected a whole lot of the production."
"I definitely love the acting." Spear grinned. "Of course there's still room for improvement, but otherwise, good job!"
"With that being said, everyone, be back at 8:30 for the elimination." Don instructed before everyone left.
ONE HOUR BEFORE ELIMINATION - MINOR B
"I'm voting for Janice." Arabelle immediately stated.
"I hate to say it but… I'm gonna have to agree." Gordon nodded.
"YES, SOMEONE FINALLY AGREED WITH ME FOR ONCE!" Arabelle squealed.
"Well, I don't." Lyle shook his head. "None of this would've happened if you paid attention to Adala."
Oli just sighed. "Can we not fight?"
"I-I'm gonna go for second." Janice sniffled and ran out of the room.
Everyone stayed quiet.
"Don't tell me you're gonna follow her." Antoinette said.
"Yup." Lyle got up and exited the room. "I'm just gonna check and see if she's okay."
Living Room - Minor House
Minor A was not on the house at the moment since they were hanging out. Janice was about to leave the house when-
"Wait, Jan-"
"I give up."
"No wait-" Lyle placed a hand on her shoulder. "Maybe there's still a chance, you know. You can't just give up that easily."
She sniffled again. "Listen, I'm not playing just to have fun. I'm doing this for my father's medications. He's in a coma and... if he doesn't wake up-"
At this point, she couldn't control herself. Lyle immediately pulled her into a hug as she sobbed.
"Shh… it's okay, Janice. I know it's hard for you." He said as he gently rubbed her back. "Imagine what Faith had to go through last season."
The girl wiped her face. "Y-yeah, I guess you're right."
"Just look at things on the positive side. I didn't vote for you, you know that." He assured.
Night 7, 8:30 PM
ELIMINATION & SWITCH CEREMONY #3
Everyone made their way back into the auditorium in time for the elimination ceremony. All teams stare at each other intently as they head off to their respective platforms, targets alreafy made behind their backs.
"Since Team B lost, Minor B will be facing elimination and Major B will be facing consequences, depending if someone decides to use an item." Don stated.
"Minor B, please cast in your votes." Blaineley instructed as the mentioned team approached the voting podium.
VOTING CONFESSIONAL #7: MINOR B
Janice: "I think I'm going home tonight. If I am… I'm sorry dad. I wasn't able to do my best like you wish… I just… I can't do this anymore."
Antoinette: "Janice. She's just… no."
Arabelle: "I want to vote Antoinette because she doesn't know who she is, but since Janice is the weakest one on this team next to Oli, I'm gonna vote her off. Bye, weakling."
Lyle: "This is the first time that Janice messed up, but honestly, Arabelle is the one pulling our team down."
Gordon: "Arabelle. She needs to go right now. Or… maybe Janice."
Oli: "...No. I'm going to use this and no one is going to stop me. But if it backfires then, sorry Janice."
As Minor B made their way back to their podium, Epi grabbed the voting ballot, got one paper and gave it to Brea.
"Alright. So safe with no votes are Lyle, Oli, Gordon, and Antoinette." Brea announced.
The three mentioned all sighed in relief, especially Antoinette as she thought Arabelle was going for her.
"Janice and Arabelle." Epi turned to them. "You two have recieved votes. Arabelle for being a burden to your team as usual, and Janice for costing your team 80% of the challenge due to poor camerawork."
Arabelle blew a piece of her hair away, not really caring at all while Janice shudderdd a bit.
"And our 26th placer of Total Drama Act II: Musical Power is…

Clap clap!
Brea widened her eyes as those claps were heard.
"Looks like someone is going to use an item." Chris smirked, looking towards the person who did it. "Yes, Misha?"
"I'm using this." Misha said, grabbing the Whole Rest out from her pocket.
Lots of gasps and frantic reactions were made, as this was one of the most powerful items in the game. The item that could eliminate three people at once, regardless of what team they are on.
Both Janice and Arabelle had mixed reactions. Janice seemed slightly relieved from being almost eliminated, while Arabelle didn't seem so confident anymore.
"Alright Misha, please choose three contestants to eliminate." Blaineley ordered.
Misha (Minor A): "Don't judge me, bitches. I am just going with my gut for this one."
Misha took a step forward, staring at the figurine on her hands.
"The first person I'm eliminating is…"

Arabelle stood up and fumed. "WHAT!?"
Misha noticed her sudden reaction as the other girl approached her with anger on her eyes.
"I DIDN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING TO YOU!"
Misha frowned. "Well, the reason why I chose you is because you can't keep your fucking insults to yourself. Also, stop mistreating your team as if you're the best player in this game, when in reality, you didn't do anything at all."
Adala cheered from the Major B podium, as Misha had pointed out what was wrong with her. Even some of the Minor B members were relieved at the movement.
"WH-"
"Time's up for you, Arabelle." Don immediately said as security guards came over to her but she managed to push them away.
"Listen, you frick. Why don't you mind the business of your OWN team and keep your own nose to yourself!" Arabelle yelled, before stomping off the auditorium. She even pushed off a flower vase that was near the exit, making it shatter on to the ground.
"Ah, the director will pay for that." Chris said as if it wasn't a big deal. "Who's going home next?"
Misha looked back towards the rest of the contestants with mixed expressions.

"...Nash."
The cowboy was genuinely caught off guard by this. He starts to tear up a bit, but had a smile on his face. "This isn't the worst feeling I've felt. Maybe I'll be back."
"I'm sorry, Nash." Misha apologized. "I just… see you as kind of a threat."
"I don't get it but… I'll understand. Good luck everyone!" He says some of the contestants giving him friendly hugs before exiting the auditorium, almost stepping on the broken vase in the process. "Uh, is anyone gonna clean that up, partners?"
"I'll do it." Brea sighed, grabbing a broom and a dust pan from who the hell knows where and began sweeping it up.
"Okay." Epi nodded. "One more contestant, Misha."

"...Janice."
Janice bit her lip. Just as she thought she was saved from elimination, but she was eliminated anyway.
"Sorry… I just thought that you were being the reason why your team was slowing down. No hard feelings, okay?" Misha said.
The other girl tried not to tear up but nodded understandingly. "Yeah. I think I'm being a burden to our team. And I apologize for that."
Gordon, Oli, and Antoinette all nodded to what she said. Lyle on the other hand looked as if he couldn't accept it but decided to not say anything at all.
"I guess I'll see you all soon." Janice smiled a bit before leaving the auditorium as some of the others waved at her.
Chris was cackling like an idiot from the side. "So… who else wants to use an item?"
Clap clap!
The hosts turned their attention to Minor B this time.
"Yes, Oli?" Epi turned to him, as well as the other contestants.
"I'd like to use this." Oli said, getting a figurine from his pocket. However, he shrieked upon seeing it and immediately dropped it, sendig it rolling on to the ground.
Everyone gasped as well once they could get a full view of the figurine.
It was a Time Signature.
"THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" Oli shouted. "THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN EIGHTH NOTE!"
Colin widened his eyes. "The Eighth Note!?" He said out loud. Ryder was also shocked as well since the item that they've been looking for had been with Oli all this time.
Colin (Major A): He groaned in frustration. "I don't know what am I feeling at this point. Of course I'm mad since Oli was the one who had what was supposed to be my Eighth Note, but it was actually a Time Signature. If I still had it, I would've been eliminated right now. Now I feel guilty all of a sudden."
"Well," Brea cleared her throat. "Guess that means Oli is eliminated then."
"But… this has got to be some kind of mistake!" Oli retaliated, but Ulysses grabbed him by the arm and escorted him away. "WAIT!"
"Shut up, will you!?" Ulysses yelled at him, but made the veteran rolled his eyes. As he was being escorted, most of the remaining contestants began to feel sorry for him.
Chef watched the two left before returning his attention to the remaining twenty-two contestants. "Welp. I guess that's it."
"What about the switch?" Toxa asked.
"Nope!" Chris immediately answered. "We are not doing the switch today. Instead, Major and Minor teams will be merging!"
Everyone gave off a look of surprise at this rate. Was this good news or bad news?
"We based this off of your previous performances." Epi announced. "Toxa, Beatrice, May, Misha, Mag, Antoinette, Lyle, Ryder, Carter, Therion, and Rival. Please stand on the left side of the stage."
"Sami, Adala, Vanessa, Sybil, Arreis, Zack, Colin, Pierre, Gordon, Robert, and Gabe, please stand on the right." Blaineley ordered.
Everyone made their way to their respective sides.
"Everyone on the left is now the Major team." Chris said.
Antoinette (Major): "I can't believe that I'm back on Major. Am I that good?" She smirked.
Beatrice (Major): "At least May is still with me. I don't know about Ryder but Antoinette is still getting on my nerves for some reason. It also sucks that Vanessa isn't with us again."
Carter (Major): "I'm glad that I am still on Major. Since Mag is also in my team now, I think the time where we'll be seeing the truth is near."
Lyle (Major): "I am honored to be on the Major team. But I am really disappointed that Janice and Oli got eliminated and that Gordon is still on the Minor team with Vanessa." He then thought of something. "...speaking of Janice, has she already left? I have something to say to her."
Mag (Major): "Oh crap. I don't know if I should be happy to be on Major… because Carter is here… what do I do…"
May (Major): "Looks like our alliance with Vanessa is still a no-go. But I have a feeling that there will be tension on this new tean…"
Misha (Major): "Do I feel bad that I eliminated Arabelle, Janice, and Nash? Fuck yes. Actually no for Arabelle but I think some others are targeting me now… best to play safe."
Rival (Major): "Glad to be with some of my teammates again! And hey, looks like Therion is here too!" He then proceeds to whistle to a song called Megalovania from Undertale.
Ryder (Major): "...It's just a team. I'll do fine. As long as Arreis isn't here."
Therion (Major): "I find it a bit of a relief that I'm still on Major. Judging from my performances, I thought I would go back yo Minor."
Toxa (Major): "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!" She screams in happiness before suddenly realizing that she was on camera. "Ahem- I mean… rightfully so."
"Everyone else standing in the right is now the Minor team." Don added.
Adala (Minor): "Okay, all of my hard work and this is what I get? What did I even do wrong? This is just… unacceptable."
Arreis (Minor): "I'm just pretty neutral with it, to be honest."
Colin (Minor): "Of course I would be in the Minor team, considering what happened. They'll never see my true potential."
Gabe (Minor): "Robert and I are always together these days, and now we are both on the same team. It's like we were destined for each other-" his eye suddenly twitched. "No, not that, genius! God, that sounded so wrong…"
Gordon (Minor): "...Looks like I'm still into square one." He frowned. "Am I really making any progress at all?"
Pierre (Minor): "Wow, I am so unlucky these days. First I had to play a role that I'll have bad memories from and now I'm still on Minor even though I did my best."
Robert (Minor): "Back to Minor now. It doesn't feel too bad landing on here honestly."
Sami (Minor): "I'm still feeling a bit uneasy on Sybil. I feel like I might just be overreacting things a bit too much but I can't help it… it doesn't help that we're on the same team again."
Sybil (Minor): "Wait… how come I'm on Minor? I… I don't get it…"
Vanessa (Minor): "Welcome back to the Minor team, Nessa. Hoo-ray."
Zack (Minor): "Well this sucks. It just means that I have to exert more effort, then."
"Alright, performers. You may now leave and rest." Don announced. The contestants complied to do so.
"So I guess this ends our episode?" Epi asked, taking a gander at his watch. "Welp. Gotta go guys. I've got some stuff to do."
Don nodded. "That's okay, Epi."
"We'll see you soon!" Brea smiled. Epi waved to all the hosts before leaving the auditorium.
Chris sighed as another episode finally finished. "Well, there you have it.
"Four contestants have been eliminated this evening and now twenty-two are left." Chef said.
"Lots of targets have been made and four teams become two." Brea added.
Blaineley smirked. "Tension seems to be rising amongst our remaining competitors."
"How will everyone fare out now that everything gets harder in the future?" Don asked. "Find out on-"
"TOTAL DRAMA ACT II: MUSICAL POWER!" The hosts cheered.
"Too bad Epi left before the outro." Don commented as the screen fades to black.
End of episode.
...There's a bonus scene? What the fricking hell, Candela?
Lobby - 9:15 PM
"I can't believe that that was a Time Signature!" Oli ranted.
He, Arabelle, Nash, and Janice were seated on a couch in the lobby just near the entrance.
"Oh, please. I'm actually surprised that everyone here except for Nash is from Minor B!" Arabelle spat. "It's supposed to be only Janice going, but Misha just had to use that piece of shit."
"Chill, partner. Don't take out your anger on someone else." Nash sighed. "It's not even Misha's fault that I'm here right now for darn toothin'."
Nash (25th Placer): "I'm not mad at Misha… okay, maybe just a little."
Arabelle looked at the window and saw a van came by. "Welp, there goes our ride."
The four former contestants stood up to leave, but Janice yelped a little as someone grabbed her arm.
"Shh."
"Lyle? What are you doing here?" Janice asked a bit frantically. "I have to go soon."
He nodded as he led her to the corner a bit far from the entrance. "I want to say something."
"Um… okay."
"Just, don't give up on yourself next time, okay?" He told her softly.
Janice made a small smile. Hearing those words honestly made her feel even less worried.
"I won't." She giggled a bit. "I promise."
He nodded, relieved that she was able to accept her fate and not give up. "Also… there's something I want to do before you go."
"What?" She asked, curiosity filling up her eyes.
"I'm glad you asked." Lyle said, giving off a small smirk. His left hand caressed the back of her head as he planted his lips onto hers for a kiss. Janice felt her heart skipped a beat but eventually kissed him back. It lasted for a few seconds before they pulled out.
"Am I rushing you?"
Janice shook her head. "You might be for some, but not for me."
Little she knew that Lee was watching their interaction from a few meters away, just near the other judges. There was also a look of jealousy on his face.
"Hey Janice, where the hell are you?!" Arabelle shouted.
Both dancers looked at each other.
"...So does this mean I love you now?" Janice blushed.
"Yes Janice." Lyle smiled, giving her a quick kiss on ther forehead. "I love you too."
She waved at him before leaving along with Oli, Nash, and Arabelle.
"So Janice, what did Lyle told you?" Oli asked.
"Oh nothing." She giggled. "Just some words of encouragement."
"That's… hella weird, partner." Nash commented as they left the venue.
