Annabeth watched as some attractive girls in bikini tops and jean shorts tried to chat up her boyfriend. They were in California at a Pier Party and were on a rare trip outside the protective barrier of Camp Jupiter. They had not left the safety of the barrier much since they started school and needed the trip out.
Annabeth giggled as Percy rejected the three mortal girls and sent them away, pouting at being denied what they viewed as a treat.
'Sorry girls.' Annabeth thought, 'That buffet is mine alone.'
Percy came back with two fruity drinks for them. "Took a bit longer to find something without alcohol in it." He explained as he handed her the drink.
Annabeth smiled knowing. Since his experience with Gabe, Percy had only ever had one drink. Mr. D had insisted when Percy turned 21 that he has a glass of wine at the bare minimum. Percy had not hated it but had also not liked how it impaired his reflexes.
"I understand." She kissed him on the cheek, noticing the mortal girls scowling in their direction as she did so. She had not set out to make them jealous, but it was a pleasant bonus. She took a sip of her drink. It was very refreshing in the California heat.
Annabeth noticed another couple making their way through the crowd. The girl had long ginger hair in a braid down one shoulder and was in a crop top and jean shorts. The man was handsome in a tee shirt and shorts as well. He had a pair of glasses on his face and what appeared to be a scar on his forehead. Annabeth could not be sure as she only got a glimpse but it looked like a lightning bolt. The thing about the couple however is they were moving too quickly, checking over their shoulders as if they were being pursued.
"Percy," She began, and he nodded in response.
"I saw them too, Annabeth. What do you think, a couple of clear-sighted mortals running from a monster?"
Annabeth shrugged. "Maybe. It would not be unusual for two mortals who can see through the Mist to come together to support each other with what only they can see. I suppose one could be a demigod, but they are too old not to have gone to a camp."
Percy nodded, taking out his trusty ballpoint pen. "I agree. Still, let's go and make sure their worries are put to rest."
She kissed him softly as the two of them took off in the same direction as the other couple.

Percy drew his sword as he and Annabeth rounded a corner. There was the couple, being chased fully now by a pack of Hell Hounds. He shuddered, he always hated fighting Hell Hounds since he inherited Mrs. O'Leary. Still, they needed to help the couple.
Percy charged towards the couple right as they pulled lengths of wood from seemingly nowhere. The two paused as Percy jumped between the beasts in them.
"That wood isn't going to cut it, you need celestial bronze or imperial gold to hurt them." He explained as he showed them his sword. "Go, we'll distract them."
"We?" The redheaded girl asked as Annabeth jumped on the lead Hound's back and started stabbing its neck. "I see, you're with the crazy blonde chick doing the stabbing."
Percy chuckled as he slashed at a Hell Hound that got bored and charged them. The monster dissolved into golden dust. "Yeah, that's my crazy blonde chick. Can you defend yourselves?"
The two nodded and raised their wooden sticks, now that Percy got a better look at them, they were more like the wands that Carter and Sadie had.
"You have no idea." The black-haired man spoke, his green eyes sparkled as a jet of red light blasted from the tip, dropping a Hell Hound. Percy smiled in satisfaction as the monster returned to the Abyss.

Harry looked down at the Holly wand in disbelief. The Stunning Charm, a major spell in his arsenal, had never destroyed something before. Ginny tugged on his arm.
"Harry, worry about that later. We need to help crazy girl and surfer dude."
Harry grinned, the names his girlfriend had given the other couple were quite fitting. He had not wanted to take this vacation to California, but Kingsly had insisted that he get away from the Ministry for a while. Still, not even the former Auror could have guessed the trouble waiting for the young couple in America.
"Sorry, Gin. You go left, I'll go right?"
She nodded, and they separated. Harry and Ginny had practiced their technique together many times. When you were the number one Auror in your country and the Boy That Lived, many dark wizards and witches wanted a piece of you.
Harry slashed his wand as a Hell Hound jumped at the blonde girl, who had killed her first target and was pulling out a hat. Percy saw to his amazement once the hat was on her head, the girl vanished from sight.
"Much better than a cloak." He mused as the Hell Hound dissolved to dust as well.
He saw the swordsman push his hand out and water rose from the Ocean nearby, grabbing two of the creatures. Harry watched as they struggled in vain to escape as the watery hands dragged them down and smashed them into powder. He saw a Reduction Curse from his partner take the head from another one of the beasts and yet another tasted the invisible dagger of the blonde girl.

Ginny could not tell you how long the fight had gone on. She had been lost in casting spells and watching her ally's work. Harry was as efficient as ever, only casting a spell when it would have the most impact. The days of desperate casting to keep Death Eaters off them were gone. She had seen Surfer Dude drag two of the monsters into the water and destroy them. She had no idea where the Blond Girl was, but a beast fell from an invisible blade before her eyes, showing her that their other ally must have something like Harry's Hallow. Then it was over and the four of them were sitting on the pier, panting.
"Well, that was fun." Surfer Dude said between pants. "But me and Annabeth should go. The Mist loves to make mortals see me as a terrorist when I save them from monsters."
Harry nodded his head. "I don't know what this Mist is, but that does sound kind of useful. I wish the Wizarding World had some of that. We have to erase memories all the time when our world crosses over into the Muggle world."
Blonde Girl, Annabeth it seemed, just shrugged. "Difference of mythology, I guess. Nice working with you both. I see that was not your first monster."
Harry laughed as he snuggled into Ginny's side, making her heart race. "No, we both survived Care of Magical Creatures with a half-giant whose idea of safe school animals is man-eating monsters. These things were not as strong as Blast-Ended Skerts."
The other couple shuddered. "I don't know why, but the image that name makes sounds awful."
"Whatever you are imagining, it is likely worse." Ginny smiled. "They were abominations that should have been smashed in the eggs."
"Well, on that happy note." Annabeth stood up and pulled Surfer Dude to his feet. "We should go. We need to report this attack."
Ginny nodded and rose beside Harry. "We should do the same. Thanks for stepping in to help us. We weren't sure if we could rely on anyone coming to our aid."
"Anytime. My name is Annabeth Chase, by the way." She shook hands with Ginny.
"Ginny Weasley."
She looked over and saw Harry shaking hands with Surfer Dude.
"Good to meet you. My name is Harry Potter."
Surfer Dude smiled. Only now did Ginny see he had sea-green eyes and black hair. He and Harry looked a lot alike.
"Percy Jackson. A pleasure to meet you, Harry and Ginny. Hope we meet again someday."
Harry smiled sadly as he and Ginny raised their wands. "I doubt it."
*Hinny meets Percabeth*
Harry and Ginny watched as Percy and Annabeth walked away, towards the Bay.
"I feel really bad about wiping their memories," Harry said to Ginny. "But the rules are the rules. They are not Wizards."
She nodded. "However, it would be unfair for us to carry the knowledge of them without them having it. You ready, love?"
He nodded, and they pointed their wands at each other. Neither side would remember, but hopefully, they would pass each other again in the future, and just maybe, they could be friends.
