Elizabeth Bennet stood on the campus of Cambridge. Though she didn't look the same, as she was dressed up in men's garments. You may be wondering how all this happened. It isn't too long of a tale, so let me share what led to this event.

Elizabeth was at the young age of 14, though she was so young, she had strong wit, and a mind as brilliant as any grown man. Her father recognized this, and even though women weren't allowed to go to college or get any formal education, realized that Elizabeth would never be satisfied until she knows that she is as intelligent as any other man.

Even though it did take much begging, Elizabeth was able to let her father agree to take her to Oxford. They also agreed not to share this news with , as they didn't want to alleviate her nerves and her thoughts of marriage, anymore than they already were. They didn't tell any of the missus Bennets either except for Bennet, who was Elizabeth's closest companion.

Elizabeth was very much worried about what would happen, like how she was going to survive being in so many improper situations, or how she was going to be able to keep her gender a secret, but those issues came later, as she was too excited to get started with her new life.

Her disguise was simple in the way that she wore a normal tunic and trousers. Luckily, her form wasn't fully in, and so she gave off the simple appearance of a boy. She also wore a wig to hide her hair. Though the wig did work well, and so did the tunic and trousers, they were terribly uncomfortable, and so it made Elizabeth wish back for her dress, as that was more freeing than the outfits.

She also spent a large amount of time trying to figure out what her name should be, though as Shakespeare said, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet," and those are some pretty wise words, she did believe that there were some important parts in a name. She ended up deciding to call herself Elliott.

When Elizabeth arrived at Oxford, it was orientation day, though fully dressed in her disguise she still felt as if everyone could see through it all and notice how she wasn't really who she says she is.

It wasn't long until someone yelled across the crowd, "Hello new scholars! Please line up behind one of the tables, to figure out which rooms you would be given! Thank you, that is all."

Groups of men lined up behind the tables, 'causing Elizabeth to roll her eyes and laugh. Though she did take a line behind one of the tables. On accident though, she ended up bumping into some tall man, who though seemed to be very handsome, was disdainfully looking around at the group of people around him. When she bumped into him, she hit him at such a force that it sent him and Elizabeth plummeting to the ground.

"I'm so sorry sir!" Elizabeth cried, trying to pull herself to her feet, while also silently worrying about how close to the edge of propriety she was skirting near. Though her apologies didn't seem to help in this situation, as the man pulled himself up and stared down at Elizabeth with a glare, that if it were any other man, or coward, they would have crumbled.

"Why are there children in such a place! Don't your guardians realize that this is a place for gentlemen, not for childs?" The man said, straightening out his clothes, and completely missing the sparkle of anger in Miss. Elizabeth's eyes after he said such a thing.

"How dare you! I'm no child! I'm a man just like you, and I'm going to Cambridge just like you! But maybe you're just too dumb witted, that you couldn't see what was in front of your face. Now if you would excuse me!"

Elizabeth stomped off, leaving the man glaring into the space that she just left.

"What an arrogant man!" She whispered underneath her breath.

It wasn't long until Elizabeth was able to figure out where her dorm was. What surprised her the most, was how it was four men to her room, instead of 2 like the other dorms. She believed it must have been something to do with how there were no more dorms left, or it may have been something with the family. She could only hope that she would be able to keep her secret protected when she was in a room with 3 men.

She was just unpacking when a man walked into her dorm. She could only assume that was one of the people in her dorm.

"Hello?" She asked, "Is this your dorm?"

"Yes, I assume this is yours too?" The man replied. She noticed that he was average in height, though was pretty handsome. He had light brown hair that looked as if it wasn't combed in a long while.

"Yes this is mine too! My name is Eliz… Elliott Bennet, yours?"

"Richard, nice to meet you Bennet! Do you know our other mates?"

"No, I actually am the first one here. I was at first worried that I was the only one here." That was partly true. She was worried that she was the only one, but it was in a good way, so then she won't have to worry too much about her outfit choices, and her roommates finding out what her real gender was actually, but that reality doesn't seem to be true anymore.

"Oh well! I guess it's just you and me for the time being, Bennet!"

If only that was true, as it wasn't long until one of there other roommates came into the dorm, and this time Elizabeth knew who it was.

"It's You!"

And there standing at the door, was the same man who she knocked down during the orientation.

And that is my first chapter folks! Hope you like it! Hope it fits the bill! Please give me comments so I could know how to fix all my errors! And I know I have some! Now... Lets just wait and see what would happen next.
