Episode 2: Mistaken Identities

The moment of the Genesis Wave… In the world of Mega Man and Mega Woman…

There is a city known as Mega City, the home of Mega Man and Mega Woman.

In a lab, there lives the Scientist, Dr. Thomas Light, creator of Mega Man. Dr. Light is a grown man with white hair,a long white beard, and blue eyes. He is also wearing a white lab coat, a beige vest, a blue tie with yellow polka dots, brown pants and shoes. The scientist is working on another one of his creations when Rock, also known as Mega Man, enters the room.

Without the armor. Rock looks like a young boy with brown hair, blue eyes, and wears a blue shirt with white sleeves.

Besides him is Mega Woman, who is named Juniper. Without her suit, Juniper is wearing a lavender blue blouse with black tights, and black shoes. Her hair is down revealing a curl on the bottom, and has lavender eyes. She is also wearing a dark purple skirt.

"Dr. Light?" Rock calls out.

"Are you all right? Juniper asks.

"Yes, Rock. Juniper. I'm fine. Just got lost in my thoughts for a moment," Dr. Light says.

Juniper then picks up a box and asks, "So Dr. Light, what are we building today?"

"Nothing easily weaponized I hope," Rock says.

"No," Dr. Light says, working on an invention, "This is a design I've been putting off since the original line. Bond man will-""

Just then, Rock's sister, also created by Dr. Light, Roll runs into the lab in a panic, "Dr. Light! Rock! Juliper! Come quick!"

Roll is Rock's younger sister, she's a little shorter than Rock. She has blonde hair in a ponytail with a green ribbon in her hair, blue eyes, and wears a red dress with matching red shoes.

Juniper rushes to Roll and asks, "What's wrong, Roll?"

"You need to see the news! There's a battle downtown! Blues is there - AND outnumbered!" Roll explains in a panic.

"Proto Man…" Rock and Juliper reply worried.

Everyone runs to the monitor to see the news. And on the screen, they can see Proto Man fighting a robot that looks like Knuckles.

The news says, "...Continuing our live coverage of the battle erupting in the financial district…"

"See? Poor Blues is fighting all along!" Roll says.

"What are those things?" Rock asks.

"I don't know. They don't look like any Robot Masters I've seen," Dr. Light says.

The group continues to watch the event to see the four Roboticized Masters are leaving the bank.

"Whatever they are, Blues is fighting them alone," Juniper says.

"You're right, maybe we can get some answers. After we help Blues," Rock says.

With that, Rock and Juliper activate their suits and transform into Mega Man and Mega Woman.

"Be careful Mega Man. Mega Woman. There's no telling what these new robots are capable of!" Dr. Light says.

"Right, Dr. Light," Juliper says.

And with that, Mega Man and Mega Woman take off to help Proto Man.

Back in Downtown Mega City, Proto Man continues to fight the Roboticized Masters. But because there's so many of them, Proto Man is getting beaten by them. Just then, Mega Man appears behind Roboticized Amy and blasts her. Then Mega Woman punches the robot in the face. Soon, the three teleport away before the Roboticized Amy can notice.

Mega Woman helps Proto Man up and asks, "Proto Man, are you okay? Are you damaged? "

"N-No… I'm fine," Proto Man answers.

"Of course you are. You always are…" Mega Man says.

"Mega Man," Mega Woman sternly says.

"What?" Mega Man questions with a shrug.

Proto Man answers, "I'm fine." But he clearly has damages, "Those robots down there… They're strong. Unusually strong."

"Eh, I've handled worse," Megam Man says.

"Do you know what they are after?" Mega Woman asks.

"They broke into the First National Bank still one thing - a huge gemstone," Proto Man answers.

"Super-powerful robots used for petty robbery? That sounds like Wily. Gee, what a surprise," Mega Man says in remark.

"What else is new? Dr. Wily is always causing trouble," Mega Woman says.

Then Mega Man says, "You take a break, we'll handle this."

"Hmph," Proto Man scoffs, "I guess I have no choice… but be careful. Their builds, weapons- They seem alien somehow."

"That's okay - Mega Woman and I have fought alien robots too, remember?" Mega Man says.

"Don't remind me," Mega Woman mutters.

With that, Mega Man and Mega Woman jump down and begin blasting them with their blasters, stopping them in their tracks.

Once they're on the ground, Mega Man says, "Hold it! We don't want to fight, but we won't let you rob or hurt anyone, either! Surrender now and we promise that you'll be treated peacefully and respectfully."

The Roboticized Masters look at each other.

Then the Roboticized Shadow commands the others, "Destroy them!"

And with that, the other Roboticized Masters charge towards the two heroes.

Meanwhile, in Sonic and Eve's World…

Both Sonic and Eve are in the Green Hill Zone.

As they race around, Sonic says in thought, "Heh… and there's that weird feeling… again? Can I have deja vu about having deja vu? I mean I come here a lot, but something feels off…"

Sonic then shakes his head rapidly.

"You okay, bro?" Eve asks.

"I'm fine, just having a weird deja vu," Sonic says, "But, we've got more important things to worry about…"

"Yeah like… What happened to all our friends," Eve says.

"I was thinking the same thing," Sonic says, "We were supposed to do some adventuring with Tails in the Mystic Ruins. But when we got to his place, he was nowhere to be found. Weird."

"And that's when we decided to split up," Eve says.

"Exactly," Sonic says, "I took the Tornado all the way to Angel Island to get Knuckles' help. Except he wasn't there to guard the Master Emerald like he should have been. Really weird."

"I went to Amy's place cause… well since she always manages to find you," Eve says.

"Somehow?" Sonic mutters.

"Maybe she could track down the others. Except she's missing, too," Eve says. "I even decided to call Shadow and Rouge, but according to Rouge, my brother disappeared as well."

Then begins to think, "Something is up."

"Took the words out of my mouth," Sonic says, "We could run around and search the planet in a few days, but that's too slow for me. So while we search one place… we'll ask the Chaotix to search another."

Sometime later, after asking the Chaotix…

In another city, The Chaotix, Vector, Espio, and Charmy are searching for the others. Of course, they're looking for them in the city while it's raining.

Charmy begins whining, "But I saw the truck! It was just a block away!"

"For the last time. Charmy - You'll get some ice cream after the case is solved," Vector says, "Think of it like training. You can't reap the benefits until you do the work."

"That, and we couldn't afford an ice cream cone right now," Espio points out.

"Not my point!" Vector says, annoyed.

But then Charmy says, "Forget you guys! I'm getting my ice cream! And they'll give it to me for free because I'm so cute and adorable!" and then flies off to the ice cream truck.

Espio turns to Vector, "You should go after him,"

"Why? he's annoying!" Vector questions, annoyed.

"Because his little 'ice cream spree' is liable to get him arrested. That's why," Espio answers.

Then Vector asks, "Why do I have to do it?"

"You're the boss," Espio answers.

"Whole lotta good it does me…" Vector says annoyed.

Then begins to turn back to search for him.

Vector calls out, "Charmy! Get back here! You can't just leave us -"

But by the time Vector arrives, Charmy is lo longer there, "Uh… Espio? He disappeared,"

Espio catches up, "Odd. He couldn't have gotten that far ahead of us…

"Urgh…" Vector groans in frustration, "Maybe this is another of his passive-aggressive hide-and-seek games? Come on, let's find him before…" but notices Espio isn't paying attention, "Yo! Espio! You listenin' to me or not?"

Unknown to Vector, Espio turns to the alley and notices a shadow figure rushing past them. It also has a strange scarf.

"Sure. Hiding," Espio says, "You check down the street. I've got another lead," and walks into the alley

"Whatever," Vector says, annoyed and walks down the street.

He says to himself in thought, "Always had to be so dramatic…"

Espio walks into the alley and brings out his kunai.

He says in thought, "All right, punk, come on out - I know you're here…"

Unknown to Espio, there is a mysterious robot on the fire escape. He looks a lot like Mega Man, but is wearing a scarf and looks sinister. He points the blaster towards Espio and… ZAP.

Vector turns around to hear a noise, "Espio?"

Vector begins to walk back to the alley "…Man Sonic and Eve are not paying me enough for this…" and peeks into the alley, "Actually, did we even discuss pay…"

Soon enough, Vector is holding an umbrella and trash can lid. He uses them for defense in case anything shows up.

Vector calls out, "Espio? Charmy? Anybody in here!"

But then the robot drops down from behind Vector, "As a matter of fact…"

And the next moment, blasts Vector with the blaster.

Once that's done, the robot walks away.

The robot contacts "Three more specimens for your army, Dr. Wily."

"Excellent work Copy Robot!" Dr. Wily's voice speaks out from the communicator, "I'm sending you a nav-point to Green Hill Zone to meet Copy Android. You've got one more target there,"

Meanwhile, in Mega City…

Mega Man and Mega Woman continue to fight against the Roboticized Masters. Right now, Mega Man is fighting against Tails Man.

"Come down here and fight like a man!" Megan Man shouts, "Uh… Fox! Whatever you are - ROBOT!"

Soon, Roboticized Knuckles punches the truck.

"Whoa!" Mega Man yelps.

But then, Mega Woman performs a power kick at it.

"I don't want to destroy you, but you're leaving me no choice!" Mega Woman says, activating her blaster, "Take this!" And fire.

The blast hit the Roboticized Knuckles, but it ended up not causing much damage.

"What?" Mega Woman questions.

"That's new. Our charged shot seems stun-" Mega Man says.

Suddenly, two robotic figures speed right past them, knocking them both down.

"What was that?" Mega Man asks.

Mega Woman stands up to see a strange large ring open before the Roboticized Masters.

"Warp Ring Activated," Tails Man says.

"What is that thing?" Mega Woman asks.

"I don't know, but they're all going through it," Mega Man says. "We gotta stop them," and then rushes to the portal.

"Hold it!" Mega Man shouts and blasts the Roboicized Shadow.

Mega Man is able to strike it, causing it to collapse to the other side of the portal. Once the Roboticized Masters and the two strange blurs speed through, the ring begins to glow.

Mega Man and Mega Woman are able to grab it just in time.

"Rrgh… Dr. Light! The strange robot and some kind of blue blur and black just vanished into a… portal, I think?"

"It's closing fast, and we can't stop it, so we're going in! Mega Woman says.

"Good luck, son. Juni. Be careful! Come back safely!" Dr. Light says through a communication device.

Soon, the pair rush through the portal and find themselves in an unknown location.

"...Where are we?" Mega Man questions.

"I have no idea," Mega Woman answers.

Meanwhile…

Somewhere in the Green Hill Zone, Silver arrives to meet Sonic and Eve.

"Sonic! Eve!" Silver calls out.

"Hi Silver!" Eve calls out.

"Oh hey, Silver. Everyone's favorite walking paradox, 'sup'?" Sonic says.

Soon, the three begin to travel across the Green Hill Zone.

"I detected a disturbance in time-space originating from this period. I don't have much to go on besides this weird sense that-" Silver says.

"Things are just a little 'off'?" Sonic guesses.

"Yes! Exactly!" Silver says.

"Yes. It's just as strange as some of our friends, including my brother, Shadow have gone missing," Eve says.

"And now you're telling us something funky is going on with space and time. Sound like anyone you know?" Sonic says.

"Dr. Eggman again?" Silver questions, annoyed.

Eve sighs, "Who else would cause this kind of trouble?"

"Still, Eve and I got the Chaotix helping to look for everyone, but you can-" Sonic says.

But suddenly, a strange blast hits Silver.

Sonic and Eve yelp, "Whoa!"

As Silver screams, "Ahhh!"

The one who has blasted Silver is another robot next to Copy Robot. The robot is female and she looks a lot like Juniper, but her armor is darker, and her hair is actually in pigtails with purple highlights. And has a skull on the chest.

"Nice work, Copy Android. And you didn't even need my help," Copy Robot says.

"Indeed, but we must be off," Copy Android says.

"Yeah," Copy Robot says.

Then calls out, "Well Sonic and Eve, we'd love to do the same to you, but the doctor has different plans. Ciao!"

And with that, the two run off.

"Trying to run from US?" Sonic questions, "You should have blasted me when you had the chance!"

You two get back here!" Eve shouts.

Soon, Sonic and Eve chase after them.

Copy Robot makes contact again, "Copy Robot here! Copy Android and I've got Sonic on our six. Relaying our coordinates now,"

"Excellent! Albert built you well! This is Dr. Eggman," Dr. Eggman communicates back.

He then communicates to Metal Sonic, "Metal Sonic, you and Metal Eve are not far from those coordinates. Lure Mega Man and Mega Woman to Copy Robot and Copy Android's Location!"

Then Eggman contacts the Roboticized Masters, "Roboticized Masters! Disperse, then regroup at the rendezvous point. Tails Man, obtain the high altitude and transmit events to us.

Soon, the Roboticized Masters begin to split up.

"Mega Man, they're starting to split up," Mega Woman says.

"I think it's better to focus on their leader first, and -" Mega Man says.

But both of them have been struck from behind, "GAH!"

"Okay - that's it!" Mega Man angrily says.

"Those two are toast!" Mega Woman angrily says.

Soon, Mega Man and Mega Woman begin to chase Metal Sonic and Metal Eve

Meanwhile…

Sonic and Eve are still chasing Copy Robot and Copy Android.

Copy Android says, "Now to give him the slip!"

Mega Man and Mega Woman continue to fire towards the two Robotic Hedgehogs.

Dr. Eggman informs, "Copy Robot! Copy Android! Break Sonic and Eve's line of sight! Metal Sonic! Metal Eve! Do the same to Mega Man and Mega Woman!"

Mega Woman sees the two robots, "There they are.

"All right Blue Blur and Black Blur get ready to eat blast-" Mega Man says.

But something strikes him on the back, knocking him down, "-AHH!"

"GOTCHA!" Sonic shouts.

Sonic lands and cheers, "WOO! The scarf right off you! How do you like that?"

"Hey!" Mega Woman shouts and begins blasting Sonic.

Sonic yelps and begins to dodge the attack.

Just then, Eve dives down to Mega Woman with her sword.

Mega Man quickly uses his blaster to block the attack.

"Thermal readings adjust those things are organic… but that can't be right. Nothing alive is that fast. That hit must have damaged my sensors," Mega Man says.

Soon, Sonic begins to spin dash towards Mega Man, but Mega Woman grabs Sonic and throws him across the area.

Soon, the pair of heroes begin to fight against one another.

Above, Tails Man is observing the events, "Are you receiving this, masters?"

"Every glorious second, Tails Man… and we are LOVING IT!" Dr. Eggman and another scientist say triumphantly.
