Episode 3: No Holds Barred

Last time, Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily's Roboticized Masters have stole a gemstone from Mega City's bank. Meanwhile, Sonic and Eve's friends have mysteriously disappeared. Thanks to the duplicate robots of the heroes, Sonic and Eve are battling against Mega Man and Mega Woman.

Sonic spin dashes around trying to avoid Mega Man's blaster. At the same time, Eve uses her sword to deflect the blasts from Mega Woman.

Sonic jumps into the air, "Do you have any idea how many of you bots I've thrashed in this zone?" and spin dashes to dodge, "Dozens! Hundreds! You should've sniped me and my sis when you had the chance!" Then Sonic slide kicks Mega Man from the feet, "Cause we're about to see if you've got a bird or a bit in there!"

Mega Man falls down to the ground. And Sonic walks over to him with his foot on Mega Man's chest.

"Then again, I'm sporting guy, and I can see that you're one of those High-end 'Thinking Badniks,'" Sonic adds. Sonic then crosses his arms, "So here's the deal - you tell me where my friends are and what the doc is up to and I don't smash you, cool?"

But then, Sonic notices the blasts and turns to see Mega Woman approaching.

"Or not!" Sonic adds as he dodges her attacks.

Eve then spin dashes Mega Woman and follows Sonic.

Mega Woman rushes to Mega Man, "You okay?"

"I'm fine, but that robot said some weird stuff," Mega Man says.

"Huh?" Mega Woman questions.

"The way he talks, it sounds like he's working against Dr. Wily, and I'm getting readings that this thing is organic…"

"Yeah. I'm picking the same readings from that other robot with the sword," Mega Woman says.

"But they have to be robots. They move too fast to be alive. We could barely keep up with it back in the city," Mega Man says.

"That's true, and it's not like Dr. Wily's never ended up with a defiant robot before," Mega Woman says.

Then questions, "Do you think they're suffering from bad coding?"

"It's possible. It's best we take them out, preserve their I.C. Chip, and Dr. Light can repair…" Mega Man says.

But he soon notices, "What are they doing?"

The two Mega Bots turn to see Sonic and Eve are doing something. They seem to be bouncing up and down. Soon, the platform begins to fall.

"There we go!" Sonic says.

"Look out!" Mega Woman cries out.

Then the pair move out of the way as Sonic and Eve spin dash off. Soon, the platform crashes to the ground. Mega Man and Mega Woman continue trying to blast Sonic and Eve, and the fight continues on.

Unknown to the two pairs of heroes, Tails Man continues to watch from sky view, continuing to send the footage to the two doctors.

Tails Man informs the Doctors, "The battle seems evenly matched, masters, should I continue transmitting the footage?"

Above the Wily Egg…

"Absolutely, Tails Man!" Dr. Eggman says.

"We don't want to miss a minute of this!" Dr. Wily says.

Eggman turns to Wily, "I say Albert! I do believe your hated nemeses are going to do mine in! Even if it's not by my hands, good show."

But Wily says, "Don't sell yourself short. Those rodent problems of yours are covered in spikes. Trust me - with over a dozen bobby trapped castles to my name, I know spikes are a problem for little boy blue, and little lavender."

Eggman and Wily soon relax on the chair.

"Ahhh… this is the life," Eggman says, satisfied, "Basking in our brilliance, watching our mortal enemies beat the snot out of each other…"

As Eggman speaks, Orbot walks over, "Hot towel, anyone?"

"And all from the comfort of our flying battle station in our custom-built pocket zone," Dr. Wily says.

"Which were designed by our geniuses," Eggman says.

"But of course," Wily says.

Then they both give each other a fist bump, 'Evil Bro Fist.'

Just then, the Roboticized Mobians, Knuckles Man, Shadow Man, and Rose Woman walk in.

Shadow Man says, "Masters! We have returned with the Chaos Emerald."

Eggman gets up in excitement, "Excellent! Oooh, I always get excited when I find these things!"

Eggman takes the emerald, "We should add this to the collection." Then passes it to Wily, "Care to do the honors, BRILLIANT Dr. Wily."

Dr. Wily takes the emerald, "It would be my pleasure, INGENIOUS Dr. Eggman."

And then says, "But AFTER the fight between the four bumblers is decided, I don't want to miss any of it."

"Ah! But of course! How thoughtless of me," Eggman says.

"Nonsense," Dr. Wily replies, "Besides, it gives time for the other team to return. Then we can plug in the last two gems together."

Back in the Green Hill Zone…

Sonic and Eve jump through the loop to dodge the blasters.

"YEOW!" Sonic cries out as more are coming at him.

Eve then pulls Sonic, "Get down."

Eve pulls Sonic to the side of the structure, avoiding the hit.

"What are those things made of?" Sonic questions.

"I wonder about that myself. We fought Super-Badniks, Gizoids, and War Machines, but those robots are on a whole other level," Eve says.

"No kidding," Sonic says.

Back to Mega Man and Mega Woman…

"It looks like they've gone into hiding," Mega Man says.

"Good. All that blasting is overheating my blaster," Mega Woman says.

"We just need a second to cool and recharge," Mega Man says.

"Still, something is strange about those two," Mega Woman says.

"I agree," Mega Man says, "They're not using something like Flash Man's time stopper. We can still track their movements - barely."

"But they're way faster than Quick Man, Nitro Man, or any of Wily's robots. And that female one uses this sword and some strange energy at me," Mega Woman says.

"I have to agree," Mega Man says.

Suddenly, all four say in thought, "We may not be able to take those guys."

Back to Sonic and Eve…

Sonic begins dusting himself, "Of course we can do it. We're Sonic and Eve the Hedgehogs."

"I guess you're right. We handle a lot worse than those two," Eve says.

"Plus, I've got my hype to maintain," Sonic says.

Eve rolls her eyes, "Oh brother."

Then says, "Still, we're going to need to fight smarter not harder, and they don't seem built for this zone in mind."

"So…" Sonic replies.

Sonic and Eve soon nod their heads in reply. With that, Sonic and Eve speed away and U-Turn back. Then they begin to circle around the look.

Seeing this Mega Man and Mega Woman are aiming to fire.

However, Mega Man notices, "Wait… um… whao. I can't target-"

Soon, both Hedgehogs strike at the robots by their back. Sonic then jumps on the bumper while Eve zips in a different direction. Mega Man and Mega Woman try to fire at the hedgehogs, but they keep running, jumping, and flying around.

"I can't get a clear shot at them!" Mega Woman says.

Soon, Eve strikes Mega Woman on the back while Sonic strikes at Mega Man on the side.

Sonic soon stands on the robot, "Sonic and Eve - Two! Annoyingly tenacious robots - ZERO!"

Eve sighs, "Save it until after we know they're done."

"Yeah yeah," Sonic says.

Then kneels to Mega Man, "So. Give up yet?"

But Mega Man swings his fist at Sonic's face. Eve ends up receiving a kick at the jaw by Mega Woman.

Mega Man says in thought, "That's it! Fighting those other Robots at the bank left us too drained…"

Then Mega Man calls out, "Time to stop pulling our punches, jerks!"

Mega Woman then stands up as she uses her powers to bring out what appears to be a viking aged sword.

"I'm done playing around," Mega Woman says and points her sword, "Time to get serious.

Meanwhile in Light Labs of Mega Man and Mega Woman's world…

Dr. Light turns to another robot, "Anything, Auto?"

Auto is a Helper Robot. He has a green and yellow colored body with red ringed eyes.

Auto answers, "Nope, sorry, Doc. All the news is showing is the mess downtown. No sign of those weird robot, or Mega Man and Mega Woman, or -"

Just then, Proto Man teleports back.

"Proto Man!" Dr. Light calls out.

He rushes over in relief, "You're all right! What they showed on the news looked-"

But before Dr. Light can hug him, Proto Man lifts his hand up, gesturing to him to keep his distance.

Proto Man then brings out a flash drive, "Mega Man and Mega Woman pursued the strange attackers through some kind of portal. O took some readings. You might be able to use them to help them."

"... I see. Thank you, Blu… er, Proto Man," Dr. Light says.

Dr. Light then takes the flash drive and walks away to analyze the data.

Rolls walks over in concern, "You're hurt!"

"It's nothing. I'll be fine! I just need time," Proto Man answers.

But Roll says, "Or you let me repair and refuel you here. JUST me, okay? Promise. It saves you time you could be spending helping our brother and friend."

Proto Man stares at Roll and vice versa.

Soon, Proto Man gives in, "... All right. Just for you."

And with that, Roll helps Proto Man to the repair room to get repaired and refueled.

Auto sighs in relief, "Roll got him to listen to reason."

"Good girl," Dr. Light says, "Give me enough peace of mind to work on this data."

Dr. Light types on his computer and watches as the monitor shows the strange ring that the Roboticized Masters walked through.

Auto asks, "So… does this stuff mean anything to you?"

"Actually… yes!" Dr. Light Answers, "Time man forwarded me some research he'd been doing at the Chronos Institute. Strange energies have been detected all over the world in the past few days… And they match Proto Man's readings from this 'Ring' Time that those mysterious attackers used downtown."

"Huh, Think that's got anything to do with all the amne-sia cases and memory errors the news was talkin' about?" Auto asks.

"Perhaps," Dr. Light says, and begins to think, "Hmmm… Thanks to this data, I can extrapolate that they are some kind of fluctuations in space-time."

"You built me to fix 'bots, Doc. You're talkin' outside of my processor range," Auto says.

"I'll update an intro to quantum mechanics into you later. Now - Let's see if I can replicate the distortion from here," Dr. Light says, typing on the computer.

"You can do that?" Auto asks.

"I have no idea," Dr. Light answers, "Its origin point might still be unstable. With the right frequency and intensity… EUREKA! Now to see if we can replicate it here in the lab."

"Way to go, Doc!" Auto cheers, "You did… whatever it is you did there."

"Yes, well, it's a small first step. And we're dealing with other-worldly power here, Auto. I get the feeling this is bigger than all of us. I'm sending out a call for assistance," Dr. Light says. "I just pray Duo receives it and responds in time."

Back in Sonic and Eve's World, Green Hill Zone…

Mega Maga Man and Mega Woman are getting very exhausted. Suddenly, a Warp ring opens. Mega Woman is also exhausted from using her sword to fight against Eve with her sword.

Mega Man notices, "Hey! It's that weird portal thingie!"

"You're right. And I think I know who sent it," Mega Woman says.

"Finally! A way home -"

Suddenly, both Sonic grabs Mega Man's blaster.

"I'm getting REAL tired of this Lemon-Shooter of yours…" Sonic says.

"Lemon Shooter?!" Mega Woman questions.

But then Eve grabs Mega Woman's blaster.

And Sonic and Eve each take some chips from the blasters.

"Ooh! This looks important!" Sonic says.

"Hey!" Mega Woman shouts and tries to attack the hedgehogs.

However, they dodge away.

When Mega Man and Mega Woman try to use their blaster, nothing is working.

"No good! Need to get home, repair, and re-group - or we're toast! But we can't just let these guys get away…" Mega Man says.

But Mega Man ends up with an idea, "Got it! We'll just make them come with us."

Mega Man calls out, "Mega Woman, follow me."

"Okay," Mega Woman says.

Soon, Mega Man and Mega Woman head to the portal. Sonic and Eevee soon see them running.

"Oh, no. They're escaping. However, will I catch them in time?" Sonic asks, sarcastically.

"Enough with the sarcasm," Eve replies.

"I know, just messing," Sonic says.

"Let's grab them!" Sonic says.

Sonic and Eve then spin dashes towards the two robots.

Mega Man says, "Wrong!"

"We've got you!" Mega Woman says.

Soon, Sonic and Eve spin dash Mega Man and Mega Woman through the Warp Ring.

Aboard the Wily Egg…

The two scientists witness what happened and are shocked. Eggman even spit out his drink.

"ACK!" Wily yelps, "Where'd that portal come from?"

Then commands, "Tails Man! Pursue before it closes! Don't lose sight of them!"

Tails Man does just that, and flies through the Warp Ring before it closes.

Dr. Wily looks at the gem and scoffs, "Hmph! Well played, Thomas."

"Thomas?" Eggman questions, "Who is 'Thomas…?"

Wily places the glass down as he explains, "Doctor Thomas Light, the creator of Mega Man. He was an old friend, and now my fiercest rival?" He confirms, "Well… human rival." He then continues, "Along with another old friend of ours, Anthony Jones. AJ for a shot. He was the creator of Mega Woman before he passed away, and Dr. Light decided to become her guardian. I have no doubt Dr. Light was the one to open that portal."

"He can do that?" Eggman asks.

"Oh, yes. Thomas is quite brilliant," Wily says.

"But not as brilliant as us," Eggman replies.

"Oh, no! Not at all! Wily confirms.

"Because we're especially brilliant!" Eggman says.

"Unfathomably so," Wily says.

But Wily also says, "But he can still be a problem, especially at this delicate stage of our plans. He needs to be dealt with immediately."

Suddenly, someone approaches, "You say you need someone to trash Light Labs And Send the old man a message?"

The ones to approach are Bass, Metal Sonic, and Metal Eve.

"Leave it to us," Bass adds.

Meanwhile in Mega City…

Sonic and Eve spin dash Mega Man and Mega Woman out of the portal and land in the street, and unaware Tails Man has followed them. Once they landed, Sonic and Eve noticed something off.

"Huh. Wasn't expecting to wind up in Station Square, or is it Central City?... Or… Westopolis…?" Sonic says, and notices the strange surroundings.

He also notices the robots around, "...Or…?"

"Uh, where are we?" Eve questions.

"I don't know, but I feel that we're not on Mobius anymore," Sonic says.

Soon, Mega Man and Mega Woman get up.

"We're back on our Turf. Our hometown, even. All thanks to my dad, I'm sure," Mega Man says.

"Your dad?" Eve questions.

"Wait - wait - wait - your dad?" Sonic says, confused, "You're a robot, and you called whoever brought us back here 'Dad'...?"

"Why wouldn't he?" Mega Woman replies.

"And since we're home…" Mega Man says and presses a button on his helmet.

Soon, multiple beams land beside the pair.

"...It's time to call for backup…" Mega Woman says.

Soon, Sonic and Eve soon see more robots.

"This… this doesn't look good," Sonic says.

Then Mega Man says, "You were saying something about surrendering earlier? Be our guest."
