And yes, another chapter. Two parties (well, one large party and a lone huntress) join together to defeat one massive enemy. Little do they know that this one difficult battle will open the way for something much more.

Chapter 2: The Flame Haired Hero… Of Sorts
"Here, are you okay?" Uraraka asked as she propped down her friend on the tree, some distance away from the mammoth of a machine known as a Tremortusk.
"Ghh. I think I feel my liver in my mouth." Ashido groaned in pain.
"Okay, ew." Jiro exclaimed as her group managed to catch up with them. All three of them were panting pretty heavily.
"What happened to you guys?" Sato asked.
"We followed the huntress to your location… damn, does she have the stamina to outrun us." Kaminari panted heavily.
"The huntress? You mean that one fighting that robot mammoth?" Koda asked wearily.
"Yeah. That one." Kirishima stated before looking at the fight with the Tremortusk. "I don't know what kind of archery instructors are out there, but she handles her bow way too well. So manly."
"I don't know about you guys, but this reminds me a lot about the Terminator movies." Sero sighed at the sight.
"From the pre-Quirk era? How did you get ahold of them?" Mineta asked.
"Some government owned website I found a while back. Maybe I can introduce it to you guys once we get home."
That's the thing. Ever since they got there, they never found anything that can link this strange forest to anywhere in Japan. None of their phones had any signal, and the strange mechanical fauna never bothered to give them any directions.
The scene became silent once more, with each and everyone in the forest wondering if they can actually make it home. Eventually, Midoriya makes it to their location, putting down Aoyama beside the injured.
"Here." Midoriya gave some of them berries in order to treat their friends. "This might help with the pain."
"What is this supposed to be?" Uraraka asked.
"Berries. Aloy told us this may help with the pain." Midoriya stated. "I don't think we have medical supplies this time."
"Of course. Without Recovery Girl, we have to make due with what we have." Iida sighed.
After being given the berries, the injured students put some of them into their mouths after a concerned pause. Almost immediately did the bitter taste of the berries take hold, and some tried to resist the instinct to spit them out.
"Plech! These are bitter!" Yaoyorozu exclaimed.
"Not quite suitable for my palette…" Aoyama covered his mouth.
"This is not that big of a price to pay. The pain is beginning to dilute…" Tokoyami sighed as the pain began to subside.
"Yeah, I guess so." Ashido sighed in relief.
Now that the injured have begun to rest, Midoriya prompts the others to look back at the fight. Currently, the Tremortusk stomped towards Bakugo and the mysterious red headed huntress. The cannons that were on the back of the machine lay on the floor, along with the cannon created by Yaoyorozu's Quirk.
"Yaomomo, does your cannon still have any ammo?" Uraraka asked.
"It still has. Enough energy for eight more shots." Yaoyorozu raised her fingers to count. "Will that be enough, though?"
"I hope so. And Aloy has disconnected two cannons from the Tremortusk. She wants us to use the cannons of the robot against itself." Midoriya stated.
"Alright, if anyone wishes to help, pick up a cannon." Iida began to order his students. "Midoriya and I will leave our hands empty so we may be able to assist you in mobility."
"Right." Midoriya nodded.
The ones who man the cannons are as follows: Ochako Uraraka, Rikido Sato and Shoji Mezo. Midoriya and Iida spread out across the battlefield to be available for a support in speed in case things get dicey.
"Alright, they're now manning the cannons." Aloy states. "I'm gonna need you behind the machine and wait for my signal."
"And leave the fun to yourself? You'd be much better if you were just an extra in this fight." Bakugo stated.
"Whatever. Just wait for my mark."
"Tch."
Though with arrogant hesitance, Bakugo made his way to the others. Aloy stared down the lumbering machine and held her bow firm.
"What's she doing?" Iida asked.
"I don't know. She has a damn signal she wants to prepare us for." Bakugo sneered.
"Maybe we can see what kind of Quirk she has!" Uraraka exclaimed.
Somehow, Midoriya doubts this. Sure, this new arrival might seem like a hero the way she goes out of her way to help their group and face this literal mammoth of a machine, but he was insistent on his doubts on whether or not she had a quirk.
This doubt was further confirmed when Aloy equips an augment of sorts to her right gauntlet.
"What is that?" Sato asked.
"A support item of sorts?" Midoriya asked around confused before turning to the sight.
That question was answered in a way that no one expected. When the Tremortusk begins to blast fire from its trunk, the red headed huntress runs straight into the fire.
"What in the?!" Uraraka almost dropped her cannon in surprise.
"What's she doing?! Is she running into the fire?!" Iida exclaimed.
"That- that's crazy!" Midoriya exclaimed.
"Tch, did she think she was gonna survive that?!" Bakugo sneered.
A line was shot out from within the wave of flames that attaches to in between the machine's eyes. The line retracts, and Aloy shoots out of the flames, alive and unharmed. And she's flying straight towards the machine.
"Whaaaaa?!" Midoriya exclaimed, while the others had their mouths agape at the sight.
The machine moves its gaze towards Aloy. The cannons beneath its eyes light up and unload their energy, blasting purple streams of plasma through the air.
"She's gonna get hit!" Sato exclaimed.
"Recipro…" Iida began to draw energy into his thrusters.
"Don't interfere yet!" Aloy yelled out after hearing the teens trying to make a move.
"Eh?! What's she on about?!" Bakugo growled.
The plasma shots hit Aloy dead on, but this did no damage whatsoever. Aloy just kept flying at the machine with her bow in her hand.
That's when Midoriya saw it. What was helping the red headed huntress tank all of these otherwise deadly attacks from the machine. Surrounding Aloy appeared to be a glowing layer of energy with a hexagonal pattern. But wait… that must be…
"An energy shield?!" Midoriya gasped.
"Yaaaargh!" Aloy pulled on her bow while in the air and fires.
The arrow lands straight between the Tremortusk's eyes. After a few seconds, it releases a large amount of compressed air, causing a pressurized blast that knocks off the plasma cannons as well as the armor plating on its face.
"There! Fire at the ammo drums on its back!" Aloy barked out an order.
Quickly shaking off the sheer awe the huntress had instilled in them, the teens manning the cannons, plus Bakugo, aim their weapons at the four large drums at the rear of the machine.
"Fire!" Bakugo yelled out.
The teens fire at the four large barrel drums situated on the back of the Tremortusk. The energy blasts hit the target head on, and the drums of ammo fall off and hit the ground.
"There, the plasma cannons are down. And with the ammo drums off, it can't use its salvo artillery." Aloy lands in front of the machine before moving away from it to regroup.
"That's… surprisingly ingenious." Iida gasped upon realizing what this meant. "We're limiting its ranged options."
"So, what should we do now?" Shoji asked.
"I'll need you to distract that thing for the time being." Aloy says as she directs her gaze to the ammo drums on the ground. "I got something to make."
"Wait, what?!" Bakugo was taken aback by this as the huntress made her way to the ammo drums.
Aloy quickly scavenges pieces of metal from the ammo drums, causing some of the teens to look at her in confusion.
"Just trust me on this, I can make something to defeat that thing!" Aloy says without stopping to get her resources. "See that giant sac on its belly?!"
The group turns back to the Tremortusk. The sac of liquid on its belly was still visible, and it was large enough for attacks to easily hit.
"Well, if that's the thing that's gonna defeat that piece of shit, no need for dumbass pleasantries like that and let us handle it." Bakugo scoffed.
"Iida, let's try to hit it as hard as we can." Midoriya stated.
"Right." Iida nodded before the two teens began to charge.
Using both their Quirks, Iida and Midoriya quickly blitzed their way to the machine and aimed their strikes at the machine's belly. They hit dead on, but the strikes were absorbed due to the nature of the sac lining.
"Huh? It managed to tank our attacks!" Midoriya exclaimed. "The sac lining must be a mixture of carbon fiber and some kind of steel alloy."
"Might I suggest that you guys don't do that?" Aloy stated upon hearing what they tried to do. "That sac is filled with highly flammable biofuel. One wrong move and it will cause an incendiary explosion that will burn you to a crisp, even with your powers."
"What?! That's just absurd design!" Uraraka exclaimed. "What does it need all that for?!"
"Why do you think it can breathe fire?"
"Eh? What are you suggesting we do then? Blast it open from afar?" Bakugo asked rhetorically, not intending that question to be answered.
"Not exactly."
"What?"
But the sand haired boy was then ignored as Aloy began to use the parts from the drums in order to craft something. Bakugo just tilted his head at the sight, while the others looked in confusion.
"Um, what are you making?" Sato asked.
"I guess you can say something to rip into that sac of biofuel." Aloy says as she continues to work on the weapon. "Just a bit more, and there."
In the huntress' hand appeared to be another spear of sorts. But the head of the weapon was unusual. It was in a spike shape and it had spiraling grooves going down it. Almost like a drill of sorts.
"Tch. How's that gonna help us?" Bakugo spat out again.
"Just watch. I'm gonna need you guys to distract it." Aloy says as she grips the spear on her hand. "Make it turn around, I need to get to the side of its belly."
"A-Are you sure about this?!" Midoriya stuttered at the certainty the huntress had in this strategy.
"Why not? It's practically a go-to strategy for me."
"I don't even want to know how many times you've had to face something like this for that to happen." Shoji just shook his head at this.
"But again, you guys heard her. Distract the Tremortusk. We need to end this quickly." Iida took the lead once again. "We wish you luck, Aloy."
The huntress nodded knowingly at this. Though the students were skeptical due to her determined nature, they nodded as well, putting their trust onto her and onto this plan.
"Heh, looks like you got competition in the suicidal determination department, Deku." Bakugo stated.
"R-Really?!" Midoriya was taken aback by this random statement.
"Now isn't the time." Iida stated. "Let's hope this works."
With the drill spear in hand, Aloy quickly circles around the machine, aiming her sprint towards the machine's sac on its belly. The Tremortusk lowers its gaze to the huntress and prepares another blast of fire out of its trunk.
"Lock and load, everyone!"
"AP Shot!"
"Full Cowl: Air Force!"
Heavy blasts strike the chassis of the Tremortusk, turning the machine's attention to the teens shooting at it from afar.
"Over here you dumbass elephant!" Bakugo yelled out.
"Now's your chance, Aloy!" Midoriya yelled out.
"Graaaah!"
Taking this opportunity, Aloy forcefully jabs the end of the drill spear into the Tremortusk's sac on its belly. Even after shoving the end even further, the spike hadn't penetrated through the lining.
Aloy activates a mechanism built into the spear in order to activate its drill. The drill begins to dig into the lining of the sac, and slowly but surely wears through the sac.
The Tremortusk turned to interfere with this attack, but was interrupted by another volley of projectiles blasting against its face.
"Eyes on us, big guy!" Sato taunted
"What?! Think we're not worth your time, you bastard?!" Bakugo growled out.
The machine was between two attacks trying to split its attention. In response, it began to lift its front legs up into the air, collecting large amounts of energy in order to discharge it into the floor.
"It's going for another discharge attack!" Shoji yelled out.
"We have to get her out of there!" Iida exclaimed.
"Don't worry about me! I got this!" Aloy says as she reaches for her main spear.
Aloy takes out another augment and attaches it to a node on her main spear. The others look curiously at this, wondering what it was.
"What? Another support item?" Midoriya thought out.
The spear began to collect electricity on its own, and Aloy waited for the exact moment to use it. Once the Tremortusk brings its front legs down, Aloy brings down the point of her spear at just tge right time.
The Tremortusk discharges its collected energy, and a wave of electricity spreads towards the huntress. With Aloy's spear digging into the ground, the augment releases its own discharge that counteracts the other. A surge of energy emanates from both combatants.
"An opposite discharge to counteract the machines' own discharge. She's definitely experienced in taking this thing on." Midoriya noted.
"Like I said, I don't know how someone would fight this thing for that to happen." Shoji stated.
"She must be an experienced hero! A hero who makes incredible use of her support items at that!" Iida stated.
"Go Aloy!" Uraraka yelled out.
Once the discharge from both sources had ceased, Aloy quickly got back to drilling through the machine's biofuel sac. Eventually, the lining was broken through, and the green biofuel that was inside began to spill onto the floor.
"There. Now everyone, go far away from the Tremortusk." Aloy ordered. "And I mean far, cause this is a lot of biofuel I'm gonna ignite."
"Well then come with us. We can ignite that from a distance." Iida says as the others begin to leave the clearing.
"Over here! We'll draw it back with our cannons!" Midoriya waved out.
Nodding at this prospect, the huntress began to run with the others towards the clearing away from the machine. The Tremortusk in question processes what was going on, and its eyes glow a deeper red, intending to end this quickly.
Issuing its trunk upwards, the machine began to muster up its energy on one significant, powerful and bellowing trumpet.
A heavy, boisterous, almost deafening trumpeting noise filled the surrounding area. This was different, and if that thing had lungs, it was definitely using it to its fullest. So much so that the retreating fighters had to stop and cover their ears.
"Gaaaaagh!" Shoji gritted his many teeth, quickly changing the ears on his arms back into hands.
"Gghhhhhk…" Midoriya covered his ears as hard as he could, but even that wasn't enough to have the sound bouncing around his skull.
"Are you guys okay?!" Aloy yelled out from the top of her lungs so her voice could be heard, albeit only slightly.
"I-I can take this…" Midoriya then turned to his friends. "Is everyone else alrigh–"
The green-haired boy gasped as he saw Uraraka having collapsed onto the forest floor. The bellowing noise began to sting her eardrums painfully even with her hands covering the ears, not allowing her to focus at all as her eyes gain a bloodshot look.
"Uraraka- Graaagh!" Midoriya tried to reach out, but quickly stopped himself as the sound quickly hammered itself to his skull. "Is she okay?!"
"Her eardrums have grown more sensitive than I thought! She must be reaching her breaking point!" Iida exclaimed.
Shoji quickly tries to use his extra hands to cover the ears of the brunette. Midoriya crouches down to his friend in order to try and comfort her, but the multi-armed teen's attempt to cover her ears are in vain, made apparent by her still strained and bloodshot eyes.
"Uraraka! Hang in there!" Midoriya tries to call out, unsure of her current state.
Things are not going as well with the group to the side of the clearing. Considering the distance they had between the Tremortusk, they certainly weren't expecting to be hit hard with the machine's deafening trumpet.
"What's going on?!" Mineta yelled out in fear.
"That thing's getting angrier by the second." Todoroki grit his teeth due to the sound.
"Grrraghk." Jiro suddenly began to collapse under the stress, grasping her jacks tightly with one hand while the other hand covered her ear. She's even going as far to use a nearby tree to cover her other ear.
"Oh shit!" Kaminari exclaimed as he knelt down by her side. "I forgot about your hearing sensitivity! Hang in there!"
"I-I'm… trying!" Jiro yelled out in pain.
Eventually, the bellowing trumpet of the Tremortusk ceases, allowing the teens to ease up. Sato continues to lift up the cannon in his hands.
"Is everyone alright?" Sato asked.
"About as fine as you can expect." Bakugo sneered as he held his head.
Midoriya throws Uraraka's arm over his shoulder, helping her up as she continues to struggle with the headache.
"We need to ignite that biofuel before it can hit us with another attack." Midoriya stated.
"I know. Now move, I'll be the one to ignite it." Aloy ordered.
The teens nod at this before making their way out of the clearing. Aloy stares down the lumbering machine, ready to face it head on once again.
"Is everyone behind cover?!" Aloy yelled out for everyone to hear.
The sound of crystals were heard as Todoroki sets up an ice barrier, where Midoriya and his group regroup with the rest of the students.
"Alright, light em' up, Aloy!" Kirishima yelled out.
Drawing a flaming arrow from her quiver, Aloy faces the machine once again. The Tremortusk wraps its trunk around a nearby boulder, and with all of its might, throws it towards the red-haired huntress.
Aloy rolls out of the way of the boulder, and notches the arrow towards her bow, aiming the flaming tip at the biofuel strewn across the forest floor.
"And lights out."
Aloy shoots the flaming arrow and hits the puddle of biofuel. In an instant, the fire makes its way to the Tremortusk and its belly sac erupts in an explosion of fire. The heat of the flames spread out throughout the clearing as cinders and chunks of metal fly off. Aloy smirks at the defeat of the machine; that's one less Apex variant to worry about.
Luckily, none of the students were hurt by the explosion, having been safely relocated behind Todoroki's ice wall. Having shielded themselves from the blast.
"Holy…" Kaminari blurted out once the explosion had ceased. The group looks from behind the ice wall to see the Tremortusk, the machine that had taken down a lot of their group, currently smoldering in the flames of its own biofuel. "She's insane. Incredibly skilled, but insane."
"Not gonna lie, she knows how to end a fight with a bang." Bakugo exclaimed.
"Finally, it's over." Mineta sighed as he laid down on the ground.
Placing her bow behind her back, Aloy turns to the students and walks towards them, specifically eyeing the injured among them.
"Are you guys alright?" Aloy asked. "You guys took quite the hit."
"Yeah, and I was worrying we would lose some of us to that robot mammoth." Iida bowed in respect. "Thank you."
"Well, I guess you're lucky I came by." Aloy sighed. "But still, what are you kids doing out here? It's the middle of the night, and I doubt anyone would be in their right of mind to send children on a machine hunt at this time."
"Well… that's the thing." Kirishima sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "We have no idea how we got here. And frankly, I was beginning to think there wasn't anyone in the area until you came along."
"But how are you able to fight that thing?!" Midoriya quickly went up to the forefront with an eager expression. "What are those support items?! Do they enhance your Quirk?! Do you even have a Quirk?!"
"Whoa, slow down with the questions, kid." Aloy put out her arms defensively. "I'm sure we all have questions to ask, but I don't think we'll have a chance to answer any if we get spotted by another machine."
"You're right. We need to find a safe place to rest." Iida noted.
"There's a shallow cave somewhere to the west, I think you guys can rest there." Aloy stated. "Besides, the nearest settlement would take a couple hours to walk to."
"Well, you seem to know the lay of the land pretty well." Sero stated. "Lead the way."
The students began to work and help their injured stand and walk, slinging each other's arms on their shoulders so they could walk. It was time to head out.
However, Aloy noticed something off. Two of the students were seen clutching their heads in pain. The purple haired girl with the earphone jacks and the brunette with the rosy cheeks. Something seems to be wrong with them.
"Is something wrong? Are you hurt?" Aloy quickly approaches the two.
Somehow, this didn't investigate any response from the two. And immediately, the huntress noticed what was wrong. Out of the ears of the two girls, a mixture of blood and pus seem to be leaking out.
"Wait a minute…" Aloy quickly confirms her suspicions with her Focus. Scanning their ears for a brief moment shows that the two had burst their eardrums, and are currently dealing with the effects that come along with it. "Well shit."
"What? What do you mean 'Well shit'?" Bakugo asked upon hearing this.
"What is… going on?" Uraraka weakly raised her head.
"It must've happened when the Tremortusk did that powerful trumpet." Aloy sighed. "Your friends here had ruptured their eardrums. This is worse than I thought."
"Wait, what?!" Midoriya gasped at this.
"Oh no." Yaoyorozu covered her mouth in shock.
"Wait, does this mean they're deaf now?!" Kaminari exclaimed, before moving on the snaps his fingers next to the two. "Hello? Can you hear this?"
"What are you even doing, dumbass?" Jiro groaned
"They burst their eardrums, dude. Of course they can't hear." Sero exclaimed.
"How bad is it?" Iida asked.
"I don't know yet. But we still have to move. The sooner we get to the cave, the sooner I can " Aloy says before standing up. "Follow me. I'll lead you guys to the cave."
"Thank you, really. Aloy, is it?" Midoriya asked.
"Yes." Aloy nodded before beginning the trek.
-Five Minutes Later-
Turning around a corner, Aloy finds herself facing a small but spacious cave, with Kirishima and Ashido following closely behind. Fortunately, there was a campfire set up inside along with a couple of chairs fashioned from logs and stumps.
"Well, this is something." Kirishima exclaimed.
"Pretty roomy. I like it." Ashido smirked.
"At least it's enough to keep safe from the machines." Aloy sighed. "Come on in, people. Make yourselves comfortable."
With that, Aloy helped the students pile into the cave, allowing the injured among them to sit comfortably on the stone and dirt walls. She quickly gets to work helping them ease their pain with medicinal berries.
Meanwhile, Midoriya was currently writing something on a notepad, sitting next to Uraraka and Jiro. The two girls weren't in such a good mood, apparantly losing your sense of hearing wasn't such a fun experience.
"Okay, let's look at the extent of the damage." Midoriya then showed the two girls the notepad, which read the words 'I'll check your hearing on both sides, tell me if you can hear anything.'
The two of them nod at this prospect, before the bush-haired boy lifted up his hands. He brought his fingers up to the brunette's ears first, snapping them many times in hopes of garnering a hopeful response.
Uraraka shook her head after both ears were tested; both ears ruptured, not a good start at all.
He did the same for Jiro, and the results were interesting. Her earphone jacks were still able to detect sound, but that doesn't change the fact that her eardrums burst and her head was dealing with the repercussions.
The green haired teen sighed. Bad was an understatement, especially since the girl he had a crush on had her eardrums burst, and he couldn't do anything about it.
Midoriya just sighed, before writing "I'm sorry" on the notepad for them to see.
"It's okay, Deku-kun. I'm sure we can find treatment somewhere." Uraraka smiled before chuckling. "I'm still talking normally, right? I don't know if I'm saying what I'm meant to say."
"Hmph. Yeah." Midoriya nodded visibly. "We're going to find a hospital, and after that, we'll find a way home to Japan."
"I'm sorry. What did you say?"
The green haired boy perked up and turned to see Aloy walking towards him with a perplexed expression.
"You come from Japan? But… that isn't possible." Aloy pondered, crossing her arms as she tried to process what had happened. "What used to be Japan is probably Quen territory by now. Are you all Quen by any chance?"
"Wait, what? The Quen? W-What are you talking about?" Midoriya asked. "Where are we at the moment?"
The huntress sighed, wondering how to put this lightly. They were talking about places of the Old Ones, places that were decimated when the Faro Plague took its course. It would be wise to tell them how the place was before, not how it is in the present.
"The United States. Or more specifically, the state of California. The ruins of it anyway." Aloy stated.
By now, the conversation had caught the attention of the other students, now surrounding the huntress with concerned faces.
"We're in America?! But… but how is that possible?!" Kaminari asked. "We were just about to do more hero training!"
"Yes, we were. But even with that, I feel like there's an even more important question to ask, kero." Tsuyu stated, putting a finger on her chin.
"Like why the fuck is America crawling with robot animals that want to kill us?!" Mineta bursted into a panicked state, and rightfully so considering the danger that had befallen them since they arrived in the forest.
"Hold on. Aloy says it is the ruins of California. Does that mean these robots are the cause of it? Are they from some kind of villain?" Iida proposed a hypothesis to the problem.
"If so, what kind of Quirk can do this?" Todoroki pondered.
"Ooookay, you're throwing too much information too fast." Aloy quickly got the student's attention once again. "First of all, heroes? Villains? What tribe are you even from anyway?"
"Um, can you run that by us again?" Ashido asked.
"Did you just assume we come from a tribe, flame-hair?" Bakugo sneered.
"Well, I certainly never heard anyone use those terms in my travels." Aloy stated.
"What do you mean?" Midoriya asked.
"Wait, everyone." Kirishima raised a hand, grabbing the attention of everyone in the cave. "Before we do anything, something's glowing in Midoriya's pocket. Is anyone gonna mention that?"
All the students dropped their current worries to see what the hardening Quirk user was talking about. Sure enough, Midoriya seemed to have something in his pocket, and it was glowing. Blinking with a blue light, more likely.
"Oh, right. I almost forgot I had this." Midoriya stated as he took out the object from his pocket.
The object in question appeared to be a small device of sorts, bearing a rectangular shape slightly larger than a smartphone which had three metal apparatuses that stuck out of one side. These apparatuses seemed to have the purpose of focusing energy into a single point.
"Oi, Deku. Why the fuck do you have that in your pocket?" Bakugo asked.
"I-I found it after we found ourselves in the forest. It's somewhat broken, b-but I thought it has a connection to how we were brought here." Midoriya stated. "It's just a presumption though. B-But I feel like it's too important not to take with."
"Are we able to fix it?" Tsuyu asked. "I don't think any of us have the technical expertise to get it working again."
"Oh, um… I think I can help with that." Aloy puts her hand out. "I may be able to figure out what's wrong with it.
With some slight hesitation, the green haired boy gave the strange device to the huntress, to which she immediately went to work inspecting it.
Aloy taps the Focus next to her ear, and with the purple holographic interface augmenting her vision, begins to access the device's internal systems.
"There's data here. Let's see if this leads to something." Aloy muttered to herself.
The huntress swipes open an interface, scrolling through the admittedly small database of the device in order to access the internal systems. One particular data file caught her eye.
"Transwarp Prototype? This is interesting." Aloy muttered with intrigue.
"Erm… what are you doing, Aloy?" Sato asked, prompting the huntress to see that the students had developed a confused expression with what she was doing. "You're doing pretty strange hand motions there."
"Yeah, what's up with that?" Todoroki asked.
"Oh, right. Sorry. I have what's known as a Focus here on my right temple." Aloy points towards the small, triangular shaped device on the side of her head. "It's an augmented reality device, capable of using holograms to show me an extrasensory interface."
Of course, no one gets what any of that means. No one except the green haired boy.
"Wait, are you saying that it gives you a second sight?!" Midoriya asked in awe.
"Whatever makes it simpler." Aloy says before continuing to scan the device.
Suddenly, a new prompt opens from the device's software that read "Transwarp Node #1: Requesting Access With Transwarp Node #2." Of course, this quickly caught her eye.
"Requesting access, huh? Sure, why not?" Aloy interacted with the prompt before her.
As this happened, a second prompt opened up with an exclamation sign; an error has occurred. The cause of the error was stated in the following text, "Internal Software Overloaded: System Reboot Required."
"System reboot. Fine." Aloy says before placing the strange device, or the Transwarp Node, on the floor.
"System reboot?" Iida raises an eyebrow before Aloy takes out her spear, surprising the students once again.
"Whoawhoawhoa. A system reboot… with a spear?!" Kaminari exclaimed.
"Yeah. A system reboot with the spear." Aloy says nonchalantly at this response.
The huntress then used the blunt end of her spear to make contact with the device. With an augment on said end of the spear, she begins a system override to reboot.
Once that had happened, everyone in the cave watched curiously as the device rebooted, and the energy began to be focused into a single point between the apparatuses.
Then the energy grew, swirling around almost like a whirlpool, which certainly brought intrigue to both parties involved.
"Wait a minute… doesn't this look like…" Midoriya couldn't figure out what it was, but something about this glowing sphere of energy was familiar.
Then, a sudden burst that almost caught everyone off guard. The energy instantly formed into a discus shape, with the center of the shape showing a new place entirely.
Aloy didn't seem to recognise it, but the students quickly figured out where it was; their own classroom. Though they are in a sort of shock at the sight, both parties came to the same conclusion of the mysterious device.
"A rift portal?" Both Aloy and Midoriya asked at the same time, with the latter having his mouth agape at the sight.
