Big Brother: Ani

Little Brother: Otōto

Father: Oto-san

A fresh ambrosia scent of many blossoming flowers consumed her nostrils full, heightened by the rustling wind. With closed eyes, she took another deep breath in. The day was slowly approaching the center of the cloud-free ether. It felt warm all around and oddly pleasant-as if her surroundings were some sort of clandestine bliss. Rin slowly opened her eyes, seeing the luminescent colors all around her. Colors of the bedded flowers, tall trees, and radiantly blue sky. Every color and detail around her held in her view, was strikingly bold and vibrant. There was an indisputable peace here. None like she had ever truly known in her life. Rin began to walk within the endless field of flowers. Smiling as she gazed down to see her feet completely bare. She suddenly shifted her eyes to see the same white colored gown that passed her knees that she had worn to bed the night before. She frowned and lifted her hands to her face, searching over the details of her palms and fingers. There was a soft glow to her hands and arms that did not define the logic of her normal life. As she pondered over it all, neither did this place.

*Youkei Sesshomaru by Kaoru Wada

"Why are you here?"

Rin sharply gasped and turned completely around to see the face of the man that captivated her from the start. The one that nuzzled himself into her life as of recent, in ways that she began receiving as beyond the normality of her everyday life. "Sesshomaru?" He furrowed his darkened brows and looked on at her in vexation. Rin reached to place her hand over her chest-attempting to calm her racing heart as she gazed at who she thought was Sesshomaru. At least to her he looked and sounded like him. But this man's ears were elongated and sharp at the ends. He wore a dark purple crescent moon over his forehead and two sharp magenta stripes over his right and left cheekbones. He wore an all-white kimono with a red-colored obi tied around his waist. Somehow he appeared taller and much more domineering. None of what she had known of him manifested in his appearance.

Her lips parted slightly and the lobes in her lungs tightened as she felt all the air around them suddenly diminish. Almost as if there was not enough around to adequately fill them. She took one step back, near panting. "W-What's going on?"

"You should not be here. How is this possible?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at her.

"W-What happened... to your face, Sesshomaru?"

He took a step towards her with a glint of worry in his eyes. "You must leave here at once. It is too dangerous for you."

"B-But..." Suddenly Rin felt her entire body violently jolt away from him. She squinted her eyes shut and felt as if she was being pulled away by some unknown force for what felt like... hours. Then it abruptly stopped and she felt as if she was lightly floating. Around her was complete silence and not in a way she had ever heard or felt before. The silence was deafening and completely vast. She slowly opened her eyes which were slightly blurry. Before her was complete darkness. Slowly blinking her eyes she could see very small flickers of white lights all around her.

'What is this?' Rin gazed around her and her eyes finally landed on a enormous silhouette of... 'Sesshomaru?'. Tilting her head, her eyes widened. In his hands he appeared to be holding a small brownish-blue sphere. She watched as he covered it with both his hands shielding it to his chest. Suddenly she turned to hear the cackling voice of a cloaked figure approaching them. She saw as Sesshomaru jolted around to face it. His countenance was completely full of weariness and fatigue, as if he had fought a endless battle and was standing face to face with the last standing opponent. Rin was completely speechless. Everything around her felt so tangibly real. 'Sesshomaru...?'

"Dog-demon, it beest mine. Now is the end for thee." Rin heard the figure speak but it was as if the words echoed inside of her mind. Her eyes widened and she gasped upon seeing an electric whitish-blue burst of energy charge towards Sesshomaru and in the blink of an eye he was completely obliterated. All that remained behind were particles of whitish dust that fell down into the emptiness of the vast atmosphere.

"No!" She screamed reaching her hand out to the empty space where Sesshomaru once floated. And gone also was the sphere he held in his hands. She looked to see the figure raise his covered hand up towards her.

"Die, human."

'No!' she thought after seeing the same whitish-blue burst charge towards her. The light felt blindingly powerful, consuming.

"NO!" Rin jolted up and gazed around to see the familiar furnishings of her bedroom. Hyperventilating, she placed her right hand over her chest and closed her eyes taking in several deep breaths. After her last deep breath she slowly exhaled and opened her eyes again. "It was just a dream... just a dream," she turned to place her feet on her carpeted floor and brushed her bangs back, contemplating. 'But, why did it feel so real?'

Rin quickly turned to view the time on her bedroom alarm clock. "It's already twelve," she sighed. "At least it's Saturday." After sitting for several more minutes, Rin proceeded to prepare for the day. Today was student's day on campus and Kagome was more than likely waiting for her call so they could arrive at the Student's Union together. Today she decided to wear a pink mini-skirt and matching sleeveless crop-top. After curling her mid-thigh long hair and applying light make-up, she grabbed her matching purse and headed out the door.

"What do you think it all means Rin?" Kagome asked as they both exited the doors of their apartment. "I mean, dreams often have alternative meanings, don't they?"

"I'm not sure. It all just felt so much more than a typical dream," shifting her purse strap back on her shoulder. "It was like I was there. Like really really there. Like I could physically smell the flowers and... Sesshomaru," she paused in her steps, contemplating again. "But, you are right. It could mean something else... or nothing at all."

Kagome turned and placed her hands over Rin's shoulders and smiled. "We all have some pretty far-fetch dreams. I'm sure it means nothing. Don't worry yourself about it, okay."

Rin smiled. "You're right Kagome."

"And today after the week we've had, it's time for some fun. There's supposed to be a live band accompanied with a stage and everything. Not to mention all the food stands, music, and of course our silver-haired friends," Kagome sighed happily. "I love Student's Day."

"Rin, Kagome!" Sango called, waving over to her friends, who was also standing with Sheensa. "Guys, how was your week?"

Kagome rolled her eyes and smiled. "As per usual."

"Are you girls ready for the day?" Sheensa asked. "I overheard that 'Turning Red' is said to perform today, courtesy of our Student President."

"Seriously. I love them!" Kagome shrieked.

"Uh, Rin. When the hell did you get your belly button pierced and why wasn't I invited?" Sheensa pointed out.

"Oh this," Rin gazed over at her exposed flat abdomen. "It was my 21st birthday, remember? Weren't you like home at that time or something?"

"Oh." Sheensa looked on contemplatively.

"Yeah, Sheensa we all did." Sango reminded. Kagome and Rin giggled.

"You guys are no fair," Sheensa added. "Anyways, let's grab some food then we can view all the frats and sororities line dance by the stage."

After selecting snacks from the various food stands the girls found themselves conversing and relishing in the cadence of the music playing. The field was full of students chatting and dancing about. Enjoying their free day from classes. The aroma of delicious smelling sustenances filled in air and everyone around looked to be having a good time.

"One for you, you, and finally you," Sheensa offered over to the group.

"Passionfruit Martini! My favorite," Rin stated, sipping down the drink. "Hmm... so sweet."

"This is the best part about Student's Day. DRINKS ON CAMPUS!" Sango exclaimed.

A group of about five men walked by with beers in hand, fists pumping enthusiastically, screaming, "YEAHHH!"

Each of the girls burst out in laughter.

"Oh, my god," Kagome giggled. "It's not a day party without a good drink."

"Apparently." Rin stated rolling her eyes.

Suddenly a group of women in all pink paraphernalia line-danced ostentatiously across from them.

"Who are they again?" Rin asked.

Sheensa looked on disdainfully. "They are the Betas. Recognized for their posh looks and academics. Every guy on campus wants a piece of them. They even have their own sorority house."

"They seem a little... conceited."

"They are. So much so that in order to become a member you have to have a certain boob to butt ratio."

Kagome scoffed. "Are you serious?"

"She's right. I heard there is even a weight limit. One of my classmates from sophomore year tried to get in and let me tell you, she had a pristine academic report," Sango added. "Apparently she wasn't 'pretty' enough."

"That should be a crime." Kagome stated.

"There's Miroku," Sango pointed over to the line of Etas line dancing. "And Inuyasha and Sesshomaru!"

Rin blushed. "There they are."

"Awe, they fit in so well with the Etas. Here they are as new students and they are already taking over campus." Kagome stated.

Rin gazed over watching as the Etas ended their line dance and waited by for the Betas to start again with each song change. Sesshomaru was wearing his Etas shirt that was slightly damp with dripping sweat. His eyes were focused on something or really someone. Every muscle of his face was completely unaltered but his eyes did not leave where he watched. Rin saw as he broke his gaze to look over at Koga who was smirking and saw Sesshomaru nod his head towards him. He then gazed back at whoever held his attention in that moment. Rin frowned.

"I should tell you guys that the Betas and Etas kinda have a thing for each other," Sheensa added as they all watched the group dance before them as well as many other students. Rin and Kagome looked over to Sheensa for more of an explanation. "Well, apparently the first founders of their organization fell in love and helped each other spread their beliefs across the country. After that it's said they were married and their love was something to be remembered. It's common to see Etas and Betas paired up. No matter what campus they join on."

Kagome frowned. "Oh, I've heard of that but, I didn't think it was a real thing."

Rin exhaled in exasperation.

Sango looked on remorsefully. "Eh, Kagome... looks like one of the Betas is flirting with Inuyasha."

Kagome quickly darted her eyes at where Sango was pointing. "Where?"

"Relax Kagome, I'm sure it's nothing." Rin stated.

"Is that..." Kagome stated.

"Kikyo." Sango added regrettably.

"And... who is that?" Sheensa asked.

"Kikyo and Kagome use to be good friends freshman year." Rin explained.

"She became so fake ever since she joined the Betas. I totally forgot she was one of them." Kagome added.

Rin gazed back over to Sesshomaru. Whoever he had his eyes on was now facing him and from whatever she was saying Rin saw him smile from ear to ear.

"And it looks like the Beta's president has her eyes on Sesshomaru." Sheensa stated.

Rin scoffed. "And who the hell is that?"

"Rin!" Kagome exclaimed, astounded.

"That's Victoria. She's an Economics major," Sheensa looked to Rin. "Do they know each other?"

"I have no idea. I've never seen her before."

"Welp, let's make some new friends today!" Sheensa spat sarcastically and grasped Rin's arm, dragging her along.

"SHEENSA! No! I can't."

"Rin, come on. Let's see what's so amusing over there. They are obviously a little too familiar with each other."

Rin gazed back towards Kagome and Sango. Kagome shrugged. Rin sighed and rolled her eyes. As they arrived she then turned to face Sesshomaru who lifted his right eyebrow as they approached.

"Sesshomaru, greetings." Sheesna proclaimed and gazed over at Rin.

"Hn."

"Sesshomaru, Hey." Rin stated timidly.

"Rin." Sesshomaru nodded with a small smile.

"And you are?" Rin looked over at the bright hazel eyes of Victoria. She was dressed in an all pink Betas sweater with a mid-thigh white crimped skirt. Her skin was light-brown and her hair was jet-black falling down to her mid-back in loose curls. She was physically breath-taking.

"This is Rin," Sheensa stated with a perfunctory forced smile. "And I'm Sheensa. We are Sesshomaru's friends."

"Aw, how cute. Looks like you already have a gathering of groupies Sesshomaru." Victoria expressed condescendingly.

"Excuse me?" Sheensa spat.

"Oh, no offense but Sesshomaru and I were having a private conversation so..."

"Victoria!" Sesshomaru boomed darting his eyes towards her.

Victoria gasped. "Sesshomaru?"

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at her and with that look alone she straightened her back and spoke, "We'll talk later," she turned to face Rin and Sheensa. "Nice to meet you both, I guess," Victoria proceeded to walk in the direction of the rest of her group but turned back to them. "I like the pink by the way. You kinda look like one of us," she stated with a forced smile and shrugged her shoulders. "Anyway."

"As if." Rin whispered rolling her eyes.

"That bitc-"

"Don't!" Rin stated placing her hand on Sheensa's shoulder. "It's not even worth it."

"Rin," Sesshomaru spoke lowly. "Come walk with me."

"Okay," she turned to Sheensa. "See you in a bit."

They walked in the direction of the stage as the next group of artist began setting up their equipment. Rin stared off in the distance but felt the piercing eyes of Sesshomaru burning the right side of her face, she blushed. "What is it, Sesshomaru?" She gazed up at him and saw his smirked lips and piercing honey golden eyes. She could physically feel her heart thumping in her chest.

"You. You are pleasing to the eye."

Rin chuckled. "Stop it."

Sesshomaru shifted his gaze on her hair and lightly grasped a curled strand twirling it in his fingers. "This looks lovely... on you," he then shifted his gaze down to her flatten abdomen and raised his eyebrows. "Oh?"

Rin's blush deepened and she placed her hand on her abdomen, twirling the dangled piece of jewelry hanging from her belly button. "I got this done last year. Complements of turning 21." She admitted, shrugging.

"So you're 22 then?" He asked and reached inspecting the jewel with his fingers. Rin's abdominal muscles tightened and she bit her lower lip, stifling her gasp.

"Y-Yes," she managed to admit. "And how old are you Mister Eta?"

Sesshomaru chuckled and looked over her head. "It doesn't matter."

"Well, you can't be that much older than me, right?" Rin questioned curiously.

Sesshomaru shifted his eyes back to hers and smirked. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

She smiled and shrugged. "Try me."

"You are curious today."

"I am. And also who was your little friend," Rin asked bravely. "She's quite pretty ."

Sesshomaru scoffed and nodded. "She's a classmate and now apparently we have a group project together."

Rin frowned. "Is there anyone else in your group?"

Sesshomaru lifted his right eyebrow. "Rin-"

"Yo, Rin!" Miroku stated approaching them with Inuyasha. "We were looking for Kagome and Sango. Figured you'd be with them but I see my Tail has found you."

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes.

"They're over by the food stands," Rin pointed in their direction. "Probably ordering more drinks."

"And that's my cue. Save a spot here for us."

"Rin," Inuyasha nodded. "Good to see ya'."

"You too Inuyasha."

"I'm still surprised to see ya' came out, Ani." Inuyasha stated crossing his arms over his chest.

"You long for me to engulf myself in the frivolities and gaieties of modern human pursuits," Sesshomaru spat. "Isn't that right, Otōto."

Rin blushed. "Don't tease him Inuyasha. I'm glad to see him out. Let the endless night of gaieties commence!"

Sesshomaru chuckled inwardly. "Is that so, Rin?"

Rin shoulder bumped him and smiled. "Of course." Sesshomaru nodded and Inuyasha observed them with raised eyebrows with an expressive frown.

Inuyasha chuckled. "I like ya' Rin. I think you're good for my brother. Anyone that can stand to deal with him for more than five minutes deserves some sort of reward."

"Drinks on me!" Miroku screeched with a tray of various beverages approaching Inuyasha, Rin, and Sesshomaru along with Kagome, Sango, and Sheensa. "Fresh out of sake Sesshomaru, I know that's your thing."

"Hn." Sesshomaru stated gazing over at the stage and crossed his arms. "No matter."

"So we'll talk later, right. Of our current Beta-plague." Kagome whispered to Rin.

"Of course."

The lead singer of one of the bands present on stage reached for the microphone and everyone around drew their attention to the stage. "Students of Scottman University! We are 'Turning Red' and from our selection tonight we'll be performing various songs from some of our favorite artist before releasing previews from our new album. Are you READY?"

The applause echoed all around the field. Inuyasha draped his arm around Kagome's shoulder. "Kagome, didn't ya' say this was one of your favorite bands?"

Kagome blushed. "You remembered!"

"I did. I actually started listening to them after ya' told me. Gotta know what the one I'm interested in is listening too."

"They say the type of music a person attracts to can tell you a lot about their personality." Miroku added.

Kagome encircled her hand around Inuyasha's and gazed up at him. "Thank you Inuyasha."

*"First we will perform, 'Into Your Room', by Holly Humberstone. Let's go!"

Rin covered her mouth with her hands. "I love this song."

After listening and hearing the crowd sing along Sesshomaru spoke, "What would be your typical genre of music, Rin?" He asked gazing down at her.

"I really love classical music. Especially when I'm studying."

Sesshomaru lifted an eyebrow and smirked. "Can you dance the waltz?"

Rin blushed. "I've never learned. Can you?"

"I can instruct you in that too."

Rin's blush deepened again. "I'd love to see that, Sesshomaru."

Sesshomaru stepped behind her and closed the distance between them. He reached over and encircled his arms around her waist, pulling her toward his chest and whispered in her ear, "If you are able to step and slide with me in perfect synchronization. Would there be anything we cannot master together?"

Rin bit her lower lip and wrapped her arms around his. "No, there isn't," she gazed up at his piercing honey golden eyes fervently. He watched her eyes longingly as she felt the rise and fall of his warm and firm chiseled chest. Her lips parted slightly in attempts to take in much more needed air, refusing to break from his restrained and fixed gaze. There was an untamed fire within his eyes. A fire that could burn her sweetly whole. One that she was growing desperate for. One that she needed to keep her burning every single day of her life from this moment on.

Sesshomaru shifted his gaze to her parted lips for a moment and leaned to whisper in her ear again. "Do I still make you nervous, Rin?"

She felt a warm shiver trail down her spine, titillating her entire body. Her heart now was begging to be released from her chest, audibly thundering in her ears. She exhaled slowly, meeting his eyes again. "Very," she gasped once she felt the tip of his nose graze the back of her ear and down to the peak of her jugular vein. She heard and felt him deeply inhale and groan in delight.

"You are certainly a rarity, Rin." Sesshomaru tighten his grip around her waist. "You have the power to have armies at their knees. A man's greatest weakness."

Rin bit her lower lip again and giggled. "Certainly not. I'm just your average girl."

Sesshomaru moved from her neck gazing down at her incredulously. "Not to me." he stated matter of factly.

Rin buried her eyes into his, finding herself lost in them. Forgetting everything around them. Sesshomaru lifted his left arm to cup her cheek and caressed it softly. In a split second she saw Sesshomaru as he was in her dream. Displaying that dark purple crescent moon on his forehead and those two sharp magenta stripes on his cheeks. She furrowed her brows and placed her hand on his chest, pushing him away. "NO!" In the blink of an eye everything from her dream faded. As if it was all a figment of her imagination.

Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

"O-Oh, um," she blinked and rubbed her eyes with her fists. "I thought I saw..."

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at her. "Saw what, Rin?"

"N-Nothing," she searched his eyes apologetically. "I'm sorry."

"Are ya' okay, Rin?" Inuyasha asked peering over Sesshomaru's shoulder.

"Y-Yes, I am. I just... Sesshomaru, you just... looked so different."

Sesshomaru stiffened and Inuyasha gazed around them and leaned over whispering, "Different how?"

"I-I really can't explain it. I'm sorry." Rin explained. Inuyasha met Sesshomaru's gaze and furrowed his brows. "It's okay, I know I've been drinking a couple of martinis. No worries." she chuckled.

"Rin, let me take you home. Perhaps it's time for you to rest." Sesshomaru offered.

"Yeah, Rin. Ya' look a little flushed. Let him take ya' back. Are ya' dizzy or anything?"

"Y-Yes, actually I think I am a bit dizzy." Rin expressed, placing the back of her hand over her forehead. "It's been a bit much for me to-... Oh." Rin felt her feet leave the ground, finding herself sitting bridal style in Sesshomaru's arms. She peered over his shoulder, hearing the fading voice of Inuyasha.

"I'll update your friends. Go rest!"

Rin shifted her eyes up at Sesshomaru who gazed on imperturbably, as if nothing could faze him. The fact that he was now carrying her in his arms across the student's field. Many eyes were now on them as others snickered, whispered, and giggled at the obvious absurd gesture Sesshomaru was openly displaying. Rin's cheeks scorched in heat. "Sesshomaru. You don't have to carry me, you know. I can walk."

"Nonsense. You are not well."

"No really, it's fine. I'm just a little dizzy. I didn't sleep well last night."

Sesshomaru shifted his gaze meeting her dark chocolate orbs without ceasing his hold on her or his stride. "And why is that?"

"I-I just didn't is all." Rin expressed and smiled up at him. "But, I really appreciate you looking out for me. It's very thoughtful of you."

"I will see to it that you are safely in your bed chambers."

Rin stiffened. "M-My what?" Looking over to see the front glass doors of her apartment, Sesshomaru unceremoniously kicked the doors open, walking past the front desk towards the elevator. 'How did we get here so fast? I must really be out of it today.'

"Excuse me, sir," voiced the Concierge of the front desk. "I need to see some form of identification."

"What floor, Rin?" Sesshomaru asked.

"5th floor." Sesshomaru pressed for the fifth floor and proceeded to walk into the elevator. "Do you think you should give her your ID?"

"No need."

"Sir, sir!" the woman screamed dashing her feet towards the elevator door as it quickly closed.

Rin chuckled. "You are fearless. Aren't you?"

His lips curved in a simper. "Rin needs to rest."

After reaching Rin's front door and unlocking it. Sesshomaru strolled past the small kitchen into the open bedroom. The small apartment was something like a studio. Even for such a small person, her bed was queen sized with all white sheets with a matching comforter and pillow set. After gently placing her on the bed, he gazed around the small area until his eyes landed on a silver plated picture frame sitting on her work desk.

"My apartment is pretty small, I know." Rin stated shifting herself to sit up.

Sesshomaru walked over to the desk, picking up the picture, tilting his head. "This must be your parents," he observed. "Are you an only child?"

"Yes I am, actually." she smiled nervously, meeting his gaze.

"You have endured much, Rin. Your resilience has not gone unnoticed."

"Thank you. And thank you for making sure I got here safely. I still don't know what came over me today."

Sesshomaru placed the picture back on the desk and proceeded towards the bed, gazing over Rin's entire frame. "Are you sure you're okay, Rin?"

"Yes I am, but I'm kinda afraid to go to sleep. It's silly, I know."

Sesshomaru began untying his shoe laces and Rin stared at him in complete disbelief. "I will stay here with you."

*The Only Exception- Paramore

"You will what- y-you don't have to do that, Sesshomaru," Rin watched him with mouth agape as he removed his sneakers and laid supine on the bed, placing his arms behind his head next to her. His eyes were staring straight at the ceiling completely unbothered by her sharp gasp at his sudden gesture.

He turned to face her. "Come Rin, lie down."

She hesitated for a moment before scooting over and placing her palms underneath her head and laid adjacent to his chest. She peered up at him as he stared back at the ceiling. "Thank you again."

"You don't have to thank me, Rin," he reassured and shifted his gaze back to her. He watched her eyes as she gazed up at him admiringly. There was a distinct receptiveness to her eyes that glinted a deep iridescent brown. Eyes that read of ones that could be trusted. Eyes that read of ones that could be solely loyal to him. He had never seen a woman look into his eyes with such depth and untainted desire. He could see his reflection in her orbs, slowly losing himself in everything that she was becoming to him. He reached to place a strand of hair behind her ear and did not fail to notice her light shiver as he lightly grazed her soft cheek. "You are peculiar. You're beauty knows no limitations."

Rin bit her lower lip and lightly sighed. "And you are exceptionally exquisite in every kind of way a man could possibly be. You never fail to surprise me." Sesshomaru removed his other hand from behind his head and placed both his palms on her chin, drawing her closer to him. He watched her eyes as his nose lightly scraped hers. Her heart was racing audibly in his yokai ears. Her breath hitched as he lightly brushed his nose against hers. Closing his eyes, he reached to press a light kiss on her forehead. She smiled and placed her right palm on his cheek, tracing where she had seen the two magenta stripes there from her dream. His skin was cool to the touch and there was no sign of the stripes, only his pale soft skin. She moved her hand to caress his rounded ear, observing him gently sigh in contentment. She narrowed her eyes at his ears, contemplatively. "So interesting."

He opened his eyes again. "What is?"

"I had a dream of you last night. In my dream, everything I saw felt so real," she explained. "Your ears... they were so sharp at the ends."

He gazed at her pensively, searching her eyes for any real explanation. "What else did you see?"

"You were different then. Like... not like a man but, something... something else." She felt him grab her by the waist and pull her towards him with her back against his chest.

"Sesshomaru...?"

"Rin, don't say such silly things," he wrapped his arms protectively around her. "It was just a dream."

Rin sighed deeply and rested her head against his neck, feeling her eyes grow heavy. "You're right."

He squeezed her tighter and nuzzled his chin in her hair. "Rest Rin, I am here now."

Rin welcomed his embrace and felt her eyes slowly close, never wanting to leave the warmth and comfort of being deeply wrapped in his presence and scent.

Rin awoke the next morning. Tossing and turning in her sheets, reaching her arm out to the side where Sesshomaru had lain. As she patted that side, all of the somnolence in her eyes drifted away in a instant. That spot was empty. After opening her eyes and gazing around her surroundings, she noticed that Sesshomaru was gone. "Sesshomaru...?" After hearing no response she smiled, reflecting on last night. How he had been the perfect gentleman. How he had ensured her safety and comfort. She would call him soon, but not after calming the swirling butterflies that fluttered involuntarily in the depths of her abdomen. She of course needed to update her friends on last nights events.

Sesshomaru knocked on the doors of his father's home library. He had recently arrived home after leaving Rin's apartment for the morning. "Oto-san, it's me."

"Come in, Sesshomaru. You did not return home last night," Toga smirked questionably. "What has kept you, son?"

Sesshomaru stopped in front of Toga's desk as he sat and stretched out his left arm, revealing his wrist. "Is there something wrong with this chip device?"

Toga stood from his seat and reached to grasp Sesshomaru's arm, inspecting it. He pressed the ulnar side and analyzed the risen area questionably. "No, I have heard no reports of any errors or malfunctions as of recent. Is something the matter?"

Sesshomaru retreated his arm, gazing at the site again for himself. "There must have been some sort of glitch. Rin stated that she saw me... not as a human man. At least for a moment yesterday."

"That is not possible," Toga asserted and paused. "We will take you over to the lab. I will have it reconfigured. Do not fret-," Toga gazed on at his son as he did not look convinced. "What else concerns you, Sesshomaru?"

"It's Rin... she had this 'dream' about me but, there is something more she is not telling."

"A dream?"

Sesshomaru paused reflectively and spoke, "Oto-san, is it possible that humans can have the ability to predict the future or the past?"

Toga stiffened and widened his eyes. "Not in the ways that are credible son. Do you believe that Rin possesses this ability. If so, I would advise that you remain near her. See that it is not a mere coincidence?"

"Certainly, Oto-san. Certainly."

AN: Hmm... what is happening now?

I keep telling myself that this is just the beginning. I love to see it all unravel.

Until next time ...
