Persephone POV

Just before dinner, I meet up with the other members needed for the meeting. The students who were only involved by getting detention give us their written perspective of each encounter, then go to the Great Hall for dinner with the teachers that aren't Head of Houses.

At exactly six o' clock, Hagrid leads Amelia Bones and Rufus Scrimgeour through the front doors of Hogwarts. Dumbledore leads the way into the conference room, followed by the House Heads, the two head students and various prefects. The rest of us file in behind them, putting the adults at one end of the table and students at the other. Susan Bones goes to her aunt, telling her about the classes she's enjoying so far this semester, and about the invitation to the Black family Christmas Ball.

Everyone sits down to eat, discussing everything that happened. The exact details of some of the punishments are so horrific, Rufus starts cursing out the Minister and Umbridge's names, stopped by a silencing charm. As dinner progresses, I notice Amelia hesitate before pulling out a parchment roll from her bag. She debates things for a minute, then hands the paper to Harry.

The air is palpable with his anger, magic sparks off his body. Without a word, Harry hands the paper to Professor McGonagall. As she reads through, her eyes blaze with a barely contained fury, but her face remains passive. Harry looks directly to Regulus and I, hissing out, "Umbridge ordered the dementors on us. Wait, grab her!"

The words haven't fully left his lips when I hop to my feet. I feel an arm gently wrap around my waist, while someone else grabs my wand from my hands. I don't struggle, knowing exactly who has stopped me.

" Not yet, Love. We'll pay her a visit in Azkaban after graduation," Regulus whispers in my ear. Raising his voice, he switches to English. "I would apologize for her reaction, but I completely agree with her. Is there anything else about the trial we should discuss, before Korre runs off to kill the hag."

Madame Bones answers, "A few of you will need to speak at her trial, but after that day, you lot will never have to see Dolores Umbridge again."

The prefects nod, gathering together to decide who will testify. Sam suggests having one male and one female prefect from each house, regardless of year level. After deciding, a majority of the students filter out.

Jackson and Susan will be Hufflepuff's representatives, while Sam and fifth year Anthony Goldstein stand for Ravenclaw. Since Hermione and Ron will be going to the trial anyway, they will represent Gryffindor, while Daphne Greengrass and Blaise Zambini represent Slytherin. Colin, Dennis, Luna, Draco and Pansy, as members of the House of Sanctuary, could be considered biased, therefore will only testify about the photos and interview transcripts. Regulus, Harry and I will be the most involved witnesses, having been victims of multiple crimes.

"The hearing will be on December first at eleven. I'll send a group of Aurors to assist in transport," Rufus says. Turning to the Professors, he continues, "Will any of the professors be going?"

"No-" Dumbledore starts, before being cut off by the Four House Heads.

"I'll be joining you," McGonagall says.

"I will as well," Snape adds. "The Gryffindor and Slytherin students were the most targeted, so it is impartative we go."

"Filius and I will stay to watch over your houses," Professor Sprout promises, followed by the half-goblin's nod.

"Is all of this really necessary? Classes will have to be cancelled if students and professors are going to be gone," Dumbledore tries to argue, but is surprisingly cut off by Harry.

"You didn't feel the need to cancel classes while students were petrified in my second year, by a basilisk no less. You didn't cancel when a supposed mass murderer kept breaking into Hogwarts. After Myrtle's death in 1942 or Cedric's death last year would have been a good time, too." Not giving him a chance to answer, Harry continues, "You've been endangering students for decades, so don't try stepping in to fix things now."

Dumbledore waits for his fellow professors to defend him, but is met by silence. Well, silence from the teachers. Rufus and Amelia are starting to question him about the mentioned incidents. Giving a whimsical smile, Luna passes a folder to the Auror leaders. I don't have to look to know, it's written accounts of everything happening in Hogwarts since 1991, described by many students in great detail, and accompanied by even more photogenic evidence. Hopefully, pensieve photos can be counted as evidence.

"We'll review these at a later date, Miss Lovegood, but your help is greatly appreciated," Rufus assures the tiny blonde. She smiles at him, before grabbing the Creevey boys and heading to her dorm. The other students and I take that as our que to leave, bidding the adults goodbye.

November 11, 1995

8:30pm

Regulus, Harry and I have finally managed to steal Tom's old Hogwarts files, with the help of Nixie.

"Nixie hears Missy Sef and Master Reg need to learn about Dark Lord. Nixie goes to Headmaster Beardy's office and gets this," the little house elf says, handing the slightly large folder to me. "Nixie also found bottles with the names, but there was too many to grab."

So Dumbledore has been stockpiling information about Voldemort, but not doing anything to stop him? What is the Headmaster planning?

"Thank you, Nixie. This will be extremely helpful," Regulus tells her, sending her back to the kitchen. "We're sneaking into his office, aren't we?" I nod an affirmative. Now to plan the distraction.

10:15pm

Regulus and I meet up with Harry, Snape and Professor McGonagall outside the Headmaster's office. The two professors transfigured and released something into the woods about an hour ago, causing Hagrid to request help tracking and stopping it. With no defense teacher to pawn the task off to, Dumbledore had to go out himself to search the forest, giving us all night to view the memories he collected. Quickly entering, the two professors cast sleeping spells on the portraits.

Hours pass as the five of us cast ourselves through the vials related to Tom Riddle. Most of the information we've viewed so far are things we knew or suspected already, such as the Gaunt family's treatment of both his parents and the hostile attitude towards the world. We do learn that after graduating Hogwarts, he worked at Borgin and Burkes for a while before disappearing. A woman came in just a few weeks before his disappearance, claiming to own heirlooms from the Hogwarts Founders: Hufflepuff's Chalice and Slytherin's Locket.

Since we know Tom got possession of the Locket, it's safe to assume he had the cup, as well. The only known relic Rowena had was her diadem, but no one has seen it since Helena ran away. With how charismatic Tom is, he could have easily charmed it out of the lonely ghost. After exiting the pensieve, the group all reaches the same conclusions I did.

"I will speak to Helena," McGonagall offers. "Hopefully, she'll be willing to speak with me about it. She has always been sensitive about the Tiara." That's probably our best course of action.

"If we are correct about the tiara and cup being horcruxes, that only leaves two," Snape says, gesturing everyone out of the Headmaster's office, and removing the sleep charm.

Third Point of View

December 1, 1995

A large group of students stand at the Hogwarts gates with Professors McGonagall, Snape and Hagrid, waiting on their escort's arrival. It's a quarter after eight, when a short series of pops sound.

A large black man approaches the professors.

"Severus, Minerva, it's good to see you well," he says. "I brought ten Aurors, myself included. If you'll pair everyone off, we can leave whenever you are all ready."

Snape assigns an auror to any unlicensed students, and gives coordinates to those who have passed their apparation test.

The seventh years pop away, leaving the younger students in capable hands. As each person pops into the guest entrance area, they check in with the security wizard and wait. The last pair to arrive are Snape and Harry, who both ignore the slowly growing crowd, leading the way to the courtroom.

The elevator down to the tenth level is crowded, but not a word of complaint is uttered, too focused on getting justice for the children wronged at Hogwarts. Rufus meets the group outside the courtroom, directing them to an empty section of the stands. In a move that had to be intentional: Sam and Jack sit in front of the group, Regulus and Persephone behind and the professors on either side of the younger students, blocking them from any possible danger.

At exactly nine am, Dolores Umbridge is chained to the accused's chair. Amelia and Fudge both stepped down as mediator, being personally invested in the case. Kingsley Shacklebolt is running the trial in their place.

"Dolores Umbridge, you are accused of two hundred and seventy-two accounts of assault on a minor, one hundred and three counts of assault on a wizarding student over seventeen, and four counts of attempted murder via magical creature. How do you plea?" No one hears her claim innocence over the roar of outrage from the severity of her crimes.

The box of photos is being curculated through the members of the Wizengamot, giving them a chance to view the damage she's caused. Every members face displays horror and disgust. After giving a flimsy defense, Umbridge is found guilty of the three hundred seventy five assault charges. "Moving on to the four attempted murder charges. On July twelfth of this year, a small group of dementors attacked Lord Harry Potter, Lady Persephone Slytherin and their parental figures the two Lords Lupin-Black. Here is the order, signed by Madame Umbridge during her time as undersecretary, for the dementors to administer the Kiss to Lord Potter and his companions. Do you have any words of defense?" Umbridge says nothing, knowing her fate is sealed. "The court will take a ten minute recess to discuss her sentencing. Guards, return her to the holding cell please."

Less than five minutes later, the verdict is read. Guilty on all accounts. Each minor assault charge carries an automatic ten years in Azkaban and the regular assaults five years a piece. "Considering the extent of the crimes and the subsequent life sentences, you will be given the dementor's kiss before being pushed through the Death Veil."
