Episode 138: Hocus Pokemon
Mew and her friends continue to make their way to Blackthorn City, where Mew's eighth and final gym battle awaits. Right now, their next part of their adventure has taken them to the woods.
"Sure have been in these mountains a long time," Misty says.
"Yeah, you're right," Brock says.
Soon, the group spots something, and looks to see a Murkrow flying towards them.
"It's a Murkrow," Jen says.
The Murkrow squawks at them.
"This Murkrow's trying to tell us something," Brock says.
"This Murkrow is saying that I've found a Pikachu," Mew says.
Suddenly, someone calls out, "Hey!
Everyone looks and sees a woman with pink hair wearing a witch hat and cape running up to them.
"A cute little Pikachu! This is so, totally cool! I finally found a Pikachu!" The woman happily says.
The group braces for an impact as the woman approaches, thinking she'll crash into them, but she stops, picks up and hugs Pikachu.
"Oh, you're such a sweet little baby," The woman says.
The group of friends look in bafflement as the woman's Murkrow squawks.
Misty then asks, "Uh, excuse us, but…"
"Who are you?" Mew questions.
The woman chuckles and happily says, "Oh, how rude. Sorry. Name's Lily. I'm a Pokemon magician."
"Pokemon magician?" The group replies, confused.
The group and Lily watch as Murkrow is playing with the other Pokemon.
"I'm so glad I found this Pikachu. I'm preparing a new trick for my magic show and I need a Pikachu's Thunderbolt. But I'm sure you know how hard it is to find a Pikachu when you need one," Lily says.
Everyone is still a bit perplexed and baffled.
"Well, you can imagine how this gets me to the end of my rope, so I decided to try a Pikachu catching magic spell, but, in order to do that, you need a lock of hair from the mane of a Raichu. But since they're also so very hard to find, I was at my wit's end," Lily explains.
Mew chuckles, "Um uh, Lily?"
Lily quickly stops talking.
"How about we start by introducing ourselves, I'm Mew," Mew says.
"I'm Tomo," Tomo says.
"I'm Jen says,"
"And I'm Molly," Molly happily says.
Then Brock gets in front of Lily, "Well, my caped beauty, they call me Brock. It appears that one of those magic tricks of yours went somewhat array. Yeah. You now have me under your spell."
Misty quickly shoves Brock aside, "Uh, hi. I'm Misty. Would you, please show me some of your magic? Please?"
"Of course, but why?" Lily happily says.
"Since I was little, I always wanted to be a Pokemon magician. I couldn't wait to go to every magic show as soon as it came to town," Misty happily says.
"Well, how could I possibly say no to that?" Lily says and winks, "Sure. Just give me a sec."
Lily opens and starts to search through her bag, "See, Pokémon magic is also a science as well. It gets its power from things involving Pokémon."
"Woah. That's neat," Tomo says.
"So I guess you could say you're both a scientist and a magician," Misty says.
Brock is also impressed, "Wow. But as interesting as all this sounds, I don't think I've actually met a Pokemon magician before."
"Well, I'm afraid it's a dying art so that doesn't surprise me one bit," Lila says, and soon pulls out a book, "Now, let's take a look in here, shall we?" and opens the book.
Some of the gang see strange words on the pages.
"Huh? I've never seen words like that before. What language is it?" Mew asks.
"Well, it looks to me like it's some kind of ancient script," Brock says.
"This book's been in my family for centuries and passed down from generation to generation," Lila says.
"No wonder I can't read it," Jen says.
Then Misty asks, "So, Lily, that book tells you how to perform Pokemon magic?"
"Yep, that's right," Lily says and finds the right spell, "Ah! Here we are! Now, Misty, how would you like to have softer and smoother skin?"
"Wow! Softer and smoother skin? Yeah! Awesome! I would just love that!" Misty says, eagerly.
Soon, Lily gets to work and has a graduated cylinder boiling on a burner before putting in the necessary ingredients for the spell, "Earth dug up by a Dugtrio, hair from a Flaffy's neck, and a pinch of dried scales from a Magikarp."
Smoke starts swirling from the cylinder
Lily turns to Misty, "Almost done. You ready?"
"Wow, am I ever! Using real Pokemon magic, to give me a beautiful complexion!" Misty shouts excited.
"Let's go, Dugtrio! Flaffy, Flaffy, Dugtrio! Make your magic, now, let's go! Now Magikarp, do your part!" Lily says, and tosses the last ingredient into the brew.
Soon, turning the smoke black and causing something to drop from above.
"Uh, what was that?" Mew asks.
It's shown that three Spinarak dropped down at Misty's feet.
Suddenly, the Spinarak fired a String Shot at Misty's face.
Misty cries out, "Not again!"
"Are you okay?" Mew asks.
Brock soon understands, "Now I get it! The spell is making the Spinarak spin their webs! Cool!"
"Bingo! And the type of silk that they're spinning is just brilliant for Misty's skin," Lily says.
Soon, the smoke clears to reveal Misty being wrapped up in silk like a bug caught in a spider web.
"Misty, are you okay?" Molly asks.
"I'm fine, but I wish this spell doesn't involve myself being wrapped in a Spinarak's web" Misty says.
"First having your face covered in Web from the Ninja School, and now this," Mew replies.
A bit later, after Misty was freed from her silk bondage.
"There's magic that lets you read a Pokémon's mind?" Mew asks.
"Eevee?" (Really?) Eevee asks
"Pikachu?" (Is that true?) Pikachu asks.
"Right. But it's unfortunately a spell that no one's ever been able to cast," Lily says. "There's always been one step missing, the final step which involves using a Pikachu's Thunderbolt."
"Imagine how much better Pokemon and humans would get along if that spell were to happen," Brock says, "Just like how Tomo and Mew can understand and speak to Pokemon."
"We'll help you out, Lily. Just think, with your spell, and my Pikachu, we could make it actually work," Lily says.
"Pika!" (Sure could!) Pikacu says.
"How great! Thanks!" Lily says.
Then she looks into her book, "Let's see. I have Shuckle's secret cure, powdered Stantler horns, yogurt that's been made from a Miltank's milk, a flower petal marked with the kiss of a Jynx, but that's as far as I've gotten."
"That's a lot of stuff," Misty says.
Then Molly asks, "What else do you need?"
"I need to get some Stun Spore from a Parasect," Lily says.
Murkrow comes down and reports it found one.
"What? You found a Parasect?" Lily asks.
Murkrow confirms.
"Great! Let's go get it!" Tomo says.
Luckily, they're able to find a Parasect right away.
"Well, that Parasect really looks strong and healthy," Brock says.
"Yes, I'm certain we'll get some excellent Stun Spore from it," Lily says.
"Yeah, but, how do you get Stun Spore from a Parasect in the first place?" Misty asks.
"Easy," Mew says.
Mew then walks out and walks to the Parasect.
Then Mew calls out, "Excuse me, Parasect."
The Parasect soon stops and turns to Mew.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but do you mind if you let out your Stun Spore? A friend of mine needs your Stun Spore," Mew asks.
Parasect thinks for a minute. Then nods.
Mew then moves out of the way, "Alright, you can let it out now."
Parasect then uses Stun Spore.
Lily happily cheers, "Wow! That's amazing! Mew really can communicate with Pokemon. And what's more, that's the Stun Spore! Great!"
Lily gets out a vacuum cleaner and sucks up the Stun Spore.
Mew turns to Parascent, "Okay, we got it."
Parasect stops using the attack.
"Thank you," Mew says.
Parascent then replies 'You're Welcome' and walks away.
Suddenly, two giant hands reach down and snatch Pikachu and Eevee, hauling them up into the air.
"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew cries out.
They turn to see Team Rocket in their hot air balloon and carry Pikachu and Eevee to the basket. They laugh in wicked triumph.
"Team Rocket?!" Misty, Brock, and Tomo exclaim.
"Give Pikachu and Eevee back!" Mew shouts.
Jessie and James begin to perform the motto.
Jessie:
Prepare for trouble, just because…
James:
Meowth's got Pikachu and Eevee by the paws!
But the motto is interrupted by Lilly's scream, "Meowth! Sooooo cute!"
"Meowth, Eevee, and Pikachu are confused by Lily's comment
"This is too perfect! Finding a cute little Meowth in the forest!" Lily happily says.
Everyone is confused by it.
Then Lilu says, "Now, dear Meowth, I need the dirt from one of your claws." and calls out, "Murkrow, go and get it!"
Murkrow flies up and begins flapping around and pecking James and Jessie's faces.
"Not me, you bird brain!" James cries out.
"I may be catty but I'm not Meowth!" Jessie panics.
Then Murkrow pecks Meowth's face.
Meowth screams, "Get your paws off my claws!"
Lily cheers, "You can do it! You can do it! Grab that dirt and get down to it! Go, Murkrow! Go, Murkrow! Go!
Murkrow flaps about blindly and suddenly finds its beak buried into the fabric of Team Rocket's balloon. The balloon springs a leak, causing Pikachu and Eevee to fall into Mew's arms.
"Are you both okay?" Mew asks.
Pikachu and Eevee reply in their own voices, "We're okay."
"No!" Team Rocket cries oti.
Murkrow flies after the balloon as it crash lands in the far side of the forest.
"Oh no! That Meowth! I've been waiting so long!" Lily cries out as she grabs her bag and skedaddles.
"Lily!" The group cries out.
"Come on, we better follow her," Mew says.
Soon enough, Team Rocket have found themselves precariously perched on the thin end of a cliff, very carefully and very quietly trying to inch their way back to more stable ground
"Now hear dis! Just one misstepped step and we're mincemeat!" Meowth cries out.
And keep quiet! If one of us yells too loud, this thing could collapse!" James yells.
"Thanks, James, your earsplitting warning was a life saver," Jessie says.
"Wobbu." (Quiet.) Wobbuffet adds, out of the ball.
Realizing Wobbuffet is out, Jessie screams at it, "Why is it you always choose to appear at the most inopportune time!"
Soon, the cliff starts to collapse, causing all of them to panic.
"Let's all just remain calm!" Jessie panics.
"If I never see you guys again, just know that I love you!" James says.
"Wow, talk about losing your cool," Meowth says.
"Wobuuuuufet!" (Some ooooooone help!) Wobbuffet cries out.
Soon, Lily's Murkrow soon shows up.
'Go away! Go away!" James panics.
Meowth recognizes it, "It's dat Moikrow!"
Soon, Mew and the others show up.
"Look at those guys!" Tomo says.
"Wow! Looks like, that cliff is gonna collapse!" Jen says.
"Yeah. I think we better approach this nice and easy," Brock says.
But before anyone can do anything, Lily comes running, calling out, "Yoo-hoo! Meowth!"
The group of friends cry out, "Wait! Lily, no!"
"I knew I'd find you, Meowth!" Lily says.
Team Rocket tries to warn her away. Stay away!
But Lily sets about getting dirt from one of Meowth's claws, "A little dirt." Then puts the dirt in her bag, "There we go. Thanks, you cute, little Meowth. This is great! Goodbye!"
Lily and her Murkrow quickly depart, with one step causing the rest of the cliff to fall.
Team Rocket's falling down again!" Team Rocker cries out.
Wobbuffet cries out, "Wobbu!" (And hard!)
The group covers their eyes to hear the crashing sounds.
"Um, they'll be okay, right?" Molly asks, worried.
"They usually do," Mew points out.
Sometime later, the group returns to the woods.
Lily says, "I've got the Stun Spore from Parasect and the dirt from Meowth's claw. Great!"
"So, do you need anything else?" Brock asks.
"Yes, there's only one item remaining and that's the tears from an Aipom," Lily says.
"Tears from an Aipom?" Misty says, confused.
"And once you have that, you'll do your magic and be able to read a Pokémon's mind, right?" Mew asks.
"That's right!" Lily happily says.
"So, let's go find an Aipom," Mew says.
Tomo calls out, "Hey, Aipom! Where are you?!"
"Come out now!" Jen calls out.
"You don't honestly think an Aipom's just gonna come waltzing out…" Misty says.
But is interrupted as an Aipom DOES come out.
"An Aipom!" Mew says.
Lily happily says, "I can't believe it! Give me some tears, now! Please!" but frightens Aipom by mistake.
Frightened, the wild Aipom scurries away, prompting our heroes to go after it
"Wait! You don't understand, Aipom!" Lily calls out and chases after it.
Mew and the others chase after them as well.
Soon, Team Rocket shows up again.
"Well, well. So, Murkrow's manic master's a magician, huh?" Jessie says.
"If dey get dat spell woiking, dey'll be able to understand anyting a Pokémon's thinking or feeling!" Meowth says.
"You know, just thinking out loud here, but if we got a hold of that spell, we could use it in all sorts of Pokemon based schemes!" James says.
"You mean the chance to become ridiculously rich has finally come?" Jessie questions.
And Meowth says, "We can pay off dat boatload of bills and still have tons of pazoozas left over for thrills!"
"So, is it yay or nay?" Jessie questions.
James and Meowth answer, "Yay!"
Even Wobbuffet votes, "Wobbuffet!" (Yay, I say!)
Meanwhile, the group keeps up the chase.
"Wait, Aipom!" Mew calls out.
"Come back!" Molly calls out.
"Guys, if we split up, we can surround Aipom," Brock says.
"Right. Brock. Jen. Molly. We'll go this way," Lily says.
"Misty, Tomo, we'll go that way," Mew says.
"Okay, got it," Misty says.
"Right," Tomo says.
Everyone soon splits up to track down and surround the Aipom, while it lands and finds no trace of the group before sighing with relief that it lost them and proceeds to sit down as Brock, Jen, Molly, and Lily and their team pop up from behind a bush.
"Good. Looks like Aipom's got its guard down," Brock says.
"Are you ready, guys?" Lily asks.
"Right," Brock says.
"We're ready," Jen says.
"Okay," Molly says.
Right on cue, Mew, Tomo, and Misty and their team pop up as well.
"Guys, ready?" Misty asks.
"Yep," Mew answers.
"Ready," Tomo says.
The three shout, ": Let's go!
But before anyone can grab the Aipom, it gets snatched up in a net, causing two groups to run into each other's heads before looking up as Team Rocket laughs in triumph once more.
"You again?!" Mew exclaims.
Aipom screams, "Aipom!" (Help me!)
"Aipom!" Lily cries out.
Team Rocket then snatches Lily's bag.
Lily calls out, "Hey! Give that back!"
And Team Rocket begins their motto.
Jessie:
Oh, poor little witch. Prepare for trouble.
James:
And now, make it double.
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation!
And Jessie winks.
James:
To unite all people within our nation!
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie:
Jessie!
James:
James!
Jessie:
Team Rocket magically blasts off at the speed of light!
James:
The crystal ball says surrender now or prepare to fight!
Meowth:
Dat's right!
"What do you want?!" Brock demands.
"Give us back that Aipom and Lily's bag!" Misty shouts.
"Right now!" Jen shouts.
"You must be joking," Jessie says.
"How would we ever cast that spell if we gave all the goodies back?" James replies.
"What'd you say?!" Mew exclaims.
Lily turns to her Murkrow, "Murkrow, go and get my bag back. Hurry."
Murkrow takes off.
"Now here's da punch line!" Meowth says.
With the press of a button, the mechanical arm nails Murkrow and sends it falling.
Oh no! My Murkrow!" Lily cries out.
Brock catches it, "Gotcha!"
Team Rocket flies away.
"A little jab will do ya!" Meowth says with a chuckle.
Lily falls to her knees, upset, "Those crooks got away with my bag and that poor Aipom!"
"Not for long. When I'm finished with them, all they're gonna have is a busted balloon," Mew angrily says.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket is looking through the ill-gotten gains.
"It's all junk!" Meowth says and look through the stuff, "Water from Remoraid's Water Gun, an essence of Gloom, nectar and various iron fragments containing different Magnemite powers?! Nuddin!"
"This book is brimming with bonk. What are these wacky letters?" Jessie says, annoyed.
Reading the book, James says, "Actually, it's text from ancient Pokémonia from roughly the age of the third king."
"You mean you can actually read this rubbish?" Jessie asks.
"When I was a little shaver, I used to spend endless hours at my local library," James says.
"You? Really?" Jessie asks.
"I never understood too much but I adored all the little pictures," James says.
"Great, that's helpful," Jessie says, annoyed, "But we still need those Aipom tears if we're going to complete that mind-reading Pokemon spell and get rich!" then gets up.
"Oh, but, Jessie," James says.
Jessie then picks up the Aipom, "Now, then, let's see if we can't create a little crying." And prepares to punch Aipom in the face, "Here you go."
James stops her in time, "Stop it!"
"What's your problem?" Jessie ask.
James shows the book and says, "Just take a look at our ancient book."
"I told you, I can probably read tea leaves easier than this!" Jessie says, annoyed.
"Sorry," James apologizes. Then says, "But it says right here, tears achieved through violence won't work."
"Den dis calls for a strategy of a different color. Let's tink," Meowth says.
They soon do so.
Then they have an idea, "That's it!"
Aipom is soon baffled as James comes out on a stage.
Then he begins to tell jokes, "Say, you know, a funny thing happened to me on the way here tonight. A woman walks up to me on the street and asks "Pardon me, is that your Wartortle? Looks mighty strong. How come?" And I say because of the iron in its diet!" He laughs, "What a knee slapper! I'm crying! Get it?"
But the Aipom is more perplexed than anything, "Aipom." (I don't.)
"Oh, a wise guy," James says, annoyed. Then says, Well, try this! When's Mr. Mime not a Pokemon? When it's a pool shot! And what's Tangela's favorite song? Come Fry With Me!" And laughs hysterically, "Oh, I can't breath! I can't breathe!"
But Aipom wasn't laughing, to James' shock.
"Aipom won't even crack a smile!" James says in defeat.
"Cause you're about as funny as a sqoitless Sqoitle!" Meowth comments.
Then says, What we need here is a little emotion! Someting dat's gonna tear at dat Aipom's itty-bitty heartstrings!"
Soon, James and Aipom see what Meowth meant as he puts on a puppet show.
Meowth acts as the mother and child, "Ah, my dear, sweet mudder! At long last, I gaze upon your sweet, smiling face! Hug me, my son! My son!" Then gets teary-eyed, "And from that moment on, mommy and sonny boy, lived together, happily ever after. What a beautiful story!"
James is already in tears, "Sure was! There isn't a dry eye in the house!"
But Aipom just yawns, clearly bored.
"So?" Meowth questions.
But Jessie comes in, "You fools! The fact is you'll never jerk any tears from it using those cliché storylines and overblown dramatics! What's needed is style, grace, talent, acting! Let a theater professional work her magic!"
And with that, Wobbuffet pulls in a nighttime village background as Meowth and James watch along with the Aipom.
Meanwhile, Mew and the others are still trying to find Aipom. So far, nothing.
"Nothing! Not a trace of Team Rocket!" Mew says.
"Nothing either," Tomo says.
Soon, Murkrow flies overhead.
"Hold on. It looks like Murkrow may have spotted them," Lily says.
"Then let's go!" Mew says.
Meanwhile, Jessie's play continues, "Oh, sweet prince, if I cannot be your princess, then I fear my end is near." She soon drops to her knees, "Farewell, my sweet prince. Farewell."
And Jessie collapses as rice drops down to simulate snow.
Jessie continues, Oh, the pain. The agony of being separated by the prince sunk the beautiful princess Jessie deep into despair, whilst her life slipped away in frigid solitude as the snowflakes of winter fell upon her."
"Wobbuffet," (Encore please!) Wobbuffet says.
In thoughts, Jessie sighs, "The sweet symphony that is the crowd's applause. And I defy any man, woman or Pokemon to quell the fountain of emotion and tears that must follow performances such as this."
But when she opens one eye, she finds Aipom asleep.
"What are you doing?!" Jessie screams in anger, and picks Aipom up, "I'll put you to sleep!" and prepares to punch it in the face.
James quickly intervenes, "Stop Stop!"
"No tears for fears, remember?" Meowth cries out.
Soon, Mew and the others show up.
"Party's over, Team Rocket!" Mew says.
Team Rocket soon notices them.
"The twerps!" Jessie notices.
"Now let go of that Aipom!" Misty says.
"And hand over Lily's bag while you're at it!" Brock says.
"Or you'll be in trouble," Tomo says.
"That bag doesn't mean a thing to you, but it's very important to me!" Lily says.
"Ha! You're wrong! The bag means the world to us!" Jessie says.
"That's right!" James agrees.
Then Meowth says, "Dat Aipom plus da bag adds up to big bucks!"
Jessie calls out her Pokemon, "Now, go, Arbok!" and Arbok comes out.
Then Jessie calls out, "Arbok, Poison Sting attack!
"It's up to you now, Murkrow!" Lily says.
Murkrow flies in.
Lily calls out, "Icy Wind attack!"
The attack nails Arbok and sends it into the basket of the balloon.
"No, Arbok!" Jessie cries out.
"Go, Pikachu!" Mew calls out.
Pikachu leaps into action.
James throws his Pokeball, "Come on out, Weezing!"
Weezing comes out.
James calls out, "Sludge attack, go!"
Weezing fires the attack.
Mew calls out, "Pikachu, Thunderbolt attack, let's go!"
Pikachu's attack fires and struggles against the Sludge attack while Misty and Brock go after Aipom.
"Aipom!" Misty says.
"Are you okay?" Brock asks.
However, after Brock frees it, it runs away.
"Hey, wait!" Brock calls out.
Misty calls out, "Aipom!"
Meanwhile, Weezing and Pikachu struggle against each other.
"Hang tough, Pikachu!" Mew calls out.
"Go, Weezing, go!" James calls out.
Suddenly, Weezing runs out of Sludge.
Meowth panics, "It's run out of Sludge!"
Lily then calls out, "Murkrow, go! Use Swift attack, now!"
Murkrow uses Swift Attack, nailing Weezing and sending it right into Team Rocket.
"Get away! Get away!" Team Rocket cries out.
Aipom watches as Team Rocket goes flying into their balloon basket.
"Let's go, Pikachu! Thunder attack, now!" Mew calls out.
Piakchu launches the attack and it lands, destroying the balloon and sending Team Rocket flying.
Team Rocket cries out, "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"
"Wobbu Wo"! (We'll be back!) Wobbuffet cries out.
"Alright!" Mew cheers.
Even Pikachu and Eevee are happy.
Up on the ledge, Aipom dies laughing over what transpired until it starts crying.
Brock notices, "Hey, look!"
"It's Aipom's tears!" Lily says.
"Quick!" Mew says, and grabs the bottle from Lily's bag.
Mew then rushes over, "Aipom, wait!"
However, Mew trips and the bottle goes flying.
"Oh, no!" Tomo and Jen cry out.
Pikachu leaps and grabs the bottle and catches the tear just in time.
"Pika! ("Got it!) Pikachu says.
Everyone cheers, "Yeah!"
"Wow! That was so great! Pikachu, thank you!" Lily happily says.
Mew gets up, "Great job, Pikachu.
Later, Lily begins mixing the potion, "Shuckle's secret cure, and the powdered horn of a Stantler. Some yogurt made from the milk of a Miltank, and a flower marked with the kiss of a Jynx. Parasect's Stun Spore and the dirt from Meowth's claw. And last, but not least, an Aipom's tear," and drops the tear in, "There we go!
Smoke soon starts to swirl.
Lily turns to the group, "Now, then. Who'll be the first volunteer?"
"Can I go it?" Mew asks.
"Alright, Mew," Lily says, "Remember, you have to finish it off with Pikachu's Thunderbolt."
"Right," Mew says.
Pika!" (Let's go!) Pikachu says.
Lily then casts the magic, "Shuckle shuck, run amok! Stantler's horn and all the rest, finish it off with Pikachu's best!" and winks.
"Now! Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Mew calls out.
Pikachu zaps the attack and lands in the beaker, yellow smoke begins to surround Mew.
"Well I guess I am feeling a little bit like I'm getting inside a Pokemon's mind," Mew replies.
But soon, smoke engulfs her completely and everyone watches nervously until they see the result.
Lily cries out, "Oh no!"
In a few moments, the smoke clears.
"Ugh...what happened?" Mew replies.
"Pika!" (What the?!) Pikachu exclaims.
"Eevee?!" (Oh my gosh!) EEvee exclaims.
Mew slowly opens her eyes, and notices, "Pikachu? Eevee?" Then looks up to the others, "How'd you guys get so big?"
"Um, you're a…" Misty panics.
"Uh…" Jen replies.
"Uh oh," Tomo says.
"Oh my," Molly says.
"Is that really you, Mew?" Brock asks.
Confused, Mew asks, "What? Why're you guys looking at me like I've got two heads or something?"
Misty squats down and says, "No, there's just one," Then brings out a mirror, "But look.
Misty then shows Mew her reflection. When Mew sees herself in the mirror, she sees a shocking sight.
Mew screams, "What?! What the?! I'm… I'm a PIKACHU!" and begins to panic.
"Strange, that's not how it's supposed to happen," Lily says.
She checks her spell book and notices she has a slight problem, "No way!"
"What?! What is it, Lily?" Brock asks.
"Brock, it's the spell. It looks like it continues on to the next page," Lily says.
"And?!" Brock asks.
It's revealed that the page and the page after it are all dirty and unreadable.
"But the next page is too smudged and I can't read it!" Lily cries out, "Oh no, what have I done?!"
"Lily, will Mew be a permanent Pikachu?" Misty asks, worried.
Lily calms down a little, "No, don't be silly. Mew will be back to normal just as soon as the spell wears off."
Mew sighs in relief, "In that case, this is actually amazing!" and begins to get excited, "My name is Pikachu! I can talk to Pokemon and have been raised by Pokemon! And now I am a Pokemon!"
She then walks to the others, "Come on everyone, let's go play!
Soon, Mew, and the other Pokemon begin to play.
"Gee. Maybe the spell worked after all," Misty says.
"I guess so," Jen says.
"Yeah. Mew is definitely inside the mind of a Pikachu," Brock says.
"Yeah. I say Mew is going to have a Pika Time!" Tomo says.
And with that, everyone begins laughing.
Well, who knows if Mew, having become a Pikachu, allows her to learn to read the mind of a Pokemon. One thing for sure, this will be one experience Mew will never forget.
