Chapter 2: An Eclipse Past

18 years in the past

New World: Wano

"WORORORORO, that's it, Oden give us a good show."

It was a sad day for the people of Wano as they watched a legend dying Infront of their eyes. The old shogun who had left his country to follow his dreams with the Whitebeard Pirates, was being executed in a pot of fire.

He had just saved the lives of his followers, his 9 retainers, who were supposed to be executed along with him. The nine retainers could now be seen running away from the scene. One person in particular had a child on his back.

"Don't worry Jax Sama" He said to the child "We promise we will protect you with our lives""!

The rest of the scabbards had tears behind their eyes as they heard their masters' dying words.

"My samurai retainers, Toki, Momonosuke, Jax, Hyori." Oden breathed out raggedly as a smile formed on his face. Getting into his famous pose with hands stretched out as the music quickened. "ODEN WOULDN'T BE ODEN..."

Flames burning his body red, Kaido's fat face watching in anticipation as his men's guns fired. Hitting him straight in the head the sound of music could be heard as the rest of his body started its decent into the pot of fire. Tears filling the eyes of the crowd as they started.

"...IF IT WASN'T BOILED"

The sound of music quickening as a once great man, Oden's eyes closed. A smile still planted on his face like it glued to it.

The death of Oden Kozuki would be engraved into the crowd's minds forever. Unknown to them, the great shogun's death would be the start of a horrible era for them.

Meanwhile the rest of the samurai retainers of Oden where desperately running back to their master's house where Oden's wife and the rest of his children where staying.

However, the shadow of a dragon could be seen covering them as they looked up to see a giant big dragon.

As if stating that they where not worth his time, it flew past them over to their destination.

"OH NO, Quick we must get there before Kaido we simply cannot afford to fail." One of the retainers said as they continued to rush to the house.

Suddenly a burst of conqueror's Haki stopped their tracks. It was faint but they are new that it was held back by a lot. Chills went down the spin of the retainers as the Kozuki Jax fell unconscious. The Haki was not nearly as good as Kaido's but somehow, they all knew that it was stronger than his and barely held back.

Looking back, they saw a tall, cloaked thing. They didn't know what it was exactly. The person was pure darkness. It was a tall black figure from head to toe with the only thing humane was his blood shot red eyes poking from the upper half of the body.

"Who... What are you?" A large oversized yellow cat asked.

"Who I am doesn't matter." It responded Now if you would be so nice as to hand that boy over.

"What you're going to do to him?"

"Kill him." He answered plainly without remorse of wanting to kill a young child.

The retainers didn't know what to do. They knew they couldn't kill this thing. Every inch of they body was telling them to run and to run far.

"Who are you and why do you want Jax Sama?" As he asked the question, two people looked at each other and nodded.

"My name is Imu. I can tell that this boy's future along with my ancestor will become a noticeably big threat to me in the future. Now are you going to hand the boy over or will I have to cause some unfortunate casualties."

Quickly the long red-haired man of the group got out his scroll and an oversized paintbrush and at the same time a black-haired man with what looked like a big shuriken behind his back got out small bags and threw them onto the floor. As soon as it hit the ground, a cloud of smoke erupted from it blocking Imu's vision from them.

"Quick go" a whispered rang inside the smoke. A bunch of shuriken, along with some weird dogs that looked like it came out of drawing, quickly headed towards Imu.

On the other side of the smoke, seven figures ran out of the smoke towards the house, leaving behind two of their fellow retainers.

"Good luck," the man with a red (on one side) and a stripped (on the other side) kimono thought as he carried the child, tears streaming down his face.

"Let's fight till the very end Kanjuro" stated the man with the big shuriken on his back.

The man known revealed to be Kanjuro chucked "hahahaha HAHAAHAA."

The ninja next to him looked at him confused. "Why are you laughing?"

"I'm laughing at how stupid you are Raizo."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Raizo asked confused as hell. Kanjuro wasn't acting like himself, and it was starting to scare him.

Imu, looking bored, decided to make himself known again.

"Come here my child."

Kanjuro bowed to him before walking towards him. Raizo looking at him with disbelief couldn't believe what was happening.

"Attack him Imu ordered!"

"Yes master."

With the other retainers

The rest had finally made it to the tower... or what was once known as a tower. It now looked like a waste land with multiple building destroyed.

Jax who had know woken up looked at his house in disbelief.

"Kin'emon-San, what happened to them?" He asked.

"I'm sorry Jax-Sama." Kin'emon answered. His voice dried with guilt, shame, and sadness.

Jax looked at the scene Infront of him.

"Nii-Chan?"

The retainers bowed their head in shame, tears threatening to fall out.

"Nee-Chan?" Tears started to leak out of his own eyes now.

"WORORORORO" the laugh of a happy Kaido could be heard as his dragon form was still be seen miles behind him.

Infront of them you could see two small children on the ground with blood seeping through a few cuts. On the stone right behind him a woman was lying against the wall with blood stained on it and on the floor.

"J-Jax Kun."

Heads shot up as they heard the woman talk.

"MOTHER" Jax shouted with happiness, tears still leaking from his eyes.

"Toki-San" kin'emon said. "We got to get you to a doctor now."

"N-No, my time is up, please you must save my children." Toki blurted out. "Look I only have enough to teleport two people into the future. That means the rest of you will have to keep my children safe."

Jax grabbed his mother's bloody hand, clutching it for dear life.

"All of you except Jax and kin'emon, please, take momonosuki and hyori and run." She pleaded with them.

Instantly the large frog looking man picked up the two children as the others started running away.

He looked at kin'emon as they both nodded.

"Take care of them Kawamatsu." Kin'emon said.

"I will, you and Jax-Sama take care of yourselves too." Kawamasu answered as he ran off after the others.

Kin'emon sighed before looking at Toki.

"Do it." He spoke.

Toki smiled.

"Thank you for everything you have done for my family. I wish you luck in the future. I will teleport both you and Jax, twenty years into the future."

As jax heard this he looked up.

"No, you can't do that," he pleaded. I want to stay here with you.

"I know, my child but I'm afraid I will not be here to watch you grow up. That I know I will regret in the afterlife."

"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING LIKE YOU'RE GOING TO DIE. YOU WON'T, I WILL NOT ALLOW IT."

Toki looked at her son with tear-filled eyes before kissing him on the forehead. Grabbing his hand, he took it off her. As soon as she did this Kin'emon grabbed him.

"WH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING. GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME. LET ME GO" he said as he continued to struggle. "WE HAVE TO SAVE MOM" his vision started getting hazy and white as it closed in on each other. "PLS, DON'T LEAVE ME MOM." His vision got smaller and smaller the last thing he could see was his mother looking at him with tear-filled eyes before she suddenly averted her eyes up in surprise.

"MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM"

Dream End

Jax suddenly woke up as he lifted his head bashing his skull into mine.

"OOOW," I cried out.

Sweat poured down Jax's face as he panted heavily.

"It, it was just dream" he breathed out.

"I wish this pain was" I said in annoyance before something caught my eye.

"Oi, Jax look. It is our next adventure." I said pointing out at the island Infront of us.

"Finaly," he mumbled.

"The True King Pirates have finally arrived. I wonder if our next crewmate is there."

As our boat hit the shore, we got off it.

"Where is this place jax" asked as we stared at the forest Infront of us.

"Uuh it should be Afureta Village." I answered, rubbing my head as I turned the map up and down. "We desperately need a navigator."

"Well, I do sense a bunch of people up ahead. Jax said as his eyes diverted to a certain place. "And also..."

Suddenly two bullets came flying out towards us. Turning our heads sidewards, it flew past our heads.

"Damn... I was hoping that would hit." A voice called out.

Well, we cannot always get a headshot on your first try, remember Sensei. Said another voice.

"Well, that is true hahaha."

Smirking I said "So, who are the stupid idiots who that it was smart to attack us?"

Authors note.

Wow, what an interesting and exiting chapter this was.

Soo many questions towards our new favourite first mate, hmm.

Is Jax related to Oden?

Why is Imu there?

What did he mean by mixed up with his ancestors?

If he was sent into the future, why is he an adult and not still a child like momonsuke in the anime?

What was it that made Toki Kozuki surprised before Jax vision fade?

Did this chapter cover some of those questions? If not stay tuned to find out.
