A few weeks passed, and things were slowly turning into her new normal. Desi began training again, staying at the compound at everyone's request. Thankfully, she could sleep independently every night, but she knew Bucky and the others would give her passing glances, almost wanting to join her. She wished the fight with her former brothers wasn't as public as it was, but she struggled with sleeping from time to time, going on late-night jogs to help her. She didn't want to worry anyone, wanting to keep this to herself as much as possible, but she didn't know where she stood—second-guessing herself, her decisions, and what to do with herself. Slipping into the kitchen, she sighed as she sat at the counter, sipping water to help calm her nerves.
"Can't sleep?" She smiled when she saw Tony walking in with Pepper. "Something like that." She spoke. " Tony told me what happened. I'm so sorry." Pepper said, walking towards her as she held her arms out. Desi smiled sadly and hugged her, appreciating her kindness.
"It's so hard, you know? We were distant already, but they're the only family I've ever had." Desi spoke. "Well, you know you have us." Pepper reminded her. "You're right. Like a second family." she responded. "Speaking of family, I want you to know that I feel you, kiddo, and…well." Tony looked over to Pepper as Pepper wrapped her arm around Desi's shoulder in support. "Pepper and I put this together, and…well, just open it." Tony said, handing her over a folder from the counter.
Desi accepted the folder with a soft 'thank you' before flipping it open. Desi saw on top of the form a government form with 'Report of Adoption' and read it down to Destiny Montoya under the information filled out. She went further down to Information on Amended Birth Record Following Adoption to Destiny Stark filled in, making her gasp. Desi saw under Adoptive Parents Father: Anthony Edward Stark. She covered her mouth as she chuckled happily, tears coming to her eyes as she looked up at Tony.
"You've been good to Pepper and me since the beginning, and you're a good kid, Angel. Even Parker looks up to you, and that kid needs guidance. I'd be happy to share my last name with you. And more than that, I refuse for you to disappear without a trace. So, what do you say?" Tony asked, trying to figure out how to approach this eloquently.
Desi smiled and nodded, "Can I hug you?" she asked, holding her arms to Tony. He rolled his eyes playfully as he walked over to her, pulling her into a hug and looking at Pepper. Pepper smiled and got in on the hug.
"You won't be in the will, though."
She laughed, "This is more than enough, thank you. Both of you. I accept." Tony waited patiently before Desi finally pulled away, pulling Pepper into a hug.
"I'm so glad you said yes. At least we'll finally have a well-behaved Stark." Pepper said as she released Desi. "I promise I won't let you both down. Wait, should I call you Daddy T now? Papa? Dad? Or do I stick with Uncle?" she asked, looking at Tony curiously. Tony groaned, but Pepper chuckled at the suggestions.
"I don't know. Daddy T sounds pretty good to me." Pepper teased, making the women chuckle. "Father, in public should the news break out, but call me Uncle in private, okay?" Tony told Desi. "Fine with me." Desi said as she finally wiped away her tears. "Why don't you return to bed while we finalize everything?" Pepper suggested. "I'll try. Thank you both again. You didn't have to." she spoke.
"You're a good kid. Have a good night." Pepper said softly, giving her a nudge. "Goodnight, you two. Have a good night!" Desi said, flashing them both one last grateful smile before she disappeared in the hallway. "I'm so proud of you, Tony." Pepper said, kissing him on the cheek. "I'm pretty great, aren't I?" Tony said, making her roll her eyes. "How do you want me to handle the story? You know word will get out?" she asked him. "Homeschooled; met her shortly after losing my parents, where her parents abandoned her. Took her in but didn't want the public eye to affect her; she's had a humble upbringing. She joined the Avengers with me because she wanted to help but wanted nothing to do with my company. I think that should suffice for now. Hopefully, it'll be enough." Tony told her.
"And if they want to meet her?" Pepper asked.
"Afraid she won't be able to. She'll be too busy being a Stark."
Saturday quickly came, and Bucky sparred with Desi early in the morning. Bucky was vigilant and helpful in pointing out where her weak spots were. Just as he was teaching her a different technique, the glass window above them shattered. Bucky was quick to cover her as he took out his pistol when the duo quickly realized it was Peter in his homemade suit, groaning. "Oh my god, Peter!" Desi exclaimed as she ran over to him, pushing Bucky out of the way as she rolled over Peter.
"What was that?"
Desi heard Steve but ignored him as she pulled off Peter's mask, hearing him hiss when she saw the shards of glass throughout his body. "H-Hi, Desi." Peter said innocently before he grunted again. "Peter, I'm going to help you, okay? Can someone help me get him to the medical bay, please? I need to scan him." Desi asked. Bucky quickly grabbed him, leading the way with Steve and Desi behind him as they made their way to the medical bay.
"Jarvis, can you scan him for me, please?" Desi asked as she put on her gloves. "Parker has sustained cuts and two bullet injuries in his left leg." Jarvis spoke. "It's not as bad as it…sounds." Peter said with another hiss. "I would give you an earful, but I know it's pointless at this point," Desi spoke, "I can either take all the glass and bullets out at once or one at a time. What's your poison?"
"Uh…all at once?" Peter asked, not sure which was worse.
"Jarvis, can you strap him down, please?" Desi asked, straps going over Peter's body. When her hands glowed, Peter panicked and broke out of his straps, making Desi sigh. "I'm sorry, Miss Destiny. I swear, I'll be ready now." Peter swore, but Desi was skeptical. "Buck, Steve, a little help, please?" Desi asked, looking over to them. Bucky held Peter down by his shoulders as Steve held his feet, making Peter panic. "I-It's not going to hurt, right?" Peter asked. "I'll try to be quick; don't move, though," Desi said apologetically before her hands glowed again. Peter groaned painfully, thrashing for a moment, but watched in awe as the glass shards levitated out of him into Desi's direction. She placed the glass and bullets onto the table behind her before she took off her gloves, placing a hand on Peter's forehead, healing him of all his injuries.
"You have magic hands. This is nice." Peter said, feeling relief as the super soldiers released him. "That she does." Steve said, making Desi smile at him. "Now, what happened?" Desi asked. "There was a robbery in town. I didn't want my aunt to see me like this. I was going to call, but I panicked; I'm sorry." Peter explained. "I'm just glad you came to me. Why don't you change while I make you something? You want pancakes?" Desi asked. "I haven't eaten yet, but a-are you sure?" Peter said. "It's Saturday; it's my weekend to cook and bake. Now, what do you say?" Desi insisted.
"Y-Yes, thank you, Miss Desi."
"Of course! Steve, Bucky? Apple pie today?" Desi asked.
"Yes, ma'am." The super soldiers said in sync, making Desi roll her eyes with a chuckle. "Coming right up. Let me just go clean up, okay?" Desi said that before she made her way to the elevator, the men watched her leave.
She took a shower and attempted to make it quick when Bucky came in. She covered herself but was motionless when he stood there, just glancing over her body. He took off his clothes, noticing her bite her lower lip before he joined her in the shower. Desi slid her hands up his chest, taking in his muscular tone as he placed his hands on her hips, giving her a chaste kiss. "I've missed you," Bucky whispered. "We were just training together." she joked, but he was unamused, his hands gripping her. "I've given you space, but I've been worried about where your heads are. Where do you stand? Where do we stand?" he asked her bluntly.
"I...admit I haven't been the same since returning, but my head was still processing my brothers. I just, I know we drifted, but to see it go down like this- I was just adjusting to the news. I didn't have much of a family, but I at least have Leonardo still." she explained.
"You should've talked to one of us."
"I did last night, in a sense. Tony adopted me; he didn't want my name to be stripped. So now, I'm Destiny Stark." she introduced herself, seeing him crack a brief smile.
"I'm glad, really." he said simply, but she knew he wanted more than that. "I...want to continue where he left off, but I don't want to force anyone to stay with me. What are you feeling about all of this?" she asked him.
Bucky looked down at her lips before observing her facial features, cupping her face suddenly. She felt a sense of peace, of adoration from his touch- "I love you."
Desi blinked, a look of confusion, "What?"
"I love you." he repeated, his thumbs caressing her cheek as she smiled, almost in disbelief. "I love you too, James." she finally said the words, and his smile grew, catching her breath.
Bucky pulled her into a brutal kiss, pulling her tightly against him as he told her how he felt. He felt unworthy to have this feeling. To have someone love and care for him as much as he did, even though he fought with himself. Desi, who he once thought would be a weakness, would also be his strength.
Pulling away for breath as warm water hit them, she smiled blissfully. "I don't suppose my Sergeant won't mind if I…serve him, will he?"
Bucky felt himself more turned on when Desi slid onto her knees, her eyes never leaving his as she slowly pumped his cock, kissing the tip of his cock before she made her way down. Desi wasn't sure if she wasn't doing it right, but she kissed his ball sack before licking and sucking on them, continuing to pump him before she licked her way up to his tip once more.
Bucky hissed, pulling Desi's wet hair back as she licked around his tip before slowly taking him into her mouth, gently sucking on cock as she bobbed her head slowly.
"Fuck, doll. Don't you tease me," Bucky spoke in a husky voice, sliding his hand into her hair, "keep those beautiful brown eyes on me." Desi released him with a pop, a smiled on her face.
"Do you want more?" she asked, licking the pre-cum from his tip, her eyes never leaving his. "Open wide for me." Bucky ordered, and she gave him a sultry look before slowly opening her mouth. Bucky eased his cock into her mouth, realizing his cock didn't fit entirely in her mouth, but it would.
He slowly thrust in her mouth, and she braced her hands on his thighs, moaning against him as Bucky picked up the pace. Bucky began to pump into her mouth relentlessly, feeling his peak coming before thrusting one final time, releasing his hot seed into her mouth.
Desi swallowed him greedily, her eyes never leaving Bucky as he pulled from her. Bucky pulled her onto her feet before lifting her in his arms, wrapping her legs around his waist as he slammed his cock into her awaiting heat.
Desi moaned into his ear, feeling his hands gripping her ass roughly as he set a brutal pace, driving Desi crazy as she moaned erratically, assaulting his mouth with kisses as she quickly felt her release coming. Bucky was quickly coming to his completion when Desi moaned 'papi' in his ear once more before he slammed one last time in her.
Desi and Bucky moaned in completion as Bucky released his seed into her once more, panting heavily as Desi rested her head against his shoulder.
"I couldn't help myself, I'm sorry." Bucky apologized, noticing the bruises on her as she brought her legs down.
"I'm, but I really need to get ready; I'm sure Peter and Steve are waiting." Desi spoke, but Bucky wrapped his arms around her waist again, kissing up along her neck.
"Come on, let's have another round." Bucky told her, making her giggle. "James, I really need to get out there!" Desi whined, pushing him back.
"Can I move into your room tonight?" Bucky asked her.
"That's a big move. Are you sure?"
"Just say yes, doll."
"Okay, fine," she agreed, slipping out of the shower, "I love you." He had come out of the shower before grabbing her arm, pulling her back for a quick kiss, "I love you too."
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
After Peter and Steve made their way to the kitchen, the team was back and speaking amongst one another as Desi made pancakes and Sam discussed something a peeved Bucky. Loki sat at the counter with Thor long before the food was ready, the God of Mischief watching his beloved occasionally.
Once everyone had been served, Desi had begun working on her pies when Steve approached her. "Pie's not ready yet, I'm afraid." Desi told him as she put in the filling on the four pies before her. The one thing this team was was always hungry.
"I was wondering if I could take you somewhere today? I believe I promised you a date." Steve asked of her. "Where to?" Desi asked questionably. "Wouldn't be a surprise if I told you." Steve told her. Desi rolled her eyes but nodded. "Alright, fine. Once these are done, though, okay?" Desi agreed.
"Deal." Steve said, smiling before he walked away. Steve felt Bucky's eyes on him and stared back at Bucky as he was on the other side of Sam. Peter saw this and crept up to Desi.
"Miss Desi?"
"Yes, Peter?"
"Are you really dating all three?" the teen asked. "Oh, umm, yeah. I really am." she answered truthfully, smiling as she replayed Bucky's confession this morning.
"It takes getting used to, kid." Nat told Peter. "Yeah, they're not exactly showing PDA as much as they used to." Clint added. "T-That's a lot." Peter spoke, unsure what to say. "Believe me, I know." Desi said with a heavy sigh. "Who's your favorite, then?" Peter asked, oblivious to the hard stares he was getting.
"Ssshhhh, do you want to start another world war here in the kitchen?" Desi nervously stated, covering Peter's mouth when she saw Steve, Loki, and Bucky staring intently. "Oh, right, sorry." Peter said as Tony put his dishes in the sink. "Make sure you come back early, alright, Romeo and Juliet? We have many assignments to plan, and I'll need Destiny back for it." Tony ordered as she put the pies in the oven.
"Done! Sir Jarvis, can you put a timer on them for me?" Desi asked. "Will do. Would you also like me to turn off the oven, Miss Stark?" Jarvis asked, the team looking at Destiny and Tony in utter surprise. "Yes, please. Thank you." Desi said, ignoring the looks the team was giving them. "Don't make it a big thing. Enjoy the pies, you guys. Can you take the pies out when the timer goes off, Nat?"
"Of course, Tiny. Have fun!" Natasha said as Steve escorted her out, noticing Bucky watching intently. "Ready?" Steve asked as he put on his leather jacket. "Absolutely." Desi assured him as they left, waving goodbye to everyone. "Are you okay with your adopted daughter going out, Tony?" Nat asked. "Who would be crazy to go after her? Especially with the Captain with her?" Tony spoke.
Desi smiled when Steve brought her back to the market, enjoying her time away from the compound. "You have no idea how much I needed to get out there. Thank you for bringing me here." Desi said. "I'm just glad you could come…how have you been holding up?" Steve asked Desi.
"Could be better, could be worse. I just…I don't know. The whole ordeal with my family is still hard to wrap around, but I'm glad I have you guys. Tony, especially." Desi explained. "I'm here if you need me. I've been worried." Steve assured her. Steve took her for pizza, enjoying each other's coming before exploring the market some more, looking at knick-knacks. "Look, Brooklyn!" Desi laughed as she attempted to put a baseball cap on him. Steve chuckled, bending down as he allowed Desi to put the baseball cap on him. "Don't forget yourself, sweetheart." Steve slipped, placing a baseball cap on her as well.
Hooking her arm with his, they played mini-games and snacked on side vendors. The night was starting to come, but she wished the day didn't have to end as quickly as it did. Arriving at the last vendor, there were vast amounts of jewelry, catching her eyes immediately.
"Anything catches your eyes, miss?"
"Just looking, thanks." Desi said, smiling at her as she continued looking over when she saw the rings. Bracelets and necklaces could be ripped off quickly, but she loved rings more than anything. Steve noticed her hand brush over a dark golden ring band with gems across the band and a slightly large stone in the center of the ring. "Try it." he told her, and she looked up to him with a perked-up look. "Sure." she said, carefully removing the ring from the case. The vendor woman helped her as she tried it on and grinned ridiculously when she saw that it fit her perfectly. "I love it." Desi stated, showcasing her hand to him, making him smirk. "How much?" he asked, taking out his wallet, but Desi quickly put her hand over it. "No, really, it's fine."
"It's $120, but I'll sell it for $100." the vendor chimed in, paying it before Desi could stop him. "Really, it's fine." she insisted, but Steve took her hand. "Come, we should get back." he urged her, walking her back. "You didn't really have to buy this for me, really. I feel bad." Desi confessed. She got nervous when Steve gazed at her with a severe face. She took a hard swallow and took her hand into his. "I didn't buy it just because you liked it." he told her.
"What?"
"Buck once gave you a ring, as did Loki. And I realized you had nothing from me—nothing for you to show that you were mine. I hope I didn't overstep." he explained. She smiled sadly, cupping his cheek, "If that's the case, can I get you one as well?" The vendor smiled when Desi looked down at the male rings when she held up a dark golden ring for her. "This is the matching set if you want. I have other sizes," she spoke to the Avenger healer, excited to see the Captain with someone. "Thank you." Desi whispered with a smile as she took the ring, looking back to Steve.
Steve watched as she placed the ring on his finger, which felt perfect. It was surreal to him to have this moment with her, but it gave him hope for a possible future with her. What he would fight for. "It's perfect. Something for when I'm away from you. Promise to keep it safe?" Desi asked, making him smirk. "I'll do my best." Steve swore, but she looked at him suspiciously. "Can I buy him a few spares and a thin chain necklace, just in case?" Desi asked, looking over to their vendor.
"Yes, yes, of course! Two more rings with a chain. I'll throw in my business card in case you need backups. I'll charge you $160 for such a big moment for you two." the vendor stated as Desi paid, Steve at a loss for words. "I suppose I should do the same." Steve chimed in, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and pulling his love against him. The vendor was rambling but knew they weren't listening as the couple looked at one another lovingly.
Arriving back at the compound, Nat was waiting in the lounge room with a smile on her face with Chip and Chewy beside, glancing over to Steve. "Looks like you two had fun." she teased. "We did." Steve said simply, sitting down as Desi sat next to him. He hung his arm around her shoulder when she leaned against him, keeping her close when she flashed her hand to Nat.
"We got matching rings." Desi stated, unable to fight the smile on her face. Chip barked, coming over to the ring to sniff before huffing, laying down as he stayed close to her. "Big move, Rogers. When are you getting married?" Nat teased as Bucky and Loki walked in. "Who's getting married?" Bucky asked when he noticed the ring she adorned on her hand. "Oh, that is preposterous. I don't remember us agreeing to that. Let alone discussing this." Loki defended, oblivious to Desi's eye-roll. "No one is getting married right now; it's just a ring." she supported as Chewy jumped onto the sofa, resting his head on Desi's stomach.
"Okay, nerds," Tony said as he walked in, "let's focus on the topic now that everyone is back. Thank you, lovebirds. We must prepare the assignments, and I'm on a time crunch. Let's separate and meet back in the conference room in a few hours. Can Capsicle take the dogs, please?" Desi pouted as she handed Chewy over to Steve, "Take care of our little ones?" Desi teased. "Yeah, of course." Steve said with a smirk before going to his room, looking back at her one last time as Chip followed him. Bucky wasted no time taking the cap off her head, surprising her.
"Did he propose?" Bucky asked her. "No. We just had fun together; we talked, walked, and ate. And we came straight back." Desi told him, wondering where he was going with this. Bucky glared at her, but Desi wouldn't let him intimidate her in such a way. Desi placed a hand on their cheek and felt his concern. Bucky calmed down, feeling silly for feeling this way, but she kissed his jawline, trying to reassure him.
"I love you, James. I'd tell you, promise." Desi said softly before she pulled away. "Okay, come on, let's go, Angel." Tony spoke, heading towards the conference room. Desi kissed Loki before she went after Tony, feeling the tension in the room. Once she was out of the room, Thor cleared his throat. "Well, I suppose you three should talk about this whole ring thing, huh?" Clint questioned. Bucky glared at him before he went to his room, slamming the door behind him.
"He's going to brood until the meeting." Clint pointed out.
"Makes you wonder if he's capable of anything else." Loki teased.
