Chapter 31: The Finale

You've Leveled Up!

Due to Levelling Up Via Stat Increasing, You Will Not Be Rewarded With Attribute Points!

Endurance Stat Reached 40! You've Been Granted A Special Endurance Skill!

Second Wind - Once per combat, you can restore 25% of your stamina.

I slowed down from my run, coming to a halt on the edge of Bardock's property. It took me quite a few laps around the place to bring my endurance stat up enough, but it paid off. I got a new endurance stat and was also able to confirm my theory.

Due to the stat system leveling me up whenever I obtained 6 attribute points, if I earned 5, then leveled up, then obtained 1 more point, I'd essentially get two levels at once. Of course, I didn't get any attribute points with the second level up, but leveling up also brought my power level up. Now, I was level 24 and my power level was 2664. I came into the tournament barely a second class and would leave a first-class.

I flexed my muscles and swirled my Ki around my body. I'd gotten so much stronger in just the last few weeks. If I continued on this projector, how long before I passed Brussel? Omato? Bardock? I shivered in anticipation, shoving those thoughts to the side for now.

Pulling up the notification that I got while fighting Kakarot, I mulled over my options. It was the first time that the game let me choose my special skill, and it certainly was a hard choice. The fact that the special skills could level up hadn't even occurred to me, let alone branching off. As I read them over again, I wondered if I'd be able to level them up separately from reaching milestones. I'll have to test that out another time.

In the end, I settled on what I felt was most versatile.

Skill Acquired!

Meteor Fist Lvl 2 (Branch 1) - Twice per combat, a single physical attack will do double its normal damage.

While the Iron Body branches were tempting, Meteor Fist came in handy more often. I almost chose the branch that allowed me to do triple the damage, but that would be useless if I ended up missing my attack.

Next, I pulled up my status sheet and considered how I should use my 12 attribute points. I currently had 71 in strength, so there was no need for anything else there. My endurance was at 40, so it could use work, but I'd just gained a special skill in it and didn't feel like it needed any improvements just yet. Especially considering that I could level it manually without much difficulty.

My intelligence stat was the lowest, at 25, so I had to at least put some stats into it. Besides that, I didn't know when I'd return to Mossgrove and get more books. I'd gotten two special skills already for each of the other stats, it was about time that I got one for intelligence. I put all 12 points into intelligence, bringing it to 37.

Intelligence Stat Reached 30! You've Been Granted A Special Endurance Skill!

Spark Of Brilliance - Once a month, you will be given a chance to have a genius idea. The requirements for this Spark of Brilliance will vary month by month. Failing this requirement will reset the monthly timer for the next Spark Of Brilliance.

That's interesting... I considered using it now but decided against it. The final was tomorrow, and I wasn't sure how long the 'requirement' would take. Besides that, I was getting tired and wanted some good rest before the fight.

With my bed now in mind, I headed to Zaria's room.

POV Change

"Thanks for the breakfast, Mom."

The atmosphere was tense, but Turles wasn't sure why. It was the morning of the finale and while before the atmosphere was far more exciting, today was just... Off. Granted, his mom was never excited about the tournament, but today she looked downright depressed.

Raditz seemed oblivious to the mood, a fork in one hand and one of his many notebooks in the other. The eldest son of Bardock rolled his eyes, before nudging Raditz under the table. The younger boy gave him the side-eye, and Turles gestured to Gine. When Raditz shrugged his shoulders and tried to go back to his book, Turles nudged him again.

Sighing, Raditz put his book down and turned to face their mom. "Are you okay, Mom?"

Gine looked up at them both, a deep frown on her face. Turles immediately got a bad feeling but stayed silent. Eventually, she said, "I'm sorry, Turles, but you won't be participating in the 1st class tournament."

He felt his heart drop to his feet as he tried to process what she said. He'd been worried about getting her permission when they'd first asked, and after getting her approval, he did not expect her to turn around and change her mind. It wasn't fair!

"What? Why?!" Turles gasped, his grip on his utensils tightening. "That's not fair! I've been looking forward to it for like a month!"

She was adamant, though, he could tell. She may have been soft when it came to killing, she wasn't a pushover as a parent. Confidently, she put her fork down and leaned back in her chair, before saying, "It's too dangerous."

"Too dangerous?!" He sputtered, honestly shocked. "But Kakarot and Sprout fought in their tournament!"

"And look what happened to Kakarot!" She yelled, shocking the two boys into temporary silence. Gine was firm, but this was the first time that she'd yelled at them. "He's in his room, half-dead! If it wasn't for my healing, he'd be dead!"

Turles could only stare for a few seconds before the shock faded away and his anger returned. "I'm stronger than Kakarot! I'll be fine!"

"You're stronger Turles, but not by much," She said. For Turles, it felt like a slap in the face. "Don't give me that look, we both know it's true. Besides, you're going to be in a tournament with people far stronger than the people Kakarot and Sprout faced."

"B-But... Mom this isn't fair!"

"Life isn't always fair," She folded her arms over her chest. "I'd rather you be safe and upset than dead."

Turles didn't care about her excuse; he was far too angry for that. "I am going to fight in the tournament."

Her eyes narrowed and he felt his heart skip a beat, but he stilled his expression. After a few seconds of staring, she said, "I've already spoken with Omato and gotten you withdrawn."

His throat burned and he resisted the urge to growl. "But Da-"

"Your Dad agrees with me," She interrupted him, only making him angrier.

"Why are you guys doing this?! I was finally excited to do something fun and you're taking it away from me!" He balled his fists tightly and broke eye contact.

"It's for your safety. You'll understand eventually," Gine replied calmly, with a tone of finality that Turles knew made it final. He ground his teeth together, and before he knew it, he raised his arm and dropped it right through the table, snapping it in half.

"TURLES!" Gine yelped in shock. The glasses on the table shattered and food was sent scattering.

"I'm leaving!" Turles yelled back, before storming out of the house and slamming the door so hard that everything shook.

"Get back here and clean this mess!" Gine tried to call for him but when he didn't reply, she sighed and sat back in her chair with her face in her hands.

In a flash of speed, Raditz picked up the broken plates and glasses. Personally, he didn't understand Turles anger about not being in the tournament, but he knew better than to get on Turles bad side. It took him a few more seconds to put the things he collected in the trash before he turned back to his mom.

"Do you want me to fix the table?" He asked awkwardly.

"No... No," She sighed. "Just go to the tournament. Sprout still needs people to cheer him on."

"You're not coming?" Raditz asked.

"Not today. I've seen enough violence in the last month to last years," She said. "Besides, I need to look after Kakarot."

"Okay..." Raditz said, before raising an eyebrow and looking down the hall. "Hold on, where's dad?"

"He was called to the other side of the planet for something really important."

"But what was it?"

"I have no idea," She shrugged her shoulders. "Anyways, you better catch up to Turles."

"Alright. See you later, Mom," Raditz slowly made his way to the door.

Outside he was surprised to see that Turles was still there, along with someone that Raditz hadn't seen before. He was tall, with shoulder-length black hair and a gentle look about him. On his back was a strange-looking metal staff.

"Who are you?" Raditz asked the guy, who stopped talking to Turles when he noticed that Raditz was approaching.

"Oh, I'm Jitsuki," The older Saiyan said, offering Raditz a wave and a smile. "Turles' friend."

Raditz eyed Jitsuki, his eyes flickering from him to Turles, who seemed to have calmed down a little bit. "Alright... Are we heading to the tournament together?"

"Yeah, we'd better get going if we don't want to be late," Jitsuki said. Before they could set off though, Jitsuki handed both of them bottles of water. Raditz hesitated to drink it, but upon watching them both drinking theirs, he followed.

"Is it just me or does this water taste weird?" Raditz frowned, a weird aftertaste lingering on his tongue.

"I got it from the river that goes through town, it should be fine," Jitsuki shrugged his shoulders. "Let's go."

Another POV

At the bottom of the mountain, another family was meeting. Silently, three individuals ate at a joint table. The atmosphere was dreary, as a large man at one end of the table stared down at the man on the other end. Slowly, the younger one lifted up his plate and took a bite of the steak in front of him.

Bll knew deep down that it would have been right to thank the woman to his right, his mother, for the food that she'd prepared for them all, but he couldn't bring himself to. Not a cell in his body believed that she deserved his gratitude.

"So…" The older man, his father, spoke. It was the first time they'd spoken since that day. "The finale is today."

Bll lifted another piece of steak into his mouth, his eyes not leaving his father for a second. Eventually, he said, "It is."

"Are you prepared?" He asked.

"I am," Bll replied curtly.

His father examined Bll with scrutiny, his eyes combing him in a second. "That opponent of yours is powerful. I've heard he's been training with Bardock himself."

Bll didn't reply to this, simply staring ahead as his father continued. "Defeat him, Kumba. Don't turn out to be a disappointment like your brother."

Before he could think, he was on top of the man, his fork pressed firmly against his father's neck. The man was stunned, his eyes wide and his mouth left open. Bll could feel his heart racing as the fork began to draw blood.

"You're fucking disgusting," He spoke, his voice calm, yet dripping with poison. "All he wanted to do was make you proud, but no matter what he did, it was never enough. He was just a kid, but you led him to his death. You killed him!"

"Kumba! Get off your father!" His mother shrieked.

"My name is Bll!" He yelled back, snapping his head around to glare at her. "That's the name my real parents gave me back on my purge planet! They raised me better than you ever could! You're nothing compared to them!"

The woman scowled in fury. "It doesn't matter what you say. They're dead, and they aren't coming back. Neither is your pathetic, powerless brother."

Bll's grip tightened until the fork bent like a pretzel. His body shook, but after a few seconds of tense silence, he stood up and threw the utensil into the ground beside his father's head.

"The only reason I stayed was because of Picklu," He growled as he made his way to the door. "After I avenge my brother, I'm off of this sick fucking planet."

He didn't look back.

Sprout POV

"Place your bets now! The battle between Sprout, the Decapitator, and Bll, the reigning champion, has finally arrived!"

Everyone was buzzing with life as the fight approached. There was not a second of silence as thousands of voices overlapped each other as people chatted about the events to follow.

I hopped from side to side, unable to stay in one place. Adrenaline filled me as I watched Bll make his way to the arena, which was just a field of broken glass by this point. His usual blank expression was tossed aside as he glared at me with pure malice behind his eyes. Trailing behind him were two daggers that he held so tightly that his knuckles were stark white.

"Got anything to say before we begin?" I asked him as I settled into my sword stance.

"Just one question," He tightened his grip on the blades as he bent his knees and Ki coiled around his lower body like snakes. "Do you regret what you did?"

"Regret?" I repeated the word, a smile slipping onto my face. "Not one bit."

"Good," He said, and for the first time, he smiled at me. It wasn't one of happiness, but one of resolve. "Now I can kill you in peace. You're going to suffer just like he did."

The sound of the starting explosion rang in my ears and immediately we both moved. Thunder rolled and in half a blink, he was already in front of me. Ki flooded to my eyes, but even that wasn't enough to properly see what was coming at me.

Fast! A flash of metal in my face forced me to back up just in time for his dagger to miss my eyes. I slashed upward with my sword, but he swatted it away with his right dagger and stepped into my guard, already making a stab with his left.

Rotating my body to the side, I narrowly avoided the dagger piercing my stomach, but immediately noticed him switching his grip on his right dagger and bringing it down to stab me in the head. I bent my body back as fast as I could, but even still his dagger ran a long line across my forehead.

I expanded Ki around my body in a wave, forcing him to retreat a few yards away. He waited as the poison circulated through my body, and soon enough, I dropped to my knees.

Bll spun his daggers in his hands a few times, before launching himself at me at full speed, intent on piercing me through the brains. He was only a foot or so away when I lashed out with my sword. His eyes widened, but not to my surprise, he was able to throw himself to the side, the blade merely drawing a line of blood across his cheek.

"How?!" He yelled as we squared off once again. I turned my head slightly, to Raditz who gave me a thumbs up and a grin.

"Thanks to you, actually," I revealed to Bll, smirking. "You told me that the poison was from the Spidasaur, and let's just say, I know a guy. He got me the venom and over the last few weeks I've been slowly poisoning myself to build an immunity."

"That's impossible!" He narrowed his eyes. "It takes years to build an immunity to poisons."

"If you think it's a coincidence, then come and find out," I spun my sword in my hand in anticipation. He didn't hesitate, speeding at me a moment later.

Compared to the Meta-Wolf Princess that I had fought, he moved like a god of speed. As he appeared in my guard and continued his ruthless assault, a large part of me wondered how I was going to actually win this fight. Somehow moving faster than before, his attacks barely missed me as I was forced to dodge.

His attacks were fluid and connected, and as I ducked and weaved to avoid being skewered, I couldn't find any openings. I barely had time to think, and even despite using all of my focus on dodging his attacks, they were still slipping in. Cuts opened up all over my body.

How is he so fast? I ducked beneath a dagger, before swinging at him. I was far too slow though, his daggers knocking it away as he pushed forward and swung at my neck.

Tilting my head to the side, I narrowly avoided the attack before I jumped back. Bll bent his knees, before blasting off towards me, and that was when I saw it. I threw several Meta-Wolf teeth at him, forcing him to block them and giving me enough time to fly up and off of the ground. The moment he narrowed his eyes at me, I knew that I'd guessed right.

At his power level, we should have been about equal in speed, with me being just a little bit faster. His speed was unnatural for his power level and size, but after watching him up close, I figured out why. Much like the trick that Root had shown me the night before the second trial, he was focusing his Ki around his limbs. However, he switched it around, and instead of focusing Ki on his arms, he focused on his legs, allowing him to move quickly in explosive bursts.

In the end, though, the legs were only useful on the ground.

"Come and fight me up here," I taunted him. "That trick can only take you so far."

Silently, he regarded me, before he began to float up. While he did his Ki snaked its way up his body, before settling around his arms in the same way that Root had shown me. My smirk widened slightly as I got into a stance. So he can use it like that too and he's mastered it…

"I don't need a trick to kill you," He said before he turned to the crown and outstretched his arm. "Jitsuki, give it to me!"

Out of the crowd, a bow staff flew directly at Bll, which he caught with ease. It looked to be entirely made of metal, with the exception of strange wiring at the end of both ends. Placing his daggers on either side of his waist, Bll pointed the staff at me, motioning me forward.

Of course, I could have probably complained about outside interference, but I'd look like I was chickening out if I did. Besides, I was curious about what this weapon could do. After a brief stare-down, I dashed at him.

The moment that our weapons met, I knew that I needed to think of something fast. His staff smacked my sword away like a fly, the superior strength granted to him by the technique far too much for me to handle. While I was stunned by the sudden show of strength, he twisted his body around and shoved the staff into my stomach.

Excruciating pain blossomed through me, the feeling of my entire body going up into flames flooding me. My free arm twitched as I instinctively reached for the weapon, only for him to pull it back before I could grab it. The feeling immediately stopped, although traces of it remained, leaving my body aching.

Before I could process what had happened, the blunter end of the staff slammed into me, sending me flying to the ground. The glass beneath me shattered on impact, but I quickly reorientated myself, flipping over and throwing a Ki ball at Bll, who was descending from above.

With ease, he slapped the ball of Ki out of the air, something that I hadn't even known was possible, before arriving in striking distance. Shit! I haven't had time to practice this, but I'll have to do it!

I shifted my Ki around my arms, before taking a deep breath and slashing up as Bll came down. Our attacks collided, and to my surprise, it was a stalemate. His eyes widened in shock, as we were locked in a stalemate.

Even still, the fact that it was a stalemate spoke to his mastery of the skill. He had a power level of 2,116 and mine was 2,640, and yet using the same technique, we matched. I pushed against him to no avail, and he responded by going on a full-on offensive.

I can keep this up! With his Ki no longer focused around his legs, I had a slight advantage in speed, and now that I was using Ki to enhance my attacks, the only advantage that he had was his proficiency with weapons. That wouldn't be enough.

My blade began to burn bright white as I channeled Ki into it. He was better with weapons, but mine was superior. After a few back and forths, the metal of his staff was already turning red. Upon noticing this, he jumped back to gain some distance.

I released my breath and smirked, before saying, "This match is over. I've figured you out."

"Don't get overconfiden-"

Lightweight!

He didn't have time to move his Ki before I was in front of him. My sword moved with purpose toward his torso, but even despite his surprise, he was able to move his staff in the way of the attack. My sword burst into flames as it approached, and when it connected with the metal of the staff, it sliced right through with ease.

I could see his Ki already on the move, but I was faster, stepping forward further into his guard, and swinging back down at him. My sword, enhanced by my speed and the Ki around my arm, would have cut horizontally through his body if he hadn't managed to jump back just in time. He didn't come out unscathed, however, the tip of my sword cutting a long deep line across his torso.

I didn't give him the chance to retreat, immediately throwing the sword at him like a javelin. He drew for his daggers, knocking it away, but the distraction was enough for me to blitz behind him. He sliced at me, but I ducked underneath his arm, before grabbing it and twisting it behind his back, far enough to dislocate it. A split second later, he was on the ground.

He struggled against me on the ground, but the fight was decided. I twisted his arm even further up, until the tendons began to tear, before bending down so that I was next to his ear. I whispered, "I'll admit, I'm a little disappointed. I was looking forward to a proper fight, but in the end, you were just as boring as that idiot you called a brother."

"Don't you dare talk about him like you have any right!" He shouted. Half of his face was pressed up against the glass, but with one good eye, he glared at me with pure hatred. "What gave you the right to take his life?!"

"He was just a kid that was raised badly! He made one mistake, did he really deserve to die for that!" He yelled. "This race is so fucking twisted! We kill, and kill, and kill, but don't give a fuck how our actions affect each other! How would you feel if I killed the person that you care about the most?! Maybe one of Bardock's kids! Or that girl that's always draped around your neck! Would that give you the right to kill me?! TELL ME!"

Too stunned to reply, I simply stared at the back of his head. I hadn't thought about it like that. Murdering was as natural as breathing to me, why wouldn't it be? That was all that I knew. After killing millions of people, other people's feelings stopped being a thought that I considered.

I was brought back to the first time that I'd met Bardock. What was it that he'd said? The memory came back to me a second later.

"I follow the path of Yamoshi. He was the most powerful of all but he didn't become a hardened shell with no mercy, as our species has turned into."

Is that what I am? I asked myself, deep in thought. How would I feel if someone killed one of my friends? A deep, dark feeling filled me at just the thought. I'd killed Picklu just because he beat me in a fight in front of others, but by that same logic, everyone who lost in this tournament would have the right to kill whoever beat them.

This is more complicated than I thought. I frowned. The only reason that I was alive right now was because Bardock had mercy on me when he found me unconscious and half-dead. This is too much to think about right now. I need to end this match.

"TELL ME!" He struggled against me harder until the muscles and tendons in his arm began to tear.. "WHAT GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO TORTURE AND KILL MY LITTLE BROTHER?! ANSWER ME NOW YOU FUCKING BASTARD!"

"I…" I furrowed my eyebrows, an answer not coming to me. After a few seconds of empty silence, I lifted my fist in the air, before flattening it into a palm. The Tuffle book would come in handy after all. My next move would knock him out in one hit. Just as my palm was about to hit the back of his neck, deep and powerful laughter filled the air.

Suddenly, Ki like the powerful current of a waterfall exploded from his body, forcing me off of him. I skidded until I gained control of myself, before looking up to see just what had happened. Ki flowed out of him untamed, evaporating everything around him as he slowly got onto his feet. He's… Laughing?

"No response, huh?" He continued to laugh as his energy continued to rampage around him. "I was taught by my real parents that killing was wrong. I stayed for as long as I could on their world, but we knew that if I didn't return, they'd eventually send another. We found a way to trick my space pod into thinking that all life was extinguished, and that was how I got back to this planet. I haven't killed a thing in my life."

I stayed quiet and listened to his rant. Slowly, I watched as his power level slowly began to increase. "My parents always taught me that murder was wrong in any case. But I think they're wrong. Killing you would be doing the universe a favor. So get ready, I'm no longer going to be holding back."

"Holding back?" I questioned, before throwing up my fists. There's no way he was holding back before. He had something up his sleeve this entire time?!

"I've been working on this for a long time…" His only working arm slipped down to his waist and grabbed one of his daggers. "You will be my test subject."

The enemy is enraged! His power level is rising!

Wha-

He moved in a blur towards me, but after a step, I was already in the air, flying upward. I looked down at where he was before, but to my shock and horror, he was gone, the ground where he was a moment before only a crater. I turned just in time to see him behind me, dagger moving down at me at speeds that shouldn't have been possible.

There's no way! I threw both of my arms up to guard my face. The dagger dug straight through both of them and halted the assault for just a second before he pressed forward and the tip of the dagger shot for my face. I couldn't fight against it, just barely throwing my head to the side to avoid it. With ferocity, he twisted the blades in the wound, before tearing them out.

He's alternating between his arms and legs in an instant! I retreated backward as fast as I could move but he followed.

Shooting several balls of Ki at him with my mouth, I halted his approach temporarily as I tried to think. With one attack he'd taken out my arms. They were dangling by strings of muscle, and the pain was excruciating. Despite the pain, blood loss, and slow lack of consciousness, I was as excited as ever.

After slapping most of my attacks away, he flipped over one and used the resulting explosion as a springboard to shoot himself at me. His blade was poised to pierce me through the throat, but just as he was about to hit me, I activated [Iron body]. The blade strained against my skin, before shattering, much to his surprise and my relief.

I span in the air, using his surprise against him to catch him in the torso with my knee and send him crashing back to the ground. Before he could even hit, I opened my mouth as wide as I could.

"KINGS SPEAR!"

The quickly shot beam sped at him, but to my surprise, he caught it. Still, the beam drove him into the glassy ground below, before exploding in a massive blast. There was no doubt in my head that he was alive. That Kings Spear was nothing like the one that I'd used against Kakarot, due to my lack of arms.

I slowly dropped to the ground, waiting for the dust to settle. As I did, I focused Ki around my arms to burn the open wounds shut. This wasn't looking at all in my favor, but I wasn't going down without a fight. Once my injuries were tended to, my Ki flowed down to my legs, and I took a deep breath, stabilizing it around my legs just like he had it before. If I didn't have my arms, I'd just have to kick him unconscious.

He didn't wait until the dust cleared naturally, cleaning the entire mile-high cloud by speeding toward me. But now, the gap between our speeds wasn't too large. I shot at him just as fast as he was coming at me, and was immediately under assault. As I thought, I realized, Between mastering his different weapons, he never learned how to fight with his fists.

Even still, he was still dominating the fight. The attacks that I managed to get in didn't seem to faze him. I couldn't block, and there was only so far dodging could get me. His punches rained across my body as I did my best to survive until an opportunity presented itself. Just like Bardock taught. Wait for the perfect opportunity.

I waited and waited until it was right in front of me. Now!

Meteor attack! I ducked underneath a punch and swiftly kicked out at his shin, my right leg burning in orange energy. Combined with the enhanced Ki around my leg, the attack easily snapped through his leg and he dropped to one knee. It didn't stop him though, as he pushed himself up with his good leg and swung an uppercut at me.

I barely moved my head out of the way, the attack scraping by my head and tearing off my ear. I didn't allow the pain to stop me, rearing my head back and preparing myself. Meteor attack!

I threw my head forward and they connected with a resounding 'crack'. I felt the bones in his nose explode, and a second later, his body went slack and he fell backward. I stared down at him for a few seconds, before my own legs gave way and I fell onto my back. I could barely even feel my body as I lay, staring up at the bright sky above me.

My throat burned with exhaustion, and as I lay there, I tried to move with little success. My left eye was swollen shut from my reckless attack, and it was a struggle to keep the remaining one open. But something was wrong. Where are my experience points?

The sound of shuffling at my feet sent a jolt of panic through my body. I watched helplessly as Bll somehow forced himself to his feet and dragged himself over to me. His nose had exploded completely, coating his entire face in blood, and yet, he didn't show an ounce of pain. Behind his eyes was the same, unbridled anger toward me. My eyes must have been playing tricks on me, but for a second, I could have sworn that I saw a flash of emerald green deep in those dark eyes.

"No matter what… I'm going to wipe you off the face of this planet…" He spoke in slurs. He lifted his free hand toward me, and a massive ball of Ki began to form. "Even if it means that I go out with you."

Shit! This guy is fucking crazy! I tried to move again but found that I was far too exhausted from the fight and the injuries I'd sustained were too great. There was only one thing that I could do. I opened my mouth wide and my own Ki attack formed. Best case scenario, our energies would react just like Kakarot's and I's had and we'd be locked into an energy struggle. Worse case… Well, worse case, our attacks would collide and we'd both be erased by the ensuing explosion.

Our energies gathered and my heart hammered in my chest. He showed no signs of slowing down, and by the size of the attack, I knew that his threat was legitimate. This attack would take us both out if it landed. I prepared for the worse, before taking a deep breath.

"King's Sp-"

The sound of an extremely loud whistling stopped me in my tracks. I looked for a notification on my screen, only to find nothing. I looked back up at Bll, only to see a confused look on his face as he looked at something behind me in the sky. Slowly, his hand fell to the side, and the Ki ball in his hand dissipated, as his look of confusion only deepened.

Upon seeing his confusion and disposal of his attack, I dropped my own attack. I struggled to tilt my head back far enough to locate what he was looking at. I could hear the crowd erupting into speech, but I couldn't make it out over the rushing of my blood and the whistling that only got louder. Once I was able to dig out some glass beneath my head and fully tilt my head back, my mouth dropped open.

What… The fuck… Is that?
