Ghost watched the city he was leaving behind. Terragrigia was really huge. A beautiful city, but one that he could not, and probably never will, enjoy.

The people there seemed somewhat cheerful, animated. The beaches were crowded and there were many boats, speedboats and jet skis in the water.

Great, he would take that fight out of that city.

Turning around, he observes the man who was driving the boat. One of the workers, one of the hired mercenaries. After he saw Ghost kill all those men like it was nothing, with an agility and precision he had never seen before, he didn't have much choice when the agent told him to drive the boat to those coordinates.

He could take the boat and go to the place alone, yes, but there would certainly be men checking inside the boat, and he couldn't get into a firefight right away. The mercenaries, it mattered little. If he didn't kill them, Veltro would, they knew too much.

But not Dominik... he had to die... no matter what means were used.

He remained motionless for some time, sitting with his back propped up on a large strapped box and a gun pointed at the man's back, making sure he was going in the right direction.

After a while, in the distance, he could see the spot from which they were approaching.

The bus route to Terragrigia was visible... and next to the bus boarding point was that same warehouse with that symbol he had found familiar.

Now it made sense... that was the place.

His instincts were never wrong, it seemed.

(Repeat.) He said to the man, who just turned his head to the side, indicating that he had heard him.

(There was some trouble at the warehouse and some men stayed to fix it, so I'm going alone... the... Grigory, he... he's already gone to the ship with some men and is waiting for Dominik.) The man said, clearly intimidated, but trying to keep himself in control.

(Don't stutter so much.) Ghost said, walking towards the center of the boat and stopping just before a ladder leading to the lower part of the boat. (You know what will happen if I see you again... don't you?)

The agent asked threateningly, noticing the tremor the man had upon hearing his voice, hearing those words with a clear tone of threat. The body didn't lie, the brain might think it could handle it, but the body knew that this man didn't stand a chance.

The kind of pressure and intimidation that a great majority could not, and never would, without breaking some rules, without being taken to the extreme of the purest human violation. Both physically and psychologically.

His cold blue eyes seemed to glow in accordance with the threat, being burned deep into the soul of the man, who didn't even have the courage to look back.

Ghost went down the steps of the ladder and hid. There were many boxes down there, from small to medium-sized. A pile in the corner, with several boxes in front of it to make passage difficult, would do.

The boat continued to move for a while, and soon Ghost felt the vehicle slow down until it came to a complete stop.

Footsteps echoed above him, and the man driving the boat began talking to the guards who had come to check it out.

"The boat is ready. Just as Dominik said, Grigory is already waiting at the cruiser." He heard the man say, getting out of the boat. A little later, he could hear other footsteps, these heavier, louder ones. Another person climbed onto the boat.

"The merchandise is in good condition, right?" One of them asked, probably the one who was still outside the boat, while the other walked around the boat, checking the boxes upstairs.

(There have been some problems with the wiring in the place. Some transformers blew, the power board burned out. Some were left there to fix). The man said, somewhat convincingly. Good, his desperation worked well for Ghost.

The other man started down the stairs and the agent lightly squeezed the handle of his knife. Both men should go back to that warehouse and communicate to Dominik that everything was okay, he couldn't kill either of them. But if he was somehow found, he would have no choice.

The man's footsteps evidenced that he was checking out the place. Long, long, heavy steps, probably trying to balance himself among so many boxes.

Some boxes were moved around, his steps came closer, but at a certain moment he stopped. Ghost remained calm, there was no way he could have been spotted.

"Everything is good. We can go." He shouted suddenly, and soon, his footsteps up the stairs echoed through the place.

"Let's go then. Dominik is inside. He probably has some work for you." The man said, and shortly after, Ghost could hear their footsteps moving away.

He came out of his small hiding place and quickly climbed the stairs. As he climbed up, he saw the three men enter the warehouse through a side door, and what appeared to be a hallway became visible, before they closed the door again.

He quickly got off the boat and ran across the pier to the warehouse. There was no one in front, and the security cameras were not pointing at him. Those that were, he was able to deftly avoid them. When he reached the side of the warehouse, he ran his eyes around as he heard many voices near the door.

His eyes focused on a nearby lamp post.

He ran to the lamppost, jumped up, and grabbed onto it. Taking momentum, he jumped again and, turning his body still in the air, grabbed onto the metal roof and pulled his body up, disappearing from sight at the same moment that three men came out of the warehouse and started walking toward the boat.

Quickly, he walked across the roof toward the nearest skylight. The only open skylight led into a very small office. An office that no longer seemed to serve as an office. There were a few items down there, things like microscopes, operating tables, open boxes with metal objects on display.

Certainly different from the other warehouse.

He cautiously went down into the room after seeing that there was no camera there, there was no one there either.

With silent steps he approached the window, Dominik was in the middle of the warehouse. There were no shelves or racks around, several boxes were simply scattered around the corners of the place.

All those items on display made it evident that Dominik was building another laboratory. And Ghost knew that the chances were great that some sample of that virus would be there.

Dominik was saying something to a small group of men, while at least ten other men were arranging the boxes in certain places. It looked like they were getting ready to take them somewhere else... or getting ready to set them up somewhere else.

His answer came when, from the ground, two huge gates opened, revealing a platform with some kind of control. An elevator to an area underground... were they planning to build the laboratory there?

Well, it was outside Terragrigia, but close enough for them to come and go from there whenever they wanted without problems. There were no such strict rules in that city, let alone it was so protected.

Something he noticed about that group... their laboratories were always built near places that have a lot of water. Be it a water table, a lake, a river, or the ocean... it was already known to him that this virus had a lot to do with water.

It was nothing confirmed, but he would say that this group planned to spread this virus throughout the oceans. Everything, so far, that they had found out about Veltro indicated that indeed, that was the plan.

He just had to confirm it and send what he found to the BSAA. William might not trust them, but he knew they would take care of the rest. Unlike the rest of the government, they hadn't taken any bribes up to that point.

Not to mention that when that mission was over, Ghost would immediately be sent on to another. No rest for the agent, apparently.

From his peripheral vision, he saw a man in a cap and dark clothes carrying a box move toward the corner of the room. The man crouched down and began to organize the boxes a few steps ahead of the base of the stairs.

He could eliminate it unnoticed, but he would have to be quick.

Turning, he walks through the empty space and reaches the top of the stairs, where he has a perfect view of the man.

Nimbly, he throws a knife at the man's neck, who falls down without making a sound, being hidden by the large amount of boxes scattered about, forming a small wall of boxes.

Descending the stairs quickly, he moves in a crouch toward the man's body, picks up his knife, wipes off the blood that was on the blade, and begins to change his clothes.

As he did so, he put his hair back and put his cap on as tightly as he could and lowered it slightly in front of his face.

His knife was well hidden, as was his pistol. But, unfortunately, he could not take his rifle, since no one there, except the group Dominik was talking to, were armed with rifles.

With luck, no one would recognize him. Everyone there was a mercenary anyway, and many probably never saw each other until the hiring of that job.

For good measure, he placed a few more boxes on and around the man's body, pretending to tidy them up, and as soon as he was done, he walked calmly toward the center of the warehouse, picked up another box, and did the same as the others were doing.

No one paid any attention to him, and Dominik continued talking something with his group of men.

The agent pretended to be part of the group for a while longer, and continued picking up and moving boxes until Dominik caught the attention of all the workers there.

The agent pretended to be part of the group for a while longer, and continued picking up and moving boxes until Dominik caught the attention of all the workers there.

"Okay, listen up. We have a lot of work to do. Take the boxes marked with the coat of arms and get on the platform. Let's get things ready. We don't have much time." Dominik said, and Ghost, like the rest of the workers there, took two boxes marked with the coat of arms and walked to the platform.

Once everyone was in position, Dominik pressed the button and the platform began to descend at the same time as the gates above began to close, leaving the platform somewhat dimly lit, despite having lamps on the side.

Ghost had his head slightly down and the boxes close to his chin, apparently normal, as many were the same way. Nothing suspicious, no one seemed to suspect him there. And now, close to them, he could notice more of what they had.

Each of the workers there was armed with a pistol, and only that. They all had similar physical types, which allowed him to blend in with them, although it was clear that he had a slightly larger physique than most.

The platform stopped, lights on the walls came on, illuminating the whole place.

Dominik began to walk ahead, followed by the group of men armed with rifles, and finally the workers.

They walked down a long, but not very wide corridor in a sort of double Indian line. They passed a metal catwalk which, below, had two huge water tanks.

As they continued walking, they passed in front of an open area covered with grass, a huge pool of water in the background that was supposed to serve as a kind of lake. The place was enclosed by glass and there was a door on the side. A room that simulated nature... why?

They continued walking for some time, passing in front of surgery rooms, experiment rooms and even some changing rooms, until they finally reached a large area. There were already a few things in this area such as operating chairs, computers, etc.

There were also some doors leading to corridors and unexplored places. But as far as the base goes, the laboratory was already completely built, only the items that needed to be installed were missing.

"Let's get this place fixed up. I want it ready within three hours, get moving." Dominik said, before waving to the group that followed him and he walked towards a door at the side.

A moment later, the door closed, and their footsteps walking away were the only things to be heard.

Ghost placed his boxes on the floor and opened them both, electronic components, some disassembled, others that needed installing in places he didn't see ready.

Shaking his head slightly, he pushed some boxes aside and picked up two table legs. Then he stood up and turned to the workers.

"One of you, take these boxes and help me set this up in the other room." He said, receiving quick neutral stares, and many, many not taking notice of him. Great, no one seemed to notice his identity.

"Can't you do this yourself?" One of them asked, nine steps to his right, kneeling in front of a box with a monitor.

"You heard the boss, we have to be quick. Three hours. If we hurry, we'll come back and finish up here. Or would you rather take the risk of being late?" The agent retorted, and the man, after a tired sigh, and perhaps a little irritated by what the agent could discern, he stood up and walked toward him.

"I'll help too. The sooner we get this installed, the better." Another mercenary said as he approached.

The agent stared at him for a few moments, silently analyzing him, but in the end did nothing.

The agent, after picking up another box, turned and walked down the corridor they had arrived there. After a few steps, he turned right and entered a random room, waiting for the men who were walking a few steps behind him.

As soon as they reached the room, the worker placed the box on the floor and arched an eyebrow, slightly confused.

"That's the staff changing room..." The man barely finished his sentence, and his voice was choked with his own blood as the agent stabbed him in the throat.

Ghost pulled out his knife quickly and hurled it toward the other, hitting him squarely in the neck and put on his mask. The short time he had to analyze the scene was enough for him to find what he wanted.

The agent walked over to the man and took his knife back, wiping the blood on the fallen mercenary's clothes. Without looking at the body that had fallen at his feet, the agent turned and walked down the corridor with quick steps. A short while later, still in the corridor, he turned left and focused his eyes on the door ahead.

As he had imagined, the door was locked.

Quickly, the agent opened the door with his knife and focused his eyes on the generator inside.

Considering the time, he would say that he had approximately three, four minutes at most, to deal with the workers before Dominik returned with his men. Since it was a somewhat imprecise estimate, he would have to deal with them much faster than those estimated numbers.

The power in the place dropped, and the agent embraced the darkness that surrounded him.

He walked out of that place at a quick pace, using not only his training to sneak through the darkness, but also as the confused voices of the workers ahead.

As he walked down the corridor, some emergency lights came on. These lights, although they provided some illumination, were too dim to make the place more visible.

"... can't even take care of the wiring of the place. And this should be a laboratory of great importance". One of the workers said.

"This place has generators... strange that they haven't turned on." Another said, just as the agent approached.

The agent approached the first worker from behind, quickly stabbing him in the neck and kicking his body forward. The sound of the body hitting the ground attracted the attention of the other workers, who looked in his direction.

However, due to the low brightness of the emergency lights, they could not really distinguish the fallen body from the boxes and items on the floor.

Another body was felled, again the thud echoed through the place, leaving the workers, previously confused, now somewhat frightened.

Then they saw, a shadow, a shadow moving at great speed toward another worker. This time they heard a choked voice and a faint groan of pain, and again, a thud echoed through the place.

"What the fuck...!" One of the men shouted, but was soon silenced when the agent hurled a knife toward him, hitting him in the chest.

"Ah, shit!" One of the others shouted, moving quickly. It didn't sound like he was trying to run away. Perhaps he had moved in an attempt to grab something to defend himself. Whatever he tried to do, it didn't work, and soon, his body was on the ground with a broken neck.

Wide, loud footsteps were heard heading quickly toward the corridor, accompanied by a loud, frightened voice.

The agent didn't let him, of course. He picked up a thin metal pipe that lay on the floor and threw it toward the man, hitting him squarely in the back of the head, knocking him down.

The agent, before he could do anything else, looked to his side after hearing footsteps approaching quickly. As he turned around, he slightly widened his eyes when he saw that one of the workers was approaching with a hammer in hand.

The man attacked him, but the agent dodged, throwing his torso to the side. He then countered with a punch to the face, followed by a kick to the side of the knee, causing the man to kneel on the struck leg.

The agent grabs the man's head with both hands and hits him with a strong knee to the face, causing blood to flow from his now broken nose.

Wasting no time, Ghost takes the hammer from the man's hands and brutally strikes him in the head. A strong attack, and the sound of the metal colliding against the man's skull echoed in the same intensity as the sound of the bodies falling to the ground.

Three hammer blows were needed. The hammer, stained with blood, stuck in the hole the agent had created in the man's skull, and he let his body fall to the ground.

The agent then took out his pistol and pointed it in the direction of the other men. They were all taken by surprise, and even as they tried to grab their respective weapons to neutralize the threat, they were not fast enough, and the agent shot them first. Clear shots, no waste.

Eliminating the other mercenaries, Ghost quickly takes his knife back and goes towards the man who had tried to run. The mercenary was dizzy, still recovering from the blow. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't recover fast enough, the agent stabbed his knife into the man's neck.

Ghost pulls his knife back and wipes the blood on the man's clothes. He now only had to deal with Dominik and his men.

However, before he could even get up, the lights came on again, much to his surprise.

He looked up and stood up quickly. There must be some other generator out there... or Dominik's group had turned on the generator he had turned off... which was highly unlikely.

It didn't matter, he didn't have time to worry about it, a large number of footsteps were approaching.

The door opened, and Dominik entered the room with his men, his eyes immediately going to the bodies lying on the floor.

His men surrounded the room, all in position, their rifles raised. Dominik walked slowly, observing all those bodies.

"... What the fuck! Whoever did this, we can't let him out!" Dominik shouted, grabbing a small tablet from one of his back pockets.

The emergency exit doors, as well as the elevator, were disabled. In other words, whoever had done that was trapped in there.

"There's no trace..." One of his men mentioned, still with his rifle raised, his eyes fixed in front of him.

"He's trapped in here. Four of you, left and right, the other three stay with me." Dominik said, picking up his radio.

"Grigory, stand by." Dominik called out, waiting for a response that was late in coming, just static. "Grigory! Answer, damn it!" He tried again, walking around somewhat impatiently.

He waited for some more time, but nothing, and an irritated grumble escaped his lips.

"But where the hell is that idiot?!" He asked no one in particular, putting the radio away and turning to the three men.

"Come on, with me. And keep your eyes peeled." Dominik said, turning and walking towards the door behind him.

The moment he took the first step, he heard one of his men groan loudly in pain. His instincts screamed, his hand instantly went to the gun at his waist, and he turned around.

The first thing he saw was a knife stuck in the chest of the man, who was now on his knees on the ground as his life drained from his body.

The next thing he saw was a figure moving at great speed and attacking the man next to the first one he hit.

The figure wore a mask with a skull on the front. The only thing recognizable was the uniform he was wearing, now stained with blood. Damn, the intruder had passed himself off as one of the victims.

Dominik raised his gun and fired, as did the man next to him. However, the intruder used his man's body as a shield and, with a pistol, fired in the direction of both of them.

Dominik gasps slightly as he feels the gun being knocked out of his hand, and he staggers back a few steps.

It was at this moment that his man advanced against the intruder, who was kicking the dead mercenary's body to the side.

The Mercenary attacked the intruder with a knife, a piercing blow. However, the masked man dodged to the side and counterattacked with a punch to the man's face, followed by a kick to the stomach.

The mercenary gasped, but he was experienced in hand-to-hand fighting and just ignored the pain. He turned his body and tried a backhanded punch to the intruder's face, which again dodged.

The mercenary didn't let the masked man react, he attacked him with a kick to the stomach. The man reacts, defending the kick with his arms. But before he could do anything, the mercenary spun his body around and attempted a spinning kick at the man, who dodges it by ducking.

The intruder then counter-attacks with a hook to the man's chin followed by a kick to the chest that causes him to step back. With the distance created, the intruder then rolls to the ground and grabs the knife that was stuck in the dead mercenary's chest.

Dominik saw that fight in front of him. His man would keep him busy, in the meantime, he could go after the other two he had sent to search the place.

The agent noticed the absence of his target, he had to get things over with.

The man in front of him advances again, a vertical blow with the knife. The agent deflects the attack with his own blade, taking the mercenary by surprise, and lands a kick to his opponent's stomach, followed by a punch to the face.

The mercenary took advantage of the momentum and spun his body around, hitting a kick to the agent's stomach and taking some distance to recover. Mistake.

The agent ignored the pain and simply moved forward again. The mercenary gritted his teeth and gasped as he forced his body to move. He again attempts a knife attack, a piercing blow.

The agent deflects the blow again with his knife, pushing the mercenary's body forward, causing the mercenary to lose his balance due to the force imposed upon him.

Ghost then spins his body around and hits a spinning kick to the mercenary's face, causing him to spin violently a few times and fall to the ground.

The agent leaps up and, spinning his body in the air, lands on top of the mercenary's body, his knife stuck in his chest.

A quick and lethal stab, right through the heart. That man would never get up again.

Ghost gets up after wiping the blood dripping off his blade and walks in the same direction as his target had fled.

Dominik was running through the corridors quickly. He wasn't exactly scared, but distressed. Whoever this guy was, he was skilled. His mind had begun to wonder who had sent him.

This guy certainly didn't look like he was from the BSAA or any other government organization. Not one that he knew of.

But it didn't make sense... a rival organization, perhaps? Someone who wants to take his research for himself? How did he find out...?

"Damn it!" He grumbled as he ran down the corridor, his radio had fallen off back there.

His footsteps echoed loudly, as did other footsteps ahead, which stopped as he got closer. A little later, he saw two of his men.

"Hey, he's there! He's back there! Try to find out who he works for!" He shouted, pointing for his men to move forward.

They nodded in response and ran down the corridor as Dominik continued on his way... so much money, he couldn't lose all that because of an intruder.

He had to contact Grigory, or someone who was in the cruiser. Someone knew... he was already aware that the BSAA was already watching Veltro, yes, but to think that they already had that level of information...

In the distance, he could hear gunshots... lots of gunshots. His men met up with the intruder, and fortunately, they must have dealt with everything. As luck would have it, the other two he had sent to search the laboratory were attracted by the shots and joined the others, greatly diminishing that man's chances.

A double door opened in front of him, the shooting stopped. For a few moments he turned back, satisfied that his men had probably immobilized the intruder and were already interrogating him. They were not just any mercenaries, they were well trained.

Turning around again, he walked through the room of the facility. That room was nothing specific at the moment. There were some radio sets, some stretchers with bodies lying on them, computers in one corner... a lab rat tied up in another.

Dominik completely ignored the woman who was watching him with frightened, though tired, eyes. In front of the woman, the body of a boy, a teenager with part of his body mutilated as a result of the fusion with the virus, lay on the stretcher, his hands and legs chained to chains attached to the floor.

His body was compatible... it could be a key to controlling those amazing creatures.

Well... he would deal with that later.

Turning, he walks towards some computers ahead and turns on the monitors attached to the wall. He had to send a message. If the BSAA knew about the safe house, then probably other organizations did too.

And if the hideout in Terragrigia is discovered... if the whole scheme in that city is discovered, they would lose a lot.

He had to communicate with the cruiser. Damn, he had been informed that Grigory was already on the ship, so why the fuck hasn't he...

The door was opened. For a few moments, he thought satisfied that it would be his men returning to inform him that they had taken care of the intruder and had the information he had requested.

But his satisfaction was replaced by surprise, and fear, when he saw that it was the masked man who approached. His clothes looked even bloodier than before, his knife was dripping with blood, he had a rifle on his back and a pistol at his waist.

Dominik's eyes widened as he tried to walk away. The man was approaching too fast for his liking.

"You... but who the fuck are you-" Dominik fell silent as he was hit by a punch to the face. From his throat, a scream echoed through the place almost at the same time as a gunshot. A sharp pain shot through his knee, and he felt his leg fail, his body slamming to the ground.

The agent put the pistol back in his waistband while looking at Dominik. His eyes were focused on his target.

He just had to kill him, that's all. Then he would search for information that was sure to be in those computers, take possession of the cruiser, report everything to his group, and they would take care of sending such information to the BSAA incognito.

However, something caught his attention.

Beside him, the slight noise of breathing, and as he turned around, he felt his body freeze for a few moments when he saw the body that was lying on the stretcher in front of him.

A young boy, not too tall, with brown hair. He was thin, wearing hospital clothes, but what was most striking was his deformed body.

His left leg was slightly longer than his right, muscles pulsed together with black veins. His gray skin was marked with some black parts, his left arm had a stake of bone at the base. His mouth looked widened and his teeth were larger. His eyes were droopy and red, one of them barely visible.

He was alive. He was breathing weakly, a jovial, innocent voice mixed with a thick, monstrous one. It seemed as if he was in constant pain.

Behind him was a woman with her hands and legs bound. She did not appear to be very old, despite her tired and haggard features. She had brown hair, was small, and looked frightened.

The agent shot Dominik another time in the other knee before approaching the stretcher at a slow pace, ignoring his target's cry of pain. His eyes did not leave the mutilated boy.

"Don't go near him... please." The woman said in Spanish, to the agent's surprise. Her voice was weak and low, but loud enough for him to hear.

"He... my son has suffered enough, sir." She said, seeming to force herself to look him in the eye.

A mother and son... both in a pitiful state, the boy then... one could see the pain present in both of them.

This... made his blood boil.

"...Your son is gone, ma'am." Ghost said, also in Spanish, staring at the woman who showed the least reaction. It was not what she wanted to hear, or should have, especially in this state, but it was the truth. In that state, the boy had no way back. "In that state, he's just suffering deeply."

He kept eye contact with the woman for a few moments, until she looked away with tears streaming down her face.

"... Please..." A silent plea, of desperation perhaps, mercy. Something that the agent promptly accomplished.

With his knife, the agent stabbed what was left of the boy in the side of his head, killing him quickly and putting an end to his suffering.

The woman cried softly, she couldn't even lift her head.

Ghost took a deep breath and slowly turned around after removing the blade from the boy's head. His eyes, cold but seemingly burning with blue flames, stared at Dominik on the ground.

His slow steps echoed majestically through the room, his presence frightened Dominik... and he liked it that way.

Already in front of Dominik, the agent crouched slightly, grabbed the man by the shirt, and punched him hard in the face.

"Where's the cruiser?" He asked, landing another punch in Dominik's face, followed by another, and another, giving the man no time to respond.

"Where is the base of your organization?" He asked again, doing something he always knew he would have to do eventually, but always thought he would do only when necessary. He broke the fingers of Dominik's hand, one by one, until when the fingers ran out, he broke his arm.

Dominik's cries of pain echoed through the place. If Ghost looked back, he would see that the woman, although still crying, was looking at him with so much fear in her eyes that it looked like she was looking at a Licker.

"What do you plan to do with the virus?" He didn't need to ask those questions, he had all the answers in those computers... but that was an excuse to do what he was doing.

He wanted to hurt that fucking terrorist, make him suffer like he did to countless other people... that's what he wanted... until Dominik couldn't take it anymore... mission accomplished.

In the end... maybe... he became a little more like the monsters he was up against.
