It hasn't escaped Ruby that she should probably talk to someone about what she knows. After all, if there's one thing she's learned during her travels, it's that she can't do everything on her own. No matter how determined she is to save her friends, she needs help. Even with a head full of memories from the future (and sadly that's not the weirdest thing she's ever heard of), she's just one person.

Of course, that leaves the question of who she should talk to. She can't tell her friends. No matter how much she wants to save them, they'd never believe her right now. The amount of convincing she would have to do would take more time than she has. Plus, she can't bear to tell them about the horrors lying just around the corner right now, not when they're all so innocent and young.

Even Blake, who at this point if Ruby remembers correctly had just recently escaped from the White Fang and her relationship with Adam before coming to Beacon to make a fresh start, seems so much lighter and carefree than Ruby ever remembers her being. No, Ruby won't do that to them. She won't put this burden on them. She'll protect them as long as she can.

So, if telling her friends is a no go, who should she tell? The obvious answer is Ozpin. He already knows most of the things that Ruby does, and he'd believe her. She knows that. And she knows that Ozpin is an incredibly powerful ally who could make a huge difference in how things will turn out. Telling him seems like a no-brainer.

But, well. The truth is, Ruby doesn't want to tell him about what she knows because she doesn't trust him. Especially not right now. At least before, they had Jinn to help reveal some of his secrets, and Oscar to help convince him to trust them with the truth. Right now, she doesn't have any of that, and even with what she knows Ozpin is way more powerful than she is.

What happens if Ozpin decides that he'd rather focus on the big picture, and refuses to let her help her friends in favor of other, more important things? She doesn't know that he would do that for certain, but she also doesn't know that he wouldn't do that. She doesn't trust him not to, and she can't take that kind of risk.

So, Ozpin is out. That means that she shouldn't tell Professor Goodwitch either, since in that case she might as well go straight to Ozpin. The same can be said for the rest of the professors at Beacon.

Her father? From what Yang and Qrow have told her, she's pretty sure that her father knows almost as much as Qrow does about the whole Salem thing. Plus, he's only one call away. Ruby's pretty sure he would believe her.

Then again, Tai hadn't even wanted her to go to Beacon when Ozpin had offered for her to go early. He'd argued against it, insisting she was too young and that it was too dangerous. He'd be horrified to know that she planned to fight Salem and her forces, and he'd try to keep her out of things as much as possible. No, as much as she loves him, telling her dad isn't going to happen.

Who does that leave, then? The answer comes to mind just seconds later, and Ruby feels a bit dense for not thinking of him sooner. Qrow. She should tell Qrow.

Her uncle might be hard to get in touch with sometimes, but there's no question in Ruby's mind that he would believe her. And although Qrow works closely with Ozpin, her uncle would hear her out first before going to anyone else. Qrow knows almost everything that Ozpin does, and he's a powerful hunter who Ruby's looked up to her whole life. If anyone can help her, it'll be him.

While Yang is getting ready for bed, Ruby pulls out her scroll and stares at it, chewing her lip as she tries to think of what she should say. She can't call Qrow; she's pretty sure she remembers him saying that he's leaving for a long term mission after he'd congratulated her for getting into Beacon. He's probably searching for the Fall Maiden, if Ruby remembers how things went last time correctly.

If only she knew anything about the Fall Maiden that could help him with the search. But Ruby doesn't know anything about the previous Fall Maiden before Cinder took her powers. No, she'll have to leave that up to Qrow.

So she can't call Qrow right now, but she can send him a message that he'll hopefully see before too long. She won't put anything in the message that could give away anything important; no, she'll just ask him to call her when he has a chance. "Hey, I hope things are going well with your mission," she types into her scroll. "There's something I really need to talk to you about, so please call me when you get a chance. It's about the Story of the Seasons. Love you! Ruby."

The last part, about the Story of the Seasons, won't stand out to anyone who doesn't already know; it'll just seem like a young niece asking her uncle something about a story from when she was little. But hopefully Qrow will pick up the hint about the Maidens, and take Ruby's request for him to call her a bit more seriously.

Looking over the message one more time, she can't spot anything that needs to be changed. Ruby doesn't even realize that she was holding her breath until she lets it out after pressing send. Now, there's nothing left to do but wait, and hope that her first attempt to change things will work out.

Hopefully, Qrow will call back soon. In the meantime, Ruby has a team to bring together again.
