Author's Note

Had to do a rewrite before I published this, but there might be errors I didn't find. As for the present day, it takes place after the finale.

"We should have listened to you". It was Ruby saying that to Glint. What a mistake that turned out to be. Walder, or Beezen as he was really called, has them locked in a dungeon. At first all seemed great, Beezen threated them like royalty. It turned out he was planning a spell to erase their memories and turn them into obedient slaves. With Glint getting more suspicious each day, he decided to drop the act and currently had them trapped in energy bubbles.

They tried breaking free, but to no avail.

Ruby sighed. "We're sorry we didn't listen Glint, this is the wedding all over again, except it's us now".

Chase was trying hard to escape. "Let us go! We don't want our memories erased"!

Beezen sneered. "But it will benefit you so much better. You won't have to relive any more bad memories".

Burning Apple wasn't hearing this, his main focus was escaping. "You can't do this ta us"!

"I can and I will. When I'm done, the six of you come to my spell room and I'll find jobs for you all to do".

With that said Beezen left the 6 whose minds were beginning to be corrupted by his spell.

Panicking, the little dragons tried harder to escape.

Flaming being the first to spoke. "We got to escape, whoever you five are called".

Blue again apologised to Glint. "Flint, I think. We should have listened to you".

Glint looked confused. "About what".

Chase took over the apology. "About… something".

Burning spoke then. "Do ya mean listening to a'r dad".

Ruby blinked in confusion. "We have a daddy".

Burning blinked then. "Who are you... Who am I"?

Suddenly, the 6 were freed from their imprisonment. Only so they could now serve Breezen. They went to where he earlier ordered. Beezen was looking through a book. "My little dragons. You serve me and only me. Don't ask who you are or who the one beside you are, it doesn't matter".

They nodded.

"Here's your jobs".

Ruby was ordered to tidy up his manor, Flaming Pie was to make him food, Burning Apple along with Chase were to do manual jobs and Blue was to be the lookout. As for Glint, Breezen wanted to keep him close, he suspected he might be similar to his mother and wanted to keep that sort of power close. He was only using them for small jobs now, he had other plans when they would grow. 4 days would pass and they served with no memory. But that would soon be over.

In Equestria Twilight could not believe what she learned. All these years, she thought Spike ran away. She blamed herself, so did her friends, so did Candence and Shining. And it turned out he didn't run away; he was taken from her. One day a pony turned himself in for kidnapping Spike the dragon. It didn't take long for word to reach throughout all of Equestria. The Mane 6 personally interrogated him themselves. After all these years, it was revealed what Beezen did. They were shocked by what they were told. About Spike's growth spurt. About their stolen DNA. As for Beezen. None had any clue to his whereabouts. It was probably for the best, they didn't know where Beezen was, but they knew where to find him, thanks to the pony.

"Poor Spikey, all those years, alone and terrified". To Rarity, Spike was one of her greatest friends. Besides Twilight, she took his disappearance the hardest.

"I never should have left Spike by himself".

Rainbow tried to comfort the princess. "It's not your fault Twi, he didn't run away, he was taken".

"If I had taken him to the Crystal Empire with us, he wouldn't have been taken".

"We all didn't appreciate the little guy until he wasn't in a'r lives no more".

Pinkie agreed with Applejack. "I've been wanting to throw him a big 'I'm sorry party' for so long".

Fluttershy spoke next. "We searched for months before giving up, we thought he didn't want to be found. Now we know the truth".

"I have to see him again, only one more time, to let him know how much he meant to me, how much I appreciated him and tell him I'm sorry".

Rarity was wondering. "What about your princess duties, I agree Spike is more important, but someone needs to look after things".

"I asked Celestia and Luna to take over temporarily, I felt bad asking them to come out of retirement but when I told them what happened, they agreed without a second thought.

Rainbow Dash sighed. "I guess I'm going to have to say it, since no one else will". Applejack looked annoyed. "What are ya talking about".

"Have you forgotten they used us without asking us to make dragon eggs with Spike? We've all been so focused on what happened to Spike, we seem to have forgot that we apparently have sons or daughters we never knew about. How do we deal with them?

Applejack spent a few seconds going over this in her head. "We're all mothers! A'm a mother. "I'm a mother"!

Pinkie wasn't bothered. "I have a son, although I would like to introduce the little guy to his dragon sibling".

Rarity sighed. "We have no idea if they hatched or not".

Ignoring her, Fluttershy gasped. "I have a baby dragon. What will I feed them? Is it a boy or a girl? How will I introduce myself? What if they don't like me"!

Rainbow tried to calm an overthinking Fluttershy. "Relax. Deep breaths. Besides you'll probably be afraid of them when they get older". Rainbow regretted saying that when she got the stare from Fluttershy in return.

"Girls I have an idea. Remember how Breezen put a spell on Spike, making it impossible for me to track him". The other 5 nodded. "We do have the location of Beezen. We can make him tell us where Spike is".

Rarity gasped. "That's brilliant".

Rainbow again brought up the subject. "What about… our dragons? Ask Spike for weekend custody".

Twilight was uncomfortable with the thought of the baby dragon. Spike was like her brother, sharing a son or daughter seemed odd and partly disturbing. It's not the dragon's fault though, that all lies with that wizard. That could be dealt with later. For now, Twilight teleported them to the manor or tried to.

They ended up teleporting in some random place in the forest. Twilight tried again, but they ended up in the same place. "It seems Beezen cast a spell that prevents others from directly teleporting to his manor or nearby".

Rarity was concerned. "How are we going to find the place".

Fluttershy looked around and saw a bird making a nest. "Leave that to me".

After asking for directions, it took a bit of walking, although Rainbow was flying in her case. They soon saw the manor with their own eyes.

"What a lovely building, not something you'd expect to find in the forest". Applejack rolled her eyes. "We're here ta find what we can about Spike". Rarity huffed. "I didn't forget, quite frankly, I can't wait to give this Beezen a piece of my mind". Pinkie was getting excited. "So how are we going to do this? Sneak in through the roof or find a secret passage". Twilight shook her head. "I was simply going to knock on the door and begin asking questions". Pinkie pouted. "Boring"!

Little did they know that Bleu reported their sighting to Beezen who was now looking at them through his orb. He was quick to hide his little dragons, ordering them to keep quiet and to stay out of sight. And he used his power to transform himself into a pony, a unicorn specifically, getting ready to answer the door.

As the 6 were outside the door, before Applejack could knock, Beezen opened it in his disguise. "Greetings ponies, what can I do for you".

Twilight looked at her friends and back. "My name is Twilight Sparkle, princess of Equestria. Sorry to bother you, do you by chance know someone called Beezen"?

"Equestria? That sure is faraway. As for your question, there was someone called Beezen that lived here once, but he's long gone. I wouldn't be anywhere near here if he was".

The girls looked at each other. To Twilight it made sense, the incident would have happened a few years ago, living here once didn't mean he lived here now. Rarity and Fluttershy shared the same sentiment. Rainbow assumed he was some coward who ran away. Applejack however didn't seem convinced about his words and Pinkie's Pinkie sense didn't buy it either.

Applejack asked the next question. "Ya wouldn't know anything about a purple dragon or wee dragons, would ya"?

"No, should I? You should ask that Beezen character, I heard he did some experiments with creatures he took".

3 of them continued to fall for his lies. Pinkie and Applejack, weren't falling for it. And Twilight, she could sense something, that a spell was used recently. Suddenly Pinkie ran into the house, past Breezen.

Fluttershy gasped. "Pinkie! You can't just barge into someone's house"!

"It's not Pinkie"! The pink mare put on a detective hat. "It's detective Pinkie"!

He turned to Twilight. "We're not in Equestria, you have no jurisdiction here, you can't simply barge into my house because you feel like it".

Twilight quickly apologised. "I'm really sorry". She looked past the pony and glared at Pinkie. "Pinkie come back out here"!

Applejack spoke next. "Ah have to agree with Pinkie, I'm not for bursting into someone's house, but I think he's not been totally honest with us".

That won over the others.

The cyan pegasus voicing her opinion. "That's all I need to hear. If Applejack says he's lying, then he has to be lying". Twilight and Fluttershy were now convinced. Twilight would need proof before openly accusing him though.

Beezen looked annoyed. More so because, they weren't falling for it. "Do you really think I'm going to let you snoop around my whole manor".

Although his reluctance was making them more suspicious, Twilight couldn't confront him on that, after all anyone would be upset about this. Twilight tried the diplomatic approach. "We're not going to look through your entire home. Just want to take a quick look is all. I mean it's not like you have anything to hide".

Beezen did not like this, he didn't have time to think of good hiding spots. He hid them all behind a fake wall.

They followed the pink mare who found a table with a sheet over it. Taking it off, she yelled, "AHA"! Only to find nothing there.

They followed the pink mare into the hallway, who was using her magnifying glass when she came across a half-mopped floor. "AHA! This floor is only half mopped! How do you explain this"!

She was right, Ruby was mopping the floor before he hid her, but coming up with an excuse wasn't hard. "I was mopping the floor, when I sensed guests coming, so I rushed to see if everything was okay".

Twilight believed that made sense, but she continued to be unsure. Pinkie and Applejack were both convinced he was hiding something. Even if it could be dismissed as Pinkie Pie, being Pinkie Pie, Applejack wouldn't accuse him of lying if he wasn't.

They followed Pinkie into the kitchen who found her next clue. "AHA! Look at this"! She found a tray with food, only for the girls, Pinkie included to react in disgust. There was a cupcake with wiggling worms in it, a dead rat and raisins.

Rainbow thought she was going to barf at the sight of the raisins. Rarity was more disturbed by the other 2. "Please don't tell me, this is what you were going to eat".

"What I eat is my own concern, I was about to chow down before you interfered". He was telling the truth; it was food that Flaming Pie had arranged for him. However, it conflicted with an earlier lie that Pinkie was quick to point out.

"Hold on a sec. Weren't you mopping the floor, hardly the best time for lunch, perhaps for a snack but all this".

Beezen tried again to cover it up. "I was mopping, decided I needed a break and was about to have a big lunch when I sensed you coming".

The mane 6 looked at him suspiciously. Pinkie again used her magnifying glass, leading them into another hallway, where she spotted a chair halfway in a doorway.

Beezen spoke before she did. "If you say 'AHA' one more time, I'm kicking you out".

"This is a very odd place for a chair".

Beezen was quick in his reply. "I was moving it". It was actually Chase and Burns doing manual labour.

She gave him a suspicious look. "So, you moved the chair, only to decide halfway through to mop the floor before deciding then to have lunch".

Beezen knew it was pointless to keep lying, so he decided to change the subject all together. "Did you find what you were looking for"?

He was looking at Fluttershy, taking advantage of making her uncomfortable. "Well, not really".

"How much more of my manor do I have to let you look through, before you leave".

Rainbow got in his face. "Try the whole place".

"Enough. You barge into my home, accuse me, insult me, what is it you are trying to find"?

Twilight sighed. "We thought we could find something about Spike or some baby dragons".

Breezen feigned surprise. "Did you say Spike"?

Twilight nodded.

"I met him".

Rarity's eyes widened. "You have"?

Applejack could tell he was telling the truth and nodded, making them forget their suspicious. It was the farm pony who enquired. "What can ya tell us"?

"Not much, I only met him once in my life". Beezen was technically telling the truth about meeting him once. He didn't meet Spike again after his escape. I don't think you'll be seeing him again".

Twilight frowned. "What do you mean"?

"I'm being honest when I say this. He's dead".

The girls all looked at each other in horror by the news. Applejack was so shocked that he seemed to mean it. Meaning it was true.

Tears went down Twilight's cheek first, then the same thing happened to the other 5. Then they all burst into tears. Beezen gave a look of sympathy but inside he was pleased. They would finally leave him alone.

Rarity sniffed. "He's lying. Applejack. Tell us he's lying"!

Applejack was struggling to get words out. "H-he's telling us, 'pant' the truth".

Beezen spoke again. "I know it's hard to hear".

Fluttershy replied. "Thanks for 'sniff' telling us".

Pinkie's mane was deflated from the awful news. They could never apologise to Spike. She wanted to have a party for Spike, but now it seemed it would be a funeral.

Twilight could only think one thing. This was all her fault. She was thrilled at the thought of Spike coming back into her life, but now it would never happen. "Come on girls, 'sniff' let's go".

The miserable 6 were heading towards heading through the hall towards the exit. To the left of the exit was a one-way hallway. All that was at the end was a big picture of Beezen in his original form. The girls figured out that too, and wondered why that picture continued to be here, but they didn't question their host about the picture, their emotions overcome by grief. Twilight without a word ran towards it with Breezen trying desperately to get her to come back.

She looked at the picture. "You took Spike from me".

Her emotion then turned to anger. "I'll never forgive you"! Twilight actually tried punching the picture with her hoof. Only to go through the picture. "What the"?

The other girls rushed over, ignoring protests from Beezen. They removed the picture and saw it led to another room.

And they were shocked at what they found. 6 little dragons, who didn't react to them. Even when they went to pick them up. Returning through the picture, they glared at Beezen who was returning the glare in fury. "Those dragons are mine"!

Twilight said nothing for a second, before finally speaking in a very calm tone. "You're Beezen, aren't you."?

Beezen turned into his original self. "Took you long enough to figure it out. My little dragons, run"!

Obeying their order, they hopped of the ponies' backs and made a run.

Twilight turned to her friends. "You get them, I have unfinished business"!

Nodding they did that, leaving alone Twilight and Beezen. After a few seconds of silence, Twilight spoke again. "You murdered Spike, he was my best friend, my little brother!

Beezen sneered. "All you did was threat him like garbage. I saw some visions from his past. I got to say, letting him fall into water in the middle of winter. Personally, I found it amusing but was quite surprised that it happened because you ponies let it happen".

Twilight sighed. "I admit there were times I could have treated him better. But me and him had plenty of good memories too".

"I'm aware. I was careful to only show the young reptiles the ones that made you look bad".

Twilight glared. "So, that's why they listen to you".

"No, no. I simply erased their memories and turned them into my slaves".

Twilight gasped. "That's horrible"!

Beezen chuckled. "Is it only alright for you to own slaves"?

"He was not my slave; he was my assistant".

"That you treated poorly".

"I have my regrets and I could understand if he never would have forgiven me, like I'll never forgive you for killing him.

Beezen shook his head. "I had no involvement in that. I could prove my innocence if you asked the little dragons, I probably did them a favour making them forget that happened".

Twilight had enough of this. "You're under arrest and will answer for your crimes".

Beezen got defensive. "You hold no authority here"! He tried using his wand on the ponies but was easily overpowered by Twilight and knocked out by her blast.

"Consider this your extradition".

She went to see how her friends were doing and was surprised by the current results.

The 5 of them, including Pinkie were tired out and Rarity was using her horn to form a barrier to keep the dragons inside. They were trying really hard to escape and poor Rarity was exhausted.

Twilight used her magic, to tire them out. They weren't hurt, simply asleep.

Fluttershy was concerned. "What's going on. They're following his orders very seriously".

Beezen said he erased their memories and reforged them into his slaves.

Rarity gasped. "How horrific".

Applejack turned to Twilight. "Can ya fix it".

Twilight nodded. Her friends sighed in relief.

Rainbow was wondering. "What are you going to do with that Beezen guy".

Twilight almost forgot about him. "He will stand trial for many crimes".

Applejack glared. "Like dragon napping".

Rainbow nodded. "And his crazy experiments".

Fluttershy gave the stare, thinking of him. "And harming little dragons".

Pinkie added her bit. "Don't forget enslavement".

Rarity took a breath. "And murder".

Twilight looked unsure. "He claimed he had no involvement in that".

Rainbow shrugged. "He's a liar, he's simply lying".

"He claimed that the young dragons could testify themselves that he had nothing to do with it if they got their memories back".

Rarity was concerned. "If he didn't then what happened to out Spikey".

Rainbow looked at the dragons. "We can simply ask them".

Twilight sighed. "We will need to build their trust. Breezen said he showed them his worst memories with us".

Pinkie looked sad. "You mean leaving him behind while we party at the Crystal Empire"?

"Probably. And other things like him at the Winter Wrap Up".

Rainbow quickly got defensive. "It was some harmless fun".

Twilight sighed. "It should never have been allowed to happen. Fun's fun, but he got sick after, I was his caretaker".

Rarity looked like she would burst into tears. "What happened has happened. We took him for granted and now we can never apologise. It breaks my heart thinking about it".

Fluttershy spoke next. "And it will devastate those back home to know that he's dead".

Pinkie had a question. "What are you all going to do with your little dragons, I plan to raise my daughter. I know Cheese will take her in and my little boy will love having a little sister".

Applejack nodded. "Although he's a dragon, he's mah own son".

Twilight agreed. "They are all we have left of Spike; we need them as much as they need us".
