This took really long... Pls watch the One Piece live action series on Netflix, it is a masterpiece! Thanks to my brother becoming a fan of Spy X Family, i have an idea for a story but it's gonna be a while. Once i finish or pause these reaction stories, I'll finish up my female venom story and the lego miko. I need to change the lego miko story to something not lego, I saw a lot of pictures of lego monkie kid that are none lego... \(ω\ ). P.S. I'm sorry for any misspellings or grammar errors...
The scene starts as Garp has Luffy fight 3 large gorillas, he tried using his devil fruit to throw a punch but punched himself.
Katsuki found it funny but not much of the others, "bro, it's not manly to laugh at that." Kirishima said.
Garp called for a break, Luffy told his grandpa something important. Which is being the pirate king, the marine hero looked furious. "This is that Red Hair's influence!" He then covered Luffy's face with the hat again before pulling his arm free from the tree, "Get out of the way you!" he barked at the gorilla, before holding Luffy up, "I've gotta knock some sense into this kid's corrupted mind!"
It was difficult to watch this guy discipline his grandson with his fist of love.
The scenery reappeared, and they saw that they were all still in the forest, but now there was Garp who was carrying Luffy piggy back down a hill. The sun setting in the distance—casting everything in a warm, golden glow as they passed the trees, obviously heading back to the village.
It was so beautiful and peaceful.
Luffy had a thick bandage on his forehead and a clogged up bloody nose as he stared to doze off, his stomach was roaring with hunger. Luffy blinked with sleepy eyes as Garp smiled, "Even after tiring yourself out and falling asleep your stomach is still as active as it always is!" he proclaimed.
"He's not going to inherit that appetite right?" Sir nighteye asked.
"No, he has a normal stomach but he will sometimes forget about it..." Joanne sighed.
Garp shook his head softly and went on, "You probably hate me for being such a strict granddad, but Luffy..." He mutters, "the reason I put you through this harsh training… and want you to be a Marine, is because I don't want you to go down the wrong path. That is my wish."
"Why can't he be supportive of his dream?" Kirishima asked.
"He's afraid when people find out about Luffy's father and being a pirate is a good excuse to kill him." Joanne answered.
Everyone remembered Robin's past, "that's not fair..." Hado muttered.
"I think we all established that the pirate world has more unfairness than ours..." Aizawa gaze down.
Garp was staring up at the darkening sky before he sighed and hoisted Luffy up a little higher on his back. "Oi, Luffy," he said as he continued down the hill, "I have a treat for you today! The Navy left us plenty of food! You can eat as much as your favorite meat as you want!" He then burst out laughing as Luffy's tiny hand gripped his shirt a little tighter.
It was adorable... "I guess he has his moments to be a good grandfather..." Kendo said.
"He still gives me nightmares." Shoda said.
"I don't blame you." Sen said.
The scene changes to the 2 trudging up a mountain, "Leaving you in that peaceful village was a mistake," Garp said as they walked along a fallen tree, that was acting as a bridge, over a small river. "Of all things, the Pirate King?!"
"What's going on?" Jozu asked.
"Garp decided to bring Luffy away from the village and train with... Some people he knows..." Joanne sighed.
'why do I get the feeling this is where Luffy gets his bad habits?' many thought.
"You imbecile!" Garp exclaimed, pinching his face harder just as Luffy reached out and grabbed one of the passing trees and wrapped his rubber arms all the way around the trunk as Garp walked on without any idea to what was happening. "Becoming friends with that damn Red-Hair Shanks is completely unacceptable!"
"I'm gonna become..." Luffy started, refusing to let go of the tree and ended up uprooting it and slamming it at the back of Garp's head. Finally causing him to let go, "as strong as shanks!" He finished stubbornly, still hanging onto the tree like a monkey even after it had been snapped in 2 after hitting his grandpa.
Everyone sweatdrop, 'so stubborn...' they thought.
"You'll be living here with Dadan and the boys until you and Ace become strong Marines." His grandfather went on with Luffy walking beside him.
"Dadan?" Luffy repeated grumpily.
"That's right," he answered, and they could all tell from his tone that this was decided and no amount of whining or complaining was going to change it. "From now on, this is where you'll be living."
"Who's Dadan?" Bondo asked.
"You'll find out..." Joanne sighed.
"Wait, Ace lives with this person!? So we're going to see Ace!?" Setsuna asked with a blush, almost everyone was excited to watch how Luffy and Ace became brothers.
"That means we'll also see Sabo, that's really cool!" Pony said.
But a few noticed joanne and her friends just stared at the screen with a far away look, 'something is up...' nezu thought drinking his tea.
The 2 argued the whole way, "Grandpa, who's Ace?" Luffy asked.
"Starting today, he's going to be your big brother," Garp answered, but his tone had become a little more gentle. A few minutes later, they reached a small house in the middle of a large clearing. A decent size place with a watchtower in the back with a line of clothing hung to the nearest tree—it looked like a handful of people lived there…
"What-" Awase started.
"The-" Kamakiri said.
"Heck!?" Manga finished.
"That looks like a dump, very bad living conditions..." Fatgum said.
"Don't tell me this is where Dadan lives!?" Power loader asked.
"Wait, why does Dadan live like this?" Hawks grew suspicious, this screamed isolated people.
Luffy stared up at it in bright curiosity before he went running around to get a better look at it. As he started to explore, Garp walked on ahead and banged on the door. The front door opened and they were all taken aback when it was a woman who answered it. But not just any woman… a rather tall and overweight woman with long, orange, curly hair and a big, masculine face—there was cigarette held between her lips as she had thrown open the door, yelling out, "So annoying! Who's the reckless daredevil?!"
"It's me," Garp answered darkly.
At his voice, the woman's eyes snapped open and she backed away in fear, stammering, "G-Garp-san!" A few men came out from the hut and looked scared of Garp.
Everyone notices these people are... "Pls don't tell me... Are those mountain bandits?" All might asked and prayed his wrong.
Joanne nodded, "so let me get this straight, he left both Ace and Luffy to live with mountain bandits in order for them to become marines? Does he know how stupid that sounds!?" Recovery girl is very angry.
"I know... These bandits are only theives who steal and pounced on weaker people to rob, the only one thing they taught the kids is to survive on their own." Diamond rubbed her forehead because of the headache.
"So we all agree even Garp is pretty stupid..." Cementoss said and everyone agrees.
"You seem to be doing well." Garp said conversationally.
"You got to be kidding me!" Dadan called out just as Luffy began to run around them, looking at everything with bright eyes. "I wish you'd just leave me alone for a change! That Ace is already 10 yrs old you know!"
"Wait, they raised Ace!?" Ryukyu looked very surprised.
"Yes, and surprisingly they kinda did a good job. But Ace rather be a pirate than a marine." Stella said.
"It actually sounds brilliant, but how did Garp know Ace's existence?" Shoto asked.
"Right before Roger's execution, he asked Garp to watch over his kid. Garp is probably 1 of the few marines who knows never to blame a child for their parent's actions, it's a brilliant idea to hide him with the mountain bandits." Joanne explained and everyone was surprised by this.
Garp chuckled at that and asked, "Is he? Has it really been that long already? How's he doing?"
"It's nothing to laugh at." the short man called out as Garp began to laugh. "If he gets any wilder, we won't be able to control him at all! Just take him with you!"
Everyone was very surprised, "maybe it's because he was raised by them his wild." Izuku suggested.
"That's only partially true." Vivi scratch her chin.
Garp reached out and grabbed Luffy when he ran by and held him up so that they could see him, "Take care of him too," he said bluntly.
"Now come on, Luffy, say hello."
"Yo!" He greeted and hold up his hand in greeting.
Garp answered that Luffy is his grandson and the bandits are completely stunned, "we gotta take care of another one!?"
Garp crossed his arms as Luffy went running around exploring again. "Well," Garp said as he let Luffy back down and he ran around wildly, "you have to make your decision. Do you want to spend the rest of your lives behind bars… or will you raise him?"
... "Are you shitting me right now!?" Aizawa looked very angry, "he's practically blackmailing these criminals to watch and raised kids!? What the fuck is wrong with him!?"
"No wonder they don't want to be marines, Garp is completely stupid! He doesn't tell them the advantages and positive when becoming a marine, he scarred his own and leaves them to bandits!? That's not becoming a marine! That's the exact opposite!" Present Mic ranted.
"Watching this is making me lose some brain cells..." Sir nighteye sighed.
"Garp is a good marine but he abuses his power as he sees fit, he doesn't look his actions caused his grandchildren to rebel against him and refuses to spend time with him." Nezu sighed and drink his tea to try and reduce his headache.
"Garp is the worst grandpa ever..." Komori sighed.
"He's just very stupid, the worst would be someone who very much dislikes their grandchildren." Megumi said.
Garp was speaking again, "I've turned a blind eye so far. But you've committed as many crimes as here are stars in the sky."
The bandits are conflicted by this, "And now you want us to take your grandson too?! I'm sure that kid's just as much of a monster, isn't he?!" Dadan suddenly cried out.
"What a crappy looking mountain hut." Luffy said bluntly.
Most of the audience laughed, katsuki found it fucking hilarious. "He's more blunt than Tsuyu!" Mina giggled.
Dadan had heard him and yelled out, "You want to die, you brat?!"bToo bad for her a couple dragonflies buzzed passed and Luffy was completely distracted as he went running after them, "He's not listening!" She cried out and fell forward, her henchmen were worried.
"He's attention span is everywhere but nowhere." Gran torino commented.
Then someone spits at Luffy's face, "Hey! You! Apologize! That's gross!" he yelled out sounding angry.
Garp turns to him, "oh! Ace!" He began to walk over to them, 1 of the bandits greeted him. A young boy, looking no older than ten or eleven years old was sitting on the dead body of animal. Familiar black hair and stretch of freckles were splashed across his cheeks and nose… his body was rigid as he looked down at Luffy with his arms folded and holding a long metal pole, but it was his eyes that sent chills up their spines. His eyes were dark and cold and filled with an anger that seemed so deep that it was beyond rage… hatred.
Everyone was completely stunned, this isn't the Ace back in alabasta port. This Ace is way different, "those eyes..." Ibara shivered.
"What happened to him...?" All might felt disturbed by this.
Luffy demanded Ace to apologize but the older kid just glared down at him coldly as if daring him to take another step forward, Garp's heavy footsteps were sounded and they turned to see him standing next to Luffy and saying. "Luffy, that's Ace." He smiled up at Ace and finished, "He's three years older than you. Starting today, you're going to be living with these people, so you better get along, got it?"
"Garp pls don't leave him there..." Momo said.
Dadan didn't want this but Garp is very scary when mad, "My business here is done then!" He said as they looked back to Ace's cold features. "I'll come to visit when I have the time!"
"This was stupid, leaving those kids to mountain bandits who don't even want them there." Kirishima said.
"Don't forget Luffy rarely listens to anyone but Makino." Sero said.
"Apologize!" Luffy yelled at Ace one more time, but predictably, Ace just walked right past him without saying a word. It was clear on his face that he felt it wasn't worth the trouble.
"I wonder how Luffy was able to worm his way to Ace's heart?" Sato questioned.
Luffy entered the hut and a knife came out of nowhere and was pointed at he's neck, it was a bandit who didn't overhear about what happened. He threatened him to give him all his money.
Everyone blinked, "does luffy carry any money?" Monoma asked.
"No, he's flat out broke. The village usually feeds him as a thank you to Garp for protecting their home." Kimiko answered.
"Besides, Luffy is terrible when it comes to money..." Joanne sighed.
Luffy told the bandit he has a grandfather and Dadan revealed who he is, "Why'd you take him?!"
"This isn't a nursery school you know!"
"Boss, you're totally gutless!"
Dadan then came back in with a giant plate of meat and yelled out, "Shut it, you scumbags!" There are more bandits in the little hut, "It's time for dinner!" she added, pointing to all the food. At that, drool came down from the other bandits faces as they launched themselves at the meat. As they watched them devour the meat like a pack of animals, Luffy raced over too, only to get stepped on.
Everyone sweatdrop, "this explains a fucking lot!" Katsuki shouted.
"Well, they are selfish bastards... Poor Luffy has to fight for his meal and steal it." Tetsutetsu said.
"I wish he didn't have to steal from their plate though, it's selfish of him to do that to his crew." Jurota said and fixed his glasses.
"And bad manners." Yui added.
In the end, it was Luffy, Ace and Dadan who were sitting around a fire in the center of the room. Ace was devouring some of the meat he stole earlier, while Dadan sipped some sake. Luffy frowned at the small bowl of rice in his hand, he swallowed the contents in 1 go before he yelled out, "I want another bowl!" But when no one else noticed him he said, "Pops, I want another bowl!"
"I'm a woman!" She yelled at him.
"Looks like manners is practically useless." Reiko said.
"True, but sometimes people listen to you if you use manners. It's a sign of respect to one another." Cementoss said.
"This is the hideout of the mountain bandits who rule Mt. Corvo, the Dadan Family!" Dadan explains in a dark voice.
"Mountain bandits? I hate mountain bandits." Luffy said with a dull look on his face.
"We were almost killed by one, so yeah." Mirio said.
Everyone agreed, "the bandits Luffy encountered were close to junk town." Joanne explained.
"Junk town?" Toru asked.
"There is windmill village, junk town and a kingdom on the island."
"Then why isn't Garp living in the kingdom since he's a marine hero?" Momo asked.
"Because everyone who lives in that forsaken kingdom are scums..." Diamond said in an angry and dark voice.
Everyone jumps at her quick answer, 'is it really that bad!?' they thought.
Dadan responded by sticking a knife into the floor in front of him, "Shut it, you damn brat!" she yelled at him. "It's already a pain in the ass raising you! If you don't want to be here, that's fine by us! Just go somewhere and die like an animal!"
"But isn't she in charge of taking care of Luffy?" Koda asked.
"As long as Luffy is alive, Garp won't send them to jail and Luffy finds his grandfather scarier than them." Megumi said and everyone agreed.
"I'm still hungry," Luffy whined, before glancing up at all the meat that Ace was scarfing down and drool was forming on his mouth. "I want some of that meat…" Dadan then held out a piece of it and Luffy tried to take a bite out of it, only for her to pull it away so that he chomped down on air.
"Ok, that's down right mean." Ochako said.
"I'll have you know that this meat is the meat Ace hunted and brought back!" She told Luffy as she began chowing down on it herself. "He shares it with us and that's why he gets a place at our table! The life of a mountain bandit is harsh! Starting tomorrow, we're going to work you half to death! Cleaning! Laundry! Shoe and weapon polishing! Theft, looting, swindling, and killing! And listen… you're not gonna say a single word to Garp about the stuff we make you do!"
"Why do I get the feeling Luffy did none of those?" Kyoka asked.
"Because he didn't, Luffy never does any chores. He's very bad at it, the village tried to teach him but it turns out being bad at chores is hereditary. Garp is terrible at it." Anita sighed.
"Wait, you can be really bad at chores!?" Denki asked in shock.
"One bowl of rice and one glass of water a day!" Dadan continued, "That's all I'm giving you. Anything else you'll have to get for yourself. You'll have to raise yourself to be strong," she said with a smug smile.
"Alright." Luffy said and this cause her to fall face 1st on the floor.
"You're fine with it?!" Dadan cried startled, "You should be crying by now!"
He didn't look the least bit surprised by anything she said. "Granddad threw me into the jungle once. Earthworms, snakes, frogs, mushrooms… if this is a jungle than I'll be just fine!"
Everyone had blank faces remembering what Garp did to Luffy, "yeah, he's gonna be just fine..." Snipe sighed.
"Besides," he carried on, "I'm gonna be a pirate someday! So I've gotta deal with at least this much!" Ace looked over at Luffy for the briefest moment before he stood up and headed to the door, as the other bandits tried to pull Dadan's head out of the floor. Luffy looked up to see Ace just as he walked out, "Where's he going?" Luffy asked himself before he jumped up and went after him just as Dadan yelled after him, which of course he ignored. "Hey!" Luffy called just as Ace shut the door behind him, leaving everything in darkness.
"It's the middle of the night, they both should be sleeping!" Tenya shouted.
"What's he doing?" Midnight asked.
"Well Ace wants to go see Sabo while Luffy is following him since Garp declared them brothers." Joanne answered, "he's technically alone, he doesn't like being alone..." Everyone looked at her.
Luffy stopped for a moment, staring blankly at the door in front of him, as if wondering what he should do. Then he shook his head before nodding determinedly and pushing the door open, "Hey!" He called again, running outside and chasing after Ace, "Wait up! Hey!" The 10 year old finally turned around and glared down at Luffy with those angry looking eyes.
"Why is Ace like this?" Hound dog pondered.
"Well Ace has trust issues and Luffy is an issue, he doesn't know him and doesn't want to be friends with him. He thinks Luffy is a whiny baby which is partially true." Joanne answered, the dog hero decided to take notes of Ace's attitude and maybe it will help why Ace is like this besides raised by mountain bandits.
But Luffy didn't seem to notice as he waved and called up happily, "I'm Luffy! I'm not angry that you spat at me anymore! It's nothing to get worked up about! Let's be friends!" Ace just stared at the small boy, a blank mask on his face. "Are you going somewhere?" Ace turned and kicked the tree he was closest to: the first kick broke it as it slowly fell and landed with a crash, the second kick he aimed it towards Luffy so that it went rolling towards him.
"What the fuck!?" Many gawk.
"With a single kick!?" Ectoplasm is very baffled.
"Umm, everyone..." Tamaki got their attention, "isn't he trying to kill Luffy?"
"He's actually trying to get rid of him, thanks to his devil fruit. Luffy will be fine, although he's going to keep following Ace..." Joanne answered.
'why do I get the feeling this is where he gets the determination to not accept refusals?' aizawa thought.
Luffy screamed in panic before he turned and ran as fast as he could down the hill as the tree came barreling towards him, he ran until he came to a giant rock and he screamed out. "A dead end?!" And with a crash, the tree hit him and he was flattened against tree and stone. He tried to pull himself out from under the tree, and kept following Ace. He went chasing after Ace and onto a rickety old bridge that stretched over a large gorge, Ace was already halfway across by the time that Luffy stepped on. Realizing that someone else was there, he turned and looked taken-aback to see Luffy there. It quickly vanished though, replaced with an annoyed frown as he turned and began to walk toward Luffy who was gasping for breath, he straightened up and smiled—obviously thinking that Ace was finally going to talk to him. But the older boy held the metal pole tightening and he charged forward, striking Luffy hard enough to knock him off the bridge.
Everyone just gawk and knew Luffy survive that, "this is hard to watch, ribbit." Tsuyu said.
Luffy was falling—screaming the whole way as Ace just stared coldly after him before carrying on his way, the scene changes to Luffy stumbling through the forest. His body was scratched and bruised; he was also covered in dirt and blood. His clothes were torn, he had several nasty gashes on his chest and shoulders, one of his eyes was bloody and swollen and there was a cut on his forehead that was still bleeding.
"Talk about rough but it does remind us the times Garp left him in the jungle." Shoto winced.
As Luffy got closer to the hut, the white dog that was sleeping outside woke up with a start, and began barking. A few minutes later, the little man called Dogra looked out sleepily to tell the mutt to be quiet. When he saw who it was he yelled out, "Boss! Boss Dadan!" the mountain bandits were very shocked Luffy came back, turns out he's been missing a whole week.
"A WEEK!?" Many shouted.
"That's longer than Garp put him through!" Izuku shouted.
"Wait, isn't Luffy terrible at directions?" Mina asked.
Almost everyone groans, "I hope that doesn't passed onto mirio..." Sir nighteye sighed.
"I was chased around by wolves at the bottom of the valley," said Luffy tiredly, his face stretched out.
"So that's why he's so injured!" Sero shouted.
"I don't believe he was chased by them before I believe." Tokoyami asked.
"No, Garp trained him in the forest away from wild animals." Joanne said.
"The bottom of the valley?" Dogra repeated in shock, "Why'd you go there?"
"I don't know, why not ask the jerk face who did it!" Kyoka snapped, not liking young Ace at all.
"Well, in any case, it's a good thing he's safe," Dogra said to Dadan.
"The hell it is! This just means that the troublemaker had returned!" Dadan shouted annoyed, picking up Luffy by what was left of his shirt as she dragged him off to a small room inside the house. As they looked in, the first thing they saw was Ace sleeping there before she dropped the child on the floor next to him.
"Does she need to be reminded that Luffy's survival is in their hands and Garp will put them in jail if he's grandson is not alive?" Kendo raised an eyebrow.
"Go to sleep for now! We're putting you to work tomorrow!" She said before closing the door with a snap. Luffy was so tired, that he shut his eyes and was out at once—and that was the end of the memory as the darkness returned.
"Wait! He's injuries!" Recovery girl pointed out.
"They don't have any 1st aid supplies, their mountain bandits. They only get those if it's an emergency, bruises, cuts and all his injuries healed thanks to his devil fruit. If he eats a lot, the nutrients heal him up." Joanne explains which fascinates the audience.
The scene starts for a new day, Luffy came charging out the door with a new shirt and a few bandages on his face as he went chasing after Ace like he did before, calling out to him to wait up and to be friends. "You just don't give up, don't you?" Mirio laughs, 'I'm actually surprised we survive this much...' he thought nervously.
"I've just got a really bad feeling about this..." All might said.
Ace stared back at him before he broke into a run and Luffy went after him; around rocks, under branches, once even underneath a large hole in a tree trunk until they reached a pond that was filled with logs. Ace jumped across the water with the help of some vines that were hanging over it and up some rocks before he finally stopped to watch Luffy catch up. "Ace!" He called out stubbornly from the other side of the water. "Let's be friends!" He then went to jump onto the logs that were floating in the water, only to find out that they weren't logs at all.
Almost everyone's jaw dropped, "are you absolutely sure he's not trying to kill him!?" Momo asked in shock.
"Luffy's fine, this just makes him more willing. No matter how much torture it is for us to watch..." Joanne sighed.
Ace didn't do anything as he watched and jumped away, then the memories continued. Luffy would chase after Ace when he left the house with Dadan shouting after him to get back and do chores, every day he would get farther and farther. But always ended up in dangerous situations when Ace was able to ditch him, he was almost eaten by a giant snake, getting knocked off a cliff into a birds nest and then attacked by birds, falling into a raging river filled with fish with sharp teeth before he was rescued by the bandits… and so many other horrible things… Luffy kept chasing after Ace, but could never catch up. Even so, day after day, rain or shine, he kept desperately chasing after him.
"I have to say, he is very hard headed never to give up." Sir nighteye said and fixed his glasses.
"Yeah, most people would give up but Luffy ain't doing it." Hawks said.
"Remember how Luffy met Zoro and Sanji? He didn't take no for an answer, Usopp joined because he invited him. Most of the crew didn't want to join him at 1st but they gave in because he earned their respects, no matter how idiotic he is." Diamond smiled softly, this made them remember the straw hat's adventures. These memories of his childhood is what created the man who will be the pirate king.
1 day, Luffy lost sight of Ace. "Damn!" Luffy said, finally stopping and staring around him for a clue as to where Ace went. "I lost him again! Ace sure is good." he called out to him but got confronted by the biggest tiger you've ever seen.
"What!?" Everyone shouted.
"That tiger is not natural size!" Koda said in shock, this tiger is growling right at Luffy for entering his territory.
"Many animals aren't specifically normal in their world, there are smart ones, cheeky ones, perverted ones and very dangerous. May I remind you of the animals they met, not counting objects that ate devil fruits." Kimiko pointed out.
"She has a shroom point." Komori said.
"But Luffy is in danger! " Hado pointed out.
"M-My legs won't…" Luffy croaked out, staring in horror at the tiger, "Listen to me!" it lunge forward but another roar and looked up to see a giant bear there with a jagged scar over its eye.
"That bear is after the tiger, it wasn't Luffy he was after. It was the bear!" Koda realized.
"This is Luffy's chance! He needs to get away!" Shoda said trying to calm down but his shaking in fear.
Finally gaining control of his limbs, Luffy was able to get back to his feet and made a run for it as the two giant animals fought each other. Luffy went running through the forest, ended up tripping and laid there gasping for breath.
Everyone felt relieved at that, "Luffy still tries to follow Ace for months, and Ace tries to get rid of him." Joanne explains.
Luffy made it out of the forest with his walking stick and sees a mountain range of junk! "Wow! What's this place?" He asks.
"Is... Is this junk town?" Izuku asked.
"Sort of, it's a part of it." Joanne said, katsuki saw a wall far away. He narrowed his eyes.
Luffy is still looking for Ace, just then an old man carrying a sack over his shoulder and a knife with him almost ended up running Luffy over. "Out of my way kid!" he barked at him, but when Luffy didn't move. Simply looking up at him in surprise, the man seemed to become irritated and held up the knife. "I said move!" he threatened, "Or I'm gonna…"
"He went that way!" Someone shouted behind him, he panicked and ran off as fast as his legs could carry him. Luffy seemed unfazed as he watched the man run away, merely going back to climbing over the junk, looking for Ace.
"Looks like someone stole the wrong person." Hawks said.
"Joanne, earlier, you said the mountain bandits only steal from poor people. What of the rich?" Nezu asked.
"Now that's a death sentence, many nobles and aristocrats in the pirate world are greedy fat pigs. Why do you think slavery is legal there?" Joanne held a dark look.
"I see..."
Onward Luffy kept searching for Ace until he came to a patch of giant trees… as he stood up the hill of junk they spotted him, Ace was there. Carrying a sack under his arm and clearly running somewhere in mind, Giggling to himself. Luffy jumped down and continued to follow him, he wandered through the trees until he reached a small clearing and looked up to one of the trees to see that there were two boys there. One of them was undoubtedly Ace; the other however, was a new person. He looked around ten-years-old with a missing tooth and short curly blond hair, he was dressed mostly in blue, but his most noticeable feature was his large black top hat with a pair of blue goggles wrapped around it. "…put it away. We can't let anyone else see it." Ace's said to him, moving the large sack in his hands.
"Is that Sabo?" Katsuki asked not cursing.
"He looks different except for the hat." Gran torino said.
"Why is he wearing those?" Momo and tenya looked closely at the rich clothes his wearing.
Luffy went running towards the tree when he spotted them and they heard the boy with the top hat ask, "I wonder how much we need for a pirate ship."
"Don't know." Ace replied, "Ten million or one hundred million maybe? Long way to go."
"Wait, did Ace stole money to save when he becomes a pirate?" Rin asked.
"Yes." Stella answered.
"So that's the reason why he doesn't want to hang out with Luffy?" Sen asked.
"Partially, he still thinks he's a whiney brat." Joanne said.
"A pirate ship?!" Luffy exclaimed excitedly from the bottom of the tree.
"Did luffy forgot Ace really dislikes him? Ribbit." Tsuyu said.
"Well Luffy doesn't realized his in danger until the last minute or someone tells him he is." Anita sighs.
"You guys!" Luffy called loudly, "Are you guys gonna become pirates? I wanna become one too!"
While Luffy just stood there grinning like an idiot, Ace and the boy exchanged terrified looks and quickly scrambled down the tree like insects before they ran to him and knocked him to the ground. "Be quiet!" they yelled at the same time.
They sweatdrop, "I believe they have stolen money and can't have blubber it out... This boy does not understand almost anything except fighting." Sir nighteye sighed and everyone agrees.
"Ace, I didn't know you went this far every day!" Luffy said.
"Shut up!" Ace is clearly annoyed.
"So this is the Luffy you were telling me about?" the new kid said to Ace.
The small child noticed him, "oh! You told him about me?" He asked happily.
"Not good things I believe." Fatgum said.
"I told him how annoying you are," Ace told him coldly.
"He also told me you're empty-headed." The boy added.
Luffy just laughed. "Oh yeah?"
"That's partially true and mean." Mirio said.
"Luffy? You do know their insulting you right?" The incarnate sweatdrop.
"You don't even realize that we're dissing you, do you?" the boy asked him.
"He finally followed me all the way here." Ace is grumpy, "I didn't take any of the walkable routes either..."
"Are you a friend of Ace's?" Luffy asked the new kid, "Be my friend too!"
"Kinda reminds me how Luffy wanted Sanji, Zoro, Usopp, Chopper, Brook and Jimbe to join his pirate crew." Izuku said and katsuki agrees with him.
"Shut up," the boy said at once, "I'm not going to be your friend."
"Then what's your name?" Luffy asked.
He almost said he's name but quickly refuses, "this is why I told you to live with me." He turned to Ace, "the daily round trip training on the mountain road turned out to be bad! What should we do?"
They both were quiet as they thought it over. "He found our secret," Ace said slowly. "He'll tell somebody if nothing is done." His expression turned as cold as ice and he said, "We gotta kill him."
"WHAT!?" They are very shock to hear this.
Both Luffy and mirio are no longer smiling and started to scream in fear which startled the 2 boys, "Don't kill me! Help me! I don't wanna die!"
"Shut up, you idiot!" the boy said, shoving Luffy's head back in an attempt to make him stop screaming, but it didn't work.
"What do you expect!? He almost died multiple times and you'd think he'd brush off death? He's a kid, he has a lot to live for." Present Mic questioned.
"Sabo, kill him already!" Ace yelled, pointing at him to do the job.
"What?!" the kid, now called Sabo, cried out, "You do it!"
"I've never killed anyone before!"
"Me neither!" He shouted back as Luffy continued to scream, "and I don't know how!"
"They never killed anyone and their plan is to kill Luffy? Killing someone is a responsibility from your own hands." Nezu sighed.
"As long as Luffy doesn't blurt out his weakness they won't kill him." Denki said.
"But he should really shut up or they'll attract attention and maybe not the good kind." Midnight said.
"Don't throw me in the water!" Luffy cried out.
"Luffy... You just outted your weakness and they'll kill us like that..." Mirio sighed in disappoinment.
"How many times Luffy was almost killed?" Reiko asked with a deadpan expression.
"Too many to count..." Anita sighed.
"Why doesn't he have a sort of common sense...?" Aizawa lay down in his sleeping holding goose close.
"Because he's a child and has much to learn." Joanne answered.
"Ok!" Ace called at once, "Let's head to the river!"
"Why did he tell us that?" Sabo yelled.
"He's an idiot!"
"Yep..." Many said with indifferent expressions, they know luffy will be fine. But they do wonder what happens next.
"Help me!" Luffy screamed.
"Shut up!" they both yelled and he did for a brief second.
But then he started yelling, "I don't wanna die!"
"He can be quite for a mere second before panicking again." Ectoplasm sighed.
"This is getting really hard to watch..." Gran torino sighed.
"Every second of Luffy's stupidity is making me lose a brain cell..." Power loader limp on his comfy chair giving up.
Just then they heard another voice call out through the trees, "I hear a voice from the forest!"
Ace and Sabo froze glancing over their shoulders as another said, "It sounds like a kid's voice!"
"Oh no!" Sabo whispered as Luffy finally shut up. "Someone's coming!"
"Set him free for now!" Ace said at once, and a smile came back to Luffy's face. "We gotta move from here before they find our treasure!" They watched as the boys untied him and threw him into some nearby bushes as they waited.
A group of men came into their sights. "Everybody knows those brats around here, Ace and Sabo. Are you sure it was Ace who took the money?" said a large, bulky man with long lilac hair, a thick neck, and muscular arms. He carried a sword in one hand and the frown on his face as he looked down to 3 average sized men with him—two of which looked beaten up.
"Yes… we're sorry." the one with a bandage arm in a sling. "We shouldn't have let our guard down."
"How outrageous he is." the large man said sourly. "He can't just steal our money! If Captain Bluejam hears about this, he's going to kill all of us!"
"Did they stole from pirates?" Rin asked.
"Their former pirates, it'll be explained soon." Joanne answered.
"Damnit!" Ace whispered from where the three boys were crouched behind the bushes, a grimace on his face, "I didn't know those thugs were working for Bluejam!"
"You mean that money you stole was from them?" Sabo hissed to him.
"I shouldn't have taken that money." he said seriously and the blonde rolled his eyes in frustration.
"I guess this bluejam is someone they fear." Sir nighteye deducted.
"He has a real sword." Sabo muttered, pointing at it. "That's Porchemy who works under Bluejam. He's crazy! You know that right? They say he scalps his opponents after they lose a fight with him! While they're still alive!"
Almost everyone shivered in fear, "talk about a monster, this guy is really bad news." Tetsutetsu said.
"Wait, where's Luffy going?" Recovery girl said.
"Let's just let them pass for now," Ace whispered, but the 2 boys realized Luffy is no longer with them.
The next thing they heard was Luffy screaming. "Lemme go! What do you want from me?! Lemme go!"
"Who's this little shit?" Porchemy asked, holding the child up by the front of his shirt.
"Help me!" He yelled, flailing uselessly, "Ace!"
"How many times Luffy almost died?" Awase asked curiously.
"Too many to count, he has to learn things the hard way. But that's who he is, as a child he had so many close calls. This is one of them." Joanne answered.
"But why in the world he would believe Ace would save him?" Jozu asked, "he tried to get rid of him so many times."
"Surprisingly, Luffy has strong faith in others he knows he can trust. It's a weird instinct that always never lets him down."
Hearing this got Porchemy's attention, "So what?" Luffy asked, not at all intimidated by the glare.
"Do you know Ace?" He asked.
"I'm his friend," he said at once before he blinked and added, "Oh, but he did just try to kill me."
This is very hard to watch, "... He's doom..." Almost everyone mutters.
"I don't know if you know about this." Porchemy went on to Luffy, "But your friend stole some money from us today. You don't know where it is, do you?" Luffy's face went blank, "So what do you say?" He asked him coldly.
Just then, Luffy looked away, puckering his lips and whistling. "I-I don't know," he said.
"He can't lie to save himself..." Sen face palm.
"Thankfully, alternate Mirio will not have that flaw." Joanne assured them.
Porchemy then chuckled as his face became overshadowed in a sadistic way. "Don't worry. We'll help you remember."
"What are you doing!?" Luffy cried as the pirates took him away, "Where are you taking me?! Lemme go!"
"Ok, this is going to be hard for you all to watch. You can leave and wait outside if you'd like." Joanne said, koda, yui, cementoss, mina and toru left the theatre.
The scene starts at a shack in junk town, Luffy is bound tightly to an old pillar that was holding the roof up, "Lemme go! I'm not gonna tell you anything!" calling out to them all defiantly, Porchemy left for a few moments and came back with an enormous wooden hammer that was about twice Luffy's size. He uses it on him but thanks to his devil fruit, it's practically useless. "I told you that my body turned to rubber after I ate the Devil's Fruit," he told them all, glaring at them.
"The next scene is not for the faint of heart so we'll skip to the part Ace and Sabo saves them."
"WHAT!?" This surprised a lot.
"But why?" Pony asked.
"No matter how much pain Luffy got inflicted, he refuses to tell them." Joanne answered.
The scene skips to Porchemy wearing bloody needle punching gloves and a bloody beaten Luffy, he was about to kill him when... Ar that moment the wall behind them exploded apart and they spun around to see the wood breaking and flying apart as two familiar figures had come bursting in through with wild looks in their eyes, "DON'T!" Ace and Sabo screamed, metal poles raised and ready for fight.
"How did they find them?" Ochako asked.
"Porchemy sent his men out to keep looking for them, Sabo overheard them talking about how Luffy didn't give them their whereabouts. He convinced Ace to save him out of the kindness of his heart." Joanne answered.
The 2 got Luffy and was about to leave, except Ace knew Porchemy will just keep going after them. He'll stay behind and because this brat never runs away from a fight.
Everyone looks at katsuki who kinda knows how Ace feels.
Sabo had to drop Luffy to help his friend, Luffy just sat where he was and watched in awe—even though the 2 boys were getting beaten up. They were still able to fight him—until they were finally able to bring him down, bleeding and hurt. Sabo grabbed Luffy like a doll and then he led the way out of the shack, with Ace right behind them.
"He didn't have to drop the child..." Recovery girl looked irked.
The scene changes to the hideout of Ace and Sabo, a heavily Luffy wailing loudly. Tears cascading town his face once again while the other two boys completely ignored him and focusing on their own injuries, Ace was sitting cross legged up on a small hill as he tried to fix his broken metal staff while Sabo leaned up against the rocks right next to him. "That's a real bad habit you've got, Ace." The blonde spoke with a frown as Ace weighed the staff in his hands. "Refusing to run even when you're up against real pirates? Why are you so eager to die?"
"It doesn't feel right." He mutters, "it was better before."
Sabo just sighed as he shook his head, "After this, Bluejam's crew will never forgive us." He continued thoughtfully, "They'll be after us from now on."
"That was scary!" Luffy sobbed, still crying out loud. "I thought I was gonna die!"
Ace jumped down from his perch and seemed to lose his temper again. "YOU'RE SO ANNOYING! SHUT UP!" he screamed at Luffy, "HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO CRY FOR ANYWAY?! I HATE WEAKLINGS AND CRYBABIES! YOU REALLY PISS ME OFF!"
"ACE! LUFFY IS 8! HE DOESN'T NEED YOU TO SCOPD HIM FOR ALMOST DYING! HAVE A HEART!!!" Mina scolded.
"Not cool man! You can't expect him to brush it off!" Kirishima scolded with her.
Luffy shut up at once.
"He actually listened?" Many are shocked.
Sniffling a little, he bowed his head and muttered, "Thank you." The other 2 were looking at each other, as if not understanding why they were being thanked. "For…" he went on, tears now starting up again, "for saving me!"
For some reason Ace just got mad, "why you!" He began.
Sabo stopped him, "Oi, oi," he said, trying to calm him down, "He's just thanking us."
Almost everyone looked at him in disbelief, "what the heck is his mentality? Hasn't her ever been thanked before?" Awase asked getting frustrated.
"I like the older and more polite Ace better, he actually cares for Luffy and uses manners." Setsuna said.
"I think that's it." Hound dog said and everyone looks at him.
"What's it?" Mashirou asked.
"Ace was never thanked before, I don't believe the mountain bandits ever taught him manners. He's brash, isolated, easy to anger and doesn't run away from a fight. He wants to be pirate along with Sabo, he's socially confused. He's never taught manners or their meanings and it seems he has trusts issues, he doesn't know how to act when people are nice to him. The mountain bandits only taught him what they know, he must've picked up a few bad habits. It's like he's angry with almost everything."
... "That actually sounds like Bakugo." Kirishima said.
"The fuck-!" The ash blonde got angry.
"No, Bakugo has parents. He at least knows manners but uses them when he wants to, he wasn't raised to be brash and angry. It seems to be hereditary, he has a big ego thanks to the people around him giving him false praise. Ace never has that, he's not praise or shows his ego at all. So the question is, what is Ace so angry about?"
"I don't get it!" Ace began, "Why didn't you tell them?! Those guys kill women and children without a second thought!"
Luffy sniffled, trembling slightly at Ace's loud voice. "If I'd told them… I could never be your friend."
Everyone looked at each other and guessed Luffy is lonely since he can only rely on Ace.
"That'd better than dying isn't it?" He demanded him. "Why do you want to become my friend anyway?"
"Because…" the child started off, but seemed unable to tell him the reason. "Because…"
"After all the stuff that I put you through?" He pressed on, wanting an answer, "Why did you still follow me this far?"
"Because..." He stopped for a moment and looked afraid, but he looked up. "Because there isn't anybody else!" He yelled out. "I can't go back to fushia village, and I hate the mountain bandits. If I didn't chase after you, I'd be all alone! And being alone is worse than being hurt."
Izuku, shoto, monoma and hado looked down remembering their childhood. How lonely they were, each with a different reason; quirkless, bastard father, envy and jealousy. Katsuki looked down and remembered after he cut ties with Izuku, he had so many friends praising him. But they are all lies, they aren't real friends. Well he can barely get a friend if not for his attitude, the only person who actually cared for him was Izuku. But he let his ego go to his head and should have known Izuku never looks down on him.
Ace looked loss for words as he thought over what Luffy was saying. "What about your parents?" he asked slowly.
"Just Grandad, nobody else."he answers.
"Well father dearest doesn't want people to know your his son." Sato said.
"But what about Luffy's mother?" Momo asked.
"That's The problem, I don't know. There has been no details on Luffy's mother at all." Joanne answers.
Ace just looked at Luffy long and hard. "It isn't so bad when I'm here?" he asked, his tone no longer as cold or as harsh it had been up until now.
"Right." He nodded.
"And it'd be bad if wasn't here?" The 10 year old continued, his voice still surprisingly gentle.
"Right!" He said again.
"Do you want me to live?" He asked quietly, his eyes no longer filled with anger but... Curiosity.
He looked surprised by the question and said, "Of course I do!"
Everyone was completely floored hearing that of all questions, katsuki was having flashbacks of the day he said something very unhero like. Then it clicked, "back in Sanji's memories, he had that same similar question." Midnight said.
Joanne nodded, "Sanji watched Luffy's memories, he decided to use Ace's question as an example. Ace and Bakugo are nothing alike, The son of Roger learned to accept Luffy and learned humiliation from Garp and how he's raised. Bakugo on the other hand, has parents, let his ego grow bigger than the Earth and thought human kindness and decency is just a lie! He is never taught humility until he was almost killed, that was a wake up call that he is not strongest. And UA proved him more when he's classmates having stronger quirks than him, you realized when I took you all and watch this story."
"Why would Ace ask such a question?" Mirio asked.
"Oh, he thought he's dad left him for dead but it wasn't true. He's also surrounded by strangers who hate Roger." Luffy answers and a clip plays of Ace asking some people at the bar what if Roger has a son, their answers weren't very nice.
Everyone is rigged by this, "he's just a child! He has no fault for being born!" Ibara shouted and surprised her classmates.
"Wow, I didn't know you can lose your cool." Shoda said.
"Shoda I'm human, I'm allowed to feel resentment for a bunch of lies and stupidity."
Ace's face was shadowed so they couldn't see what was going through his head at the moment. "I see." was all he said as he turned around, so that the other two couldn't see him. "But still." he added as he scratched his head. "I hate spoiled kids like you."
At those words, all the sadness in Luffy vanished at once as he jumped down and yelled angrily, "I'm not spoiled! I'm strong!"
"Strong?" The 10 year old shouted, turning back to him, his expression skeptical, "How are you strong?! You're supposed to be a man but you keep crying all the time!"
"He's only 8 yrs old, he's allowed to cry when he's scared." All might said.
"Don't forget he has many situations when he almost died." Sir nighteye said.
The 2 argued about being a pirate until Sabo stopped them, he has a problem; he can't hide in the tree house anymore and blue jam is looking for them. "I've been living in this forest, but it's close to their base, in Pirate's Cove. What do you think would happen if I fell asleep somewhere and they attacked me?"
"You'd die." Ace said bluntly.
Luffy nodded. "You'd definitely die."
"Wow, their more blunt than you tsuyu." Mina said and the frog girl agreed.
The scene changes to back in the mountai bandit hut as morning dawns, Dadan is shock she has to take care of a 3rd brat. The 3 are groggy but Sabo introduce himself, their caretaker has heard of his name around junk town.
The audience were kinda disgusted by Sabo's manners, "looks like Sabo is also a bad influence on Luffy..." Ibara sighed, "and I thought he was a gentleman too."
"Well, he's a child. He's going to do what all little boys do, get dirty. Although, there are some boys who don't like getting dirty because of how their raised." Anita said and stood up, "I'm going to make us some ramen." The audience called out what kind they wanted.
"Can she cook it all by herself?" Ryukyu asked.
"A friend of mine is there in the kitchen to help her." Joanne reassures her.
Sabo kept grinning. "But you're a nice old hag who can't turn down any requests from other people too, right? I heard that you're an old hag who's like a man among men!"
Most of the audience found it funny, "well I guess Luffy learned that from Sabo..." Midnight sighed.
Dadan is really insulted, "Since you're all under my care you'd better hurry up and get to work!" she snapped, Sabo is grateful but the boys ran off.
"Oh right!" Sabo stopped so suddenly that Luffy ran into him and fell back on the ground, he didn't seem faze and turned back to the bandits. "I forget to say... Hey Dadan, while we're out, bluejam's crew might come around. So be careful!" He shouted.
"Bluejam might be coming…?" Dogra repeated in a stunned voice. "Why?"
"We got mixed up with one of their crew and beat him up!" He yelled. "See ya later!"
"Well, at least he's considerate to warn them." Present Mic said.
The scene changes to the 3 boys talking about Luffy's devil fruit, he shows off his Gum-Gum Balloon only to end up as a beach ball for the boys… as they played around, the boys accidently ended up kicking him to the water… and Luffy was eaten by a crocodile.
"THOSE IDIOTS!!!!!" Many shouted.
"They have no one to blame but each other, they are technically close to a dangerous area..." Aizawa buried his face in goose's fur.
"Damn! Bastards! Fuckers!" Dynamy shouted.
Thankfully they saved Luffy, he was sore at them until Ace offered the crocodile meat as dinner. He forgives them.
Katsuki's eye twitch, "it's always fucking food..." Remembering the useless fight zoro had because of baroque's work.
The scene changes to the 3 boys sparring, Ace has the highest score after Sabo and Luffy hasn't won at all.
Everyone sweatdrop, "ummm... He's still learning?" Mirio excused.
Ace rolled his eyes and sighed. "I've already told you." he said, "Your fruit isn't useful for anything."
"Crap! It won't work!" Luffy yelled out in frustration, "Just a little more… Again!"
"No!" He crossed his arms stubbornly, "We can only fight 100 times per day, wait until tomorrow."
"100 fights per day!?" Many are shocked at this.
"They have quite the stamina." All might said impressed.
The scene changes to the 3 boys with a long cart that was covered with a tarp, they pulled a disguise as an adult man.
"What are they doing?" Cementoss blinked.
"They are wanted by bluejam, disguising as a grown man is actually smart." Izuku said.
They enter edge town selling the crocodile leather, they were getting mugged but... "Before you rob somebody, you should choose your targets more carefully!" Ace shouted, reaching down and throwing off the cloak to see that it was Sabo, Luffy, and Ace stacked on top of each other again, all of them looking ready to fight.
Some of the audience found it funny, "guess they didn't see that coming!" Denki laughs.
"It's those brats!" 1 of the thugs cried, but before anyone could do or say anything more. The trio was on them and soon it was a brawl as the three kids took them all out, though they were only kids, and were heavily outnumbered, they were more than a match for these guys as they knocked each one of them out. It was soon over, the three of them escaping with nothing but a few cuts and bruises—and once they found the cloak, they climbed up on top of each other's shoulders again—leaving as if nothing had happened.
The audience are impressed how these 3 are able to handle themselves.
"You guys are heavy!" Luffy complained on the bottom of the stack as they stumbled through the streets.
"It'll be worth it," Ace's voice answered, "I'll treat you guys to some Ramen soon."
"Ramen?" He asked.
"You've never eaten ramen?" Mirio asked the older version.
"Shishishi, nope! But I'm glad Ace and Sabo told me about it!" He grinned.
"It's a little strange to find worlds with ingredients similar to ours, let alone some foods are local to them like us here." Sen said.
"Just be patient and you'll see," Ace answered as they walked uneasily on their feet through Edge Town, and towards another gate that lead to a place called 'Town Center'. The place has tall, brightly colored buildings on either side of them that were so clean that they shone like diamonds in the light. There were hundreds of stores on all sides, people dressed in fine clothes doing their shopping and enjoying the nice day.
"Whoa..." Almost everyone looked in awe, save for a few.
"I guess this is the rich district." Momo said.
"Rich and fucking snobby, look at these extras!" Katsuki pointed to the screen at the rich people glancing at the disguise boys and turn their snobby faces in disgust.
"Ok, I hate that place." Mezo said.
"Clean and rich but it's truly ugly, ugly style." Yuga turn away from the snobs.
"I have to agree, these people are living by their own money it's disgusting." Hawks said picking his teeth with a tooth pick.
The disguise boys sold the crocodile leather for a good price.
"You know... I think all these nobles are blind." Gran torino said.
"Why's that?" All might asked his teacher.
"Because their blind as fuck to realize how ugly they look." Everyone found it funny.
The disguise boys walked to a 5 stories restaurant, the host inside bowed and welcomed them in. But when he looked up and caught sight of who had just entered, he paled and became somewhat frantic as he tried to get them to leave. "W-wait a minute!" he stuttered out, "You can't come in to my restaurant!"
"Why? I thought if you have money you can eat." Rin said.
"Not in this restaurant, I've been to some similar to this. They only accept those with status, it's similar to the grand imperial diner." Shoto said.
"I know that place! It's in Kyoto, I've heard a lot of great reviews." Fatgum said.
"Don't let those reviews fool you, they only serve to very rich business people and heroes of any country who ranked in the top 10. Food critics are bribed with exclusive VIP cards to eat there as long as they give them a 5 star review and a free meal once a week."
"WHAT??"Many are shocked at this especially all might, he ate there once and put a good review. He never knew how self centered those people are at the restaurant.
"Now that you mentioned it..." Keigo has a thinking face, "I ate there once, they gave me a lot of delicious chicken I wasn't aware of my surroundings. But I always had an inkling that something didn't feel right." 'my mother eats there every time she vacations at Kyoto though, she's the type to ignore the problems...' he thought and sighed sadly.
But before the host could begin to rant and rave about this, there was some shifting around under the cloak and Sabo's hand pulled out a round, golden pendant that bore the crest of a daisy. "I'd like a private room." he said.
The host gapped for a moment, eyes wide as he stared at it. "T-that... That's!" He stuttered before he gave him many low bows, "it is an honor that a noble would visit my restaurant, we'll serve you right away!" He said in an oily voice.
"What the heck just happened?" Sero asked.
"It's a badge only nobles have and there are those who recognize it easily." Megumi said.
"Hey, that was great," they heard Ace whisper as they followed the man, "Where'd you get it?"
"Oh, ah… it was something I found in the city," Sabo answered unusually apprehensive.
Almost everyone looked at each other, "I'm not buying the whole I found it excuse." Kamakiri crossed his arms.
"What mysteries does Sabo hide?" Shihai asked.
"Hey, is Sabo ok?" Mirio asked.
"He's fine, that badge is when he was still a noble but ran away because his parents are jerks." Luffy bluntly answered.
"Sabo was a noble!?" Many shouted.
Momo realized something, "jerks? What does he mean by that?"
"You'll find out and... You won't like it." Joanne answers.
"I think we established that the pirate world has wonderful things, things that don't make sense and things we hate with a burning passion." Ryukyu said.
The boys are led to a private room somewhere up on the upper levels, the room alone was big enough to hold at least two dozen people and was beautiful carpeted with statues and crystal decoration on the walls with a sparkling chandelier was over their heads as the boys awkwardly sat down at the table.
"Now that is some expensive decor!" Awase said, Ochako looked dizzy.
As soon as the host left them, Luffy whined about wanting to come out, but Ace told them both to stay put until after they brought the food. A few minutes later, a waitress came in with the three bowls of Ramen.
"Their not even suspicious about this." Yui said.
"I guess money and status can get you almost anything." Reiko said.
"Just like grand imperial diner." Shoto said.
"Here you are, sir, three orders of ramen," the waitress said politely, quickly backing away from them as if she was afraid she would be scolded for staying too long. "Sorry for the wait. Please, enjoy," and then she bowed her way out of the room.
"And some of the staff was like that as well."
The boys threw off their disguise and started to eat.
"Ugh, the least they could do is have some manners." Kyoka cringed.
Then Anita comes in with a food trolley of ramen, she is helped by her friend Molly. She has brown hair, blue eyes and wearing a pink chef uniform. She's very well endowed and caught fatgum's eye, everyone enjoys their ramen. "Hello, I'm molluly. I'm here to watch and cook as per Joanne's request." She introduced herself with a smile, she sits besides fatgum who blushes a little but enjoys the ramen.
Soon enough, the boys finished the bowls and Luffy was shouting out, "I want mor…" but before he could finish, the other two clapped their hands over his mouth to keep him quiet before Sabo cleared his throat and called in that deep voice for three more bowls.
"Honestly, that kid only has food in his brain. No wonder he wants to be a pirate, he demands what he wants." Gran torino said.
"Well, he's still a kid. And sometimes kids demand a lot, he grew up earning what he wants and stealing." All might recalls from sanji and zoro's memories of Luffy at his best and annoying moments.
And they watched them eat more and more… they just kept bringing in the food, which was like adding fuel to the fire. The boys were clearly showing this place no mercy, they ducked back under the cloak. Not even done with this next helping when the waitress came back in, gasping for breath, looking as if she had run up here from the kitchen. Not even bothering to hide his abilities, Luffy's arm shot out and took the tray from here. She stood there frozen for a second before she screamed and the door shut behind her.
"Well, he blew it." Shoda said.
"They ate a lot so maybe those chefs can finally rest." Jozu said finishing up his ramen with a few others.
Soon, the door opened, and there stood someone who could only be the owner, "Sir, can you please explain…" But his voice trailed off when he saw the boys there and he yelled out in shock.
"Crap! They found out!" Ace exclaimed with a startled look on his face as he swallowed the last of his food and grabbed his staff.
"Run!" Sabo yelled and then the three of them made a break for the nearest exit, which happened to be the window, and went crashing right through it.
"Wait a minute! Aren't they on the 5th floor!?" Many shouted.
The owner shouted at the theives and ordered anyone to arrest them, and by the sound of the officers this isn't their 1st rodeo.
Sir nighteye sighed and prayed alternate Mirio will control this terrible habit.
The boys ended up passing by a finely dressed man with a thin mustache and a top hat, much like Sabo's but with feathers, a flower, and what appears to be a chain-like band on the hat. When the boys ran passed, he stopped dead as he spotted Sabo. "Sabo?!" he cried in shock, "Is that you, Sabo?! WAIT! So you were alive!" Said boy stopped dead and turned to stare back at the man with a panicked look on his face.
"Who's that?" Mirio asked.
"That's Sabo's did, he's the worst." Luffy said.
"Or maybe he's a concerned father who learned he's lesson." Ectoplasm guessed.
"No, you're all going to hate this man." Joanne said.
He called out to Sabo to come home, this made Luffy and Ace wondering about this. "Hey, Sabo, that man's calling you."
"Who is he?" Luffy asked, also stopping.
Sabo didn't answer that as he said hurriedly, "He must be mistaking me for someone else. Let's go!"
The scene changes to a grassy cliff outside the forest with a perfect view of the ocean, Sabo is leaning against a tree with the other 2 standing in front of him. Ace still wants answers to what happened earlier while they were running but the blonde boy denies it, Luffy doesn't seem to care. Until he and Ace grabbed Sabo by the collar to fess up, "The truth is..." he said softly, "My parents are still alive.l, I'm not an orphan of the Gray Terminal… and the man we saw today… he's my father." He glanced up at them, "I'm sorry for lying to you..." He said sincerely, Luffy forgives him but Ace wants to know why Sabo left nobility behind, "I had to run away from home!" he confessed loudly and they looked at him in surprise.
Most can tell from his tone this child is hurt.
He sat there, with an angry look on his face as he came clean and told them, "They only care about money and social status… not me, if I don't marry a girl from the royal family..." His eyes narrowed in resentment, "I might as well be crap to them. I had to study everyday… just for that, I was always arguing with my parents because of my poor results in school. For that family, I was nothing more than a nuisance."
Everyone now understands, "maybe they changed and cares for him." Ibara suggested.
"I don't fucking buy it." Katsuki said.
"Come on man, maybe Sabo's family opened their eyes." Kirishima said.
"Then why didn't they look for him?" Izuku asked and everyone looks at him, "if they had changed, why didn't they looked for him? He's father doesn't seem to have been looking for him at all."
Sabo sighed as he stopped shaking from anger and said, "Sorry if I offend you, but even though I had parents… I felt lonely! The people of Gray Terminal aren't like the Nobles." He crossed his arms, "But for me, it was better than to live for decades in that place, with the Nobles." Ace understands, the blonde jumped up to his feet with an excited grin on his face. "ACE! LUFFY!" he said smiling, taking them all by surprise. "We definitely have to set sail and leave this place someday! I wanna leave and see the world! Everything that it has to offer! And then write a book about my adventures! I don't mind having to study navigation. I'll get stronger and I'll become a pirate!" he called out at last, punching the air with his fists.
Everyone paused and remembered brook singing hands up, this moment reminds them of the song and how they felt. Especially hawks.
Ace laughed. "I know." he told them as he walked out to the edge of the cliff, he gazed up at the bright blue sky and said determinedly, "You don't need to tell me, I'll be a pirate and I'll fight and fight and fight until I become the most famous! That will be proof that I lived!" He held the staff up and declared, "I don't care if the world doesn't accept me, no matter how much they hate me, I'll become a great pirate and stand above everyone else! I won't run from anyone, or lose to anyone! I'll make sure the world knows my name!"
Everyone remembered how Sanji and Zoro reacted to Ace's parentage and smiled at this boy.
Luffy giggled, "I see… Right!" he said, running forward to stand by Ace, he raised his fists in the air, took a deep breath and shouted out confidently, "I'M GOING TO BE KING OF THE PIRATES!"
Kyoka couldn't help but hum hands up, this moment really felt like the song.
Both Ace and Sabo found it funny until the blonde pointed out that if they sail out to sea, wouldn't they all want to be captain? Ace had planned for him to be his navigator until Luffy cried out that they will be on his ship, the 2 older boys refused. The scene changes to the 3 boys sitting at a stump and Ace holding a bottle of saki, "Did you know? When men drink together, they become brothers." He said and poured a generous amount of the drink into each cup.
"I've read something about that, it's an exchange of saki for loyalty." Momo said.
"That's right, when our country had samurais." Tenya said.
"That practice is still on going but it's mostly used for business men in exchange for loyalty and the yakuza." Ryukyu said.
This made both Luffy and Sabo grin in excitement, "We might not be pirates on the same ship, but we'll be united by our bond of brotherhood." Ace said, now smiling so widely. "So this way, no matter what we do or where we are, no one will ever break that bond!" he exclaimed, picking up a cup. The other two copied him, each taking their own glasses. "From now on..." He proclaimed firmly, holding his glass up. "We're brothers!" The trio clinked their glasses together, and as the sun shone down on the cups, the drink in them seemed to sparkle as they tilted their heads back and drank.
"So manly!!!" Both kirishima and tetsutetsu found this awe inspiring, Izuku smiled sadly and wished he and katsuki were like those boys.
The scene starts on the mountain hut and it's dinner time, it's more rowdier than usual until Dadan had enough and made the boys take a bath. Even bath time became rowdier and sleeping, the lady is at her limit.
Some of the audience felt kinda bad for her.
The scene starts in the morning, Luffy has visitors. "Makino and mayor!" Mirio exclaims.
"Wow, I can't believe their visiting them despite their history with bandits." Ochako said.
"But don't tell Garp-san," Makino said with a wink, putting a finger to her lips, silently telling him to be quiet about this. Luffy merely beamed up at her as he continued to hug her.
"She's soft and spoils him." Power loader said.
The mayor on the other hand is not please where Luffy is staying, after his last encounter with bandits he has some beef with mountain bandits.
"They were practically blackmailed by Garp, you can blame him for having bandits raising the boys." Midnight sighed.
While the Mayor and Dadan continued to argue, Makino clapped her hands together with a wide smile, as she talked with Luffy. "I have some presents for you!" she said, kneeling down to reach into a basket that she brought with her. "I assume Garp-san wouldn't think about these things…" she then pulled out a yellow t-shirt with a purple star on it and held it up, "Ta-da! New clothes!"
"Wow, great!" Luffy exclaimed, with stars in his eyes as he hugged her tightly.
Many found this adorable, "usually kids in that age prefer toys or food but Luffy is ok with anything as a gift even if it's a rock." Hound dog said.
Makino giggled happily. "I'm glad you like them! I just need to adjust the length so… I'll need you guys too." she said looking past Luffy at the house where Ace and Sabo were standing in the doorway, clearly hiding, watching almost jealously. She is willing to make adjustments for all of them, Sabo trusted her then Ace not too far behind.
"This is the first time these 2 have met a kind adult who's doing this because she is a good person." Joanne explained.
"I heard that Ace-kun was mischievous." she said, smiling at him brightly. "But you seem like a good boy."
The 10 year old turned a bright red and looked away. "N-no, I'm not…"
The girls cooed at Ace, "look who's shy!" Mina and toru teased.
"He's so shy!" Sabo whispered to Luffy.
Luffy then called, "You're blushing, Ace!"
"You jerks!" Ace yelled, holding a fist up.
"Oh hey," Makino said hurriedly, "You can't move!"
He stood still, but he warned them clearly, "I'll get you guys later." The 2 just laughed.
It was both funny and somewhat adorable, "they look like regular kids with a decent adult who knows how to handle them, ribbit." Tsuyu said.
The scene changes to might time and Makino made a big feast for everyone, surprisingly they are well behaved and not fighting over the food.
"So they do have manners." Tenya said.
"Yes, but they hardly ever show it. Makino is a nice person so they repay her by behaving themselves." Stella said.
The 3 boys started to talk about being a pirate, then the bandits spit out their drinks and backed away as far as they could go. Garp cleared his throat so that Ace and Luffy looked a little sick before they slowly turned around to see their grandpa's terrifying face tower above them, he did not like what they were spouting about. The boys both spit out their drinks as they moved back as fast as they could before Garp yelled out, "Can't you both understand that you must become Navy soldiers?!" And then he punched both boys until they fell back onto the floor with large bumps on their heads.
"Did he expects those bandits to teach his kids about marines when I believe none of them have joined the marines? What is the point of them living with mountai bandits if they will never be educated." Vlad ranted.
He shouted at Dadan and also punched her for not edilucating the boys properly.
"That's your own fault you retard!" Sero mildly glared at the screen.
"Where's Makino and the mayor?" Izuku asked.
"They snuck away before Garp could spot them." Vivi answered.
He 'trained' the 3 boys then left, he will resume their 'training' the next day. So all 3 left and found a tree and started building a small house on it, it wasn't perfect but it'll do. they attached a flag with the crossbones with the letters ASL printed on it, they have a great view of the island and started to play pirates.
This reminds them of when they played as heroes, either a hero they idolized or their own. "There is a memory of the 3 who fought against each other to have the right to call captain, this divided them for a while until they meet Naguri. A former pirate captain, he taught all 3 teamwork and inspired him to go sailing again to find his old crew mates." Joanne said.
"Even at a young age, he still inspires someone. Ribbit." Tsuyu said.
"That's pretty noble of them." Mirio smiled.
The scene starts at a dark and stormy day, the 3 are playing pirates while making sure their hideout wouldn't get damaged by the storm. "Luffy!" Ace yelled from below, "Don't let the flag be blown off!"
"Yeah!" Sabo agreed, "Losing your flag is the ultimate disgrace for a pirate!"
"Huh, didn't in the memories the flag got stolen?" Hado asked.
"Yeah, and they didn't want to get scolded by him so they retrieve it without his knowledge." Momo said.
"Well, I guess this is why it's important..." Tamaki said getting used to the crowd.
The scene changes to after the storm, they need to fix and repair the hideout from the damages it took. Luffy ran in front of the other 2 as they walked and turned to face them, walking backwards. "I wanna find a telescope!" he declared.
"Oh yeah! We can use it to look out everywhere on the island! But I don't know if there's a telescope intact in the grey terminal." Mirio said.
Almost everyone smiled fondly at this but for some reason shoto had a very bad feeling.
Ace rolled his eyes, "Dumbass, you think something like that's just going to fall out of the sky?"
Sabo chuckled, "in that case, I'd rather find a cannon."
"And that'll give out their location." Manga pointed out.
The 3 boys laughed loudly, as they stepped into Gray Terminal and began rummaging through the mountains of garbage, looking for anything useable. Sabo went off a little ways ahead to find more wood as Luffy continued to look for his telescope, Luffy threw aside some more junk and whined to Ace, "It's no use, Ace, I can't find a telescope."
"Luffy..." Ace groaned, picking up some scraps of wood as he spoke. "Why are you looking for a telescope? Go find some useable wood instead."
"It's important to find the most important materials, just find the telescope while looking for wood." Tenya said.
"He really wants a telescope." All might muttered.
Ace suddenly dropped everything he was holding and pulled Luffy down to the ground, "Ace—what?" He cried out startled.
"Shhhh." the older boy hissed, forcing his head down. "Stay quiet." The 2 boys crawled up the mounds of junk and cautiously peered over it, at the bottom of the mountain was Sabo… and he was completely surrounded and outnumbered.
"Oh no Sabo!" Bondo said.
"His in trouble!" Kirishima clenched his fists.
"Something doesn't feel right." Shoto narrowed his eyes.
"Maybe your stomach ate too much?" Sen suggested.
"I never would have guessed that one of the infamous three troublemakers was a noble." Bluejam said.
"Bluejam? How do you know that?" Sabo asked.
"That's bluejam? I don't really get it, I thought he'd be a pirate who loves to wear blue." Denki scratched his head.
Luffy looked ready to jump down and fight, but Ace grabbed him. "Not like that idiot." he hissed, looking around quickly. That was when he spotted an old barrel lying near them and he grinned, "Perfect." he said, leading the youngest to it. "We'll use this!"
"Are you sure, there's more than last time and guards from edge town." Pony looked worried and nervous.
Sabo knew that he was in trouble, but he couldn't run with so many pirates surrounding him on all sides. However, when the 1st idiot tried to grab him from behind, he kicked him hard, yelling out, "You wanna fight, bastard?!" Ace kicked off and suddenly they were rolling down the hill of junk towards the pirates. At once, the men were all distracted at the sight of the rolling, and before the nearest pirate—the one standing behind Sabo—could react, the barrel went slamming into him, knocking him clean off his feet and he was out cold before he hit the ground. He grinned wildly at his 2 brothers.
Luffy was stumbling around, looking slightly green. "My eyes are spinning..." He muttered and then he fell to the ground with a loud flop.
Ace turned to face the pirates, still grinning—clearly not afraid at all. "If all three of us work together, these guys aren't scary at all!"
"That's right!" He exclaimed, getting back to his feet, his dizzy spell over with, "We even beat the Great Tiger of Mount Corvo!"
"So come on!" Mirio feels battle ready these so called pirates.
"Look at you mirio, ready to jump into the fight." Hado smiled, who gave a sheepish grin and sir nighteye was a little worried.
But the Bluejam pirates were now looking angrier than ever as they slowly advanced towards them, "You little brats!" one of them yelled threateningly, holding up his sword.
Ace just kept on smiling. "To finish this fight quickly." he said to his brothers, "we just have to go for the captain!"
"Yeah!" Luffy yelled in agreement and they ran together, Sabo dropping the supplies he gathered and they took care of business. Ace and Sabo were dodging out of the way of the blows, Luffy not even bothering with the clubs as he let them hit him, only for the blunt weapons to bounce off uselessly.
The audience are impressed by such teamwork.
Then bluejam pulled out a gun and fired, narrowly missing Ace's foot. "What!?" He exclaimed, having not guess he'd do that. That was when they all ducked and covered, with Ace and Sabo hiding behind what looked like a broken ship's mast, and Luffy actually covering his face with a plank of wood on the ground.
He laughed darkly, "alright brats." He grinned evilly, "stay where you are!"
"Like we're scared of a gun!" but then they are grabbed by the pirate crew who snuck behind them.
But the scared and shocked look on Sabo's face was enough to tell him that something was dangerously wrong, he freeze at the sight of a large group of men were approaching them, each one wearing what had to be gas masks, and each was carrying loaded rifles as they marched. Accompanying them is Sabo's father.
Most glared at the screen.
Just then, Sabo's father spoke, looking over them all with a cold look in his eyes; he was annoyed, as if he could think of a million things he rather be doing than see his son. Speaking of which, he was now looking at Sabo with disappointment as he spoke, "Looks like we came just at the right time."
"Father…" Sabo whispered in terror, too scared to move. At that one word, Ace and Luffy were also staring at him shock, unable to believe what was happening.
Bluejam looked over at Sabo's dad and said, in an oily voice, "Master, he doesn't have a single scratch on him."
"Master!?" Katsuki questioned with a disgusted tone.
"He offered them a large sum of money to capture Sabo unharmed, the goa kingdom is offering him a title if he does something for them." Joanne explained.
"So he'd rather be there lap dog? What is the offer?" Jurota asked.
"To become a noble and a place to live in the kingdom." Stella answered.
"I can't believe he's throwing his freedom for this!" Present Mic growled.
Bluejam turned towards the man holding Sabo, and gestured for him to come over. "HEY!" Sabo called, suddenly remembering how to move as he fought tooth and nail to get away. "LEMME GO!"
"Sabo!" Ace yelled.
"But why now? He had plenty of time to get him but this is different." Ibara asked.
"I see..." Outlook said, looking over at Luffy and Ace as if examining a pair of stray dogs, before turning his nose up at them in disgust. "It must be because of these 2, they led Sabo down a path of evil?"
"What the fuck did this fucker say!?" Katsuki let out explosions in anger.
Tenya coughed, "now, now, let's think rationally. There's a chance he is just worried for his son, he had time to reflect on his actions. Maybe if he listens to Sabo, he isn't all that bad."
"Tenya, what exactly are you trying to prove?" Kendo asked.
"Look, we know some nobles are good like kaya for example so maybe not everyone in that kingdom isn't bad or snobby."
"Oh, you poor naive soul... Their much worse." Joanne sighed.
"Give Sabo back!" Luffy demanded though he didn't sound that threatening though.
"What do you mean give him back? Saco is my child!" Outlook argued, "it is the responsibility of every child to live according to the will of their parents who gave them life!"
Everyone was quite and looked to iida... "Isn't all that bad, huh?" Hawks looked really angry he's eyebrow twitch.
"What kind of reasoning is that!?" Hound dog growled in anger, "That doesn't make any sense! Parents bring you into the world so that you do everything your parents tell you to do?"
"That's not how it works, he's only seeing Sabo as a sort of property!" Aizawa growled hating these people, goose hiss at the screen.
"Unmanly!" Both kirishima and tetsutetsu shouted.
But Sabo's father went on by pointing a finger at them, accusing them of lying to Sabo and that they convinced him to run away from home.
Everyone was becoming really irritated of this guy, "I truly apologize and take back everything I said, this man is a scum." Tenya said.
"He hasn't changed, he doesn't care how Sabo feels." Ibara said.
"He's just blaming those 2 boys, yeah real mature." Midnight said.
"Are you attempting to steal my fortune?" outlook asked.
"Yeah, like they want dirty money." Ryukyu growled.
"Yeah! Screw money!" Hado cheered.
"What was that, bastard!?" Ace yelled, looking quit angry. But then, the pirate holding him slammed him into the ground to get him to shut up, Ace's face was cut on something sharp and blood splattered everywhere, including hitting Sabo's father's cheek.
"Sabo!" Many shouted in worry.
"Hey now, pirate, be careful how you handle these children!" outlook yelled and he wiped the blood off with his handkerchief.
"Maybe he's not--" iida started but was cut off.
"You got some of this inferior filth's blood on my face!" he finished, throwing the cloth away onto one of the garbage piles like it was something disgusting.
Tenya has had it, he stood up and was about to run to the screen when joanne use magic chains to wit hold him. Many did the same thing, "I'll show you something to rant about." Recovery girl said clutching her cane.
Luffy called out to Ace in worry, Sabo had finally broken free and ran to his father, standing between him and his brothers. "Please stop!" he cried out desperately, "They didn't deceive me! It was my choice to leave home!" but outlook won't listen.
Just glared at him in irritation and told him to be quiet as 2 soldiers grabbed him and pulled him back, once Sabo was out of the way. He looked back to Bluejam and asked, "I trust that you pirates will take care of the others?"
"Ugh, this guy is the worst!" Monoma growled.
Bluejam merely grinned at the idea, and continued to speak in that oily voice, "Of course we will, master. After all, we've received payment." He went on, "Rest assured, I will finish these two so they never bother your child again."
Sabo's eyes widen in horror, "Wait a second, Bluejam!" he screamed out, looking ready to do just about anything as he glared back to his father. He then spoke, as if every word was hurting him, "Father, it's alright! I understand!"
His father looked down at him, his eyebrows raised as he asked coldly, "What do you understand?" He didn't say anything at 1st but bit his lip down, he looked sick and was about to burst into tears.
Most of the audience felt he was giving off deja vu, Kyoka's widen. "Just like Robin..." She whispered.
Ace's eyes widened in realization, "NO! Don't do it, Sabo!"
Sabo's mouth was trembling as he finally croaked out, "I'll do whatever you ask." Every word looked as if they were physically hurting him, "I'll live just as you tell me to, just… don't hurt these two. That's all I ask. Please… they are my irreplaceable…" he paused for a fraction of a second before he finished, "brothers."
Many started to tear up.
"In that case, come back home now!" outlook said, "Stop with this ridiculous pirate game, right now!"
Everyone growled at this horrible man.
Sabo had to comply, "HEY! Sabo, don't go!" Ace screamed after him, but then the pirate that was holding him, slammed his face back into the ground again, warning him to stay quiet. But he kept screaming, "Sabo! Just run!"
Sabo stopped for a moment, though he didn't look at them, they could tell that he was listening to every word he was saying. "We'll be fine! We were going to share our freedom together, remember!?"
"Sabo, don't go!" Luffy begged out loudly, as if something was ripping out his heart.
Ace then continued on, now sounding angry, "Are you going to let it end like this!?"
"He doesn't have a choice Ace! Your all still too young against them!" Izuku sobbed.
"This isn't fair! Why did Sabo's stupid father do this to him! He doesn't care about him and this is how he treats him!" Ochako cries as well, many are crying at this sad scene.
As he continued to walk away, something small and broken fell out of Sabo's coat, and he stopped at that, looking ready to grab it.
Tsuyu chocked on her sob and covered her mouth, "he... He... He actually found it..." Hado then sobs.
Mirio let the tears flow but also his fists clenched in despair, "oh Sabo..." Pony sobbed.
But Sabo was pushed along while the soldiers stepped on it… breaking it even further so that it was just a smash bit of metal and glass.
"No!" Power loader stood up crying, "you-you-you monsters!" The teachers comforted him.
"SABO!" Ace screamed out so loudly that it was as if he was trying to tear his throat… but still nothing. Sabo was led away, surrounded on all sides by guards as if he were a prisoner being led away to prison. Which, in a way, he was.
"Children shouldn't be treated that way..." Fatgum clenched his fists in anger and tears spilled from his eyes.
"Agreed, Sabo did the nobles of actions." Ryukyu said.
The bluejam pirates took the 2 boys to their base, "Those nobles have it made, huh? You kids think so too, right?" bluejam asked on his chair merely looking down at them both with that same smug look that made them all angry.
"What the fuck is he rambling about?" Katsuki growled.
"They look down on all of us and think we're trash, while they live their proud, carefree lives. Wouldn't you say he's better off living as a noble?"
"What the hell are you trying to say?" Ace demanded hotly, looking ready to fight.
"Pirates are much better, of course!" Luffy added, just as angrily. "Sabo thinks so too!"
"Yeah! Sabo rather be free than become those assholes!" Sero shouted.
Bluejam didn't seem fazed by their words as he took another swig of his drink. "I feel sorry for you two," he said before glancing at some of his men, "Untie them."
"Fuck your sorry you bastard!" Mina fingered the screen.
"Mina!" Momo gasped at her friend's actions.
"Their a bunch of jerks who want money than freedom."
"Why do you think a child of a noble would leave High Town and go to Gray Terminal?" Bluejam asked them as if asking what the weather would be like tomorrow. "All nobles are the same, whether they be kids or adults. There's no doubt he thought we were all fools. In his heart, he was looking down on you as well."
What he said triggered katsuki, "shut the fuck up! Sabo isn't like those fugly fuckers!" He looks enraged.
"You don't know anything about Sabo so shut your pie hole!" Sato shouts.
"Don't be ridiculous!" Ace yelled stubbornly. "Sabo isn't like that at all!"
"That's right!" Luffy agreed without a shred of doubt, "we're brothers!"
Bluejam looked ready to laugh as he waved his hand down at them. "Is that so?" he asked sarcastically, "Then please forgive me. But you 2 won't ever be going near that kid again, will you? If you're planning to do that, I've got no choice but to kill you right here. If you think he's your brother, then it's better for him too if you left him alone."
"Like that will happen, Luffy and Ace will rescue him. I was going to suggest Garp but he'll want something in return." Mirio said.
"But Sabo hates High Town!" Luffy shouts but bluejam laughs it off, he offers the 2 a deal.
"I got a map of Gray Terminal here, you've got to carry some goods to the spots marked with an X. That's all, are you up for it?"
"I got a really bad feeling about this." Yuga said.
It was surprising that Ace agrees to this, "How much will you pay us?" Bluejam just smirked a little wider.
"Their going to free Sabo right?" Shoda asked.
"They can't, even if they helped Sabo run away. They'll find them, they need to get off the island or away from east blue. But they're too young, Ace doesn't know how to help. Nor does luffy." Joanne sighed.
"But what about Garp?" Jozu asked.
"He can't do anything either, a child is young. They need to follow rules to keep them safe but the household has more power, well depending on the wealth. Sabo's family are rich bastards, they'll get away with anything. One time, Sabo played with a rich kid but he is so spoiled, he hit him. He's parents scolded Sabo but Sabo didn't care, for some reason he hates being spoiled. He's parents are too busy making money, they don't spoil they're kid like their aristocrat friends. After he learned to walk and talk, they made him study a lot. I guess that's when he developed a rebellious mind, he did at one point wanted their affection but they brushed him off and made him study more. That's when he had enough and ran away after they cared more to a spoiled brat than him."
Hearing this made them all feel empathy for Sabo, "poor Sabo..." Pony said.
Katsuki remembered zoro's memories, "Sabo said he sailed off the island."
"He did, you'll see why." Joanne confirmed.
"Ace…" Luffy finally whined to him, carefully moving to look at him since there was a crate balancing on top of his head. "I don't like it when Sabo's not around."
Ace didn't even look at him as he said in a harsh tone, "Just deal with it, I want to go get Sabo too. But I don't know what would really make Sabo happy."
"What the!? Has he forgotten how Sabo explained he ran away because those sorry excuse parents didn't care about him! How can he forgotten their brothers and everything they've been through!" Tetsutetsu can't believe what Ace is saying.
"Don't tell me he believes that fake pirate!" Monoma sneered at bluejam, "he doesn't know anything about Sabo!"
"Let's see how things go." Ace said, more to himself than to Luffy. "He's strong. If he isn't happy, he's sure to come back to us. We have to keep collecting the pirate fund in case that time comes."
"That sounds risky and dangerous, Sabo can never be free if they use his brothers as leverage." Midnight said.
"Blackmailing him." All might growled.
The scene changes back to their hideout, the 2 boys are trying to sleep. Luffy wonders aloud about Sabo and Ace just wants him to shut up and sleep, the younger boy looks at the older boy grimly. "We promised we'd forget about Sabo for now, right? So sleep." As Luffy started to doze off, he heard Ace whisper. "He might be happier this way?"
"No Ace... Sabo will never be happy as long as he stays under their roof..." Shoto clenched his fists.
Luffy mutters telescope in his sleep.
"He's still thinking about that huh?" Power loader jokes a little but he can't seem to feel better.
The scene starts at the Gray Terminal, near the sea where a large pirate ship painted red and a gruesome red skull out front. It appeared to be the late afternoon, and there were Luffy and Ace with the rest of the Bluejam Pirates, and they seemed to be talking.
"I feel so sorry for that ship to have a crappy crew."
"Everything's ready, Boss." one of the pirates said with a proud grin, "We're all set, all we need is the signal and everything's ready to go!"
"Good." Bluejam grinned back, "Well done. And hopefully, this will be the last job that we'll do as the Bluejam Pirates."
Luffy and Ace looked at him in surprise, "What?" Ace questioned skeptically. "You mean you're quitting being pirates?"
"Why would you do that?!" Luffy demanded.
"No pirate will work for anyone, they rather be free than to take orders. Bluejam is quitting because he is just a greedy bastard." Vivi said.
"Sounds like when a hero wants to quit which isn't common, some schools aren't preparing their students properly so some heroes quit on the 1st day." Nezu said.
"Now that we're finished, might as well tell you everything." Bluejam declared. He grinned evilly and said, with no hint of a joke in his tone. "Tonight, we're gonna set off those 'packages'. And when we do, the Gray Terminal will be nothing but a pile of ashes by tomorrow morning."
"Wait!? He's burning down the grey terminal!?" Mirio shouted in panic.
"WHAT??" Many shouted.
"But why!?" Kamakiri asked.
"You'll know soon." Stella answered.
"You fool, don't scream!" Bluejam scolded, looking around to make sure that no one else could hear them. "We can't let anyone else know about this!"
"Can't let anyone-!?" Mirio's eyes widened in horror, "they want to burn everything including the people who live here!"
"WHAT!?" Many shouted in shock.
"All those lives? But why?" Recovery girl asked.
"Just wait." Joanne said.
The 2 boys wanted to leave and warm everyone, the former pirates captured them. Bluejam pointed out they helped him.
"Because you are mental!" Mina shouted, many are pissed.
Bluejam asked about their hidden treasure but Ace glares at him, "Fine, don't tell me." He waved his hand "Tie them to the ship. They can burn with the rest of the garbage."
"No!!!" Many are scared and worried.
"You're letting your own ship burn as well?" Ace yelled at him as they were being tied to a post—Luffy kicking and screaming the whole time. "How are you all gonna get away?!" But the former pirate captain didn't care anymore, they left the kids. Luffy and Ace had to find a way to get out and fast, the older boy called out to his brother in desperation. "See that window back there?"
"Yeah?" He replied back.
"Do you think you can stretch your arm out and break it?" still pulling on the rope.
"I—I don't know!" trying to move his fingers, but was bound so tightly that it was almost impossible.
"Well, try something!" He snapped, "If you can't use your hands then try your feet or something!"
"Ok!" he gasped out, moving his foot up as high as he could, he then stuck his tongue out as he concentrated, kicking out foot as far as he could go. Like a rubber band, his foot shot out, but fell several feet short of the window.
Everyone watched in anticipation and worry, they pray these boys will miraculously escape.
Luffy kept trying as Ace encouraged him and is starting to panic, he looked outside to see the night has come.
"This is bad, their going to start the fire when everyone is asleep. Those boys need to hurry." Hound dog growled.
"I hope they believe them." Hado said.
"The whole neighborhood knows bluejam, they know his ruthless and merciless. So they will believe his trying to kill them." Joanne answered.
"Come on." Ace said, breathing hard. "If you don't wanna die, then put some effort into it!"
"I DON'T WANNA DIE!" Luffy yelled out in panic.
"THEN KICK THAT WINDOW OUT!" He yelled at him, "BREAK THAT GLASS AND PULL BACK A PIECE AND I'LL TAKE IT FROM THERE!"
"OK!" He yelled back, "JUST STOP YELLING AT ME!"
"They could have handled this better but their children who are running out of time." Aizawa said.
Ace was listening hard to every little sound, looking around hurriedly as if he thought that they're were ghosts hiding in the corners. "Come on, Luffy." he said loudly, "We don't have time for this! If we want to get out of here and see Sabo again, then we have to get out NOW!"
"I know." Luffy said, panting softly, but there was determination in his face. "I can do this!" He breathe hard and put his feet together, the bottoms of each touching, and this time he kicked them both simultaneously. "Gum Gum… SPEAR!" he cried out, and this time, he stretched farther than ever. The sound of the window breaking as his feet went smashing through it was more than enough to renew their optimism.
"Good going!" He praised, he twisted around to get a good look, and saw the large shards falling to the floor.
"YES!!!" Almost everyone cheered.
"Now all they have to do is--!" Komori got cut off.
Then an explosion was heard, "no..." Mirio looked horrified.
"It's too late..." Bondo looked distraught.
"SHIT!" Ace called out, hearing the noise and now fighting harder than ever. "We took too long! Luffy! Grab a shard and let's get out of here!"
"Right!" he was able to carefully pick up a large shard with his toes before his feet snapped back, he tAce was able to grab hold of it and immediately began sawing away at their bindings. But soon they could see light shining through, glowing red like a sunset, but they could hear several more explosions setting off much closer than before, and knew that it was only a matter of time before it reached the boys. The fire spread rapidly through the rest of the place, the wood breaking apart and turning to ash, burning higher and hotter with each second. "It's hot! It's hot!" He's But with one final slash, Ace was able to cut the bonds and they fell away from the post.
"Yes!!" Many are relieved yet still concerned for these kids.
"There not out of the woods yet!" Manga said.
"But how are they going to warn the people of grey terminal?" Pony asked.
Suddenly, a part of the roof started cracking and with an almighty CRASH it caved in. Thankfully, the boys were far enough away from it that it didn't fall on top of them, but the fire was now inside the hide out and was now licking the walls, creeping across the floor and smoke was filling up the space. But the sight of the fire surrounding them is terrifying, both Luffy and mirio looked scared with the young child screaming. The fire spread rapidly through the rest of the place, the wood breaking apart and turning to ash, burning higher and hotter with each second. Luffy was freaking out and Ace was able to cut the bonds and they fell away from the post, "Damn!" he cried out, staring around him, looking for the way out. "We didn't want to be involved in this!"
"You didn't have much of a choice, they could have refused but who's to say they could've forced them." Gran torino said.
Luffy was still on the floor, now smashing his little fists against it, screaming out, "We can't get away! I don't wanna die!"
"It's kinda strange watching Luffy all helpless but he is a child so he technically is." Reiko said.
Ace spotted their pipe staffs on the floor near the doorway and then screamed at Luffy to stop complaining if he didn't want to be left behind, it worked. He stopped crying and assured himself it wasn't hot.
"I don't know how long he can trick his brain, if he has one or himself." Cementoss said.
Ace grabbed Luffy by the back of his shirt and pulled him to the door, grabbing the staffs as he did so. He tossed Luffy his and they went running out through the door just as they heard the rest of the hideout fall apart, the outside world was even worse. The fire had spread quicker than they thought—the trash surrounding them was now an inferno and Trash Mountain was quickly being reduced to ash as the smoke picked up and made it impossible to see farther than a few yards. The fire was melting the scraps into pools of liquid-burning metal, paper and wood acted as kindling, and there were still minor explosives coming from inside the mountains of junk from whatever volatiles were thrown out with the junk.
"I hate to say this but it's a firey hell!" Sero exclaimed.
"A hell on earth." Mirio joked.
"This is no time for jokes mirio." Tamaki said.
Ace leads Luffy to a pathway to get out of there, "It's going to be alright." Ace said softly, though still firm at the same time, "I'm here with you." They had to avoid the trash piles that were tumbling down because of the fire, it almost fell on Luffy if Ace didn't save him. "I told you didn't I?" He asked him harshly, leading him back down the path. "I'm here with you ok?"
Both katsuki and Izuku noticed this is the Ace zoro and sanji met back in alabasta.
Luffy was looking around, "I wonder if those old men escaped safely."
"This is no time be concerned about other people!" Ace yelled at him, straining his eyes as he stared around, searching for the right way.
"But they didn't deserve this... I can't believe those pirate would do this." Mirio clenched his fists.
"It wasn't just them." Luffy voiced out and the blonde looked at him, "those rich bastards in Goa kingdom planned it and hired bluejam to create it."
"WHAT!?" Everyone shouted in shock.
"So that means they are all in on it?" Mezo felt a burning rage.
"Not Sabo, I don't think he was told about it." Izuku reassures them.
"And I believe the children don't know either, their innocent to this right joanne?" Ibara said looking at the quite host, "joanne?"
She raised her head and held a look of anger, "wrong."
Sabo is talking with his adopted brother Shelly who dislikes him and mocks him about his brothers going to die, this made the blonde beat the kid to tell him the plan to burn down the grey terminal.
Everyone was shocked at this, "an adopted child? Agreed to this!?" Midnight didn't know how to feel about this.
"He must have been very spoiled as soon as he was adopted, maybe there are others who--" vlad wanted to believe someone in Goa kingdom is actually against it.
"There is no one, the king agreed to this and the nobles are very much pleased with it. Sabo is the only one against it." Joanne cut him off.
"No! I refuse to believe that everyone in that kingdom are scums! There must be a few who oppose it!" Ibara shouts.
A little rich girl asks her father about the grey terminal burning, he explains why and she believes... "So it's their fault for being born poor." She said.
It was like a nail to a coffin, nezu dropped his tea in shock. Ibara looked like she lost all hope, "these people..." Hawks growled, "are nothing but scum!" He narrowed his eyes.
"How... How can she say such a thing!?" Momo looked very angry.
"I guess Sabo is the only one against this." Shoto muttered trying to calm himself.
"But how can he help? He's trap in that disgusting kingdom." Monoma spat.
Sabo ran into a stranger in a cloak and told him the nobles and king's horrible plan, he also admit he's ashamed being born a noble.
"I would feel the same..." Momo said, shoto nodded in agreement.
"The person Sabo is talking to is Dragon, not only is he there to check on Luffy but he got Intel about something." Joanne explained.
"Intel?" Sir nighteye asked.
"You'll know soon enough."
The scene returns to the burning grey terminal, Ace starts to cough violently. "Damn…" he cursed, struggling for air. "I don't know where I am."
Recovery girl grip her cane in worry.
Ace stepped forward, but before he could start running they heard someone yell behind them, "Who said you could get away, you brats!?" They turned to see the former bluejam pirates each carrying a weapon, their eyes oddly blank, and twisted smiles on their faces—as if they were loving every minute of this hellish world. Mirio looked very afraid.
The sight of these people made the heroes shake in fear, the students are shocked and felt kinda afraid. "ummm, is it me or does anyone else feel like there's something very wrong here?" Jurota asked sweating.
"I thought they left to goa kingdom, what happened?" Sen asked getting worried.
Ace was as stunned as the rest of them, but it quickly turned to anger. "Why are you still here after setting the fire!?" he screamed out, "You were supposed to have escaped by now!"
"I fucking bet these fuckers couldn't get out." Katsuki said.
"That and they were betrayed." Anita said.
"Oh, shut up, you little shit!" Bluejam shouted, taking them all by surprise. "We're hopeless, you know." He chuckled, "We have an unforeseen dilemma." He went on, "Human are strange creatures aren't they? When you hit rock bottom, you can't stop laughing."
"Ummm, I'd asked if their alright but I don't think they deserve it after what they did to Luffy and Ace." Kirishima said with a nervous sweat and tetsutetsu agreed with him.
"They are acting weird," Luffy whispered nervously to Ace, not liking this either.
"Luffy?" Mirio looked scared, "what's wrong with them?"
"They've gone insane." He answered.
Something broke and the students found the heroes having a mental breakdown, some are crouched to the grown while others tried to calm them down. Specifically, hound dog and nezu. "All might, what's wrong?" Izuku asked and came to his mentor's aid.
"N-n-not-" the no. 1 hero got cut off.
"Shut up!" Aizawa shouted, "they deserve to know."
The blonde nodded slowly, "as you whipper snappers know being a hero isn't easy, there are villains and criminals who plan or let their quirk do what they want and break the law. But this, mentally insane people are not exactly easy to handle. Midnight here is lucky to have a quirk to put people to sleep but... The trauma of what those people do is different, they have lost their minds and deemed dangerous. It's usually caused by emotional stress or just snapped from something, fighting them is difficult. They're unpredictable." Gran torino explained.
"How come I never heard about this?" Izuku asked.
"Because the hero commission does not want society to learn about this encounter, an insane victim is highly dangerous." Hawks explained.
"So all of you have met insane people?" Tenya asked and the heroes nodded trying to calm down.
"Don't let them go!" Bluejam ordered as the two ran in the opposite direction, the whole crew surrounded the boys, not letting them pass. He slowly lumbered forward to them, "Now now…" he said still smiling, "We worked together, we're friends. We have to die together."
Everyone shivered, "they really have lost their minds..." Tokoyami said.
"This is bad, Luffy and Ace have to get out of there." Dark shadow wrapped himself around his friend.
"We don't wanna die with you!" Ace snapped. "Not in a million years!"
"Hell Yeah!" Both katsuki and Kamakiri shouted.
"You tell em Ace!" Both kirishima and tetsutetsu exclaimed.
"You're so cold." Bluejam said, still grinning as he walked forward. "Come to think of it, you haven't told me where you keep your treasure. I'll save it for you before the fire gets it, so tell me where it is!"
"Wait, so he only came back for the stupid money!?" Power loader looked shocked.
"His greed and revenge has no limit." Ectoplasm said.
"Your life in danger and all you care about is treasure?" Ace asked in disbelief.
Bluejam laughed harder, "if you don't care, then tell me where it is."
This made his eyes darken, "You've gone mad."
"If you're not going to get it, it'd be a waste." He is strangely calm yet clumsily moving a little closer, "If nothing is done, it's going to be reduced to charcoal like my ship. What a waste." Ace gave in.
"Ace!" Luffy yelled, "you and Sabo spent a lot of time-"
"Sabo would understand!" Ace yelled at him, and he stopped to stare at him. Ace kept his back to him as he continued to glare at the pirates, "What matters the most now is your…" he stopped there for a second before he corrected, "what matters the most now is our lives."
"He's more concerned over Luffy." Mirio said.
"Like a real big brother... Ribbit." Tsuyu can empathize.
Ace then walked over to a pile of junk that was left mostly unburned and picked up a piece of wood, "If I tell you, you have to promise to let us go!" he said to them all firmly, Bluejam merely grinned at that as the other pirates all looked on eagerly as Ace quickly drew up a crude map using a charcoal-burnt stick as a pencil, he handed the wooden map over. "We keep our treasure from the last six years in this tree." he said calmly.
"I see." The former pirate greedily took the map and looked it over with a hungry glint in his eyes.
"Don't cry." He said to him firmly to the sniffling luffy, not letting him see how hard it was for him too. "It's alright, this is not the end."
Almost everyone smiled how gentle Ace is towards Luffy in a situation like this.
Then Bluejam passed the map to one of his men, while two more grabbed Luffy and Ace from behind. "What are you doing!?" Ace demanded as he fought and lashed out, "I told you where it is!"
He only chuckled to himself, "you're right, this isn't the end. Which means you could be lying, you have to come with me."
Everyone growled at this man feeling helpless and watching them do this to children.
"No way! Then it would be too late to escape!" Ace screamed out, now losing his cool and struggling harder than ever. "Why don't you go on your own!?"
That's when bluejam lost all facade and pointed his gun at Ace's head, he looked angrier than ever. He looked more twisted than before, "you don't want to mess with me now!" He yelled threateningly, "I'm determined to make a comeback even if it means stealing from kids so I can take revenge on the nobles, and your brother is 1 of them!"
"Earlier you said they were betrayed." Hawks said to anita.
Who nodded, "yes, they locked them out of the kingdom and left them to die. They were never going to honor their deal, in that world, there are too many scums."
Bluejam didn't bother look at ace as he clicked his gun back, still pointing the barrel at him. "They think they're so special and look down on others as if we're trash!"
"Sabo isn't like that!" He yelled defiantly.
"He's the same as them, fools!" He screamed, eyes almost popping out. "He was with you both just to feel superior!"
"That's not true!" Both Luffy and mirio screamed at him.
"You don't know anything about Sabo so don't talk shit about him, bastard!" Mirio shouted in anger.
This surprised his friends.
Bluejam insisted Sabo is just like the Nobles because of his parents, "Stop talking badly about Sabo!" Ace threatened wildly, his temper quickly growing out of his control again.
The audience are also angry at these former pirates thinking they know the blonde better but they don't.
"Yeah, Sabo just wants to be free!" Luffy yelled out before he finally escaped the pirate's grip by biting down on his arm, causing him to scream in pain. He jumped down and turned to face him, his staff held high, ready to attack.
Pulling out and raising his sword high, the pirate screamed out, "You little shit!" Luffy tried to block it, the sword cut right through the pipe and leaving a deep gash that stretched across half his face.
"LUFFY/MIRIO!!!" Many shouted.
Luffy screamed in agony and fell to the ground, rolling around as he gripped his hands over the bleeding wound. But the pirate then raised his sword directly above him, the point held down as he declared, "I'm going to kill you!"
"Let me go!" Ace yelled in panic as the pirates laughed when the sword thrust down, Luffy's uninjured eye widened in terror through his fingers. "Don't touch Luffy!" He screamed so loudly and unleashed conquerors haki, the fire around them died down. The men stood there with stunned looks on their faces... Then they all fell unconscious, except bluejam. Ace jumped down from the man who held him as the sword narrowly missed the younger boy, ace flung to his little brothers side. "LUFFY! LUFFY! Are you ok?"
This stunned the audience, "Ace had haki at a young age?" Cementoss asked in shocked.
"He's brother was in danger, so he's stressed built up when they were tied up in that ship." Nezu said.
"Add the fire, the people in grey terminal and Sabo. Bluejam and Luffy being in danger overwhelmed him to unlock haki." Ryukyu analyze.
Luffy was still crying as blood seeped through his fingers and Ace looked over him. But as his full attention was on Luffy, Bluejam grabbed him by the back of his shirt and pulled him away. "What did you do!?" Bluejam bellowed as he slammed him into the ground.
Worry is back again, they want to know how those 2 got out of there.
Ace slowly tried to get up, "Dammit…" he cursed when Bluejam stomped down hard on Ace's chest so that he couldn't move and the gun was being pointed at his head again.
"You creepy little brat!" Bluejam yelled, now almost foaming at the mouth and they knew that whatever sanity that had been there finally snapped. "Do you want to make a fool out of me too!?"
"Shut up, you scumbag!" He yelled with no trace of fear.
"You bastard!" Bluejam yelled with his finger on the trigger.
Luffy had rolled over onto his stomach and looked up, "Ace!" he screamed, remembering Sabo taken away from them. "DON'T DO IT!" he begged Bluejam, he pulled the trigger but it missed it's shot thanks to someone holding the gun and forced it away at the last second, "DADAN!"
Everyone was completely shocked, "she came to rescue them!" Ochako began to smile.
"With the rest of the bandits!" Tenya said in surprise.
"I guess they really do care." Sero said.
"Or Garp will kill them if something terrible happened to his grandkids." Tokoyami broke the mood.
This gave everyone time to sink in, "that actually makes sense..." Sato muttered.
"Well your both right, she and the bandits grew fond of them. Especially, since they raised Ace." Joanne smiled.
Dadan's eyes were narrowed dangerous as she held up her long ax, her thick orange hair swishing around like the blaze around her. "Stop it, you sea cretin!" she took a swing at him, finishing by calling out, "Let go of Ace."
The little man, Dogra helped Luffy sit up and looked him over. The child looked terrible, the bleeding room covered half his face with blood and his right eye is closed. "What are you doing here?" He asked wincing in pain.
"Finally, we found you!" Magra called in relief.
"These are pretty serious wounds, Luffy." Dogra said in worry, "are you ok?"
The audience held a soft smile.
Luffy looked towards the bandit. "Dogra…" he croaked out.
Dogra was now glancing around quickly, "I don't see Sabo anywhere?!"
"Sabo went home." He explained quickly, "He's not here." The bandit sighed in relief and called for one of the bigger bandits to come over and carry Luffy.
"They care about Sabo too." Kendo almost felt tears in her eyes.
Bluejam glared over them all with frustration, he knew who they are. Dadan looked up at him and stood tall, "I'm the mountain bandit, Dadan." she corrected proudly, like she couldn't imagine any other life she rather be living. "I don't know why, but I'm registered as their foster parent." She then looked back at Luffy and Ace who were now being protected on all sides by the other bandits, "When someone tries to take my boys' life, I won't stand by and watch." She sighed before she pointed her axe at Bluejam and proclaimed, "Even if I am not their real parent!"
"This would be so touching if I wasn't still conflicted she's doing this to avoid Garp's wrath." Shoda sweatdrop.
"I'll just let you go if you back away." She said firmly, holding up her ax. "If you don't, then I'll have to resort to violence!"
Bluejam didn't react and just glared at her, slowly grinning as he held up his sword. "Try it!" He threatened.
Dadan stepped forward, looking ready for that fight as she held her weapon in one hand. "Oh yeah?" she said as she glared at Bluejam, "Alright then… run!" She screamed out and all the bandits made a break for it together.
Many fell off their seats, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" Many shouted.
"I kinda saw that coming." Shoto said.
"What do you mean you saw that coming!?" Mina asked.
"Well I noticed Dadan and the mountain bandits aren't very violent, I don't think they'd stand a chance against him. They use brute strength and when Makino and the mayor visited them, they are pretty behaved. I kinda guessed their lazy bandits who don't like to work very much."
"Wow that's a good theory." Joanne said.
Then Dogra noticed Ace isn't running away instead he still stood his ground despite Magra trying desperately and pleadingly for him to run.
"Not this again..." Kyoka groaned.
"Wait, wouldn't bluejam just go after them? He's the only one still standing while he's crew are unconscious." Monoma pointed out.
"He's right, they need to stop him there." Momo said, "but not alone."
"I…" Ace said without a trace of hesitation or fear, "WON'T RUN!" Dogra begged him not to fight bluejam.
Luffy heard Ace, he was now struggling to get out of the bandit's arms and get back to Ace. "L… let me fight too!" but the bandits will not allow him.
"Your already injured enough! He needs to get out of there!" Recovery girl scolded, she knew her counterpart will have a field day and will sympathize with Chopper.
Dadan was now slowly walking back as well, her ax over her shoulder. She turned back to the rest of them and said, "You all, why don't you take Luffy and go on ahead."
"B-Boss!?" one of the bandits gasped.
"She's staying?" All might asked.
"Since Sabo isn't there to back Ace up, she'll do it." Stella said and everyone is surprised.
"I'll take responsibly for bringing Ace home." Dadan said firmly, also with a hint of annoyance, clear that she wasn't happy about this, but her mind was made up.
"Boss..." The bandits muttered, each one of them were looking upset and sick at the thought of leaving her.
"Go!" She ordered fiercely.
"Yes, ma'am!" they yelled as they turned and ran.
Luffy was flung over the bandit's shoulders as he screamed out his brother's name, "ACE!" he called out, still trying to fight to get back to him. But was weak from blood loss, having no other choice. "Ace!" Luffy cried, tears now falling with the blood. "ACE!" But the bandits had a tight hold of him as they kept running across the hellish landscape and into the safety of the Middle Forest, but they didn't stop. They kept going anyway until they were as far away from the Gray Terminal as they could get—stopping only when they climbed a large hill, they couldn't see the Terminal thanks to the trees. But the sky was bright red and the black smoke lifted into the air, thdy all stood there. Each one of them crying out for Dadan and Ace… hoping for a miracle, luffy cried loudest of them all. His eyes wide in horror as he watched the fire continue to spread and the roar of the flames burning the wind itself, "AAAAAAACCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEE!" he bellowed out at the top of his lungs, as if hoping that his brother could hear him and find his way back.
Everyone felt the same way, ibara prayed for Ace, Dadan and the people of the gray terminal. "I hope those people are ok..." Mezo clenched his fists.
"It was thanks to Sabo informing dragon, Luffy's father, about the plan. He rescued a lot of them, but there are still those who are trapped." Joanne explained and everyone was a little relieved but sadden.
The scene starts in the mountain bandit hut, Luffy is practically crawling along the side of the wall, making his way slowly to the door. He looked exhausted as he hung on, bandages covered his arms that were mending his burns along with the half of his face where the pirate attacked him. He seemed barely able to stand on his own, breathing almost painfully. But still, he was heading to the door, with every intention to go out and find Ace and Dadan.
"I gotta give him points for doing all this but he is still injured." Gran torino said, both Izuku and katsuki remembered at water 7 when Luffy still wanted to fight as they escaped ennies lobby.
"Ace…" he said to himself stubbornly, finally making it to the door.
Just then, Magra came in, and spotted him out of bed. "Oi! Luffy!" he called, but Luffy ignored him as he leaned against the wall. Struggling for breath, though he had only moved a few feet from his bed. The effort was quickly taking its toll.
"It's good they are taking care of him, he really needs it." Power loader said.
"Easy, easy. Wait, Luffy." he said as he headed over to him, the rest of the bandits had come from the back as well to see what was going on. "You haven't recovered—where're you going?"
"I gotta go look for Ace and Dadan." Luffy answered weakly, yet still strong. Taking a deep breath, he ran to the door.
"You can't do that!" Magra called just as he threw the door open with such force that he fell through it and hit the ground.
"Ouch," he whimpered softly, curling into a ball where he lay and didn't move again.
It was very hurtful to watch but that's all they could do, watch and pray.
Magra ran up almost as soon as Luffy hit the ground, "See? That's what I told you." he said, carefully picking him back up and carrying him back to the bed. The rest of the bandits sat there watching as Luffy was tucked in, and tended too with a box of medical supplies next to his head.
"Why haven't they looked for them?" Shoda asked, then they noticed joanne and her friends clenched their fists.
"What's wrong?" Koda asked.
Magra sighed as he leaned back, "You're seriously wounded." he informed him, "You have to rest nice and easy."
"There are a lot of troops in the grey terminal now taking care of the mess from the fire, and it's not just burnt junk they're taking care of. But survivors too, you're going to get killed if you go there." Dogra spoke.
Many fell to their knees, recovery girl dropped her cane. Gran torino and nezu are by her side, "those... Those... Those MONSTERS!!!!" She screamed, ibara screamed in agony.
"Those survivors... Even after they somehow survive that fire..." Shihai clenched his fists and got very angry.
"Discarding life that easily..." All might felt rage.
"Those!" Katsuki punches the ground, "mother fucking!" Tears slowly slip from his eyes, "DAMN NOBLES!!!!" He shouted in wrath.
"Ace... Sabo..." Izuku couldn't stop crying and getting angry, inside his mind the other users were screaming in rage and agony. These nobles are exactly like all for one.
Mirio fell to his hands and knees hearing this, "they... They... They don't have a conscious doing this!? Their ok with this!?" He shouted in anger, Luffy could only give him a blank stare.
The off screen mirio is also on his hands and knees with tenya, mezo, kirishima, tetsutetsu, aizawa and fatgum.
"But…" Luffy began with a whimper, unable to accept the truth. Tears were forming in his eyes, and he didn't even bother to hide them as he sobbed openly, screaming out. "I wanna see Ace!"
The audience understands, "are Ace and Dadan ok?" Toru asked calming down from her crying.
"Their alive, they had to hide from the guards." Joanne reassures them.
The scene starts at the late afternoon, the bandits were all sitting there sulking in depression around the room, each one of them with bleak looks on their faces. Luffy looked mostly healed, most of his bandages were removed, and he was now curled up in a small ball against the door. Then the door burst open and one of the bandits came running inside, gasping for breath. "Hey, hey guys!" he cried out, standing in the doorway as everyone looked up at him.
"What is it?" Magra asked, getting up and going to him earnestly.
The man then looked up, tears of relief in his eyes and a smile on his face that could only mean one thing… "They're returned!" he cried out, and it was true. Ace was slowly approaching the house, covered in burns, ash, and mostly destroyed clothes. He was missing a shoe as he continued to walk closer, gasping under Dadan's weight, who he was carrying on his back. Dadan looked, if possible, even worse. She was covered in bandages, her hair singed and coughing, she seemed barely aware of what was going on around her. But still… both of them were alive.
Everyone was very much relieved the 2 are ok, most cried again. Dynamy bounced in joy.
"Ace… Boss…" Magra croaked out, tears of joy in his eyes as they ran forward to help.
"Those wounds look terrible! Hurry! Tend to the boss's wounds!" one of the bandits yelled as they helped her off Ace's back, and led her back to the hut. Ace, still struggling for air, followed after them. As for Luffy, he was just standing there, looking too stunned to speak; he stood there in a kinda daze as they were taken inside and it wasn't until Dadan was being treated did he come back to reality.
He charged at ace from behind, cried out his name and hugged him tightly. The older boy changed his shirt and looked down at him, "Luffy..." He said calmly and looked annoyed, "did you think I was dead?"
"Oh, let the child worry about you. He misses you a lot." Midnight said.
Luffy let go and croaked out, still crying hard, "But…"
"What are you crying for?" Ace demanded, suddenly angry as he gave him a hard punch to the head. "Don't act like I'm dead when I'm not, you idiot!"
"Now, now, let him be." Magra scolded Ace lightly, a small smile on his face. "Luffy is just happy." Ace glared at him for a second before he looked down at Luffy, he ruffled his hair in an awkward yet tender way. Luffy ran back to him and hugged him tightly, he cried even harder startling Ace.
It was a sweet and tender moment.
Once Luffy had calmed down enough to stop crying, and let go of Ace, Dadan was properly treated and they were all surrounding her bed. One of the bandits asked Ace about what happened to them when they ran with Luffy, the boy retell that after defeating bluejam they were surrounded by fire. He told them all how it was Dadan who went running through the fire to get them out, how they hid in the Middle Forest near the river as Ace struggled to keep Dadan alive. He told them about how he had been forced to steal food and medicine from High Town and was able to stabilize her—all the while, hiding from the soldiers who were still looking for survivors.
This made so many still angry.
The bandits are just glad the 2 are alive, "I'm sorry I made you worry," Dadan said softly.
Ace looked ahead, lost in thought. "I never thought that something like this could happen to the grey terminal... I'm sure Sabo's worried."
Everyone was quite and curious what happened to Sabo after his encounter with dragon.
Luffy decided to go outside with the white dog that acted as the mountain bandit's mascot, Pochi. He looked up at the sky as well with a melancholy face and asked Pochi, "I wonder what Sabo's up to." But he down looked at him with a small smile, "Still, I'm glad Ace came back and Dadan's getting better." the dog barked in agreement, he wandered around the hut and played with 2 large beetles. He put them on a barrel and tried to get them to fight each other.
Koda shivered a little, he still needs more training against bugs.
As Luffy continued to play around with the beetles, there is a rustle in the trees. It was Dogra, he looked pale and was shaking. He greeted him by waving a stick and happily told him the good news, he looked relieved but still looked nervous and pale.
Most of the audience wondered what was wrong with him while some figured out something happened.
He lead him inside the hut where Dadan was already sitting up, looking pale, but much better as Magra poured some Sake for her. "This is all the medicine I need." she told him firmly as she drank it down, "When life gives you lemons, buy more Sake if you ask me."
Recovery girl face palm and gave up, these people are stubborn.
Magra was glad to see Dogra return, but he noticed something is wrong. "Yeah, you look like you just saw a ghost." another bandit told him.
Luffy finally noticed and asked, "Dogra?"
"Dogra?" Dadan got his attention, helping herself with a swig of drink. "What is it?"
Dogra was shaking all over now, but he finally spoke, his hands curled into tight fists at his sides. "I went into High Town earlier, I heard that there was some kind of ceremony going on. I snuck in and I overheard some of the guards talking about it." He was gritting his teeth together, his eyes suddenly shadowed over so that they couldn't see the emotion in them. "The King and the nobles were the ones behind the fire the other night, the Nobles planned it all… they spread the rumor to Edge Town that it was Bluejam who had caused it…"
"With that kind of alibi they would never suspect Goa kingdom and those wretched people." All might is beyond angry.
"With Bluejam's reputation as a pirate, it's more believable." Nezu said, joanne allowed the heroes to drink saki to honor those who were killed with no meaning.
"So the people in Edge Town didn't know anything about it?" one of the bandits asked.
"They were in danger too last night." Dogra explained, "If the fire was any higher, the wind could've blown the flames inside the wall. No, they were all as surprised by it as the rest of us."
"But why?" Dadan asked the million beri question, "The nobles never bothered with the Gray Terminal before, why go through all this now?"
"What was so special about this stupid ceremony?" Ace asked angrily.
Dogra was now shaking, "They were welcoming the Celestial Dragons at port."
Slowly anger, rage and wrath build up. "THOSE MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!" Katsuki roared and dynamy shouted a lot of curse words.
"So that's it..." Nezu said softly, yet you can tell he is fucking angry. "The nobles wanted to impress them so they decided to get rid of everything—undesirable in their kingdom. So rather than spend so much time and money cleaning up the mess they decided to burn it all as a cheap and quick escape."
"But why in the world would they visit a small kingdom for?" Aizawa asked gripping his saki cup.
"Why would they be here?" Magra asked.
"I don't know..." Dogra shake his head, "apparently they were here to inspect the kingdom."
"Inspect?" Cementoss asked.
"According to the history I gathered, when the world government was established. The children of the celestial dragons decided to leave and create their kingdoms around the world, goa kingdom has one of the continuing bloodline. Vivi's family were celestial dragons but the pure bloodline died down." Joanne explained.
"They want to make sure the kingdom is up to their standards." Diamond growled and rolled her eyes.
"Of course, and a trash pile is a bad image for them..." Hound dog growled viciously.
"Who are these guys anyway?" Ace asked grumpily, "What makes them so special?"
"They ain't shit! Their just a bunch of weak ass pussies who cry and whine, fucking retards too." Katsuki growled, many agreed with him.
One of the bandits explained to Ace, "Dogra?" Luffy asked innocently, not understanding what was going on. "What's wrong?" Dogra was shaking worse than ever.
The audience can feel something really bad in their gut, some thought it was indigestion.
"I don't know how to say it…" he said, his voice now trembling. "I was there at port watching the Celestial Dragon's ship coming in… but as they got near, a small fishing boat set out from out of nowhere!"
"A fishing boat?" Dadan repeated in surprise, "What's that got to do with anything."
"The Celestial Dragon's ship fired on it and killed the person on board. It was a child…" he cried out, shaking his head hard and he finally cried out. "It was Sabo! It was him! SABO'S DEAD!" he screamed out.
They know that Sabo was saved by Luffy's father, dragon. And he got amnesia but hearing those bastards just kill a child, preferably Sabo. Is just mind numbing, he didn't deserve that and was lucky he survived. But they didn't feel surprised or shock that a celestial dragon would kill a child, they kinda saw that coming. No, they are pissed off at how the marines and world government will just brushed this off. "Why? Why did that happened?" Power loader asked.
"Sabo decided to run away, so the only option is to set sail. He wanted to be free, he knows if he stays... They'll go after his brothers... Sailing away was his only option to keep him safe." Anita said.
Hawks tensed and felt so angry, "so Sabo sailed out using the closes docks." Fatgum said.
"As soon as they opened their ports, Sabo made himself a makeshift boat and sailed out. He didn't know about the celestial dragons visit at all, when he sailed passed them, they saw as an insult destroying their fabolous grand entrance." Joanne said with sarcasm at the end.
"Their is nothing fabulous about them." Yuga growled.
"I take it those 2 didn't take the news well..." Kendo said.
Ace was in disbelief and got angry, he can't believe it, he doesn't want to believe it. The bandits had to stop him from attacking the Dogra, "It's not a lie, nor a joke!" he gasped out. "It was so sudden, I barely realized that it had happened. I doubted my own eyes! I wondered if it was a dream or an illusion!"
"He knows those boys are inseparable, and I believe he is practically traumatize by what he saw." Hound dog said.
"It's like denying your family member's sudden death or a hero commiting a crime right in your very eyes." Stella said and everyone can understand that.
Ace and Luffy are still in denial believing Sabo is back in his prison house where his rotten family are, "Outlaws like us understand how he must have felt!" Dogra yelled. "We all have places we really don't want to go back to!" With a great effort, he was able to push Ace off him. "Do you really think he would go out to sea if he were actually happy?" he bawled him, finally looking up with tears now streaming down his face as he cried out. "Do you really think he would fly a pirate flag and set out on his own!?"
This time, many cried understanding now... Sabo rather be free than stay in a place that made him unhappy, shoto cried empathizing the young boy. He thought of his siblings, he's older brother Touya is alive but now a villain. He'd rather spit his father's name for discarding him, natsuo left to live with his grandparents. He wasn't happy, Fumiyo stayed for him and his father. Is she happy? And him... He was never happy after he got his quirk... Keigo can sympathize, he just wants to be free. He's parents didn't want him to leave the house or be seen by others, the hero commission trained him like a pet. He's still a caged bird.
Ace froze where he was, as if those words had struck him dumb. Like a curse, they fell over everyone in that room so that no one could move. The wind blowing through the window, ruffling the curtains was the only noise that they had as they all stood there as the rest of the world stopped. Luffy stepped forward, almost staggering, his expression of shock now turned to pain. "Sabo…" he croaked out, tears forming in his eyes and now quickly falling from his face, "HE REALLY WASN'T HAPPY!" he and mirio screamed out.
Shoto broke down crying and screaming, he's family broken and unhappy. His classmates and heroes tried to calm him down, keigo has comfort from anita. He cries silently as she holds him close and ease his sadness.
At his words, the bandits all bore similar expressions of grief and sorrow. But Ace was on his knees, twisting his hair around so violently that it looked like he was trying to pull it out. "Why…?" he cried out, "Why didn't we try to break him out of there!?" He's eyes are filled with rage and grabbed Dogra again. "Where is the person who killed Sabo!? I'm gonna murder them!"
"Ace don't do it! It's not worth your life!" Izuku shouted, the vestiges in his mind know what happens when you completely lose yourself to anger.
"If he harms them, he's in deep trouble. I don't think Garp can help him." Tenya sweats remembering how powerful kizaru was.
"T-the Celestial Dragon!? There's no way you can do…" Dogra cried out, but Ace was passed listening. Going for his staff, he went running to door, screaming out that he was going to avenge Sabo's death. It was Dadan who got on her feet again, and tackled Ace—slamming his head into the floor so hard that it was smash into pieces.
"Ok, that was too rough." Ryukyu winced.
"That brat is stubborn, words won't get through to him. He'll be angry for a long time, it's best to restrain him." Gran torino said bitterly but they know his right, they've seen those with the will of D aren't quitters until they calm down.
"Drop it, you damn brat!" Dadan yelled out as Ace fought to get up.
"Get off me!" He shouted out as he swung around to glare at her, "Don't get in my way!" he cried out at the blood that was falling from a gash from one of the boards, Luffy and the others only stood there. Staring in alarm at what was happening, unsure as to what to say or do.
But Dadan had only gotten started, "You keep acting tough, even though you don't have any real strength!" she shrieked out, shoving his head down even deeper into the floor. "What the hell do you think you can do now!?" she demanded, "You'll just end up dead! You will die and everyone will forget about you by tomorrow! That's all you amount to right now!" She took several deep breaths as she glared at him, his eyes wide with desperation. "It was this kingdom that killed Sabo! It was the world itself! What can you do!?"
Everyone was quite listening to this.
"Your father's death brought about a new era!" Dadan yelled, holding him up and shaking him hard. "Once you have become a man of that caliber, then you're free to live or die as you like!" Ace was still struggling, fighting to get free. And they could see that he knew that Dadan spoke the truth, but to admit to it would be like admitting that he couldn't do anything. "Go tie this moron up!" she yelled at the bandits and threw him at them, their shaken but complied. They carried him outside and tied him to the nearest tree, he was trashing around trying to break free. Luffy was there crying, tears quickly forming a flood as he screamed out his lost brother's name. Ace screaming outside at Luffy to shut up, at how men weren't supposed to cry. Mirio is on his hands and knees, a broken man.
Everyone was quite and some are crying, this was a revelation they didn't see coming. It reminded all might how nana died, the vestiges watched in sorrow of these videos. This helped them understand and prepare for the future events especially for Izuku's sake, nana grieves for her family. The 1st user clenched his fists learning all of this, the vestiges learned so much and understand the world is still grey, all might tried to create an era of peace. But who are they fooling? Peace can't be a symbol, he's just another hero.
The scene starts at a cliff by the sea, Luffy and mirio lie on the grassp, on his stomach with his hat covering his face. Ace walked out from the forest, his face was grim and cold… yet much calmer than he had been before. His burns from the fire seemed to have healed, as well as the cut on his forehead; meaning that it had to have been a couple days since they got the miserable news about Sabo. He didn't seem surprised at all to see Luffy there as he slowly approached, not saying a word, but making enough noise that Luffy could hear him. When he was close enough, he made a fist and blew on it before he gave Luffy a quick bonk on the head. "How long are you gonna mop around like this?" he demanded, But Luffy didn't complain, he merely gripped the rim of his hat tightly, refusing to look at anything. Ace stood there for a minute, just gazing out at the sea before he began to speak. "All the treasure we hid in the Middle Forest is gone now." He's tone is indifferent, as if he couldn't care less about it. He shrugged grimly as he folded his arms, "Maybe it was stolen by the survivors of Bluejam's crew, or maybe the military found it… I don't know where it is now."
"It doesn't really matter..." Ochako sighed and looked down.
"But that pile of loot doesn't matter anymore." he said to Luffy, "Sabo and I were gonna use it, it was our Pirate Fund. But in the end, Sabo didn't use it. So I'm not gonna bother with it either, not much point in gathering treasure if we can't look after it."
"At least he's handling it well." Hound dog growled softly, "maybe a little..."
"A-Ace?" Luffy asked, his voice thick with emotion. "I… I want… I want to become stronger!" He sniffed, and they could tell that he was fighting tears. "Stronger and stronger… stronger and stronger… stronger and stronger…" This went on for some time as Luffy continued to repeat the word 'stronger' putting much emphasis on how strong he wanted to be, even while stating this with much vigor. He was still crying, "Stronger and stronger… and even stronger than that! And then, I'll be able to protect anything! I won't have to lose anyone ever again!"
Everyone quietly watched and understand, they too want to be stronger. Aizawa remembered how he lost his friend only to find out what all for one and his mad scientist did to him, all might now understands why he's so stupidly stubborn. After Nana's death, he didn't want to lose anyone anymore. He just didn't admit it.
"Please…" Luffy suddenly begged out, "Ace… don't die too!"
It was so hard not to cry, except Izuku and the girls. A few boys have tears in their eyes.
"Don't be ridiculous!" Ace yelled, punching him in the head again. "You should be more worried about yourself than me! You're way weaker than I am!" he stood up straight and declared, "Listen up, and remember this, Luffy! I WON'T DIE!" the young boy sat up as his older brother, "I'm not that smart." He went on, still staring out at the bright blue sea. "So I don't know what it was that killed Sabo… but whatever it was, it was the opposite of freedom! Sabo died without ever gaining his freedom."
"But isn't the opposite of freedom subjugation?" Tenya asked.
"True, he was forced to subject by his parents. But the opposite of freedom is slavery, you are forced to submit and give up your own freedom to serve and never question. Just obey." Stella said.
"But the 2 of us, who shared a toast with Sabo, are still alive!" Ace finished, he never once took his eyes off the sea, and his resolve appeared in his eyes. A light breeze picked up and he breathed it in, as if Sabo was there telling them this. "So, listen up, Luffy! We will definitely live life without regrets!" He looked down at he's little brother, "Sabo once said to me that in this country, Noblemen only become true nobles when they turn eighteen. That's why he had planned to leave when he turned seventeen! So that's what we're going to do!"bLuffy nodded firmly as they both looked out at the sea together, "Someday, we will set out to sea and live life the way we want to! With more freedom than anyone else!"
"Freedom huh...?" Hawks muttered, he felt a little envious of the scene.
Luffy merely nodded with his brother, "I'm sure that we'll make a lot of people are enemies… Gramps will become our enemy, too. We'll be risking our lives! We'll cast off when we turn seventeen!" The 2 remaining brothers looked out at the two seagulls flying over the waves, "WE WILL BECOME PIRATES!" Ace declared to the heavens, as if hoping that Sabo could hear him.
"RIGHT!" Luffy called out firmly. "And one day I will become the King of the Pirates!"
He merely smirked, "So long as you don't regret anything that you do from here on out that's all that matters, From this moment on… we live how we want to! For Sabo's sake if nothing else!"
This is a very wholesome moment, both kirishima and tetsutetsu cried at this manly moment.
Ace reached down the front of his shirt and pulled out a wrinkled piece of paper, "What's that?" Luffy asked as Ace carefully unfolded it and stared at it.
"A letter…" he said softly, "From Sabo."
Everyone is completely silent, they want to hear this.
Luffy and mirio gasped, "but how?" He asked loudly, "Sabo's…"
"Sabo sent it before he set out to sea." Ace explained, "When he knew that he was going to take his chance at freedom, I get now why he didn't come back. He couldn't come back to us without worrying about us getting killed." He held it out to him. "You wanna read it?" he asked.
The younger boy looked at it before he shook his head, "I don't need to." he said firmly, "Sabo was our brother and we're gonna become pirates and live out his dream! That's all I need to know!"
The older boy smirked, "I knew you'd say that, Sabo was just writing to tell me to keep you safe."
Mirio decided to read the letter out loud, "Ace and Luffy, I hope you weren't hurt in the fire. I'm worried, but I have faith in you. I'm sorry about this, but by the time you get this letter, I will be out at sea. A lot has happened, and I've decided to set sail ahead of you."
They all bowed their heads.
"My destination… won't be this kingdom, but elsewhere." He continued tears burning in his eyes, "There, I'll get stronger… I'll become a pirate. Let's become pirates with more freedom than anyone else, and then meet up again someday. The 3 of us. Somewhere out on the wide, free ocean… I'm sure that someday, we'll meet!"
Everyone frowned, only Luffy reunited with Sabo. Ace didn't know he was actually alive.
"Oh, and Ace, I wonder who's the older brother between the two of us. 2 eldest sons, and one younger brother. It might be strange, but this bond between us is my greatest treasure."
Many started to cry, "they do say not all treasurers are silver and gold..." Nezu said softly, aizawa and present Mic remembered their dear friend.
"Luffy might still be a weakling and a crybaby, but he's still our little brother. So take good care of him for me!" he smiled softly and fondly.
Ace sighed and forced a smile, "it's gonna be ok." He said softly to Luffy as he held out the paper and let the wind carry it away, they watched the letter drift on the wind, over the ocean, fluttering onwards to the horizon. "Your right, we we don't need a letter to know what Sabo wanted... Sabo just set sail ahead of us that's all, we'll leave when we become stronger! Stronger than anyone!"
It is truly heart warming and inspiring, these heroes in training want to become stronger.
The scene starts with Garp and the boys, Luffy and Ace leaning up against some trees in the clearing and Garp is drinking heavily.
"He's also effected by Sabo's death..." All might muttered.
He pulled the bottle from his lips and sighed heavily, "I see." he said, in an unusually soft voice. "So that squirt's really gone."
Luffy sniffled a little, but his eyes were dry, "It's Sabo." he said tightly, "Not squirt!"
"Yeah, he had a name you know." Ace agreed crossly.
The marine hero gazed at his grandsons, "I'm sorry about that." He said tilting his head back.
"I don't get why it had to happen like that." He said to no one in particular, "It just doesn't make sense, so he was in front of those noble's ships… he didn't do anything! Dogra just said that he saw them fire at him."
"I don't doubt that." The marine answered him grimly, "A tiny boat against that galleon? It wouldn't have stood a chance, that's just the type of people the Celestial Dragon's are."
"Why don't you arrest them?" Luffy asked, looking up at him angrily. "The guys who did it? You can do that right? They killed Sabo for no reason!"
"Because these insects are sadly protected by the world government, I believe I have a question... How do the marines feel about the celestial dragons?" Nezu asked.
"A majority hates them but have no choice but to listen to them, Garp is allowed to decline their request. Because he holds the title marine hero, the world government can't risk destroying their reputation by this hero who has both marines and people's favor." Joanne explained.
"He hates the celestial dragons and world government, it's what drove dragon to become a revolutionary." Stella added.
"I'm afraid I can't." Garp told Luffy, a sad look in his eyes.
"But why?" Luffy demanded, jumping up and staring at him. "You always say that Marines uphold justice and arrest bad people! So arrest the ones who killed Sabo!"
"Arresting them is one thing but court cases are another, when a hero arrest a villain they don't have to go to court if they can afford a lawyer. Police are a different matter, you need evidence to send the criminal to jail. But if the evidence is not enough, they are freed." Midnight explained.
"They just want to give Sabo the justice he deserves." Sato said.
"I would if I could." Garp went on, laying the empty bottle beside him. "I don't like the Celestial Dragons either, but there's nothing I can do here."
"Huh, I knew that Marines are useless." Ace snapped at him.
"I believe their just powerless, there are many times the world government lied and most of the marines don't like them." Nezu said.
"All that crap about 'justice' and 'peace' is nothing but crap isn't it?" He demanded hotly, "There wasn't even a body by the time they were through firing! They fired Sabo's ship until there wasn't anything left!"
"Actually, Sabo dodge at the last minute but gained a scar and amnesia. Dragon found him and the rest is history." Stella explained.
"Gramps?" He suddenly asked, "Why would they do something like that? Sabo didn't do anything to deserve it, why can they get away with doing this but the rest of us can't?"
"Because money, power and status is your leeway to anything." Shoto growled.
Garp looked uncomfortable, he stared off ahead before he finally answered, "Humans are complicated creatures, and that's what makes them human. I think I've heard that saying somewhere in the South Blue, it's something I often thought about when faced with a situation like this. Everyone wants to get stronger… but without a purpose for that strength, they don't know what to do with it… and often find ways to take it out on others in a bad way."
"I don't get it." Luffy said predictably.
"He means power can be use for good or evil, like quirks. We have villains who have power to misuse it, it's not uncommon. It's been like this always throughout history." Hawks said.
"Corruption corrupts absolutely." Ibara mutters, all might was thinking about all for one. He wasn't alone, the 1st user thought about his brother and how he abuses his power. But that didn't stop the real corruption.
Garp continued to look up at the bright blue sky, a pair of seagulls were flying overhead as he said softly. "Humans are complicated, that's what makes us human. In other words, I guess there'll always be a part of us that fears change even when we need it most."
"No man is born equal." Izuku sighed.
"It's not black or white, but grey." Momo said.
"What are you talking about?" Ace demanded fiercely, not getting it.
"I don't know for sure what that means myself." Garp answered sadly, "But I think it means that sometimes you just have to accept things the way they are."
"Not really, accepting it is never easy. There are times people dislike change for fear of it or for themselves, especially our society is flawed." Sir nighteye said.
"I can't accept this." Ace said angrily, turning his back on him as Luffy watched them both miserably.
"But there's nothing that can be done about it." Garp sighed, "Believe me, if I could, I'd arrest them and make them pay for what happened. But there's nothing that anyone can do when faced with the Celestial Dragons."
"So they can do whatever the hell they want to us and if we fight back we get killed for it?!" He yelled, "How is that fair?!"
"Life isn't fair, but that's life." He said looking at them both firmly, "And even if you could do something about it, what good would it do?" Luffy and Ace both blinked in surprise.
"Hes right..." Everyone looked to aizawa, "life isn't fair but we have to do something, I became a teacher to teach you all everything I've experienced and prepared you for it."
"These things will happen, once you're heroes you'll be capable of many feats whether it's by yourself or teaming up." Gran torino said.
"I mean…" Garp went on, "Even with all the strength and influence in the world, you can't bring Sabo back. Not even justice can do that."
"I know that!" Ace yelled, before sitting back down angrily. His hands curled into fists, "But that doesn't mean I have to like it!"
"Ace…" Luffy said sadly as Garp stood up.
"I'll let this go for now." he said, turning back and heading through the trees where they could just make out the bandit's house. "But next time I come here, we'll begin training again!"
"And learn what!? You didn't even give them the benefits of being a marine! All they know that marines arrest pirates or crooks and can't arrest people who have titles and power! This gives them more reasons to become pirates!" Power loader scolded.
Luffy waited until his gramps was out of his sight before he went over to Ace's shaking form, "Ace?" he asked worriedly.
"Why should we be Marines?" Ace demanded, his bangs hiding his eyes. "Why does he want us to join them so badly? What's so special about them anyway? It sounds like all they do is protect people like the nobles, if being a Marine means that I have to work for the same people who killed Sabo, then I'll never join."
"I... Understand... This isn't something I'd sign up either, I want to save people not obey those who don't care about life." Mirio tightened his fists.
"And Garp's abuses and trainings will forever be useless to those boys." Midnight sighed.
"It's like when you are forced to become a hero but you don't really want to, it's not about the quirks but the person. Do they have the qualities? Do they have the drive? Conviction? Are they willing to throw their normal life away? In a marine, they either follow like sheep or have their own sense of justice." Hawks said.
The scene changes to the grey terminal, a barren wasteland covered in nothing but a thick layer of ash and burnt pieces of metal and plains of dust. "Hard to believe that this used to be the Gray Terminal..." Ace said looking around, his expression didn't show any emotion, but his eyes were filled with anger at what happened here. "There's nothing left."
"At least dragon save most of the people." Mirio said.
"Unfortunately, not all of them..." Ibara began to pray for those who were killed.
"Ace look!" Luffy called, pointing a ways away. They looked up in time to see that a few giant carts were coming through the gates, Ace pulled Luffy back a little ways to make sure that the guards couldn't see them. "What's with the carts?" Luffy asked innocently.
"Are you kidding me!?" Shoto began to grow angry.
"Don't tell me... Their throwing their trash at a place where the trash has been!" Setsuna hates this.
"It's only been a week, and they're already starting to fill up again!" Ace yelled.
"So it's been a week and they decided to go back to this!?" Sir nighteye looked angry.
"Heartless, cruel and evil! They just don't care at all!" Fatgum shouted in anger.
"Their treating this as if the fire never happened and they don't want their trash in their disgusting kingdom." Nezu growled.
"They won't set another fire like before when it fills up will they?" Luffy asked worriedly, taking hold of Ace's arm.
"If there's another inspection, I don't doubt they'll do that again. After all, their all rotten to the core." All might gritted his teeth.
"I don't know." Ace admitted, looking down at him. "But in any case, we should avoid this place as often as we can in the future… let's not get into another mess like last time. In fact, I think that it's good that we avoid Goa for a while too." His hands were curled into fists again, "Just thinking about them makes me want to break something! I mean, just look at this place!" He held his arms wide out to mean the Gray Terminal.
"You'd think they would at least leave it like how they created it!" Ochako growled, "but they just do whatever they want, I may need money for my family but I'll never become a selfish pompous snobby noble."
"I'm very grateful my family are not like them, our status doesn't make us feel inferior to others." Momo said.
"You know." Luffy said, as Ace grabbed hold of his arm and tugged him back through the jungles. "I remember Grandpa saying that if there's one thing that people've been good at… its destruction."
Everyone was quite, "well, he's half right. Sure our history isn't pretty but create something that may not last very long, destroying something is so easy but creating something is through determination and hard work. We can destroy but at the same time create." Gran torino said wisely.
Ace sighed, "That I can believe, but there has to be a limit." the 2 boys went back in the forest.
Everyone agrees with Ace, "besides, if we destroy everything what's even left? It's like asking your purpose in life, the mistakes you create and what you learned from them." Recovery girl wisely said.
The scene starts to Luffy vs Ace, Ace still wins but Luffy improves even a little. They started to argue among themselves when... "Luffy! Great job! You're arm stretched further than it did yesterday!" Sabo said.
This surprised the audience, "oh no..." Present Mic remembered something like this.
"Sabo!?" Many are shocked.
Both of them turned but Sabo wasn't there.
"What just happened?" Sero asked.
"A ghost? Or memory?" Reiko asked.
"They both hallucinated on Sabo, they are still grieving. They just can't move on so their angry and frustrated." Joanne explained, both aizawa and present Mic had experienced that before.
"Sabo was such a kind older brother." Luffy said sadly.
"What's that supposed to mean? Are you saying you rather I died instead?" Ace shouted.
Everyone was surprised, "whoa! Ace calm down!" Mashirou said.
"That's not what Luffy meant! He just misses Sabo!" Manga said.
"There's no need to blow a fuse!" Mirio said.
"Whoa! That's not what he meant, I miss Sabo a lot but I don't want you to die. You promised."
"I never said that!" Luffy shouted back at him.
"But that's basically what you meant!" Ace screamed back, and hit him hard on the head.
"Ummm... I think it's about to escalate..." Kirishima looked worried.
"OWWWW!" Luffy screamed out, rubbing the spot where Ace hit him. "Sabo never punched me like that!"
"What was that?" he yelled back.
"What's with you?" He screamed out, "Be a little nicer, will you?"
"No way!"
"This isn't good..." Tetsutetsu said.
"By the way, Luffy and Ace no longer go back to their hideout. There's too many memories of Sabo in it." Megumi said.
The scene changes to the mountain bandit hut, both boys were now putting up signs over the entrance of each little fort. One said, "ACE'S COUNTRY" and the other "LUFFY'S COUNTRY".
"Ummm... What's going on?" Koda asked.
"Their just angry at each other, ribbit. They'll be like this for a while, all siblings do this. Even mine." Tsuyu explained.
'i wonder if my siblings ever done this...' shoto thought.
The mountain bandits are caught between this but let the boys be, the scene changes to the sky darkening overhead and the distant rumble echoing. But what is more terrifying than a storm is the bear king towering over Luffy. Who was completely backed into a corner, Ace was watching from a tree overhead. The young boy held up his staff, his hands shaking a little, before he turned and called up to Ace. "Ace! Help me out! It's the Bear King!"
"Ah?" Ace called, sounding much like how he did when they first met him. "I thought you said you were gonna survive on your own, right?"
"That is not the time to be stubborn Ace!" Tenya shouted, "save him!"
"He can't beat it! You guys beat the tiger together! There is no way Luffy can beat a bear by himself, he'll get killed!" Sero shouted and everyone looked worried.
Luffy frowned at him, but still turned back to the bear. It roared as he stood over Luffy, holding up its large claws. Luffy cursed softly to himself before he decided to take a chance and jumped up to strike it with the staff. The bear swatted at him as if he were a fly, but Luffy was quick enough to dodge. But after he succeeded in getting in another hit was where Luffy pushed his luck…bThe bear struck at him again, but this time, it hit… Luffy didn't have time to dodge as the bear's claws came flying down at him.
"LUFFY/MIRIO!!!" Everyone shouted in worry.
This made Ace realized how serious the situation is, he jumped from the tree and charged at the bear. Luffy's chest was completely torn open so that he could see inside him, blood was squirting out and the memory around them turned hazy and distorted. He attacked the bear, but he kicked out at the bear's head and ran over. "Luffy?! LUFFY!" he screamed out desperately, holding up Luffy's head up in his arms. He grabbed Luffy and went running away from the bear, stopping only to grab the straw hat along the way.
Luffy looked pale and looked sickly, his face was covered in droplets if blood as he whimpered softly. He forced himself to look at ace, he blinked. "I... I'm sorry, Ace." He croaked.
"Luffy! Do not apologize! Ace should have stopped being stubborn! Sabo told him to watch over Luffy in the 1st place!" Hado shouted, very angry at ace and crying at the same time.
Ace got him to the mountain bandits, then the screen went black. Luffy woke up to a crying Ace, "Ace?" Luffy asked slowly, pointing at his eyes. "Why were you crying?"
Ace looked tense by the question, and moved back a little ways. "It's nothing." he said hurriedly, wiping his eyes as he said that. "Nothing that you need to be worried about."
"Stubborn fool..." Ryukyu said softly.
"But you never cry." Luffy said, sounding surprised. "Why…?"
"I was scared..." Ace finally answered, hiding his face in his knees.
"Scared?" the small boy repeated with wide eyes, "Because of that bear…?"
"It's not the bear Luffy..." Koda said softly.
"No idiot." Ace muttered, his face still hidden. "I thought I was gonna lose you… I was terrified," he confessed, "It was my fault you got hurt." He went on.
But Luffy shakes his head, "you didn't tell me to fight the bear king, I wanted to prove that I could fight as well."
"No, but I didn't help when you asked for it," he said angrily.
"What's important now, is Luffy's condition. At least he rescued him, so no matter who you hold a grudge over, don't let your pride get in the way." Recovery girl said.
"That's ok." Luffy said, forcing a smile, even though it was obvious that he was still hurting. "I don't want you to worry. Someday, I'm gonna be even stronger than you are! So that's that."
Ace's head snapped up and stared at him before he got angry, "what the hell does that have to do with you almost dying?" But his brother smiled a little wider and went to sleep, it was all black but you can still hear Ace speaking. "Don't worry, I'll keep you safe this time. I promised Sabo that I would... I won't let something like that happen ever again, this time... I'll protect you."
The audience felt happy and most were crying, "so manly!" Both kirishima and tetsutetsu have manly tears.
The scene changes to the mountain hut, Luffy notices Ace and Makino are doing something. "What're you guys doing?" he asked, smiling brightly at them both.
Makino beamed back and answered, "Ace here wants lessons on how to greet someone."
"Huh?" Many are confused of this lesson.
"Of course!" Tenya figured it out, "Ace never learned proper manners."
"So he learns them from Makino, but why?" Kendo asked.
"Lessons on greeting someone?" Luffy repeated confused.
Makino chuckled, "Let's start our first lesson now about how to express gratitude." she offered, sitting back.
"Ok," Ace said eagerly as Luffy sat down to watch.
"Alright." She said clapping her hands together, "let's get today's lesson started."
'she kinda reminds me of a kindergarten teacher, only nicer and wiser.' Izuku thought.
Ace bowed his head low and said, "Pleased to be working with ya."
"That was great Ace!" Luffy said next to him as Ace grinned.
"Honestly, you sound like you agreed to work with someone, that's not a proper greeting." Mirio chuckled.
"Yeah, you don't just say that. It will confuse them." Shoda sweatdrop.
"Wrong." Makino said, "In times like this you should say, 'I'm pleased to be working with you'."
"What? He got it wrong?" Luffy asked in surprise, "The way he said it sounded cool though."
"It's not about sounding cool, it's about being polite. Talking like that means you respect them without knowing who they are, reckless." Aizawa shakes his head.
Makino merely smiled and answered, "Someday, Ace wants to meet the red-haired captain you're indebted to. We started these lessons because he wants to learn how to greet him properly."
"You mean Shanks?" Luffy asked in surprise.
"Yeah." Ace said, his hands at his sides and a grin still there. "By the time I meet Shanks, I'll be a pirate myself. As a pirate, and as your brother, it's an obvious duty to show him respect."
"So this is why he learned to be more polite, the Ace they met in alabasta." Mina smiled.
"Now..." Makino said, "Try to imagine that he's right here in front of you."
Ace frowned a little, clearly imagining hard as he said forcefully. "I'm Ace, who the hell are you?"
"That is very rude." Ibara said, most found it funny.
Makino crossed her fingers and made a buzzing sound, signaling that was wrong. "That's no good." she said good-naturedly, "'Who the hell' is too rude." They did a couple of times, Luffy joined in but he is only a distraction.
It was a little funny and kinda irritating, "I thought Makino taught that kid better, he's making the lesson worse. Their not having any progress with all those rude greetings." Monoma groans in annoyance.
"I'm sure he'll get it eventually, he did grow up with manners." Yui said.
The scene changes to edge town where both Luffy and Ace eat and run with no pay.
Sir nighteye prays really hard alternate Mirio will not do that for the sake of his reputation as a hero.
They both stopped, bowed and called out. "Thanks for the meal!"
Most found it funny while others sighed in annoyance, "ok, were skipping some years." Joanne said.
The scene changes to Ace was standing in a small fishing boat, finishing packing a sack and swinging it over his shoulder as he looked up at everyone. Luffy, Makino, the bandits, even the mayor were all there to say goodbye. "Ace!" Luffy called, beaming at him proudly. "Take care of yourself!"
"Sure!" The frekled young adult called happily, "see you later, Luffy! I'll be going on ahead!"
"Right!" He called eagerly, "And when I set out to sea myself in three years, I'll become much stronger!" Ace merely grinned, this was how it all truly started for him as he shoved off. All of them waving goodbye, "Do your best, Ace!" He called waving joyfully, but still a little sadness in his eyes shown through.
"Take care of yourself!" Dogra called, waving a handkerchief after him.
"Try not to catch cold!" Makino added.
Everyone smiled.
"Just you wait!" Ace declared, "I'll make a name for myself real soon!"
"There he goes!" Luffy called out grinning, as he stared long after his older brother until he was out of sight.
"Really." the mayor said, "How is Garp going to take this?"
"I can already imagine him getting really angry." Hawks chuckles.
"I'm gonna miss him." Makino sighed, "He really has come a long way since I first met him." Luffy skipped to the forest and continued to train.
Many months passed; the straw hat was relaxing in the fort when Dogra came running towards him, waving a newspaper around. "Luffy! Luffy! Look at today's paper!"
"What is it?" He asked quickly as he stood up, Ace's 1st wanted poster. It had him beaming with pride and motivated him to train more.
The scene changes to the straw hat running at the mountain bandit hut, "today's the day, huh?" Mirio laughs.
Many are confused, "what does monseur togata mean?" Yuga asked.
"Luffy's 17, he's going to set sail." Joanne smiled.
Luffy leaned in the front doorway, so that he could see inside. "I'm going now! Aren't you coming to see me off?"
"Oh, shut up!" Dadan said, her back to him. "Makino and the mayor wouldn't mind, they know us. But we'd scare the other villagers if we came down from the mountain."
"Yeah but…" he started, looking disappointed.
"Just get going already!" She snapped.
He sighed, "Oh, well, then guys…" he brightened up, nothing could dampen his mood here, "thanks for everything!"
They all turned red, "Oh, don't embarrass us." Dogra said with an awkward laugh, "No need for thanks!"
"Now, now…" Magra added, rubbing the back of his head as he raised a hand in farewell. "Take care!"
Luffy only smiled, "sure, I will!" He turned to leave before he stuck his head back one more time, "oh, right! Dadan, I told you that I hate mountain bandits..."
"Shut up, you little brat!" Dadan called annoyed.
But Luffy held his hand up, "But I like you guys!"
Dadan gasped a little, and she pulled out a handkerchief from her blouse and began crying. "Don't say dumb things like that, and just get lost, damn you!" the other bandits merely smiled, "Sheesh you guys are all so…"
"Why are you crying?"
"I'm not crying!"
Almost everyone has a soft smile, "she isn't like a mother but she does care for them." Recovery girl smiles.
The scene changes to the same docks the shanks pirates use a lot, Luffy was in an old rowboat, and putting in a large barrel that was filled with what looked like apples. "Hey." one man called to him, "If you're going out to sea, you should take my old fishing boat, Luffy. You'll sink right away if you take that thing."
"A rowing boat?" another said, "Come on…"
"I'm fine with this." Luffy said, shaking and holding his arms out wide. "I'll start my journey here! It begins now!" He faced the sea, "SABO! Look at me! I'm setting out to sea too!"
This is a manly and remarkable moment.
Luffy had a determined look in his eyes as he whispered to himself, "Sabo was first, Ace was second… and now I'm the third to go. But I won't lose!" He then cried out at the top of his lungs, "Wait for me, Ace! I'll catch up to you soon!"
"What are you doing, Luffy?" a villager asked as the rest of them all looked at each other completely lost, "Shouting and muttering to yourself like that. Is it some good luck charm?"
"That's not it." he answered, turning back to him, holding his fist up proudly. "It's a challenge." They questioned who Ace is.
"Challenge..." Many muttered, and everyone knows he stayed hidden for a reason.
Both Makino and the Mayor both shared a secretive look, "Alright." Luffy called happily, waving to them all. "I'm going now!" He untied the rope, and soon was rowing out as the town waved goodbye.
"There he goes, mayor." Makino said sadly, her hands on her hips like how a older sister, or maybe even how a mother would look to see him going off on his own. "I'm gonna miss him."
"He's a disgrace to the village, becoming a pirate..." The mayor mutters to himself, mirio smiles and noticed the mountain bandits. They did come and see him off.
Manly tears.
Then a familiar sea king shot out of the water, Luffy was standing calmly in the little boat and tilted his hat down so that his eyes were covered. "So, there you are, Lord of the Coast." he said with a wide smile, glancing up at him. "You don't know who you're messing with. Look at my technique, I've been training for ten years." Luffy threw his arm back and shouted out, "GUM GUM… PISTOL!" And it was here that the attack hit the beast perfectly, knocking it with such force that it was knocked out of the sea and fell backwards in the water with an enormous tidal wave.
Everyone cheers.
"First I gotta gather a crew!" Luffy said to himself as they joined him on the sea, "I'd like to have about ten people! And then a pirate flag…" he beamed at the though, "Alright… here I come!" He punched the air, and screamed out at the top of his lungs along with mirio. "I'M GONNA BE THE KING OF THE PIRATES!"
"And this is the start of monkey D. Luffy." Joanne smiled.
