"Man that ship looks neat" OMG ITS SO MUCH COOLER IN PERSON.

"I preferred the original Normandy. While this is larger and has more capabilities, it doesn't feel the same" Shepard said.

"Oh yeah. I bet from your perspective going from one Normandy to another must have been a shock" I said.

"It's nothing compared to dying and returning" Shepard said.

"I don't think you died but" I said.

"I did. I'm telling you the truth" Shepard said.

I shout "I believe you believe it!"

Mordin exits the ship covered in a makeshift dark gray robe. He sewed multiple towels together to make it. Normally introductions would have been in order, unfortunately time is against us. We form a circle around Mordin. I'm in front, Shepard right, Thane left, and Grunt covering the rear. I showed them the long way through some collapsed buildings that were in the middle of renovation.

I corner the wall and see two guards… drunk Krogan actually. Still I don't want to risk anything. We hold for a while until they leave then run to my cabin. The halfmoon barely provides enough light to not trip. We made it back to my cabin and loaded mordin in first. We can breathe now. The rest of us pile on and I drive.

"We are blessed with a fortunate night" Thane said.

"Yeah, and you guys didn't step into my traps" I see Shepard's, Grunt's, and Mordin's eyes widen.

"What?!" Grunt barks.

"Nevermind" they were deactivated.

Shepard lowers his head, sighs, then gives me the coordinates. I had to ask him how to put it in the navigation computer. I memorize where things are, not their address. He scoots up and types it in for me. The engine purrs to life and I slowly drive away to keep the noise low and make sure to shut off the headlights.

The hospital is in Nackmor territory. I inform my passengers of the state of affairs and ask what their plan was. Mordin thinks his student was captured and is forced to work on curing the geophage. The hospital will be guarded if that is the case, fortunately they won't want to draw attention and keep the main forces inside. I drive close enough to the hospital where anyone on patrol won't see us. A brisk 15 minute walk to the not so abandoned hospital. The sun is rising. I would have preferred the darkness for stealth and relive my ninja days, though Thane would be competition.

Shepard gives me a pistol with a silencer and 4 clips for a total use of 64 bullets. I keep my rifle by my side in case. The entrance was covered in age old broken glass. Thane believes there is a second entrance that must be used. We follow his lead. The drell's skill is evidently when he finds a secret entrance by compact soil, an indicator of frequent use. We made our way inside and proceeded slowly.

"I'm surprised this place is still standing" Shepard whispers.

"Krogan hospitals were built to withstand Krogan patients… and bombs" Mordin said.

"What occurred on this world?" Thane asks.

"Nuclear war before salarian intervention followed by rachni war and Korgan rebellions. Violent history" Mordin said.

"You've been living with them *********. What do you think?" Shepard asks.

I take a moment to ponder, then how to word my thoughts. "I think the Krogan are a... hyper race who don't know how to… channel their energy."

"Krogan I encountered appeared rather hostile" Thane mentions.

I ask "How did you meet them?"

"On assignment" he said.

"They were your enemies" I state.

"Correct" Then said.

"If you only meet people on the battlefield, it's easy to think of all them as enemies" I said. It was pretty obviously to me that a people are made up of all kinds of people. No one race is entirely good or bad. However, people's experience shapes their views. Repeat exposure wires together neurons and it is difficult to shake of those feelings. Feelings are a guide, not your master. We have wills to overpower them for a reason.

Shepard interjects "Wrex isn't the fluffiest guy I know, but he never gave the impression of being a loose cannon."

"I think he was depressed and losing hope. It's hard not to. You didn't see what the clan was like at the beginning of how long they lived like that" I said.

"Have you ever lost hope?" Mordin asks.

"Depends. In some areas yes. Others I never gave up on, despite sometimes wishing I did. I would tell myself even if what I wanted never was to come, it still felt better having hope than not" I answer.

We come across three Krogan and a metal walkaway. He makes a big intimating speech to make us feel weak and inferior. Yes his words destroy my confidence. My skin is that frail. I have nothing else to live for. Shepard fires a round into the gas line beneath him and instinctively fire another to ignite it. EXPLOSINS are a reason to live. Should have let Shepard do it but what's done is done.

Shepard's tactile genius is revealed, using the gas line to eliminate our adversaries. One of the numerous examples I've been blessed to witness. *********'s reflexes are next to instantaneous. They're a formidable duo. I've grown to trust Shepard with my life, however short it may be, and he seems to trust *********. However, this man's reactions are atypical. My training involved extensive research of involuntary nonverbal communication. It works on a majority of races. ********* appears to be one of the few exceptions I've encountered. His display of joy upon seeing someone believe to be dead and his lack of shock during Grunt's maturation ritual and subsequent attack, should have surprised him. I have not noticed the typical displays in other races. There is no guarantee and our commander informed me during our discussions ********* had a very hard upbringing. Perhaps the surprise has left his system.

My instincts tell me something else is occurring. I have observed the behaviors, reactions, and habits of everyone I have encountered. Shepard is a respectable leader, fast to the draw, who is also very tense and folds his arms quite often. A habit not found in any television interviews or other forms of media I've seen during my research of him. ********* does not appear to register anything. It's as if his reactions were rehearsed. I have conflicting observations. Such instances of the tortured Krogan we discovered or the medical experimentation of females. He did show anger when he heard this.

********* appears to be a respectable moral individual, but he can be manipulative. Mordin found his pupil and learned he was developing the cure for the geophage voluntarily. Malen felt immense guilt for the Krogan and wished to liberate them from their suffering. Mordin argued it was too much of a risk and computer models indicated a cure was not recommended. Malen stood his ground and mentioned how ********* helped the Krogan become better. An outside variable no simulation could have predicted and there can be more. Mordin understood his argument and yet ignored his views. Mordin raises his pistol to his former student. Temptation nearly won if Shepard had not intervened. Malen was sent away. A philosophical question arose. Should the data be destroyed or not? Mordin wishes to destroy it. Grunt wishes to save it. Shepard argues it is better to have and not need than need and not have. ********* said "if someone tortured me to death, I'd expect someone to kill them, however if my death discovered the cure to cancer and someone deleted it out of the belief it would be wrong to use it, I'd expect someone to kill them slowly. It's one thing to kill me. Another to make my death meaningless." This is what I mentioned earlier. His words delicately constructed to sway others into his viewpoint. A dangerous and effective trait as Mordin and Shepard agreed to save the data.

The remainder of the day was quite pleasant. We wished to return Mordin to the Normandy at night. ********* showed us sights to pass the time. Shepard expressed his gratitude for *********'s assistance and wished he'd come aboard the Normandy. He loves the idea. Shepard explained the risks involved and ********* retorted "if you fail and the reapers attack, my cabin will be destroyed." From his viewpoint, it's better to risk destroying the enemy than wait for them to come. He asks who else is aboard. The turian Garrus and the previous Normandy pilot and doctor. He asked about someone named Tali and appeared saddened that one was not aboard.

Night makes its arrival and Mordin is returned to the ship. I have concerns for him. The salarian will talk for hours and speaks rather fast when he does most of the time. Days such as this he is quiet and withdrawn. He conducts experiments on the collector insect on those days. If I should call them that.

The following morning, ********* announces his recruitment and the Krogan were shocked and saddened. He reassured the crowd that he'll visit and update them on his progress. The way the Korgan react, shows he motivates and inspires them and how much of a loss it will be for him to leave. ********* is sad as well, yet believes it is the right thing for him to do and knows the Krogan can handle themselves. If any questions arise he'll respond. That night the Krogan throw a banquet in his honor. Food, music and honorary tales in his glory. A send off for a local hero. Farewells said and a crewmate gained.
