Christmas in Teyvat: A Genshin Impact Holiday
Part 2: Good Tidings to All Our Friends
The days seemed to fly by as I prepared for our Christmas celebration with Paimon and our friends in Fontaine. Having delivered the invites to our Mondstadt friends, the next stop on our trips was Liyue where we met the Geo Lord, Zhongli. It was quite easy to hand out invites to our friends though needing to have Keqing pass our invites to those working close to Ningguang as their daily work prevented us from meeting.
Zhongli: Hmmm…a gathering of friends in the Nation of Justice, you say, and to celebrate a holiday from your old world? Well, you have quite piqued my curiosity.
Keqing: Don't worry. I'll make sure Ganyu and Ningguang receive their invites. If I may speak for myself, this does sound like fun.
Hu Tao: Oh you better believe I'll be there! In fact, the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor MIGHT make a little business for ourselves in Fontaine.
Chongyun: W-Well, with the way Liyue has been since your last visit…I suppose I can make time for this party. Thank you, both of you.
Xingqui: Heh. The perfect excuse for me to get away from everybody hounding me at the Commerce Guild. Plus, if Chongyun is going…you can count me in too.
Qiqi: A…party? And…you're inviting me? Uhhhh…I will…check with Dr. Baizhu.
Baizhu: (chuckle) It's quite alright, Qiqi. In fact, allow me to do the honor and accept your invite, Traveler.
Changsheng: Do make SURE this won't be a snore for me, of course…
Xiangling: Ooh! Count me in! It sounds like a lot of fun! PLUS I can try experimenting with ingrdients from Fontaine for our customers!
Beidou: (laugh) A party held by THE famous Traveler? How can I say no to that? We'll make sure to dock the Crux close to Fontaine when the time comes. Thanks. Also, if you were planning on inviting Kazuha, I'll do the honors for ya.
Xinyan: Aww heck yeah! Sounds like a real BLAST!
Yun Jin: The nation of Fontaine, you say? Sounds like a great chance for the troupe and I to expand ourselves. Either way, I shan't miss out on an event like this.
Yanfei: You happened to catch me at a good time. There haven't been any important cases needing my attention, so I'll make time to visit. Thanks you two.
YaoYao: Wow! It sounds like so much fun! I can't wait to see what "Christmas" is like! I'll make sure Ganyu takes a break so she can come too!
Yelan: Hmmm. Heh. Since it's coming from you two, I see no reason not to accept. It'll give me a good chance to check out the Nation of Justice for myself…
Xiao: Hmph. I will…let you know. Hmm? Oh…no. It's not that I don't want to attend. My work as Liyue's protector keeps me busy. However, if I find the time…I'll make sure to get word to you.
Shenhe: Thank you for inviting me. I will see if Master would like to come as well.
With our invites passed out, Paimon and I stopped to eat at Wanmin Restaurant. We were greeted by Chef Mao, Xiangling's smiling father, who told us all about how excited she was for the party and thanked us.
It's no big deal. Xiangling's a good friend of ours. We wouldn't leave her out.
"Yeah! Besides, Xiangling said she'd bring back ingredients from Fontaine for you guys to experiment with! It's a win win as far as Paimon is concerned! More tasty food from Xiangling means a happy Paimon! Hee hee!" Paimon added, giggling at the end. After wrapping up our meal, we took the shortest route back to Fontaine via the use of our Serenitea Pot.

Upon returning to Fontaine, we caught sight of Gardes working together to place fir trees around the streets as requested by the Chief Iudex himself. Near the central plaza, we saw Furina observing decoration of a central tree set up with the Melusines offering their own decor to its branches.
"Wow! You guys sure work fast! Things are going so smoothly!" Paimon proclaimed, catching Furina's attention.
"But of course. Once word got around, the citizens of Fontaine became filled with excitement. Everyone's already looking forward to the celebration with anticipation." she said as she glimpsed towards the tree "Honestly…this is probably the most excited I've been for anything…in my entire life." I could easily see the purity eminating from Furina as she spoke, knowing that she had earned time to unwind and enjoy herself more than anyone else. For the rest of the day, we asked Neuvilette for help delivering our invitations to our Fontanian friends before retiring to Cafe Lutece with Furina for taste testing snacks being prepared as well as cups of hot cocoa.
The next day saw us traveling to Inazuma. It was another day of passing out invitations for me and Paimon, starting out in Inazuma City where the Electro Archon dwelled.
Ei: If Barbatos and Rex Lapis are attending, I do not see a reason for me to decline. I'll make sure to issue word to the guards that, for the day, the Raiden Shogun is resting and unable to accept visitors…even if the puppet will be the one in my place.
Ayaka: T-Thank you, Traveler. I'd be more than happy to accept.
Ayato: My thanks as well. This sounds like the perfect opportunity for brother and sister to spend quality family time together.
Kirara: H-Huh? For me?! Awww! You shouldn't have! I'll ask in advance for time off!
Kujou Sara: If the Shogun will be attending, I will be acccompanying her, of course. Hmm? N-No. It's…my job to assure the safety of the Almighty Shogun. It…It's NOT for whatever you're grinning about, Paimon!
Heizou: My my. I didn't expect this when I woke up today. But, nonetheless, you can count me in.
Itto: Woo! You BET we'll come! The whole Arataki Gang will be out in FULL FORCE for this! You have our thanks, compadre!
Shinobu: Don't worry. I'll make sure they don't start trouble. Besides, they will NOT be ruining my chance to visit the Nation of Justice.
Thoma: Awww. Thanks you guys. This is so nice.
Sayu: If it gets me away from the Shrine Maiden (yawn) then count me in.
Yae Miko: My my. And here I thought you would've passed me by. It's good to know that you value my company so much. Surely no one will mind if the Head Priestess takes time off for herself…
Yoimiya: If there's any kind of festivities, you can bet Naganohara Fireworks will be there to bring the bang with fireworks! Also, thanks a lot you guys…I'll make sure to bring toys that the kids in Fontaine will love!
Kokomi: Thanks to you, Watasumi Island and Inazuma are both in times of peace. On behalf of the Resistance and the citizens, I accept your invite. Hmmm…the Nation of Hydro…I can't wait.
Gorou: You can count me in as well, Traveler. You've done so much for us that I can't think of a better way to return your kindness.
As we wrapped up delivering our invitations around Inazuma, we actually received word from Kujou Sara that Ei wished to offer us board for the night as a means of thanks. Seeing as we have been constantly on the road as of late, it seemed too good an opportunity to pass up. What we didn't realize was that this was also a sort of gathering between the other important figures of Inazuma, the Kamisato twins and Watasumi Island reps included, for a meal in our honor. Though taken back at first, a little jeer from Paimon was enough for me to let bygones be and sat down to enjoy the evening with them.
