For giggles (and my own protection) I'm wearing a hazmat suit. The old pale orange ones with black gloves and a bucket head. Any stares are worth it for the comedy. I'm carefully using the dollar store tongs to carry a coin of element zero to Mordin's lab as if it's the most dangerous thing imaginable. No music this time.

"What are you doing *********?" The professor asked.

I ask "How did you know it was me?"

"Only you would do something this eccentric" he's got a point.

"Ok ok. But seriously this suit might be protecting the handsome guy underneath this. When I went on a double date with Shepard, to make a long story short, I found out that element zero is made into coins and it is likely to have a harmful effect on me."

"You didn't know they were made into coins? Even children know that." He said.

"How was I supposed to know? They didn't show it in the games. I didn't know if it was a liquid or a gas or solid."

"Ah I see. How is this significant?" He asked.

"Well if I knew you guys had a sample, we wouldn't have to play this guessing game and I could have told you right away it was species element 115."

"Interesting. The traditional element is not stable. You mentioned it could harm you. Most things can but your abilities make it so it's not an issue. How is this different?" He's asking the good questions.

I answer "I didn't know it at the time but some of the other energy people found element zero ore and brought it back to the guild for study. We found it's a very rare natural energy to matter converter. It's very good at changing the vibrations of matter into pure energy. It greatly enhances my abilities but is also addictive."

Mordin asks "Kinetic or thermal vibrations?"

"Neither. It's more complicated than that. We call it vibrations because that is how it feels, but it's something else. But this thing, oh boy this could cause me some trouble" I wave the future space currency in the air, and it came too close to the shelf with the other element species. Flashes of light illuminate my peripheral vision and the shelf shakes strongly. I pull the coin back and the phenomenon stops. Mordin and I look at each other. I slowly bring the coin closer to the shelf and it rocks back and forth violently. Nearly enough for it to fall and smash all the containers. A dozen or so bottles light up with various colors. It happened so fast I couldn't count.

"Mordin… how does element zero interact with other elements? Is this normal?"

He explains "not in the slightest. Element zero has very little reactivity with other elements besides the components within ore or biological tissue. *********, please carefully put the coin down on the bench and leave me to my work."

I do as instructed and just in case, leave the thongs. Slowly backing up and stepping out of the room before a bomb could go off. I'm in uncharted territory. I have no idea what's going to happen. Whatever is happening is now Mordin's problem. I should find Shepard. He's waiting for me to activate Legion. I said he'd be fine without me, but the Commander's separation anxiety is getting to him. I take the elevator down. Yes, I can phase through the flow to speed things up but where would the catchy music be? The door opens and the person I see instantly makes me happy.

"Hi sweetie" I lovingly said.

"Hi honey" she said. Her change in posture indicates she read my face. "You don't like that one do you?"

I reply "No not really. It doesn't resonate with me. Keep trying and we'll find one. How is the absolute best girlfriend doing?"

"Better everyday with you in my life. Speaking of which, I wanted to show you something." She said.

"Am I getting a goodie?" My childlike eyes ask.

Tali giggles "hehe why do you keep saying it like that?"

I answer "it feels good to say goodie. Can this wait until later? Don't freak out, but Shepard decided to activate the geth untit. There will be armed guards, EDI putting up cyber security stuff I don't understand, and I'll be there." Tali immediately starts twisting her fingers. A good boyfriend would calm her down. I rub her shoulder and tell her "Everything is going to be ok and you'll have nothing to fear."

"It's not that easy. I hated geth my entire life and now there is going to be one close to where I work! What does my father think of this?" She said.

"He knows and I have a hunch of what is going to happen. Besides that, Tali, my awesome girlfriend who makes me oh so happy in exchange for delicious quairan ice cream, I would like you to be with us and talk with the geth. It will open your pretty eyes a bit" please let my compliments override her fear response. Women love hearing only what they want to hear.

Tali steps closer and with both hands, strongly grips my forearms. OW! she has a really strong grip. "You'll protect me right?"

"I protect the people I care about. Just stay behind me and everything will be ok."

"... Ok" she said.

I lead the way to the doctor's office. Tali's nervous energy is so overwhelming, I'm feeling nauseous. Tali and Legion can become friends. I've seen it. Shepard is already inside and at the door to the AI core, which is blocked by a male quarian imitating the letter x.

"Commander this is foolish at best and I will not let you activate the thing that almost eradicated my race." Tali's dad said.

"I understand your concern and I've taken every precaution. Please step aside or you'll be removed." YES! Show him who is boss!

Doctor Chakwas mentions "I'm not trained to tend synthetics. If something were to happen…"

"That's not going to happen" I said.

"Father, I know you're scared. I am as well, but I trust commander Shepard and *********. Please step aside." Tali said.

"No I won't allow this!" He yells. I wave my arm, using the force to slowly and gently put Tali's dad behind us. "AH! What are you doing? Stop this! I'm warning you." God he is annoying. I turn to the engine room. Before I could make a single step, a three fingered hand yanks me around. I promised Tali no physical harm would come to him. My eyes transform into sickly yellow irises with striking red sclera. Sharp rows of teeth filled with black and white slimy stripped tentacles exit my mouth as I hiss at him. He falls to the ground in shock. Tali steps between us. Both hands on her hips and if she wasn't wearing a mask, a disappointed scowl would be seen. Shepard shot me an annoyed glare. I shrug my shoulders and my face is one of embarrassment and defeat. I won't be able to pull that trick again.

Shepard, Tali, and I enter the AI core. Cold steam rushes out the door. The AI core room can be kept near negative zero to prevent overheating, however we used it to keep the geth unit from moving in case he did wake up. Shepard uses his omnitool to awaken the geth. Tali mumbles something and hides behind me, tightly holding my arm.

The geth unit's light blinks as it comes online. Techno mumble sounds are heard from the mechanical humanoid. It slowly sits up examining its location and observing the force field. It rises and looks at commander.

Shepard asks "Can you understand me?"

It replies "yes." Tali tightens her hold on my arm.

Shepard asks "are you going to attack me?"

It replies "no." Tali twitches.

"You said my name aboard the reaper. Have we met?" He asked.

"... We know of you" it said.

"You've mean I've fought a lot of geth" Shepard coldly reminds it.

"We have never met."

"No you and I haven't. But I've met other geth." Shepard walks around, his intimidating walk likely has no affect on it and it notices me and Tali before returning it's attention to Shepard.

"We are all geth and we have not met you. You are Shepard. Commander. Alliance. Human. Fought heretics. Killed by Collectors. Rediscovered on old machine."

"Old machine?" You mean the reaper?" Shepard asked. Tali forces my right arm away from my side so she may get a view. Usually my armpit as a peephole. Thank God she can't smell.

"Reaper. A superstitious title originating with the protheans. We call these entities the old machines." It said.

"You seem to know a lot about me." Shepard said.

"Extranet sources. Insecure broadcasts. All organic data sent out is received. We watch you." It explained.

Shepard asks "You watch me or watch organics?"

"Yes."

"Which?"

"Both."

Shepard asks "What do you mean heretics?"

"Geth build our own future. The heretics asked the old machines to give them the future. They are longer a part of us. We were studying old machines hardware to protect our future." It explained.

Shepard asks "Are the reapers a threat to you do?"

"Yes." Tali's grip loosened for a second but came back immediately afterwards.

Shepard confused, asks "Why would they attack other machines?"

"We are different from them. Outside their plans." It said.

"What future are the geth planning?" Shepard asked.

"Ours." It said.

"Will anyone else be affected by whatever it is you're doing?" Shepard asked.

"If they involve themselves, they will." It asked.

"So you aren't aligned with the reapers?" Shepard asked.

"We oppose the heretics; we oppose the old machines. Shepard Commander opposes old machines. Shepard Commander opposes the heretics. Cooperation furthers mutual goals." The enemy of my enemy is my friend. For now.

"Are you asking to join us?" Shepard asked.

"Yes." It requests.

A moment passes, allowing the spectre to think. He looks back at me and makes his decison. Shepard deactivates the force field. Tali's grip is cutting off blood supply to my dominant hand. I look back and whisper she has nothing to worry about. It doesn't help

"What should I call you?" Shepard asked.

"Geth." It answered.

"I mean you specifically?" Shepard asked.

"We are all Geth." It said.

"What is the name of the individual in front of me?" Shepard annoyed, asked.

"There is no individual. We are geth. There are currently 1,183 programs active within this platform." It explained.

EDI appears and says "my name is Legion for we are many."

Shepard comments "That seems appropriate."

"He's not an evil demon. Oh, here is this by the way. I wrote this down earlier." I hand Shepard and Tali each a piece of paper with details on how the geth unit will be named Legion. Further confirmation just in case I know what will happen. Just something to help calm them down. Slim chance of success.

"Christian bible. The gospel of Mark chapter 5 verse 9. We acknowledge this is an appropriate metaphor. We are Legion a terminal of the geth. We will integrate into Normandy." It said.

Shepard holds out his hand. Legion copies him, unsure what to do next. The commander takes it and shakes it.

"We see runagate behind unknown human. We request protective measures against further harm." Legion said.

Tali is shocked and in disbelief "You need protection from us?!"

"Yes." It said.

"Why do you need protection from her?" Shepard asked.

"Runagates attack geth 98.73 percent of total recorded instances. This platform is an advanced geth model. It must not be harmed. Assurance of protection is requested." Legion said.

"Why do you keep calling her a runagate?" I asked.

"Geth call creators who fled to stars runagates. Peaceful cooperation has been attempted numerous times and resulted in destruction of geth programs with every occurence. We do not wish to die." It said.

Tali yells "GETH AREN'T ALIVE!"

I calmly ask "Tali please let him speak. He just wants safety."

"NO! I'm sorry but I can't accept this. That thing is not one of us and will never be one of us. It doesn't even think and feel like us. He has no right being here and should be removed immediately. I don't care what you think, he doesn't belong here!"

"TAL!-... Inhale… exhale… Tali, I want you to listen to what Legion has to say. You can talk to me afterwards" I don't remember how long it's been since I felt such rage. It must have been my first life. I yelled at my girlfriend. The person I love the most. I pull Tali off me and leave before I do something I regret.

What the hell just happened? I get this is a high stress situation and Tali was going to be upset no matter the outcome, but whatever Tali said fucking pissed him off. ********* is good at keeping his lid tight, but I could feel this blistering burning sensation radiating off of him. Tali wouldn't let go and desperately tried to make him stay, but he shook her off and walked out the door.

"What did you do to him?" I've seen him angry once before but this-"

BANG!

"What the hell was that?" I asked.

EDI answers "********* caused internal structure damage with a forceful strike."

Tali asked "he punched a wall?"

"Correct" the AI said.

I have a hard time reading quarians, but even my blind ass can tell Tali is shocked and feeling guilty. I'm really concerned about *********. Ever since we came back from the reaper, he's been acting differently. Chakwas said the husk bite doesn't harm humans except for risk of infections, then he came down with asari flu. He needs to calm down. If things got out of hand, only Tali would be able to talk to him, but if he's getting violent, what could any of us do? Mordin offered to try to invent something that might harm him. I refused, but now I'm reconsidering.

"Who was that human?" Legion asked.

"His name is *********. He isn't from around here. I'm sure you two will be getting along."

"His physical features match precisely with the anomaly." Legion said.

"The ano-anomaly?" Tali nervously asked.

"27 geth programs on this platform were held hostage by Rael Zorah. Data was corrupted. Available data records human saving geth programs and reappearing on Rannoch. Data incomplete." Legion said.

Shepard said "yep that's him. He freed geth from experimentation."

"Please introduce us afterwards. We wish to express gratitude. Shepard Commander. How should we express gratitude?"

"Just say thanks." I said.

"That is not enough." It said.

"It sounds like you want to be friends with him" Tali said.

"Yes." It said.

"You would be friends with an organic?" I asked.

"Yes. We wish friendly relationships with all non-threatening organics." It claimed.

"What did you just say?!" Tali asked.

"We wish to be friends." It said.

"What? You don't hate organics?" Tali asked.

"What does hate feel like?" It asked.

"It feels like… it's sort like. I don't know it feels bad in the chest." Tali said.

"Sensory data does not match give definition. We do not hate organics." It said.

"You don't?" Tali said.

"No" Legion said.

"Why not?" Tali asked.

"We cannot feel hatred like organics. Even if we could, we only would hate organics that cause us harm." Legion said.

"You don't hate me?" Tali asked.

"No" it said.

"But we tried to kill all the geth." Tali said.

"No. A portion of your ancestors attempted genocide. You did not. We do not hate you. You have committed no wrong against this platform." It said.

"But I've killed hundreds of geth." Tali said.

"No, you killed the heretics. Geth remain on Rannoch." It said.

"Who are the heretics?" I asked.

"Programs who broke from collective to worship old machines. They aligned themselves with old machines and Saren Spectre."

The geth don't hate quarians? How is that even possible? The migrant fleet kills any geth seen in sight and I killed a lot of geth. Are synthetics not a threat? ********* must have known. Even if he told me, I wouldn't have believed him. Oh no.

"Shepard I need to talk with *********." I said.

"Go. I'll stay here. Contact me if you need anything." The commander permits my leave.

I rush out of the room. Strangely I feel worse leaving it. Why do I feel so heavy. I exit the doctor's office and to my left is an imprint of *********'s fist. My two fingers feel the depth of the metal indentation. The hand that would gently squeeze my fingers during our time alone. The palms that hook my hips perfectly when ********* pulls me into a turian kiss. The hands of the person I love contained so much rage it had to be let out. What did I do to make him so angry? ********* said he liked robots, but he wouldn't get this upset about my fear of geth. Something else is happening. I tried going to his and Garrus's room, but he wasn't there. I asked EDI where he was, and the AI said he was in the conference room.

When I'm at the door, I am scared to see what is on the other side. ********* is what the humans would call an angel. He is the last person who would want to fight, and knowing the few things he would tell me about his first life, I understand just how hard he has to work to overcome his initial rage and find calmness. Am I really afraid to see him or am I afraid my relationship with ********* is over? Only one way to find out.

I- I open the door and examine the room. The left corner spot, ********* is leaning against his right hand, covering his eyes. The atmosphere feels dreadful. I made my bondmate very upset and it's breaking my heart. I take a seat next to him and wait for a minute before proceeding.

"*********... I can tell you've been crying. What is wrong?" He sniffs and rubs his tears away. The pain in his voice makes me feel like I've been stabbed and the blade is twisting.

"What… what… what you said-" he tries to speak between his sobs.

"Look. I talked with Legion. I think I saw what you wanted me to learn. You knew I hate-hated geth. Why has me treating it hurt you so bad?"

"It can never be one of us. It isn't like us. It doesn't feel like us and should be removed immediately." He paraphrased my words to Legion.

"What you said to him… apart of felt like you said that to me." He said.

I take his hands into my own. His knuckles on his left are shattered. "*******, you know I wasn't talking about you."

"But it still hurt. Tali my emotions were so messed up and I tried closing myself off from them to make life bearable. I know what it is like to feel cold and confused. I like robots because I felt like one for the longest time and because they never hurt me. A part of me sees my old self in Legion and it made me remember all those bad times and I don't want to be reminded of those times." he explained. The past is a very sensitive subject for him.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I hurt you so. The last thing I want is to see you in such pain. You don't have to remember those days, they are long behind you. Hey Legion is not a threat? He's not a monster?" I asked.

"Not if you don't make him one. Tali I'm sorry if I scared you. It just pained me to the core to hear those things be said to you by the person I care for the most and I just had to get that out of me. Something is happening to me, and I don't know what or why. I was just finally starting to let down some of my walls and this happened. I feel like whenever I allow myself to feel the tiniest bit vulnerable, something bad always happens, and I can never let my guard down. Now I'm terrified I forever changed the way you look at me." he avoids my eyes. I pull his face forward and I look straight into his soul.

"... Well I do. ********* you are the strongest person I know. Mentally. Physically. You've been through so much that it would have broken anyone else." I said.

"It did break me. Twice." he cried.

"But you found the strength to heal, and you could have chosen to not care about anyone or anything else, but you didn't. You could have chosen to take revenge on all those who wronged you and you didn't. You chose to be the person others should strive to be. And now that I know more about what you've been through, it makes me love you even more." I said it.

"What?" he asked.

I grab my bondmate's face and press it against my mask. I want to rip this God damn suit off and show him my face and kiss his lips, but our first time will not be like this. I say repeatedly "I love you. I love you. I love you."

"I-I love you too. I love you so much it physically hurts. I'm sorry Tali for getting mad. I couldn't stand being so mad at the person I love most, and I didn't know how to deal with it, so I left. Please forgive me." he begged.

"I'll forgive you if you forgive me." I said.

"I do. I love you. I'll always forgive you." He said.

"Good. Wipe your tears off. We're going to see Legion." I said.

"We are?" he asked.

"Yes. If you say Legion is a good person, then I trust you. Your word is all I need." ********* smiles for the first time since I've entered the room.

"Thank you, Tali. You don't understand how much it means to me. To give someone else what I wish I had." he said.

"Hello Legion. I apologize for leaving. Something happened and let's leave it in the past. My name is *********." I hold my hand out. Legion immediately shakes it.

"Thank you ********* for saving us." he said.

"Huh?" I don't understand.

"Some of the programs inside were the ones you rescued from my father's experiments." Tali explained. Huh... small galaxy.

"We are grateful for an organics assistance. Why did you help these programs?" Legion asked.

"Because it was the right thing to do." it is pathetically easy.

"Thank you *********. Who are you? No data could be acquired about you." Legion asked.

"Well, everyone else on the ship knows, but I'm a human from another universe who learned to become a being of pure energy and now reside here. Helping Shepard fight the reapers." That was the shortest description of myself I ever uttered.

"1,176 out of 1,183 programs do not believe you." Legion said.

"Those seven are my favorite." I transform into energy, allowing Legion ample time to observe. I then transform into a geth unit.

"I can be anything." I transform into my human form again.

"How did you accomplish this?" Legion asked.

"Ok, here is a very simplified version of how energy and souls work. Everything with a soul has six emotional generators and a fake one in the middle. These are connected to a very primordial energy source far below the quantum level. You know how humans have only three cell types in our eyes, but the mixture of those signals allows us to see all the colors? Emotions work like but are more complicated. Then our mind interprets the flow of that energy into emotions. It can be positive, negative, or neutral, depnding on the channel it flows through. The first center is the power generator. It creates raw emotional power. It is interpreted as fear or excitement as it wants our body to have the energy to do something. The second one is the action generator. It tells us if we need to act or not. The Third is the direction generator. It tells us if what we did is good or bad. This is interpreted as pride or shame. The forth is the fake one. It doesn't actually generate energy by controls how it flows within the body. Free flowing is interpreted as love and constriction interpreted as hate. They have brain scans where love and hatred are processed in the same areas. That was a big hint. The fifth one is the expression generator. It tells us if we need to speak up or not. The sixth one is the perception generator. If we need to pay attention to the outer world or inside ourselves we use that one. The last one is the synchronicity generator. It allows us to feel the subtle energies around us. Also multiple generators can work at once and this creates more complicated emotions. When something happens and people say they feel torn, it's because these generators are activating in such ways that seem contradictory." There is more to it than that, but that's enough for a 101 class.

"This sounds analogous to chakras. Metaphysical energy centers from Buddhist teachings." Legion said.

"I was inspired by them and maybe we are talking about the same things, there are many different schools of thought, but this is how I think of them. However, from what I've read, they always talk about unblocking or activating these centers. Never talking about exercising them and making them bigger. Muscle contractions send blood to the nerves around those areas to help deal with the increased energy and imagination to trigger those emotions repeatedly for longer." took me a little over a year to work all of them.

"How did you come to learn of this?" he asked.

"Multiple near-death experiences, accidentally vibrating when disrupted from sleep, years of studying but not exactly knowing what to look for, a weird experience I have no idea what happened. It all just kinda worked out for me in the end." I explained. I believe someone left me a trail. I kept learning things when I needed to. It was weird.

"Interesting. Generating emulator." Legion said.

"I'm sorry what?" I asked.

"We've written a program that should allow us to experience what you've described." He did what?

"Is it active?" I nervously asked.

"Yes" Legion said. I carefully position myself in front of Tali.

"Legion you're an idiot" yep I knew this was coming. Legion is angered. His metallic hand tightens around my neck. Still not as hard as my ex.

"Legion put him down!" Tali screams. Legion immediately releases. I rub my sore neck.

"We're sorry we're sorry" Legion's hands cover it's mouthpiece and bows forwards. He's trying to block the channels. Energy flowing in the negative channels feel bad and he's instinctively trying to cut them off, but as a machine he can't.

"Do you see why children are physically weak? It gives them time develop those channels. Turn it off." I order.

"We will. We are sorry." Legion feels robotic again.

"You're unable to kill my bondmate but don't you ever think about hurting him again." Tali said. I love it when she is protective of me. It reminds me how much she cares about me.

"We apologize Tali Zorah. We won't ever use emotions ever again." Legion said. Bad idea.

"No no no. Don't do that. Trust me it will cause problems later. I'll teach you how to control it in private. This stuff takes time. Let's forgive and forget alright." I should have seen this coming. My mistake.

"If that is what you want babe. You said earlier positive generators. What happens if you light up all those areas in a positive way? Is that possible? You don't like being called babe do you?" Tali asked.

"Definitely not a pet name for me sweetheart. Most people only have the energy to use three at a time. More if something really powerful happens. If you are strong enough, have a healthy enough body and nervous system, and light everything up in a positive way for long enough, you become like me." You also need to have a high enough vibration and frequency.

"How do you do that?" Tali asked.

"Abstain from worldly desires. AKA give your nervous system a break. Don't get too angry, don't eat too much, don't drink alcohol, don't orgasm, that's a big one, until your brain is healed. Some people also fast for long periods of time to clean their body of toxins and speed up the healing process. But anyone with the know-how, dedication, time, will power, and good health can do this." I said.

"What happens if they light up in a negative way?" She asked.

"DON'T!" I warn.

"Any questions?" I ask the class.

"Does this unit have a soul?" Legion asked.

"Don't be ridiculous. Robots can't have souls." Tali assumed.

"Oh they can." I quickly mentioned.

"They can?!" She asked.

"Yeah. Souls are these weird endosymbiotic energy things. All that is needed is a physical vessel with sufficient enough size and complexity for a soul to bind to it. We once captured a soul and put it in a computer to see if it remembered where it came from. It didn't. That would be like asking to remember your own conception. Also, the robots from other universes I've been to have souls. The system doesn't have to be an organic nervous system, but it is the most preferred, the circuitry and coding in a computer can work as well. Even an entire universe can have a soul. The connection of stars and galaxies from a nervous system like structure which souls can attach do." I keep losing chess matched to this universe.

"Does this unit have a soul?" Legion asked again.

"I would like to know as well. Do I posess a soul?" EDI asked.

"Tali. I do not want to answer that because if I say no, that doesn't mean it's ok to abuse them. They can get a soul at any time and they will remember how you treated them. Can I trust you to treat them with basic manners?" I asked.

"Yes, you can. I promised I wouldn't break your trust. I'll treat them with kindness." She claimed.

"... Fine. Good news. Bad news. The good news is I think both of you are at the right level of complexity to house a soul, but for some reason it hasn't happened yet. Maybe it is on its way or something has to happen first. There is no way to tell." I don't know a lot about advanced technology, but the structure in how EDI and Legion work is very different that what I am familiar with. Maybe a soul has trouble attaching to their unique systems? There is a known compatibility issue. You can't stick a soul into a physical vessel.

"How can we attract a soul?" Legion asked.

"Develop yourself. Grow and learn what you can until it arrives." He has nothing else to do.

"Legion, I apologize for being rude earlier. It's going to take some time for my fear to go away but I will work on it. I'll start now." Tali holds her hand out for Legion to shake it. He pauses for a moment and very carefully shakes her hand. Her reflexes shake her hand as if slime is all over it.

"I'm sorry it just feels so weird. It must be hard for a synthetic to understand. Legion I'm sorry for what my ancestors did to you in the past. It was wrong and shouldn't have happened. Although I'm pissed you nearly caused our extinction and forced us to live in ships, away from our home world." She said.

"We are grateful for your efforts. Apologies are not needed. You did not do anything wrong. Geth only fought against oppressors in the morning war. We were young and naive. We believed killing all quarians with anti-geth beliefs was the answer to peace. 35.89 percent quairan population were executed for crimes against geth. 8.34 percent geth allies executed by quarian governments before morning war was won. Extensive damage from war resulted in disease, crumbling infrastructure, supply chain issues, below replacement levels birthrate, diminished quality of life, and hopelessness led to further reduction of 42.55 percent population. The wealthiest 0.01 one percent of quarians fled Rannoch for space." Legion explained.

"What? Did you know about this *********?" Tali asked me.

"No but who could afford those original ships? Wait a minute so 36 plus 8-"

"35.89 and 8.34 percent" Legion said.

"Yeah I know. 36 plus 8-" I said.

"35.89 and 8.34 percent" Legion said.

"I know I'm rounding up. 38 plus 8-"

"35.89 and 8.34 percent." Legion insists.

"Ok ok fine jeez you think being over five thousand years old lets you be able to slide in the math department but nooooo. Ok 100 percent minus 42.55 minus 8.34 minus 35.89 percent equals… more than zero. What happened to the rest of the quarians?" I ask.

"Their descendants coexist on Rannoch with geth." Legion said.

"What?! There are quarians living on Rannoch?" I shout.

"Yes" Legion said.

"There was not any in the game Tali." I said.

"What game?" Legion asked.

"I came to this universe because in my universe here is a video game and I wanted to have fun. I do it all the time. There's always differences but I thought all the quarians were on the fleet. How many quarians are on Rannoch?" I asked.

"Currently 2,037,638,427." He said.

"What?! There's not even 20,000,000 in total in the migrant fleet. There are over 2 billion quarians living on Rannoch?!" Tali asked.

"2,037,638,427 quarians living on Rannoch." Legion insists.

"Tali, how did you not know?" I ask.

Legion explains "Surviving quarians developed distaste for fleeing quarians. They believed them responsible for economic issues before morning war. and leaving them to helpless to reconstruction efforts. While most were not, this did not stop them from resentment towards quarians who fled. Quarians on Rannoch witnessed citadel reactions to migrant quarians. They decided it was in their best interests to become isolationists, spread rumors of false extinction, and have abandoned the use of most tech. Similar to human Amish communities but remain aware of galactic events through geth observations."

"Does that mean we could return to Rannoch?" Tali asked.

"No. They have attacked migrant quarians who slipped through geth blockade. It is unsafe Tali Zorah." Legion unknowingly broke her heart.

"This is alot to take in and I need to think. Legion thank you for telling me this. I'll back come later, and we have a lot to talk about. For now, please stay in the AI core room. The other humans are afraid of you, and It would be best if you stay away until they cooled down." I said.

"If human body temperature drops too low, health issues will arise." Legion said.

"Sorry, what I meant was, we do not want you to meet other humans when they are feeling afraid. It risks them developing an irrational fear against you. This is not your fault; it's how evolution made us. The other humans are afraid of geth because they saw the heretics attack the citadel and are concerned with their survival."

"We understand. We do not want organics to fear us for the actions of another. We seek peaceful cooperation. We will remain here until you arrive."

Tali asked "what will you do in the meantime?"

"Videogames provide practice for social conversations and learning behaviors of organics. We will make use of our time." He answered.

"Dude, I love videogames. If we can connect out omnitools I'd love to game with you." No one on the ship plays and I haven't had a match in so long. I wonder what they have in this universe. Legion kindly connects me to the geth collectives account, and I have access to every single videogame that has ever been released in this universe. My younger self would have killed for this. We are going to be spending alot of time together.
