Chapter 3
It had only been a brief span of three months since the incident occurred, but time had been kind to Naruto, largely due to Keigo's steady presence.
The bond forged between them in their childhood had been reignited, and Keigo had stepped in, providing comfort and companionship to Naruto in his time of need.
They had been spending more time together, seizing any opportunity to hang out when they weren't buried in their work.
One day, Naruto's phone buzzed with a call from Keigo. A warmth spread through him as he answered, his heart lightening at the sound of Keigo's voice. They both were free from work that day, an unexpected luxury in their busy lives.
When Keigo arrived, he was taken in by the homely atmosphere of Naruto's place. He looked around, his lips curving into a smile of genuine appreciation.
Naruto, on the other hand, was growing increasingly self-conscious. Despite his best efforts to maintain a casual demeanor, he couldn't help but notice Keigo's muscular figure outlined by his snug-fitting clothes
.
"My place isn't much," Naruto began, trying to divert his attention. "It's technically a rented hotel room, but they allowed me to decorate the main room."
Keigo's curiosity piqued. "Can we go and see it?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with interest.
Naruto hesitated, a faint blush creeping onto his cheeks. "Please don't laugh at the way I've chosen to decorate my bedroom," he requested, leading the way.
Keigo chuckled, his voice soft and reassuring. "I won't, baby bird," he promised, using the affectionate nickname that he hadn't used for years. Naruto turned around, his smile reaching his eyes. "You haven't called me that in years," he noted, his voice filled with surprise and a hint of nostalgia.
Keigo couldn't help but chuckle again, "It just popped into my head, I guess."
As they entered the room, Keigo's eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, you really do like pink," he remarked, taking in the vibrant hues that permeated the room.
Naruto blushed again, his face a deep shade of red. "What can I say? I'm a big fan of pink," he admitted sheepishly.
"And purple," Keigo added, pointing to a small purple teddy bear sitting on the bed.
"There's no purple," Naruto protested, but his eyes followed Keigo's finger to the bear. "Oh, that purple," he corrected himself, walking over to hug the bear tightly.
Keigo's eyes widened as he recognized it. "Wait, isn't that the teddy bear I gave you when we last saw each other as kids?"
Naruto nodded, clutching the bear even tighter. "Yes, it means a lot to me. I've never let it go. Even after all these years, I still kept it."
Keigo's heart warmed at Naruto's confession. "So, what do you want to do today, baby bird?"
Naruto thought for a moment before suggesting, "How about we watch a movie?"
Keigo agreed enthusiastically. They picked 'How to Train Your Dragon' from the list of movies available. Naruto settled into bed, tucking himself into Keigo's side as they began to watch. The room was filled with the soft glow of the television screen, casting shadows that danced around them.
As Naruto began to drift off to sleep, he whispered, "My alpha."
Keigo kissed him lightly on the forehead, his voice soft as he replied, "And you're my omega, baby bird."
