A/N: Woohoo Jane and Maura are married! I'm so excited to start writing the next chapter in their life.

Episode summary (courtesy IMDb): "Homeland Security steps in when a senator's daughter is found murdered. The squad rushes to solve the case, which could put national security at risk. Meanwhile, Tommy and Frankie get into a fight after Tommy starts slipping back into bad old habits. And Jane reveals some shocking news that could change her life forever."

The wedding reception was lively. Music was blasting from the speakers, people were dancing, drinks were being poured, and smiles were endless. Frankie and Tommy gave wonderful speeches that had the wedding guests laughing and crying. Angela, Constance, and Arthur spent the night swapping stories about their kids. Jane and Maura were deliriously happy as they chatted with guests and danced the night away.

It was nearing 9:00 and the party was dying down. Jane and Maura were chatting with Frost, Korsak and Frankie before the newlywed sendoff. Cavanaugh stepped over and interrupted.

"I'm sorry to interrupt," Cavanaugh said, "I've a got a situation. I need Dr. Isles."

"Um, sir, we just got married," Jane started. "We are leaving for our honeymoon tomorrow."

"A VIP has been murdered. If there was anybody else I trusted to work this case, I would be grabbing them. Unfortunately, the temp M.E. isn't exactly someone I want on a high profile case."

"Okay," Maura replied. "I will be there as soon as I change."

Jane stood and stared at Maura, mouth agape.

"Korsak, Frost, I need you as well."

"Got it," Korsak said.

"On our way," Frost replied.

"Jane, will you let the wedding planner know that there's been a change?" Maura asked as she headed back to the bridal suite to change.

Jane followed Maura as she spoke. "You're seriously leaving our wedding to go solve a murder?"

"You heard Lieutenant Cavanaugh. There is no other M.E. capable of working this case."

Jane sighed. "Fine. But I'm going with you."

"I wouldn't have expected anything else."

...

When Jane and Mura finally pulled up the crime scene, the first thing they noticed was the lack of people. No crime scene techs, no police cars, and a distinct lack of officers.

Jane stepped out of the car and Maura followed suit.

As they headed over to the body, Jane asked, "Where is everybody?"

The only people they could see were Korsak, Cavanaugh, Frost and Officer Jenkins all standing by the body waiting for them.

"What's going on?" Jane asked as they approached.

"I was on patrol taking an access road, and I recognized her," Officer Jenkins explained.

"We're lucky it was you. He called me instead of putting it out on the radio," Cavanaugh said.

"Who is she?" Jane asked.

"Natalie Bloomfield," Cavanaugh answered.

"Wait. Senator Bloomfield's daughter?" Maura inquired.

"Yeah. I got to call the police commissioner," Cavanaugh said as he walked away to make the call.

"No wonder he pulled us away from our wedding. I wouldn't trust the temp M.E. with this either," Jane said.

"Looks like our honeymoon in Paris is going to have to wait until we solve this," Maura said.

"We better solve this fast, then," Jane replied.

...

After examining the body at the scene, the team had come to the conclusion that the senator's daughter might be trying to sell state secrets. Her and her fiancé worked for a contractor to the NSA. She was booked on four different flights out of the US. And her laptop was missing.

Korsak, Jane, and Maura had gone to the Senator's house to talk to her about her daughter's murder. Homeland Security had intercepted them there, insisting on being a part of the investigation. Maura received instructions to wait on the autopsy, but was granted permission to begin processing the clothes and other evidence. Korsak and Jane informed their victim's mother of their evidence and conclusions thus far in the case. Senator Bloomfield did not believe that Natalie would betray her country. She instructed them to talk to her boss, which couldn't be done until morning. So the team went home to get some rest.

Jane and Maura walked into their home that night as if it was an ordinary evening, not the evening of their wedding. They headed up the stairs and into their bedroom. Jane sank down onto the bed while Maura moved into the closet to change. Jane just stared at the floor. She couldn't believe that their perfectly planned wedding night had been ruined by yet another case. Maura padded out of the closet in her pjs and sat down next to Jane. She placed her hand on Jane's thigh.

"What are you thinking right now?" Maura asked.

Jane sighed. "I want to live in a world where murder doesn't exist."

"If that was the case we may never have met," Maura replied.

"Yeah, but we wouldn't be stuck solving a murder on our wedding day."

Maura swept Jane's curls behind her ear. "I think it's kind of poetic. This is what we do. We solve murders together. We do it better than anyone else. It's fitting that we have to solve a crime on our wedding day."

Jane turned to look at Maura. Her smile was contagious. "I love you, you know that?"

"Of course I do."

Jane leaned in and pressed her lips against her wife's.

"Now, let's go to bed so we can wake up, solve this murder, and head to Paris," Maura said.

Jane smiled and pressed her lips one more time before she got up to get ready for bed.

...

The next morning, Jane was invigorated. She was ready to buckle down and solve this case so she could go on her honeymoon. Jane stood at the counter pouring a cup of coffee when Maura walked in and sat down at the bar.

"Here," Jane said as she passed the cup of coffee to Maura. "You're gonna need this if we want to solve this case today."

Maura merely looked at the mug.

"I know it's not Boston Joe's, but it's drinkable."

"I think I would prefer tea this morning."

"Well, that you're gonna have to make yourself." Jane had been trying to learn how to make Maura's tea the way she likes it, but hadn't mastered it quite yet.

Maura stood up to get her tea started when Angela walked in.

"Good morning, girls," Angela greeted.

"Hey, Ma."

"I just want you two to know that everyone made it home safe last night. We were all disappointed, but we understand. You have a job to do."

"Thank you, Ma, for taking over and making sure everyone knew what was going on. We really appreciate it."

"Yes, Angela, thank you."

"Oh, no problem. I just wish we could have one family event that didn't end with you two leaving to solve a murder."

"Ma, come on. You just said that everyone understands."

"Everyone does understand. It doesn't mean we like it."

Maura sat back down at the counter to wait for her water to boil. She rested her head on her hands.

"Maura, you look tired. Did you get any sleep last night?" Angela asked.

"No, not much."

"Yesterday was a big day. I'm sure that wore you two out. And then to leave and go to work instead of going to your relaxing hotel suite. You must be exhausted."

Maura sighed. "Yes. It was definitely not what we had planned."

Jane's phone buzzed with a notification. "Damn it," she said.

"What is it?" Maura asked.

"The judge denied the warrant for Natalie's office. Korsak thinks the feds intervened."

"We should get going, then." Maura said.

"Yeah, okay." Jane grabbed her coffee and turned off the stove that was still boiling Maura's water.

...

Jane and Frost walked into Maura's lab that afternoon after a receiving a text that she had found something. The feds had swooped in and taken their evidence hours ago, so Jane was curious to find out what Maura could have uncovered. It must be something big because Maura had Susie guarding the doors.

"Okay, this is a dental mold of Natalie's teeth," Maura started.

"Mhm, and what does this dental mold have to do with our case?" Jane asked.

Maura pulled Natalie's retainers from their case and Jane knew instantly what Maura had done.

"Maura..." Jane started, "Why do you have our victim's retainers? I thought the Feds took all of our evidence."

"I – um, well..." Maura stammered.

"Withholding evidence from a federal agency is obstruction of justice. It's illegal, Maura," Jane said.

"What?" Susie exclaimed from her lookout post.

"Susie, I told you. I will take full responsibility for obstructing justice."

"Oh, boy," Frost muttered.

"Maura, please tell me you have a good reason for palming Natalie's retainers because I don't want to spend our honeymoon visiting you in jail."

Maura pointed to the dental molds. "This is Natalie's maxillary upper and her mandibular lower. She had active orthodontic treatment as a teenager. Watch this." Maura placed Natalie's retainers on the molds.

"They don't fit," Frost said. "You're sure those are Natalie's?"

"Yes. Her alignment has relapsed."

"So Natalie didn't wear them," Jane concluded.

"How long had it been since she did?" Frost asked.

"Years ... two to three, at least," Maura answered.

"But we found them with her in her briefcase," Jane stated.

"Why would you take retainers that don't fit?" Frost asked.

"You wouldn't," Maura answered.

"She didn't pack them. Somebody else did," Jane said.

"Not the boyfriend. He'd know she didn't wear them," Frost added.

"Maura, this is great," Jane said. "Definitely worth visiting you in jail for."

"What?" Maura asked, shocked.

"I'm joking. You did good, Maur." Jane smiled a proud smile at her wife, then turned to Frost. "We got to get into Natalie's apartment."

"Why? What will that tell you?" Maura

"If somebody else packed her things, that somebody was in the apartment," Jane responded.

"And if we're right, then Natalie wasn't running, she was set up," Frost said. "But, how do we get past the Feds?"

Jane smiled and said, "We're gonna need help."

...

The rest of the day was busy, but fruitful. As evidence piled up, the picture of what happened to Natalie Bloomfield became clearer. Even having to dodge obstacles from the feds, the team was able to close the case and bring a killer to justice. And even better, Jane and Maura were able to catch a last minute flight to Paris.

Jane and Maura should have been exhausted after the events of the last two days, but they managed to grab some sleep on their seven hour flight and they felt refreshed and at peace by the time they arrived at their hotel.

Jane stood on the balcony overlooking the city, her hands gripping the railing and her senses taking in everything that was uniquely Paris. The slight breeze pushed her hair into her face and she moved to push it back behind her ear.

Maura stepped out onto the balcony bare foot and giddy, her hands clasped around something hidden behind her back. She stepped up next to Jane. Jane looked over at her beautiful wife and smiled. Maura pushed up onto her tiptoes to press her lips to Jane's.

"Hey," Jane said when they separated.

"Hey." Maura smiled. "I have something for you."

"What? I thought we weren't doing gifts."

"We're not, but this isn't really a gift, more of a surprise. Here." Maura pulled her hands from behind her back and pushed a small stick into the palm of Jane's hand.

Jane looked at the two pink lines on the stick and gasped. "Wait, Maura..."

"I'm pregnant."

"Oh my god!" Jane pulled Maura into an extremely tight hug. Maura laughed and let Jane smush her a bit in her excitement.

Jane slowly released her grip on Maura, but never fully let her go. She leaned down and captured Maura's lips in a bruising kiss.

This was the best surprise Jane could have ever asked for.

"How? I mean, when? I – I have so many questions." Jane couldn't contain her excitement and wanted to know every detail.

"Our last IUI attempt worked. I went to the doctor a few days ago when I started feeling fatigued and nauseous. I didn't tell you because I didn't want to disappoint you again when it turned out to be nothing. But, it wasn't nothing." A tear slipped from Maura's eyes and slid down her cheek.

"I wish you would have told me sooner," Jane said.

"I was going to, but then I thought we were so close to being here in Paris, and I wanted it to be special. I didn't think we'd pulled onto a case before we got here. Are you angry that I waited to tell you?"

Jane smiled. "No, not at all. I love this. I love you." Jane pulled Maura in for another hug. "How far along are you?"

"Nine weeks."

Jane placed her hand on Maura's abdomen. "I want to be at every doctor's appointment. I want to know everything."

"I know. I want you to be there, too." Maura placed her hand on top of Jane's. She moved her other hand to caress Jane's cheek. "I love you."

Jane once again leaned down to place her lips on Maura's. She slipped her hand from Maura's touch and swiftly lifted Maura up. Jane carried Maura to bed and their honeymoon began.
