Inside the airship, Triton got transported as close as he could inside the ship's hull. Everything was metallic and high tech for an airship. Things even Triton was unfamiliar with. The only spot he could be transported to was the bottom of the ship. Now all Triton has to do is climb through the ship's passageways and reach the hull before the cannons could fire.

"I won't have much time until Risky fires that weapon," he said. "Let's find the helm of the ship and divert it to the ocean."

Triton begins his journey through the flying fortress. He takes a look outside to see large burning engines. He started to get a little dizzy, knowing he was high above ground. It did not go so well for the hybrid hermit.

Once he lost sight of the sky, he started feeling a bit better. So he climbed the walls with his suction cupped hands, and blasted through glass sealed doors with his screeching voice. As he journeyed deeper into the airship, he came across some of the siren soldiers. He uses all the skills he obtained from defeating the five sirens to combat the soldiers.

He opens a hatched door leading outside of the ship. And that is where Triton experiences a new phobia in his life: Acrophobia. He looks down from the ship, and his skin turns a palish green. And it wasn't his fish scale green skin, it was a nauseous pale green. He gets on his knees then pukes out his lunch over the side and down below. Luckily, they were flying above water.

Triton had to push on, with no one else to help him save his friend. He kept his hands on the safety bars and crawled to the hatch on the other side. "I can do this," he said. "For Shantae." He reaches the hatch and opens the door.

When he got inside, he sighed in relief. "I think I found my new greatest fear," he said. He regains his composure and resumes his rescue mission through the airship. He continues climbing on walls, digging through sandy passages, and fending off against the siren soldiers patrolling the ship.

As he got to another window, he could see how fast they were flying, Triton just had to keep moving. Every second he wastes gives Risky the chance to destroy his island home below. There were times that siren guards had to slow him down, or try to trap him. But Triton's will to save Shantae gave him the strength to move on.

The siren guards wouldn't let him go without a fight. Some even got a few good hits on him. But Triton's vulnerability only made him tougher, making him feel more alive than ever.

Sometimes, he takes his suction cup hands, grabs a firm grip on two of the guards and spin them across the room. The guards get dizzy and knock out more of their soldiers than they thought they could.

Triton kept moving, and kept his mind on rescuing Shantae. He finds passages that lead down to the bottom of the ship. But Triton remembered telling Shantae, "Sometimes a step backwards is a step in the right direction."

He starts thinking back to the time he first met the half genie. He chuckled remembering when she fell flat on his face. Which didn't settle well with him at first. Bolo would've thought that would be a hilarious accident.

"Ooof!" She exclaimed. "I think I bruised my bum." But then she hears muffling nearby. "Who's there?" She asked. But she couldn't tell that she landed on the siren's face. He muffled again, but she could only make out, "My mutt's in the race in Kentucky?"

The creature pokes on her leg and she spots him right below her. "Gah!" She quickly gets up, allowing the siren to breathe again. "I said: Your butt's in my face. Get off me!" said the siren. "Oh my," she said. "I'm so sorry."

He adjusts his nose to make sure it isn't broken. He pulls on it to snap it back into place. "Whatever," he said. "Hope you didn't break my nose.". The creature breathed in through his nostrils to make sure he could breathe properly, and rolled his head.

Then, he recalls fighting the Water Lily Siren. Where his dark secret was exposed to the half genie.

"The truth is, you're not the only half-human in this room." He brushes his arm on the morning dew and shows green scales appearing before her. "I'm also half-human. But the other half, I'm not so sure. I thought if I was entirely sure of who I was, I would've told you sooner."

Shantae was surprised, but Triton was not finished talking. "There are times when creatures underground get the drop on me and take everything I have. And in those times, I lose control of myself. I don't know what I've done, until it's too late. I don't want anyone to get to me, even when I don't know what I am. Either I am something more, or I'm just what they all say I am: a monster. I act tough Shantae. But most of the time, I'm terrified."

Shantae felt his story to heart, even by him calling her by name. She broke the silence and asked him, "How come you didn't tell me that before?"

Triton just replied, "Because we weren't friends before." The two hybrids look up at each other. And for the first time, as long as he could remember, Triton smiled genuinely to Shantae. He reaches his hand out to her.

Then, he thinks back to his major fight after the Angler Fish Siren fight. His greatest regret, leaving the only friend who could guide him to the light.

"I don't care if you're a half-siren."

"But what about everyone else?" Triton asked. "Did you stop to wonder what everyone else would think about me?"

"I do," replied Shantae. "But only if we face the world together."

"I saw their faces," said Triton. "They showed fear. And in that fear, there is also hatred. I go out hunting for food, they get scared, they attack me. There were times when I wanted them to attack me. I'm just tired of them being afraid of me. That's why I stay away from everyone. Because this is how things are. How things will be. I was so stupid to think that things would change."

"What if we could lay them down gently," said Shantae. "Slow things up a bit, show them who you really are. We just have to try."

"We already tried, okay?" Triton cried. "But it's always the same. Topside and bottom. Oil and water. That's all people know in this world."

Shantae didn't want to give up on her hybrid friend. She knew what it was like to be different from everyone else. "What about us?" She asked.

Triton turned away from the half genie. As much as he wanted to see more of the world topside, he was still scared of what the world would think of him. And the fact that he's half-siren made him reflect on how dangerous he is. Then, he turned his head slightly back to say something.

"Oil and water," he said in a sad tone. "It never works out."

"I won't let her hurt you Shantae," he said. "You never gave up on me. So I'm not giving up on you. No matter what!"

Then he comes across a passageway filled with poisoned water. Luckily, it wasn't the kind of water poisonous to sirens. But since Triton was half human, that could make him vulnerable to the poisonous effects. So he blindly jumped in and did his best not to breathe in the water through his gills.

'So this is how it feels to humans who can't breathe underwater,' he thought.

Thankfully he comes out the other side, with only a few spots of human skin looking pale. But Triton kept on going.

Later on, he comes across a cargo hold with crates being carried on a conveyor belt. Some of the guards open the boxes and equip themselves with siren enhanced flintlock pistols.

'Looks like Risky is prepping the siren army for a full scale invasion,' Triton thought. 'But does the control of the siren army work on a pirate like her?'

He continues his way to the helm, passing deadly obstacles and triggering advanced traps for the bold stowaway. As he goes outside the ship once again, he gets pale again and realizes the ship is climbing higher into the sky that the stars began to reveal themselves. He dry heaves his remaining lunch off the side, then looks up to the stars.

The stars were like the sunlight's glow above the water. Triton tried his best to reach out to them before he could reach the hatch door. This made Triton feel more free than ever. From all the times he tried reaching the sun from below his cave, this one was different. This made Triton feel that there was more out there. He was just too afraid to reach out further.

Meanwhile inside the ship's helm, a monitor was showing Triton's location. And he was getting closer to the bridge. The silhouettes grinned at each other and one of them pointed the second one to a position on the other side of the bridge. The first silhouette continues watching Triton come closer then fiendishly chuckles with delight.

Before Triton knew it, he was just outside the entrance to the bridge. The doorway looked exactly like the ones where he encountered the other five sirens. "Why does this feel like a recurring thing?" he asked. "That all the bosses appear behind these doors?"

Suddenly the door opens, and Triton looks with confidence. After taking a small bite of food he picked up from one of the siren guards, he knew he was ready. "Let's do this," he said. He enters the doorway and into the bridge.

Inside, he finds the mysterious figure waiting for him across the room. The figure comes out, revealing to be the mayor of Arena Town.

"Triton!" he cheered. "Thank goodness you're here!"

Triton was most confused. "Mayor? How did you get up here?"

"There's no time," said the Mayor. "You gotta help me! Please!"

Triton had a look of concern on his face considering how scared he sounded. He wanted to help him, but something in his gut was telling him otherwise. But against his judgment, he decided to do the right thing and approach him.

Then, Triton gets a whiff of the Mayor's scent. That's what led him to stop getting closer. "Wait a minute," he said. "Why do you smell like gunpowder?"

The mayor starts to look more nervous than before. Then he pushes a button causing the door behind him to lock up tight. Triton turned around quickly, then realized it was a trap. "I should've known," he said. "Where's Shantae!?"

"Oh she's fine," said the Mayor. "Let's talk."

Triton's rage grew more furious when the mayor grinned. "If you so much as lay a finger on that girl!" Triton threw himself to the mayor, only to be trapped in a cage dropped on top of him. "HEY! Open this cod fishing cage right now!"

The mayor chuckled, "You interfered with my plans for the last time. Now that you're here…" Then, his voice changed to a female's. "It's best to keep you under lock and key. Ho ho ho."

"Wait a minute," said Triton. "That voice, that laugh, that smell…" It took Triton a few seconds to realize this was all a trick. And who better to come up with tricks, than a pirate. "I should've known a pirate would be so clever with putting on a disguise. Especially if a woman dresses up like a man. Isn't that right, Risky Boots?"

The mayor suddenly opened up his coat to reveal that it was actually Risky Boots in disguise. She grinned ear to ear seeing that she caught herself a wonderful hybrid. Triton gripped on the bars, trying to rip them off and attack the pirate.

"You were the mayor this whole time?!" Triton asked.

"Exactly," replied Risky. "And it was a brilliant performance. It's the imperfections that make a character. Don't you agree?"

"I can understand a thing or two about changing appearances," said Triton. "Now where is Shantae!?"

"I told you," said Risky. "She's fine. For now." She climbs out of her disguise and proceeds to the main console. She raises Triton's cage with a crane and lifts him to the side of the room. "I gotta admit, you even had me fooled with your disguise. But your siren abilities made me think otherwise. No human could ever do what you do. Sonic screeching, climbing on walls, laser eyes, electric arms, coral body armor, soothing singing. All that power, and you choose to keep it to yourself."

"That's funny coming from you," said Triton. "You tricked everyone you come in contact with, all for a stupid airship."

"And it was all worth it," said Risky. "You see, long ago I discovered this island. And the ship, buried deep underground. It was a glorious find that I had to have. It would be a vessel fit for a queen."

Triton got agitated at Risky's statement again. "For the last time," he said. "You are no queen!"

Risky drew her sword and slammed it on Triton's bars. The impact on the sword caused Triton to knock down. "Watch your mouth, landlubber!" she shouted. "Or I will deny the Empress her fun!"

Triton gets back up and realizes what she said. "Empress?" he asked. "You mean the Seventh Siren?!"

"She had a run in with the genies and robbed her of her physical form," said Risky.

"I know," said Triton. "I saw the murals."

"Murals?" Risky asked.

"I was escorted by the lobster siren not long ago," said Triton. "She showed me that the seventh siren was not only defeated by the genies, but that the genies were aided by the last thing that she would expect."

"And who would that be?" Risky asked.

"The Eighth Siren," replied a raspy voice. The mysterious voice comes crawling out from the other passage, carrying Shantae as their prisoner. The figure was an elderly creature dressed in a white cloth, with purple lobster legs and tail. She had antennas on her head and a pale yellow crown. She had pale blue eyes and long hair to slightly hide her ear fins. That figure was none other than the seventh siren herself; the Empress Siren. "My good-for-nothing traitor sister."

"Ah, Empress," said Risky. "So glad you could join us."

Triton gasped. "Shantae!"

Shantae wakes up feeling groggy, but she perks up seeing Triton. "Triton! What happened?"

"We're just about to finalize my end of the bargain," said Risky. "An arrangement that would benefit the both of us."

"Five drops of genie life force," said the Empress. "And the power of the siren overlords… In exchange for the ship."

"Genie Life Force?" Triton asked.

"Watch carefully…" said the Empress Siren. She takes Shantae's cage and places it in front of Risky and Triton. She waves her hands and casts a spell on Shantae. The bright orb surrounds Shantae causing her to scream in pain.

Triton watches in horror as the Empress drains Shantae of her life force. "Empress! Stop it!"

The Empress just grinned and continued using her magic on her. "This half genie escaped my grasp one time too many," she said. "Can't take any chances. And besides, a full sample of life force…" The bright orb starts to surround the Empress until she couldn't be seen by Risky or Triton.

When the bright orb disappeared, the Empress' appearance changed from an elderly witch to a beautiful woman. "Now this is more like it," she said.

Shantae, stood with a lifeless gaze in her eyes. The next thing she did was fall to the ground, closing her eyes.

Triton emotionally broke down, seeing the lifeless body of his first friend. "NOOOOOOOO!" He kept jumping, punching, shaking, and rattling in his cage, trying to get to his friend. But it was no use. So he stood there, crying his eyes out.

"I take it the ghost genie's spell is broken?" Risky asked the Empress.

"Indeed it is," replied the Empress. "My physical form has been restored! With the power of the half genies, I have achieved immortality! And like my siren sisters, I can feed on mortals once more! I will live forever and beyond!"

"And I will rule the seas with my powerful airship!" Risky laughed. The two antagonists laughed in triumph while Triton just stared at the body of his first friend. "Men! We've captured the brats! Power down the weapons and prepare to escort the Empress back to her island at once! I will dispose of this half-siren runt myself."

But before Risky could do anything, the Empress clawed Risky in the back. Triton was surprised, but soon realized what Risky was dealing with.

"Sorry, pirate," said the Empress. "This is more of a family matter. Men! Take her to the brig. Lock her up and throw away the key."

"You wretched beast!" cried Risky. "Treachery! Mutiny!" A couple of siren soldiers grabbed Risky by the arms and dragged her off the bridge below deck into the brig.

Triton and the Empress were all alone on the bridge. "I have you to thank for exposing that pirate," said the Empress.

"What are you talking about?" Triton asked. "How did I expose her?"

"I had to find a way to communicate with that pirate," replied the Empress. "So I hid a small starfish in her hat, reporting back to me wherever she goes."

That's when Triton remembered a key factor in one of his conversations with Risky. "You think all that power is going to make you queen?" Triton asked. "You're just a pirate, and always will be. Once you make a deal with someone, you betray them the first chance you get!"

"I said that, and the starfish reported back to you?" said Triton.

"Exactly," said the Empress. "When you're an all powerful being making a deal with a pirate, always expect a backstabbing at any time. Because all it takes is one opportunity to overtake what you made in a single moment."

Triton looks back to Shantae and expresses his sorrow. "Guess you leave no stone unturned," he said.

"Survival, kid," said the Empress. "You out of all of us should know that. So what do you think?"

"I used to think survival was the only thing I could count on," said Triton. "But there's more to life than just surviving alone."

"You really think you could be like all those living creatures down there?" asked the Empress. "You're a fool. Just like my traitor of a sister. But it doesn't have to be like this…"

"It doesn't?" Triton asked.

"No," replied the Empress. "My sister, Serena and I were inseparable. The most powerful dynamic duo in the whole world. Me, her, and our siren sisters were goddesses to the mortals. Invincible, with no one to stand in our way. But you, you can be worshiped like me. Like my sisters. Like Serena. All you have to do is return all of the siren's powers that have fused with you."

"What?!" Triton gasped. "I have the siren's powers?"

"Exactly," said the Empress. "All the abilities you have collected belong to all of your siren aunts. Your abilities are what make you unique from the other sirens. With me in charge and you by my side, we can be adored by the whole world again! All I ask is for you to give up your abilities to me. You won't be alone anymore, nephew."

Triton looked to his human hands and took a moment to think about the Empress' offer. All the power he collected, by standing close to the defeated sirens, were at his fingertips. All he wanted was to be accepted, by those he considered family. With the Empress claiming his blood right beside her, he could feel welcomed.

But then, he looked to Shantae, and remembered all the events that transpired in his life. And recalls Shantae's statement that changed his perspective about society. "I don't care what the world thinks about you. You're not a monster, and if they can't see that, that's their problem. You don't need the world to love you. You just need your world, which includes the people you care about the most."

He looks down at Shantae's body, then looks to the Empress. He scowls at her determined grin and says, "I'll never join you."

The Empress was shocked. "You dare defy ME!? Your FAMILY!?"

"If you knew what family really meant," said Triton. "You would've never messed with mine."

"So be it," said the Empress. "Hear me, my soldiers! Turn this ship around! I am going to drain the life force of all the living creatures on that island! And then, blow it clean off the map!"

Just then, the armada of siren soldiers flooded the bridge and prepared to change course of the ship. Triton watched helpless, not being able to fight back. He couldn't just let the Empress get away. He had to do something for Shantae.

He gets up from his cage, takes a deep breath, and with a loud, "STOP!" His sonic screech caused all the soldiers to collapse and groan in pain. The screech also caused his cage to break open, freeing him. The Empress was trying so hard to recompose herself from the screech, for it hurt her ears as well.

"How did you-"

"GIVE SHANTAE BACK!" Shouted Triton.

"Never!" cried the Empress. "You really think you can defeat me? I am immortal!" The Empress gets in a fighting stance. "Prepare yourself, nephew. For this fight will be your LAST!"

Triton prepares for the fight of his life. And the two go at each other like two swordfish. For the first few minutes, the two punched, kicked, blocked, and parried. Then during a block, Triton sideswipes the Empress knocking her down. He clenched his fists together to slam down on his foe.

But the Empress simply vanished and reappeared on the ceiling. She uses her voice to summon two electric orbs across the room. One of them hit Triton, and charred his skin. Then, the Empress appears on the walls and conjures up a batch of bubbles with a blow of a kiss. Some of the bubbles hit Triton on the chest, but did little damage to the hybrid.

Triton jumps up and tries to yank the Empress off the wall. But she was as strong as a barnacle on a rock, so she didn't let go so easily. The Empress then slashes his chest, making a scratch mark as he lets go and falls.

The Empress teleports herself off the wall and stands face to face against her nephew, She draws out two scimitar swords and starts slashing at Triton. Triton uses his coral armor to block and parry the attacks. Every slash the Empress made, proved to be impossible to cut through coral. But she could make a few marks.

Triton used his laser eyes to stop the Empress from swinging her swords. Then, he took a few swings to knock her down. The punches were mildly effective. But by combining his punches with his sonic screeches and laser eyes, he was able to get a few hits off the siren.

the Empress drops her swords and pants heavily. And so does Triton, after a long ensuring battle. "So, have you had enough yet?" He asked.

"Tired already?" the Empress teased. "That was just a portion of my full potential. Witness my full power, and face your doom!"

With a wave of her hands, the ground on the airship began to rumble and roar. A beacon of light spewed from the ground and filled the room. When the light died down, Triton found himself being overlooked by the Empress siren. Who has grown three stories high and sporting some armor decorated with red pearls. With the power of the half genie life forces, she was known as the Ultra Empress Siren.

Triton tried to stand his ground, but the Empress wouldn't give him a chance. The Empress would fire plasma blasts from her red pearls. Every attack was successful at knocking Triton down.

Triton couldn't keep up with her attacks. Every punch and every screech was absorbed in the Empress' powers. Before he knew it, the Empress caught up with his dodging.

The Empress blasted him with her plasma blasting red pearls. Every hit Triton took felt like a strong wave hitting the rocks. His body started feeling extreme pain that he couldn't keep up with the fighting. The Empress uses her left leg to kick Triton with maximum strength. The kick pushes Tiriton back across the room and slamming into the wall.

Battered and bruised, Triton couldn't stand properly. The Empress was laughing at his defeat. "Did you really think you had what it takes to defeat me?" She asked. "The only thing that makes you weak is that you're different from the other sirens. You've grown soft because you care for the mortals, just like Serena."

She gets back to the helm of the ship and prepares to turn around. "If you care for the mortals so much, then you can watch them die!" The Empress laughed in triumph, and Triton laid in sorrow. He knew he couldn't defeat her.

As he passes out from the pain, he finds himself in an open area surrounded by light. "Where am I?" He asked.

"That's not important," said a mysterious voice.

Triton turns around to see a glowing lime green figure floating to him. The figure had feathered wings for legs and clouds for a robe. Her hair had lengths that covered her back. Her eyes were milky light green, and her ears looked just like Triton when he is exposed to water.

Triton was enamored by her beauty. "You're a siren too?" He asked.

"I am more than that Triton," she said. "I'm Serena. I am your mother."

Triton stood in shock. "Mom?"

"Listen," said Serena. "I don't have much time. You have to wake up and fight the Empress Siren."

"How?" Triton asked. "I can't fight her while she's holding all the half-genie life forces. She's invincible."

"Perhaps," said Serena. "But she fails to know that you have the same powers that she has."

"I what?!" Triton asked.

"You hold the same powers that the Empress holds. And the only way to unlock them is if you embrace the siren within you."

Serena starts to fade away, just as Triton had more questions than answers. "How do I embrace my inner siren?!" He called out. But Serena didn't respond and faded into the light.

Triton sat down, feeling desperate. He didn't know how to follow his mother's instructions, nor did he know about his inner siren. He looks at his hands and concentrates using his head. But nothing happens.

Then he felt a warm feeling coming from his heart. His heart creates an illusion of all the people he's encountered. From Sky's big sister attitude, and her annoying bird, Wrench. To Bolo's brotherly bonding, and Mimic's loyalty to family. To the sassiness of Rottytops, but her high spirits that makes people happy. And finally, Shantae, with her heart as warm and welcoming to everyone, including enemies like Risky.

Triton looks at Shantae's illusion and smiles as wide as his heart could make. He reaches out to touch her hands, but they phase through. He thought that if she could make it being a hybrid, so can he. But his heart felt more human than siren.

'She's more of a siren than I'll ever be,' he thought. 'But I'm not all siren. Half of me is human, and that's the half that can beat her. I just need to embrace who I am. No more fear.'

He gets back up on his feet and looks to the light. He closes his eyes and allows his skin to change again, without being exposed to water. As he did, he goes up to the light and prepares to wake up and face the Empress again.

Back in the real world, Triton wakes up in his fish skinned form inside the brig. He sees Shantae's husk of a body and Risky Boots knocked unconscious after a failed escape attempt. He bellows out a sonic screech and opens his caged door by force. The siren guards took notice and prepared to attack.

Back on the bridge, the Ultra Empress Siren sees the island below her and takes aim with the ship's cannons. All of the island's inhabitants could watch in horror as the cannons power up.

"I've won!" Shouted the Empress. But before she could laugh, the ship began to shake and roll. Then, a large figure popped out of the floor of the bridge.

The figure was also a giant siren, with lime green skin. The legs have large fish flippers, and the hair was replaced with octopus tentacles. The hands were webbed and the eyes were glowing bright light green. The outfit the siren was wearing was a coral chest plate, with barnacle shoulder pads and sea urchin spikes. That siren was Triton.

Triton conjures up a weapon with his voice and creates a golden triton. He gets in a defensive stance and prepares for another fight.

"You just don't know when to quit, do you?" Asked the Empress.

Triton swings his weapon at the Empress, but she blocks it. She grins at his new look. "How fitting to see you finally looking like one of us," she said.

"Yes," said Triton. "All this time I feared to look like you. But look what happens when I do." He points to the monitor, showing the crowd cheering for Triton.

"Go Triton!" "Take her down!" "This is your end, Empress!"

"You will never defeat me!" Cried the Empress.

The two skirmish over the controls of the ship, and the Empress falls to the ground. The Empress tried to get him off with her laser eyes. But Triton counteracted the impact with his laser eyes. He tackles her and damages her knee pads that are covered with red pearls.

The Empress draws her scimitar swords and slashes Triton. But he blocks the attack with his coral armor. He counteracts her attacks with an uppercut, damaging her earrings. Then the Empress slashes again causing a small scar on Triton's tentacle hair.

The Empress jumped up and tackled him down. "Do you really think you have what it takes to win?" She asked. "Even if you defeat me, I will simply return again and again! I cannot be vanquished!"

"Every sea serpent has its weak spot," said Triton. "Even powerful serpants like you!" Triton uses his fish legs to push her off of him and into the ship's console.

The Empress tries using her laser eyes again to hit Triton again. But Triton used his laser eyes to counteract hers. The Empress started to grow tired and ruthless. So she gave it all she got to finish off Triton.

Triton's will, however, is much stronger than the Empress'. The thought of protecting his friends drove him to push back harder and harder. His eye beams grew brighter, and stronger than his beams overpowered the Empress. His mind looks back to all the friends he's made. Mimic, Plink, Vera, Zapple, Harmony, Sky, Bolo, and Shantae.

The young siren's laser eyes blasts into the Empress' eyes. And the impact knocks her to the ground and a large bright light surrounds the two giant beings and engulfs the entire air ship. The crowds from below could only gaze away, wondering who won the fight.

The bright light diminished and the two sirens were back to their regular forms. Triton took this chance and slowly approached the Empress with caution. The Empress laid on the ground with her eyes shut from the fight.

"It's time to set things right," said Triton. The hybrid waved his hands, summoning a magic orb of light. As he closed his eyes, he concentrated his magic ability by singing on key. The orb of light gets pushed into the Empress Siren causing her to shout in pain.

The magical orb returns to his hands, shining brighter than before. The Empress reverts to her old withered form, shaking like a leaf from all the power that has left her body.

"H-how did you do that?" asked the Empress.

"I embraced the siren within me," replied Triton.

Just then, the four half genies, and Rottytops, appear behind him.

Triton smiles at them. "I may have the power to feed on mortals like my aunts. But my mother had a special power that even the Empress doesn't understand." He looks to the orb and then back to his friends. "I can give back all the power that was stolen."

Triton uses his special siren powers to return the drops of genie life force to the four half-genies and Rottytops. As for the rest of the orb, it returns its way to Shantae's body, making her look young and refreshed again. But she remains unconscious.

"NOOO!" cried the Empress. "My body! I was invincible! How could I be defeated!?"

"I told you," said Triton. "You may have had immortality, but you weren't completely immortal to siren magic. By hearing the call of the siren, that's all it took to unlock my mother's special abilities."

The half-genies were happy hearing him embrace his other half. "Plus, you couldn't stop absorbing all the life forces that you trapped underground," said Triton. "You had the scent of a rotten body. No offense Rottytops."

"None taken," replied Rottytops.

"Your ambition of taking the life forces from mortals was your downfall," said Triton. "You'd never know if any of it is poisoned."

"Life everlasting was mine!" cried the Empress. "MINE!"

Then out of nowhere, the Empress started imposing from the inside. Without the life force of the half genies, the Empress aged rapidly away and eventually a bright light reverted her to dust. The Seventh Siren had been defeated.

Then, the airship started to shake and implode. "This doesn't sound good," said Plink.

"The ship took too much damage," said Zapple.

"It's going down!" cried Vera.

"Get Rottytops out of here," said Triton. "I got the airship!"

Without any delay, Plink, Vera, and Zapple take Rottytops away. They magically transport themselves back to the island. Harmony, however, stayed behind.

"You know you can't stop the ship from crashing," she said.

"But I can control where it crashes," said Triton. "Once I aim the ship into the ocean, I'll get Shantae out of here."

"But do you know where she is?" Harmony asked. "With the Empress gone, her body could be anywhere. Even if you know where she is, you can't teleport her out of the airship."

"I'll figure something out," said Triton. "She saved my life twice. She'd do it again! So to give mine for hers, is as it should be."

"You are determined to stay?" Harmony asked.

Triton simply nodded, making Harmony smile. "I understand," she said. "Go. I will see to the others. Good luck, Triton."

And with that, Harmony teleports herself off the airship. Triton takes the wheel on the airship and turns the ship around. The airship changes course pointing away from the island and into the sea. Now that that's done, Triton had one last mission to accomplish: Rescue Shantae.

As the ship came tumbling down from the sky, Triton jumped down the hole he created all the way to the brig. He finds Shantae and Risky, still unconscious, and buried in the rubble below. "Shantae!" He cried. "Hang on! I'll get you out!" He rushes over and uses his siren strength to dig Shantae and Risky out. Just as he was about to reach them, a sudden flow of water came in and swept them away.

Meanwhile, at the edge of the island, all of Shantae's friends and the half genies watch in horror as the airship goes down. With no sign of Shantae or Triton. The airship successfully crashes into the water. And the holes made in the hulls led in enough water to overwhelm the entire airship.

"Where are they?" Rottytops asked. Soon the ship began sinking faster and faster. "Do you think they're-?"

Inside the flooded airship, Triton perked up from the impact of the water and swam as fast as he could. He found Shantae and Risky floating lifelessly in the water. Triton grew sad at the state his first friend was in.

"No," he said. "It can't end like this!" He takes Shantae and Risky out of the ship and into open waters. All while the ship imploded, Triton was giving Shantae a pep talk.

"Shantae," he said. "Ever since we first met, I thought you were just a nuisance. But all that changed when you saw my siren from. You weren't afraid of me. You showed me kindness, compassion, and friendship. You were even willing to sacrifice your life to save mine, twice. You showed me there was more to life than just my cave."

Triton cups his hands to Shantae's face. "You never gave up on me. So I won't give up on you," he said.

Triton pressed his lips on Shantae's and breathed air into her lungs. And thanks to his half-siren powers, a green aura glowed from Shantae's heart. The aura made all her scratches and bruises disappear.

Then, Shantae opened her eyes, filled with life once again. She smiles at Triton and tries to speak. But Triton stops her, reminding her that they're underwater. The two hug in joy and relief, then he turns to Risky Boots' unconscious body.

"Shantae," said Triton. "You taught me that evil is just a word. That I'm not a monster. And that mercy and compassion is the true victory in a fight." He cupped Risky's face and pressed his lips against hers. Shantae watched in shock and confusion, but realized that he's doing that to save her life. After he pulled away from the unconscious pirate, he took Shantae's hand and they swam back up to the surface.

They rested on a rock near a cliff where their friends were watching the ship sink. Triton called out, "Hey Guys! Down here!"

Bolo heard Triton's call and spotted him, Shantae, and Risky below. "That sounds like… Shantae! Triton!"

Triton and Shantae sigh in relief and meet up with the others on the beach. Sky, Triton, Rottytops, and Mimic rush to hug their half-genie friend in a sense of relief.

"Uncle! Sky! Bolo! Rottytops!" cried Shantae.

"Shantae, You made it!" Cheered Bolo.

"Indeed," said Mimic. "And not only that, they saved Risky Boots as well."

"Actually," said Shantae. "It was Triton who saved her and me from drowning in that ship."

"How did you do that?" Sky asked.

"I basically helped provide them oxygen for their lung capacities before they could fill them with water," replied Triton.

"Wait a minute!" Cried Risky. "Are you telling us you kissed them!?"

Triton and Shantae stood still with their faces turning red. Until Harmony spoke up. "That's how it works with a siren. It was said that a siren's kiss is a blessing of immortality. But in order to gain immortality, the one the siren kissed must forsake whatever the siren wishes for."

"Either that," said Mimic. "Or he was trying to perform CPR under the sea."

"So why bother to save Risky at all?" Sky asked.

"Because I'm not a monster," replied Triton. "I may be a powerful creature, but it's not up to me to decide who lives and who dies. It's not right."

"Exactly," said Rottytops. "You two are the good guys!"

Triton spots Harmony and the other half genies. "Harmony, did everything go well on your end?" He asked.

"That's right," replied Harmony. "Every one of us is fully restored and good as new."

The group starts to hear a groaning sound coming from Risky Boots. She started moving around and woke up with sand in her mouth. "Bleh!"

"Guess she's conscious again," said Bolo.

Shantae goes over to help her up, but Risky yanks her arm away from her. "Get your filthy hands off me!"

"Is that how you say thanks to those who just saved your life?" Triton asked.

"Psh," scoffed Risky. "Don't think I owe you one."

"Simmer down, sister," said Sky.

"Those two did the right thing," said Bolo. "Especially after you tried to blow all of us up."

"That wasn't my intention," said Risky. "I just thought I would take advantage of the opportunity."

"What are you talking about?" Shantae asked.

"I created the Half-Genie festival to lure you all here," said Risky. "Once the half genies were captured, the Empress could feed on their life forces. I tried convincing the Empress that the runt's life force was inferior and tainted."

"But the Empress saw through your trick," said Triton. He approached the pirate, took her hat, and ripped off the small starfish she planted on. "She planted this starfish and it eavesdropped on everything you said behind her back."

"What!?" Risky cried.

"Maybe you should've seen that coming," said Sky.

"She's right," said Triton. "If you're dealing with a bad guy, always expect them to take an opportunity to stab you in the back. It could cost you everything you've hoped to accomplish. But the fact that you tried to spare Shantae from the Empress' plans…"

"It proves you cared about me," said Shantae with a smile.

"Don't flatter yourself," said Risky, crossing her arms. "You and that siren-runt were the ace up my sleeve. If ever the Empress tried to betray me, I figured either one of you two would be the ones to stop her." She points to Shantae, "But like a childish oaf, you kept getting in my way." Then she turns back to Triton. "But you would've done exactly what I thought you'd do if you hadn't gotten involved."

"I needed to keep the fools caged up long enough to drain all five in proper amounts. Five actual drops of half-genie life force and she really would have become invincible. But what she didn't expect is that the only way to stop a siren would be another siren. So I captured the runt and left the rest to the half-siren."

"Well," said Triton. "She wasn't entirely invincible, considering that she took the life force of a zombie and mixed it with the half-genies."

"Guess that makes me a hero," said Rottytops.

"I figured once I had the ship," said Risky. "I'd blast the empress and whatever's left of those Sirens into quivering puddles of jelly.

"All this so you could get yourself a ship?" Shantae asked.

"It's what pirates do," said Triton. "Once a pirate sets its sight on a treasure they don't let go without a fight."

"And why not?" Risky asked. "I'm the queen of the seven seas. I deserve the very best. You got rid of the sirens, I got a new airship."

"Again with the queen business," said Triton. "The fact that the Empress knew you were going to trick her is enough for me to know you still have a lot to learn if you're ever going to be queen."

"There had better not be a scratch on my new airship or you will all pay dearly!"

"But that statement," said Triton. "Is enough to convince me that you're still a pirate. And you may as well be one your whole life."

"Triton!" Shantae cried. "I still like to believe that she'd turn over a new leaf. That someday we could all work together as a team."

Then Triton smiled, "But we did work together as a team. She tried to spare you from the Empress' grasp. And she showed me the truth about my past."

The group was most shocked, including Shantae. And that's when Risky's Tinkerbats came to their captain.

"Men," said their captain. "Ready my bath, and make it extra hot this time. Mommy has a headache." They carry Risky away, leaving the rest of the group on the beach. "Put me down!" she cried.

"She won't be happy when she finds out about the ship," said Shantae.

"Yeah," said Triton. "Especially since someone left the water running."

The group laughed at Triton's comment, then Shantae walked up to Triton.

"Triton," she said. "Thank you for saving my life."

Triton smiled at the half genie. "Actually I'd say we're even now," said Triton. "I may have saved you from the Empress. But you, you saved me from me."

"You saved all of us," said Bolo. "Not human, not siren, you're a hero!"

"And with all that behind us, we should make sure everyone is alright," said Harmony.

"The arena back in town is pretty much ruined," said Plink. "But there's still time to host the Half-Genie Festival somewhere else."

"You seriously want to resume the festival?" Shantae asked.

"I'd like that," replied Triton. "It'd give me a chance to see a celebration first hand. And besides…" He takes Shantae's hand and smiles. "Someone still owes me a dance lesson."

"That's great," said Vera. "We can move the festival to Tree Town!"

"Or Armor Town," said Zapple.

"How about both?" Plink asked. "We could perform days at Armor Town and evenings by torchlight in Tree Town! Who's with me?"

"Let's do it!" Vera cheered.

"I'm in!" Sky cheered. "I'm ready for a real vacation!"

"And maybe I can get a decent room this time!" said Bolo.

"With me on stage, we'll be a sure fire hit," said Rottytops.

"I'd like to spend more time with those scientists," said Mimic.

Shantae, still holding Triton's hand, smiled at him and he nodded. "Let's take this vacation again," she said. "Once more from the top!" The group leave the beach and return to the remains of Arena Town.
