Chapter 10: 1,000:
Jack's POV:
"Those knights brrroke into my kastle," says Kubla Krause, "They stole my brrride, and then you brrroke in and you took my brrread!"
"Lies," I said while eating Kubla Krause's bread, "all lies!"
"I shall send 1,000 keh-nights to attack the village," says Kubla Kraus.
. . .
We were locked in a dungeon and Snip was counting the keh-nights. "997, 998, 999, 1,000," says Snip, "that's 1,000 keh-nights!"
"You have to admit," I said, "he's a villain of his word."
"What do we do now," asks Holly.
"I'll turn these chains to ice," I said.
"How," asks Snip, "earlier, I tried to make a snowflake for old time's sake, but it ended up being a Doiley for the dining room table."
I tried, but I just ended up breathing on the chains. "I'll whistle up a snowstorm," I said. I tried, but it didn't work.
"Imagine that," says Holly, "becoming human means no power."
"Then there's only one thing to do," I said, "Father Winter!" And we turned back into sprites, and I whistle up a snowstorm, freezing Kubla Kraus' entire castle and his army. I then had to talk to Father Winter.
