U.A's Pirate King
"Damn it, I can't believe I'm about to be late for the Entrance Exams." Kami cursed, running down the hall of his apartment.
"Wait, don't forget breakfast."
"Thanks." Kami said, his arm stretching back from the door, and grabbing some toast with eggs on them.
Almost a second later after his arm snapped back, there was a comical sound of what sounded like tires skidding to a halt, before Kami came rushing into the dinning area, and saw who was standing there.
"Good morning." The young woman smiled.
Kami just looked at the young woman, baffled at why she would be in his house.
She stood around as tall as him, standing in the kitchen with a brown complexion, and silver-white hair, with violet and red mixed into the color scheme. Said hair is shorter on the sides, giving her an undercut, while kept long on top, where it is mostly drawn back, flowing freely down past her nape, to her shoulder blades; she had side locks hanging down on the right of her face, to her collarbone, woven into thin braids. She had narrow red eyes, with prominent yet elegant dark eyebrows, a small straight nose, thin full lips, and a soft tear shaped chin, wearing a white shirt that seemed too big for her, and acted as a dress. (Seraphim Hancock with my own personal touches.)
"Uh…" Kami just looked at her, in disbelief, as if he'd seen a ghost.
"What, no hello for your fiance?" She asked.
~U.A~
"Ugh, I finally made it in time." Kami sighed. "Didn't help that 'she' arrived out of the blue in my kitchen."
"Kami, good morning."
Kami looked up and smiled when he saw his friend from the past 10 months.
"Morning Midoriya." Kami smiled.
"What took you? The exams are about to start." Midoriya asked.
"Sorry, there was a bit of a surprise that took me off guard at my place this morning." Kami said.
"Isn't that what surprises are supposed to do?" Midoriya asked.
"Normally, but this one took a turn for the worst." Kami stated. "An' she's staying at my place."
"She?" Midoriya asked.
"Her name's Vi and…"
"Move it extras."
Kami and Midoriya looked to who spoke and saw the angry blonde who'd been taken hostage during the sludge villain crisis.
"Get out of my way, before I light you on fire, Deku." He stated.
"Deku?" Kami asked.
"It's his nickname for me." Midoriya said. "His name's Katsuki Bakugo. But I just call him Kacchan."
"Oh, so the ugly blonde's a bully?" Kami inquired.
"You did not just…"
"Who the hell you calling ugly, dumbass?" Bakugo questioned, grabbing Kami by the front of his uniform shirt.
"Well, I thought it was obvious?" Kami said, looking at Bakugo. "You of course."
"Stop, you're just gonna make him even madder." Midoriya said.
"Why you little…"
"Hold it right there."
That voice caused Kami to freeze up, as he turned his head around, looking straight at the person it belonged to.
There stood Vi, with an angered look, directed at Bakugo. She was dressed in a school uniform, with the clothes hugging her body, showing how mature and developed she was for her age. She also had the addition of a pair of snake earrings hanging from her earlobes.
"Get your hands off of him." She stated, pointing at Bakugo, while her head was craning back.
'She's looking down on him so much, she's looking up.' Midoriya thought.
"Vi, I can handle this." Kami said.
"Who the hell are you bitch?" Bakugo questioned.
"Did you not hear me? I said let go, of my betrothed." Vi stated.
Kami just sighed, as Midoriya looked at her, then the straw hat wearing boy, in shock.
"Betrothed?" Midoriya asked.
"It's a long story." Kami stated. "I'll explain after the exams, okay?"
"Sure thing." Midoriya said, before Bakugo backed off.
"I forgot, you're All Might's brat, huh?" Bakugo questioned, releasing Kami's shirt. "Don't get me wrong, you won't be able to hide behind Daddy's shadow forever. I'm gonna be the one to surpass him. I'm gonna be the next #1One, and surpass his strength in his prime."
"Sure, keep telling yourself that." Kami said, before he smirked. "But I'm gonna be King of the Heroes."
"Kami." Vi said, sounding happy as she hugged his arm. "You ran off in such a rush this morning, I didn't give you a goodbye kiss to wish you luck."
"Vi, I'm running late as is." Kami said.
"I know, but I wanted to see you off, like a good wife should." Vi smiled.
"Yeah, about that?" Midoriya asked.
"There's not really much to tell right now." Kami sighed. "Like I said Midoriya, I'll tell you after the exams."
"Right."
"Are you gonna be taking the exams as well?" Kami asked, looking to Vi.
"Mm-mmm. I'm taking the support course exams." Vi said. "Fighting's never really been my strong suit. Plus, my Quirk isn't really suited for the battle field, so I'm gonna be a hero in another way, one that I know you'll need."
"Great." Kami smiled. "Then let's do our best."
~Practical Introductions~
"What's up U.A Candidates, thanks for tuning into me, your school DJ. C'mon and let me hear ya." Present Mic called out, setting his ear to the crowd, only to get no one in response. "Keeping it mellow huh? I can dig it. "Let's talk about how this practical exam's gonna go down, okay? Are you ready? Yeah. Like your application said, today you rocking boys and girls will be out there rocking ten minute mock battles in super hip urban settings. Gird your loins my friends, after I drop the mic here, you'll be heading for your specified battle center, sound good?" Present Mic asked.
Kami and Midoriya picked up the cards they were handed when they came into the auditorium. After looking at his card, he turned to Midoriya, who was sitting to Bakugo's left.
"Okay-okay, let's check out your targets. There are three types of faux villains in every battle center. You'll earn points based on their levels of difficulty, so better choose wisely." Present Mic stated. "Your goal in this trial is to use your Quirk to raise your score, by shredding these faux villains like a mid-song guitar solo. But check it, make sure you're keeping face in throwing. Attacking other examinees is a U.A no-no, you dig?"
"Excuse me sir but I have a question." A student in a school uniform, glasses, and rough dark hair exclaimed, standing up and raising his hand. This is Tenya Iida, a stickler for the rules and has a bit of a habit of moving his right arm like a robots.
"Hit me." Present Mic said as a spot light landed on the student who raised his hand.
"On the printout, you've listed four types of villains, not three." The student stated. "With all respect, if this is an error on official U.A materials, it's shameful. We are, exemplary students, expect the best from Japans best school. A mistake such as this won't due." Tenya exclaimed before turning his attention to Athena. "Additionally you in the straw hat with no doubt unkept hair." He stated, pointing directly at Kami.
"Hmm?" Kami inquired. "What do you want man?"
"You've been acting immature this entire time, stop that. If you can't bother to take this seriously, then you don't deserve to call yourself a hero, so leave." Iida stated. "The rest of us are here, because we belong."
"An' with an attitude like that, you're more suited for an office job, then a hero costume. What gives you the right to tell me I'm not suited here huh? You're not some big shot who has power over others, you're a student just like me. Do you even know what the true mark of a hero is? If not then think about it, I'm sure it'll come to you before the end of the year." He said, causing the other examinees to laugh a bit.
Iida was silent, hearing that, he was about to rebuttal Kami's remark, before Present Mic stepped in.
"Alright that's enough. The fourth villain is just an obstacle, worth zero points." The Voice Hero said. "It's not that it can't be beaten, but there's just no point as doing so, won't raise your score by any considerable margin, or any margin at all. That's all I got for you today. I'll sign off with a little present, a sample of our school motto. As general Napoleon Bonaparte once laid down, a true hero is one who overcomes life's misfortunes. Mhmm, not that's a tasty soundbite. You ready to, Go Beyond? Let's hear a, Plus Ultra. Good luck. Hope you practiced hitting more than just books."
~Mock City Ground Beta~
"We're finally here." Kami cheered with a smile, jumping off the bus. "This is where we're going to be taking our first steps at being heroes, and my first step on the path to becoming, King of the Heroes."
Kami stood there, wearing a red vest, showing off his muscular torso and arms, with blue shorts, and his signature straw hat on his head.
"I'm a bit nervous and excited at the same time." Midoriya stated.
Kami was looking around, trying to determine how tough the competition would be, before noticing a girl, slightly shorter than Midoriya by a few centimeters, with brown hair, and a bit of a round face, wearing a tracksuit, trying to calm in her nerves.
"Hey, she looks nervous. I'm gonna go and cheer her up." Kami smiled, moving to go to the girl. As he went to talk to her, he was stopped by a hand grabbing his shoulder, and stretched it out a bit before it stopped. He looked back and gave an annoyed look when he saw who was stopping him. 'Great, not this clown.'
"She looks like she's trying to concentrate. What are you going to do, try and sabotage her chances of getting in?" Iida questioned.
"What's your damage man?" Kami questioned, pulling his shoulder away. "There's nothing in the rules that says I can't encourage a fellow attendee before the exams start."
"My, damage, as you put it, is you." Iida stated. "I barely know you, but from what I've seen, you treat everything as a joke, and you don't even take things seriously. Are these exams nothing more then to kill your own boredom to you?"
"No, I'm here because I'm gonna be King of the Heroes." Kami stated. "An' you're not gonna stop me, from achieving my dream."
"King of the Heroes, is that a joke?" Iida asked.
"No, a joke is what your face is." Kami said. "Trust me, you'd look hilarious with a big red nose and neon blue hair."
"Tell you what then." Iida said. "If you manage to get into U.A, I'll go to a professional, and get a big red nose, and neon blue hair."
"You're on." Kami smirked, before he threw his arms forward, stretching them to the top of the doors, just as they began to open. "Now Gum-Gum: ROCKET!" He shouted, sending himself flying over the doors, and to the battle field on the other side.
"He's got the right idea ladies and gents. There's no countdowns in real battles, get going." Present Mic shouted from the examination tower as the doors continued to open.
As the examinees were forcing their way through, Kami was already on to destroying his third faux villain, 4-3pointers and a 2pointer, earning himself 14 points. Before he went rushing through the streets, creating a ruckus to try and gain the attention of as many robots as possible.
(Cue Music… I'm Dangerous: Everlove)
"That makes 30 points." Kami stated, destroying several more robots, with his attacks.
Using his immense stamina, Kami ran through the mock city, and used one of his attacks to destroy five more three pointers. Every now and then, Kami threw his arms out, and wrapped them around cornered students, saving them from robots, before they could be hurt, keeping them safe from harm.
Pulling his arms back, Kami threw his fist forward, fast and hard.
"Gum-Gum: GATLING!" Kami cried out, destroying two robots at the same time, while the two examinees behind him looked at the rubber boy in awe. "All right, from all the robots I've destroyed… I'd have to say my score is pretty high." Kami exclaimed, his arms snapping back into place. "I've actually lost count."
~U.A Faculty Examination Room~
"Gotta say All Might, that son of yours, is certainly showing his skills, and true colors." Aizawa stated.
"He certainly a wild card that's for sure. It still terrifies me that All-for-One, had some sort of interest in him." All Might said. "What were his plans with Kami, and why involve him in them, even after he found out his Quirk didn't work on Kami."
"You're over thinking things All Might." Midnight said.
"Maybe, or maybe I'm not seeing the bigger picture here." All Might stated. "An' I'm still looking for that mystery savior who rescued him from the Suicide Forest all those years ago."
"Maybe he's watching the exams, seeing how the boy he saved, has blossomed into a cut and dry hero." Snipe said. "They're doing quite well in the exams."
"Still, it's quite clear the examinees have no idea how many villains are present, or their current locations." Principal Nezu stated. "They have limited time, must cover a vast area, and hunt down every last target. Some use information gathering abilities to plan out strategies, while others rely on speed to pull ahead of their peers. Of course, remaining calm under pressure, can be a huge advantage, as can pure power and combat ability. The most successful students use a combination of all these tactics, they're the ones who rack up the highest scores."
"I'd say this year's group looks promising." Midnight smiled.
"Well there's still plenty of time before it's over. The real test is yet to come." Snipe stated pressing a button. "Let's see how they react."
~Mock City Ground Beta~
"With that one down, that makes ninety…" Kami's count was interrupted as the ground began to rumble. "What the hell is going on?" He questioned, before turning as he saw a giant shadow loomed over the mock city, finding it belonged to a giant robot that stood as taller than Mount Lady. "What the hell kind of budget does this school have?"
Stretching his arms out, Kami pulled himself back, just as some debri fell away, landing on the ground as he rolled back like a bowling ball, before pushing off the ground with his hands, arching through the air, and landing on his feet.
"This is the zero pointer? What the hell?" Kami questioned. "As much fun as this thing looks to fight, I gotta focus my attention on getting as many students out of here to safety." Just as he was about to turn and run, he heard the sound of someone crying out in pain.
"Aaah…"
The scream of a familiar brunet drew Kami's attention in the direction it came from. His eyes widened in horror when he saw it was the familiar brunet from earlier, who screamed; she was trapped under several large pieces of debri. Before he could even react, he felt someone rush past him, and his eyes and senses spotted Midoriya running forward, before he charged up One-for-All. Seeing his friend acting, Kami steeled himself, and stretching his arms up and out, he grabbed onto the ledge of a building, and pulled back hard, stretching his arms out to their limits.
"Midoriya…" Kami called out, a smile on his face, as the green haired boy turned back to look at him. "Get the girl, I'll handle the robot."
"Right." Midoriya said, seeing what Kami's plan was.
"Gum-Gum…" He began before he jumped off the ground, and was flung right into the air. "Rocket!" Once he was high enough in the air, Kami turned around and started coming back down, before biting down on his thumb. "Third Gear…" He said, before he began blowing into it, his fist and arm growing in monumental size. "Bone Balloon!"
From down bellow, Midoriya and the brunet were making their way, to clear the area, before one of the students screamed, and pointed upwards, with a shadow overcoming the entire area. The other students looked up, and gasped when they saw the source of the shadow, was a giant fist that was coming down towards them, or more accurately, the giant robot.
"Gum-Gum…" Kami cried out, showing Midoriya it was him.
"Kami?" Midoriya gasped.
"Giant Pistol!" Kami shouted, slamming his fist into the giant robot, crushing it downward towards the street of the fake city.
The impact caused the ground to rumble, as a shockwave was released through the air, knocking several students back. When the shockwave had died down however, the giant fist began to shrank, and the sound of something like air leaking out of a balloon echoed through the air, before Kami fell from the sky, his body having shrunk significantly to that of a childs.
"I was not… expecting that to work…" Kami huffed.
"Kami, is that you?" Midoriya asked, standing over him.
"Hey Midoriya."
"What's going on with your body?"
"What do you mean?"
"You're the size of a toddler now." Midoriya said.
"Must be a side effect of Third Gear." Kami huffed, sitting up.
"Third Gear?" Midoriya asked. "You skipped Second?"
"Hey, watch out!" The brunet cried out.
Midoriya and Kami looked to her, before they looked up and saw the crushed giant robot falling towards them.
Without even thinking, Midoriya coursed One-for-All, through his body and jumped at the falling remains of the robot, creating gusts of wind that sent Kami rolling back.
"SMASH!" Midoriya shouted, slamming his fist into the giant robots crushed body, sending it back in the opposite direction.
"Go Midoriya." Kami cheered, before his face fell into a frown. "He's not slowing down. He didn't think this part through all the way."
(End Song…)
Before Kami could even think to do anything, the brunet Midoriya had helped earlier, flew up into the air from the ground, on a piece of robot, before slapping Midoriya across the face, and suddenly the green haired boy, was floating off the ground. A second after that, the brunet released her control on gravity, making herself and Midoriya land on the ground, before she vomited glitter and rainbows.
"Well, that's one way to do things." Kami said, before falling asleep, with a snot bubble forming from his nose.
While Kami was sleeping off the effects of Third Gear, with Present Mic declaring time up for the practical exams, Iida just stood stunned that the examinee he'd accused of being childish and treating the exams as nothing but a joke, had actually risked his own life to protect the others taking this exam. But that begged the question, was there another aspect of the exam he didn't know of?
~Later~
"Oh, I'm so happy you managed to survive the exams darling." Vi said, hugging Kami's arm, while sitting at a table at the arcade. "I was so worried when I learned what the Zero Pointer robot was."
"I'm fine Vi." Kami said, putting down his drink. "I'm made of rubber, remember?"
"Still, you turned into a physical child after that Third Gear thing." Midoriya said.
"An unexpected after effect." Kami said. "That was the first time I used Third Gear. I'm still trying to perfect Second Gear."
"So you came up with that at a moments notice without knowing if it would work or not?" Midoriya asked.
"That's so reckless Darling." Vi stated.
"That's just how I do things. It all turned out okay." Kami said with a smile.
"Seriously Darling, I'm starting to worry about your mental state." Vi said. "But, if you weren't the way you are, I wouldn't have fallen for you, and have wanted to be your wife."
"Speaking of… I'm a little lost here." Midoriya said. "How are you engaged to be married already?"
"I did promise you I'd explain after the exams." Kami sighed.
"Aren't you gonna properly introduce us first Darling?" Vi asked.
"Right, skipped proper introductions because we were running late." Kami said. "Vi, this is my friend, Izuku Midoriya. He's also a personal student of my dads."
"She knows about your relationship with All Might?" Midoriya asked.
"She does." Kami said. "Midoriya, this is Vivi D. Rose, Vi for short."
"Just call me Vi. It's so nice to meet you." She smiled.
"Likewise." Midoriya said. "So, what happened that got the two of you engaged?"
"Well… long story short, it was an arranged marriage my dad was kinda strong armed into agreeing too." Kami stated. "The villain who kidnapped me some years ago, had her as well, but I fought back and broke us out of there, while my escape alerted All Might to our location, and the rest is pretty much history."
"My father was so happy to have me back, and when he rescued me, I saw something crazy during the escape, it was just a trick of light with my imagination playing me for a fool, but I fell in love, and my parents arranged for us to marry after we graduated high school." Vi smiled.
"My dad couldn't say no, as they're kinda David Shields boss, and they threatened to make his life hard, as well as his daughters if he didn't agree." Kami sighed.
"I reprimanded them for their tactics, but I've managed to live in Japan with my Uncle since then." Vi said.
"I see, so that's how you're engaged already." Midoriya said. "So if you don't mind me asking, what's your Quirk Vi?"
"My Quirk, I guess you could say I technically have two Quirks." Vi said.
"That's impressive, like a Chimera Quirk?" Midoriya asked.
"Yeah. The first part of my Quirk, allows me to put anyone who hears my singing voice, into a deep sleep and a world of my own making, only I can release them from, if I manage to stay awake myself. If I fall asleep, my hold on them is released. I can also control those under my spell, like they're my puppets." Vi stated.
"So you put yourself to sleep?"
"Yeah, but the second part of my Quirk, allows me to stay awake when I sing. I sort of get an electric shock jolting through my system when I sing, keeping me awake." Vi explained.
"Incredible." Midoriya smiled. "Your Quirk sounds like it could be really helpful in taking down bad guys, while keeping property damage and casualties to a minimum."
"I guess, but I've never really been one for fighting. I'd prefer making the tools heroes need to fight with." Vi said. "Strangely enough though, anything I make for my Darling, doesn't attune or adapt to his Quirk, even if I use his hair in the fabrics. I'm needing a blood sample to see what that's all about."
"That is kinda weird." Midoriya said. "But, you are aware Kami isn't related to All Might by blood, right?"
"Oh I'm well aware." Vi smiled. "I don't care though, because even if they don't share blood, they share the same heroic heart."
"I guess that means you just care about who he is, as a person, and not his lineage." Midoriya smiled, before someones watch started beeping.
"Crap, I forgot I've gotta meet up with someone in an hour." Kami groaned. "I'll see you both later, I need to get going."
"Already?" Vi asked.
"Yeah sorry. I'm gonna be training with Gang Orca to get over the weakness my Quirk causes." Kami stated, before heading out. "I'll be back in time for dinner Vi."
"Be safe." Vi said.
There was a moment of silence, before Vi turned back around, and planted her face on her arms on the table.
"Is something the matter?" Midoriya asked.
"You could say that." Vi said.
"Wanna talk about it?"
"Well… I have the same weakness as Kami." Vi said, blushing a bit.
"Wait, by weakness you don't mean…"
"Yeah." Vi sighed. "I lose all my strength if I even touch sea water."
"Do you think your Quirks might be connected somehow?" Midoriya asked. "Maybe there's something that could explain it."
"Well… Kami once told me that his Quirk didn't unlock until he had survived the Suicide Forest." Vi said.
"He told me that as well."
"But did he tell you that he found some graves and a really nasty tasting fruit that he ate?" Vi asked.
"No, he didn't tell me that." Midoriya said.
"He barely remembers what the fruit looked like, but he said it was purple, had a green stem on it, and had a swirly design, like multiple S's stacked around each other." Vi said. "It might be crazy, but before I learned I could sing, my Quirk was only the electric sparks that would shock me."
"When did you find out you could use your singing to affect people?" Midoriya asked.
"It was a little while before Kami and I were rescued, after I ate this weird fruit. It had four different colored stripes going around the middle, with a stem that looked like it was shaped after a music note." Vi said. "An' it had heart swirled designs on its surface as well."
"A fruit?" Midoriya asked. "So… you didn't know you could put people in a dream world until after you ate this fruit, and Kami didn't awaken his Quirk until after he ate the fruit he ate."
"So… is there a connection somehow?" Vi asked.
"Most likely there is. I don't think that singing power you have is a Quirk, and I'm starting to think Kami's rubber body isn't a Quirk either." Midoriya stated. "I think we may be looking at another type of power, all together."
~A/N~
1: It's Brook, not Binks. Bink's Brew is just the name of one of the best songs, in anime history.
2: Brook will be making another appearance, but not until I get somewhere around Season2-3 for MHA.
3: The 3Sword Style, is gonna be given to someone else, who I think would use it better.
