B&B OF LOVE AND FUN-26

Hello all. Thank you for reading and reviewing the last chapter. It's a real pleasure to write for people, who are reacting so wonderfully to the story. In today's chapter, we will continue the happy journey to Beryl's wedding, but before Beryl Patmore will become Beryl Mason, there will be even more fun in our B&B. Hope you will like it ;-)

Those last three weeks, before Beryl's wedding were really hectic. Apart from all the other B&B duties, that they all had to perform, as usual, there were preparations for the wedding and the party. Elsie promised to help Beryl and she fully kept that promise. She was involved in all the preparations, easing out Beryl's stress.

Charles took over a lot of things in the B&B, wanting to show, that he was a great friend too and Katie was working twice as hard. At the end of each day, when they were sitting to the dinner together, they all looked like a group of exhausted zombies, who didn't have the energy to talk with each other.

Beryl was really stressed with all this and Elsie was doing all she could, to lift her spirit. Charles was helping in this too, constantly telling Beryl, how much he recommends the institution of marriage and how she shouldn't really be so stressed about a wedding, which was just one day, opening her a way to a happy future.

Katie was constantly reminding her aunt, that she has been waiting for her happy ending for a long time and she fully deserved it. Bill was visiting the B&B everyday, lifting her spirit and getting involved in everything that needed to be done, to make their wedding day the most perfect one. With the mutual effort from the closest people, Beryl finally started to relax a bit and believe, that it's not going to be that bad after all.

They all decided to close the B&B for few days, to make it easy for them. It would not be possible, to have guests and participate in the wedding. It was also decided, that Bill will move his things to the B&B one day before the wedding, so when they will come back from their honeymoon, they would be ready to start their life together.

They already had their train tickets booked and they were going to their honeymoon, straight from the wedding reception.

When almost everything was ready, they all decided, that it would be a good idea to relax a bit, after weeks of hard work and preparation for a happy day. Two days before the wedding, Katie joined Andy and Daisy, who were going to Ripon for some jazz band concert and they cordially invited her to go with them. Because they were going back late, Beryl and Elsie let Katie spend the night in the farm, instead of walking alone in the dark to the B&B.

Elsie decided, to make dinner for the four of them. This time she was the one who did the cooking, understanding, that it was not something that should be on Beryl's shoulders. The point was to let her relax a bit, but in spite of that, she was still watching Elsie from time to time, making sure, that the dishes will not be a disaster.

Elsie was particularly proud of herself, after preparing three course dinner. Charles took care of wine, he prepared few bottles. When they were all full, after a delicious meal, the drinking started and before they noticed, the atmosphere was getting more frivolous with each minute... It showed how much all of them needed relaxation.

"I'm telling you, once the vicar will pronounce you husband and wife, all the tension will be gone and from that moment everything will be easier..."-Charles decided to share his own wedding experience..

"I hope so, I mean I hope that I will make it to this moment, I may faint from emotions.."-Beryl was not at all convinced, about the tension going away...

"You will not my love...I will make sure to hold you close..."-Bill smiled to Beryl and suddenly Charles and Elsie felt uneasy, like a third wheel...

"Beryl, you will do fine...You need to have strength for the reception...We are going to have a one, big hooley"-Elsie winked to Beryl...

"Right...Like the one that we had on your wedding...I will never forget the sight of dancing Charles... Who would have thought, that you were such a talented dancer?"-Beryl smiled widely...

"Well, all I can say is, that my husband has a lot of hidden talents...Of which I wasn't aware of for the thirty years of working with him..."

Elsie smiled wickedly to Charles and he finally let himself to be a little casual..

"What can I say? I'm a man of mystery, if ever there was one..."

They all laughed...Wine was disappearing quickly and the atmosphere was exceptionally loose...

"Well, this is all ahead of us...We will discover all our hidden talents, won't we dear?"-Bill looked at Beryl with seductive eyes...

"Mr Mason, I just want to say one thing-that Beryl is our dear friend and we- me and Elsie, both hope, that you will take good care of her, otherwise we will give you hell..."

"I would expect no less from you Mr Carson..."

"Wait a moment..."-Elsie protested suddenly..."Why are we still playing all this silly Mr and Mrs? Soon we will be living together, under one roof, we should all call each other first names, don't you think?"

They all looked at each other, being agreeable, that it's the best possible idea...

"I'm all for it..."-Bill was happy to become a part of the team..."I would just like to say, that I'm a very happy man, not only because I will marry the woman of my dreams, but also, because I will be a part of this wonderful team that you are..."

"Hear, hear Bill...I say we drink to that!"-Elsie was in a frolicking mood today...

"Els...I don't want to be a mood killer here, but maybe it's enough for one night?"-Charles saw, that Elsie's appetite for drinks was a big one today...

"Charlie, don't be grumpy, we have reasons to celebrate...Our friends are getting married...One more drink for everyone!"

Bill, Charles and Beryl raised their glasses, to join Elsie's toast...

"One more and I will be coming home...We need to have strength for tomorrow, to move all my stuff here...I'm grateful for your help.."-Bill said

"No problem Bill, we will make the move in no time..."-Charles reassured Bill...

"But only your stuff Bill, remember...You are not yet allowed to spend the night in the B&B. Not after a wedding young man...There will be no sneaking around before the wedding..."Elsie winked at the happy couple...

"Yes Elsie, nothing like all the wild things, that were going on before your wedding, in the pantry and in your sitting room..."-Beryl said, parroting Elsie's style...

"Beryl...I ask you! There were no wild things going on..."

"Yeah Elsie, right...You can fool anyone, but not your old friend Beryl...She knows everything..."

Elsie pretended to be embarrassed and Charles was laughing quietly...

"Enough talking, I will bring the gramophone. We can rehearse the wedding hooley..."

Very soon, they all moved into a living room, where Elsie led "The hooley", until the moment, when all the room started to going round and round and she lost contact with reality...

The next morning...

Elsie woke up, feeling like her head was about to explode in a moment...She could barely open her eyes, the light seems to be lighter than usual, every noise was louder than ever before and she felt unbearable dryness in her mouth...

When she finally opened her eyes, she saw a loving face of her husband, giving her a glass of water...

She drank it willingly, as she felt, that she wouldn't be able to say a word, without drinking the water..

"Charlie, what time it is?"

"Almost eleven my love..."

"El...Eleven? Oh My God, I need to get up and help Beryl, there are so many things to do..."-Elsie tried to get up, but the sudden dizziness in her head, put her back to the pillows...

"Slowly sweetheart...You need to take it easy...After all the alcohol that you've drank last night..."

"Was it really that much?"

"Let me answer with a question to a question...Do you remember anything from last night?"

"Well, we were eating and drinking and laughing and that's all I remember..."

"My point exactly...I will tell you the rest then...After you stared the big hooley..."

"I started the hooley?"

"Yes love...Very similar to the one that we had during our wedding reception..Then, in one moment, you could barely stand on your feet, so Bill said goodbye, Beryl went to sleep and I walked you to our room.."

"And I fell asleep?"

"I was sure that you will immediately, but when I came back from the bathroom, to our bed, you were... How to put it best? In a rather amorous mood, I would say..."

"You mean we? Last night?"

"Yes Elsie...You were incredible...The love you gave me, was beyond words..."

"But I don't remember anything..."

"The important thing is, that I remember...I will probably never forget that night..."

"I feel embarrassed now, really..."

"You shouldn't be...I will say more Elsie...I think, that I will let you get drunk more often from now on..."

"Charles Carson! You are terrible!"

"You didn't seem to think so last night darling...Oh, I remember how you..."

Charles couldn't finish the sentence, as Elsie closed his mouth with a kiss...He pinned her to the bed and caressed her lips, in a way that left no doubt, about how much he loved last night's activities and how he would be willing to continue it...But to his disappointment, Elsie withdrew...

"Oh Charlie...I would want that very much, but I really need to help Beryl...She will be a bundle of nerves and Bill is coming to move his things...They need us today..."

"I guess they do...But promise me, that we will go back to that soon..."

"Solemnly promise...You can then tell me, what exactly happened last night..."

"Are you sure that you are ready to hear this sweetheart?"

"To quote you Mr Carson- I have never been so sure of anything..."

Next day...

Elsie and Charles were standing in the church, among other guests, squeezing their hands lovingly, just like they did during Lady Mary's second wedding...They were both very touched, watching their friend getting married, to the man that she loved..

In spite of Beryl's pessimistic ideas, the ceremony was perfect and without the slightest obstacles on the way...

Surrounded by her family and friends, Beryl was calmly repeating vicar's words, promising to love and cherish her future husband and when the vicar pronounced them husband and wife and they turned to left the church, they both had that soppy, but lovely smiles on their faces...

That's all for today's chapter...Beryl is happily married to Mr Mason and everything is just as it should be...When I was writing the happy dinner scene, I had visions of those happy dances in the servants hall, from season six. Elsie certainly had the hooley of her life ;-) As always, thank you for reading and I hope, that this chapter brought smiles to your faces. Have a fantastic week!
