Chapter 2

For the Future

Flashback

In the Boiling Isles, the Titan's Skull is coming apart. The Collector has been freed from his prison and is now gonna start a game called the "Owl House". The Collector made a deal with King the Titan that if the Collector stopped Belos' Draining Spell, then they could play this game.

When the Collector saw King about to leave with Luz and her friends, he pulled King towards him. Luz wasn't gonna give up though. She held onto King tightly.

"King, you promised you'd play with me!" the Collector shouted. "You pinky swore!"

The Collector tightened his telepathic grip on King. Luz still wasn't giving up. "We gotta stick together. We gotta stick together."

"I'm sorry, not this time," King replied sadly. "Luz, I'm so happy I had you as a big sister. Weh!"

King's sonic blast sent Luz, Amity, Willow, Gus, and Hunter flying through the portal to the Human Realm.

"No, King!" Luz called out as she ran for the portal.

It was too late though. The portal powered down, closed, and exploded.

"Goodbye," King cried as he was pulled toward the Collector.

"I'M FREE! I'M FREE!" the Collector cheered. "I NEVER FELT THIS GOOD IN FOREVER! IT'S LIKE THE WHOLE WORLD IS SINGING!"

Down below, everyone is in a panic seeing the Collector in the sky and all the stars that he's just spawning down out of nowhere.

"I wouldn't call that singing," said King.

The Collector didn't pay attention to that and turned to King. "So, tell me about your game, 'the Owl House'. You promised you'd teach me if I stopped the Draining Spell."

"It's like playing pretend," King explained. "People get roles and go on adventures, but this is crazy. We can't play if you're causing a panic."

Meanwhile, Eda was holding her unconscious NB-friend, Raine Whispers before they woke up along with everyone else in the area. They were all unconscious thanks to the Draining Spell, but with the spell stopped, they're all slowly waking up.

Eda and her sister, Lilith, looked up to see King floating in the air with the Collector. Hooty, in his porta-hooty thing, got on Lilith's back and started spinning like a propeller, lifting them both off the ground. Eda morphed into Harpy Mode and flew after them.

"King," Lilith called out, getting his and the Collector's attention. "What are you doing up there?"

"What's happening?" Eda added.

That's when Eda felt excruciating pain. The Owl Beast was starting to take control of her. She went into her hair for some elixir but her bottle was empty. Lilith saw this and quickly gave her elixir to Eda before turning back to the Collector.

"I don't know who you are," she told him. "But stay away from my nephew."

Lilith flew towards the Collector while he shouted back, "That's my best friend you're talking to! Hands off!"

The Collector summoned a small crescent moon and fired it at Lilith. Hooty saw this and wrapped himself around Lilith to protect her. He's hit and is transformed into a puppet.

Lilith was about to fall and the Collector was about to fire another crescent at Lilith, but Eda, having just drank the elixir, grabbed Lilith and flew back to the ground, out of the Collector's sight.

The Collector decided that he'll go find them later, and makes the now puppified Hooty disappear.

"You can't hurt people, either," King scolded the Collector.

"But he's not hurt," the Collector replied, pointing over to the castle he's building. "He's safe and sound in our new house. Now, what part do I get to play?"

Eda and Lilith flew back down to the ground. Eda went back to normal as she and Lilith met up with the other members of the Covens Against the Throne rebellion, Raine, Darius, Eberwolf, Steve, Katya, Amber, and Derwin, along with the other Coven Heads.

"We gotta get out of here," Raine told everyone. "We need to find a way to stop the Collector."

"I'm not going with you," said Adrian Graye.

All the coven heads except Darius and Eberwolf nodded in agreement.

"Alright then, it's your choice," said Raine. "Good luck trying to talk to the god."

With that, the CATs left the head and were about to gather as many people as they could. That's when this blue smoke clouded over them. When the smoke cleared, these blue star robot looking things showed up and started firing crescent moons at everyone, turning them into puppets. Steve, Katya, Amber, and Derwin were among the people who were captured.

The rest of the CATs, however, weren't going down without a fight. Eda morphed back into Harpy Mode, Lilith summoned her Palisman, Raine summoned their violin, Darius morphed into Abomination Mode, and Eberwolf put on his scary face.

Eda flew towards one of the stars and slashed it with her claw, bringing it down.

Lilith threw a plant glyph and tapped her staff on the ground, activating the glyph and tying up some stars.

Raine played a melody that put more stars to sleep.

Darius morphed his hand to a scythe and sliced a bunch of stars in half.

Eberwolf then launched off of Darius's shoulder and pounced on the last star, destroying it.

Once they were done fighting the stars, they saw that they were the only ones left in the area, implying everyone else had been captured.

The CATs carry on, planning to find someone that wasn't at the Day of Unity and can help them fight back against the Collector.

Pause Flashback

Luz, Amity, Willow, Gus, Hunter, and Camila are now in the Demon Realm. The teens are happy to be back after so long, while Camila is trying to adjust to the new, unfamiliar environment.

"Wow, you kids were holding back in the Human Realm, huh," she remarked.

"Maybe a little," Amity admitted before seeing some abomination goo on the ground and lifting it up. She put it in a small container. "Hello, you gorgeous slime."

Luz sees how happy Amity looks. She then frowns, knowing the decision she's making. She thought to herself, Maybe I shouldn't leave this place forever.

"Mija, you never told me how pretty this place was," Camila told Luz. "The trees, the skies, qué belleza…"

That's when she sees something in front of everyone. They look and see this childish environment with blue stars floating around.

The stars all turned and saw the sextet. The teens summoned their palismen while Camila brought out her bat.

The stars charged towards the sextet and fired small crescent moons. The six dodged and Luz threw an ice glyph. She then tapped her staff on the floor, causing the glyph to activate and impale the star.

Amity used her abomination goo to make fists that she used to punch a couple of stars so hard that they came down.

Willow summoned some plants and pulled more of them underground.

Gus casted illusions of himself to confuse and disorient the rest of the stars so Hunter can dash and knock them down with Flapjack.

One recovered and was about to attack Camila. She tried to wack it with her bat but it only disoriented it for a second. Luz saw this and tossed Camila a plant glyph. She attached it to her bat and hit the star once more. The glyph activated and tied up the star, bringing it down.

The sextet stop and catch their breaths, looking around for more of the stars, just to see there are none in the area.

"Those things must belong to the Collector," Luz assumed. "They're purpose must be to collect people for the 'Owl House' game."

"Does that monster happen to be part of the game?" asked Camila, pointing at the Titan's Skull.

"The skull is normal," Amity replied. "Everything else… isn't."

"What's that on top of the skull?" asked Willow, pointing at the giant castle on top.

"That's likely where the Collector is keeping King, and many others," Luz replied. "Whether it is or isn't that, we might get some answers in Bonesborough."

While Amity, Willow, Gus, and Hunter headed for Bonesborough, Luz and Camila stayed behind.

"Bones, skulls, I can really see this place helping with your taxidermy hobby," said Camila.

"Mom, you're pretending to like this place, aren't you?" asked Luz.

"No," Camila replied. "I love that you've been living on a giant… carcass."

"It's sweet of you," said Luz. "But I haven't completely changed my mind. Once all of this is over, I might stay in the Human Realm, permanently. It might be for the best."

Luz walked on while Camila stood with concern for her daughter. She sighs, then follows Luz.

The sextet continued on, until they found a familiar house. The house had white walls and a blue roof. There was a big window in the shape of an eye. There was graffiti on the walls that said phrases like "Kiss my grASS", "bad word", and "There is no Titan".

"What is this place?" asked Camila.

Luz instantly knew the answer. She opened the front door. "Welcome to the Owl House."

The sextet walked inside. The interior was empty and damaged, a lot more than it was the last time Luz was here. Everyone split up. Luz and Amity went upstairs, Hunter went back outside, and everyone else stayed in the Living Room.

Hunter paced the area, standing guard in case more of those star things show up. As he paced, he heard rattling in the bushes. He turned around and saw something that looked like Belos. He quickly brought out Flapjack. He fired a blast from Flapjack at Belos, but he disappeared. Hunter told Flapjack to nestle down, then he looked at his hands.

What's happening to me? he thought to himself.

In the Living Room, Camila looked around for food, and found a dead rat in the cupboard. She was grossed out by this.

"Don't worry," Willow assured. "The food isn't that spoiled."

Camila was even more grossed out knowing that this is food. She brushed it off, however, as she had something more important to talk about. "I need advice."

"You need to…" Gus was about to say, thinking Camila was still talking about the food.

"No," Camila interrupted. "I mean advice about Luz. She's considering… making a very bad decision for herself, like she's trying to punish herself for something that wasn't her fault."

"So she still plans to stay in the Human Realm?" asked Willow, sadly.

"She says she's not sure," Camila replied. "It worries me, knowing she's even thinking about doing something like this to herself."

"That... reminds me of when I failed my first school project," said Gus. "I thought I deserved to be grounded so... I ran off to live in a cave in the most DRAMATIC way possible! Of course, reliable ol' Willow finds me and says..."

"It's okay to fail," Willow continued the story. "Look at me. I fail all the time."

"Maybe Luz is going through something like that," said Gus. "My dad didn't care if I failed that project, but... I didn't want to fail him. And... Oh man, I- I hope he's okay."

That's when they hear Hunter shouting. Willow and Gus leave to check on him, but Camila saw how Willow was speaking, it was like she was trying to hold back tears. She grabbed Willow's hand. "I know something's bothering you. It's okay to be scared too. It's not good if you try to hold it all in."

"I'm fine," Willow assured. "And I'm sure you will be too. You and Luz are a lot alike."

Willow then walked off.

Meanwhile, Amity was roaming the hallways until she saw a picture on the floor. The picture showed Luz, Eda, and King wearing matching sweaters. Afterwards, she saw the door to Eda's room open. She headed inside and saw Luz showing Stringbean around.

"And this is Eda's room," she said. "Eda is an awesome mentor, Stringbean. I know you're gonna love her."

Luz then frowned, worried about Eda.

Amity came in. "Showing Stringbean around?"

Luz put on a weak smile. "Yeah. It looks like she's loving the place."

Luz then frowned again. Amity noticed this and got concerned. "Are you seriously still thinking about leaving this place forever?"

"A little," Luz replied. "I've reconsidered leaving this place forever, but I still feel like all of this is my fault. I'm just not sure. I want to be a witch, and help my friends, but doing one always seems to mess up the other."

"No it doesn't," Amity assured before kissing her girlfriend on the forehead. "That's not the only reason why you're here, is it?"

Amity showed Luz the picture she found in the hallway. Luz looked at the picture and said, "I'm sure about one thing, though. We will find Eda and King, whatever it takes."

"It's Eda and King!" Hunter shouted from outside.

Everyone headed outside and they saw a shooting star pass by and head for Bonesborough.

"I'm sure I saw them on that star," Hunter explained.

The teens summoned their Palismen to follow the star.

"Don't worry, I'll be safe," Luz assured her mom.

Camila gulped. While she had flown before when the group went to and from Hawkins, Camila flew with someone with experience, Luz just got her Palisman a day ago, so this makes her nervous.

The gang flew for Bonesborough. Luz did have trouble, and sometimes zigzagged, but overall, she was able to control her Palisman just fine. Still, Luz did not enjoy the flight. Neither did Camila. The flight was super scary for both of them, as they both worried that they could fall off.

Once the gang landed, Camila was relieved. "I still think those things need seatbelts, at least for beginners."

"My thoughts exactly," Luz agreed.

The two leaned on a lamppost. That's when they saw this weird creature with a bunch of eyes. This scared both of them, especially Luz, because despite living on the Boiling Isles for months, she has no recollection of seeing this thing. Luz held Stringbean and Camila brought out her bat, attaching a fire glyph to it. The others weren't shocked by it, though, as if this thing is normal. Luz and Camila blushed in enbarrassment and bowed to the creature saying in unison, "Hello to you sir."

Hunter looked around until he saw something. "Something's coming."

Everyone started guessing.

"Witches?"

"Demons?"

"No," Hunter replied. "It's… sparkles?"

That's when this blue smoke flooded the area, so the sextet ran for an alleyway. When they opened their eyes, the environment changed. It was a lot more childish. There were puppets of citizens. Willow recognized one of them as one of her dads, Gilbert. That's when the puppets started running around. Willow ran to her dad, but Hunter pulled her away, not wanting her to get hurt. That's when they saw what looked like Eda in her Owl Beast form appeared. The beast was about to attack Gilbert when suddenly…

A net suddenly trapped the beast. A voice said, "Not so fast, beast."

King and the Collector flew into the street on a star.

"Fear not, citizens of Bonesborough," said the Collector. "I'm here to stop this mad beast's rampage."

"I believe in you, Collector," King cheered.

"Thanks, best friend," the Collector thanked.

The beast tried to resist the net.

"Don't bother, beast," said the Collector. "You can't run rampant anymore. It's over. Light glyph go."

The Collector formed a blue ball of light and reverted Eda back to normal, except…

It's not Eda. It's the former Coven Head Terra Snapdragon pretending to be Eda.

"Hooray," she cheered sarcastically. "I'm back to normal. Who's got a pint of apple blood? Hoot, hoot!"

The sextet was disgusted by Terra's act.

The Collector wasn't happy about it either. "Terra, for the last time, Eda doesn't sound like that! She has this cool aunt vibe where she is all coldhearted but actually cares a lot."

"You're a real thorn on my side," said Terra. "I've had it with you and your stupid dog. Whatever, I just need to play Eda the Owl Lady and I don't get turned into one of those things, right? Well, let's just continue. Ooh, I love musicians."

By then, the Collector wasn't having it. "You're not playing very nice right now."

The Collector launched one of his crescents and turned Terra into a puppet, before walking back to the star.

"Collector, this needs to stop," said King. "You're hurting these people."

"I'm just playing pretend," the Collector defended.

"Even playing pretend has consequences," King warned. "A certain old witch taught me that."

"You mean Eda right?" asked the Collector. "That's what we need. A cool, know-it-all mentor. No substitutes. Once my spies find her, if I ask real nicely, I won't have to turn her into a puppet."

"Oh, you'll have to be nicer than nice to get her to even consider it," King replied. "But if we do find her, I'll talk to her."

"You promise?" asked the Collector.

"You can trust me," King replied. "Pinky swear."

The duo shake pinkies before getting on the star and flying for the castle. Luz ran after them, but by then, the star was too far away.

Camila was still trying to process everything. "So the eyeballs on the ground are normal, but the space cherub is the danger?"

"We gotta get to that castle," said Hunter. "That place has to be where the Collector is keeping everyone."

"If that's the case, that's where we gotta go," said Luz.

"You won't make it," said a voice.

The sextet turned to the source of the voice. They saw three figures. The first was a non-binary with a violin, with gray hair, dark skin, and glasses. They wore a red outfit. The second was a man with darker skin, and purple hair and clothes. The third was someone that looked like a small lion. The teens recognized them as coven heads Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf.

"Wait, Luz, guys?" asked Raine.

"Raine?" asked Luz, a smile forming. Luz approached and hugged her mentor's lover. "Is Eda okay?"

"She's fine," Raine replied. "Most of us managed to escape capture."

Hunter approached Darius and hugged him. "I'm so glad to see you again."

"As much as Darius tried to fight it, he shed a small tear. "It's nice to see you too." That's when Darius noticed Hunter's shirt. "Did you sew that?"

"I did," Hunter replied. "These creatures are from the Human Realm. They're called wolves. They're so cool."

That's when they heard someone clear their throat. It was Raine. "How about you two get caught up later? We gotta get back to Hexside."

As everyone started walking, Luz asked, "Can you explain what happened here while we were gone?"

We can," Raine replied. "But it's a long story."

Continue Flashback

After Hunter told everyone at Hexside the truth about the Day of Unity, the principal and staff set up a shelter for the kids. That's when the Draining Spell hit and the adults were weakened. Even after the Draining Spell stopped and the adults recovered, things got worse from there. The Collector's spies showed up and started capturing people. The Grudgby team snuck out to fight back, but it led to the staff and most of the team getting captured.

Shortly after the capture, Boscha appointed herself as the Student Body President and then two sisters named Miki and Roka arrived and became Boscha's right hands.

Meanwhile, the CATs have been searching around for survivors. The only one they could find was Alador as he was trying to hold back the spies. However, he was losing the fight until the CATs came in and saved him. Afterwards, one idea came to mind for Eda. Hexside. The group went Hexside and saw the place in total chaos. Raine asked one of the kids who's in charge, and speak of the Titan, Boscha spoke on the intercom requesting that the newcomers report to the gym.

When the CATs found out that an inexperienced child was running the place, Raine convinced Boscha to set up an election on who should rule the place. The kids all voted Eda, and since then, Eda has been watching over the students while keeping them safe and healthy.

End of Flashback

The group reached Hexside, where the Coven Heads opened the door and Raine welcomed everyone to New Hexside.

When they opened the door, the place looked less of a school and more of a shelter. All the kids seemed to be doing just fine, except for Boscha and Miki seeming very upset.

While walking along, Camila saw a bunch of kids in a classroom. One of the kids was pretending to attack one of the Collector's spies. "Don't worry, father. I'll save you."

The kid was about to throw a razor disc, when an adult took the disc from the kid. It was Lilith Clawthorne.

"No, don't use that," she said with a stern glare, before smiling and handing the kid a fire glyph. "Use this. It's much more effective."

The kid took the glyph and threw it at the fake spy. It burned to ash.

Lilith then turned out the door and saw Camila. She was shocked. "Luz? Has it really been that long? It only felt like a few months, how many years have gone by? Either way, it's amazing to see you again. I know Edalyn will be happy."

Camila was confused by this. "Uh, my name is Camila, Luz is my daughter."

"So you're her mother?" asked Lilith, shaking Camila's hand. "In that case, it's a pleasure to meet you."

"El gusto es mío," Camila replied.

The others paused when they saw Camila falling behind. They saw Lilith and she saw them. Lilith hugged Luz and was about to say to her what she said to Camila, but Luz interrupted with, "I heard you the first time."

Lilith then saw Amity, her old protoge, and shook her hand.

"I see you dyed your hair," Lilith commented.

"Do you like it?" asked Amity before seeing Lilith's orange hair in place of blue. "Speaking of, I like your new hair color."

"Thanks," Lilith replied. "And I like yours too."

After that interaction, Lilith saw Hunter. She wasn't that happy to see him as they were not good colleagues in the Emperor's Coven. They still shook hands, knowing that they're both different people and shouldn't let their past get in the way of their current situation.

The group continued on where they saw some students standing in salute in front of a stone statue of Principal Bump.

"It's nice seeing the teachers getting the respect they deserve," said Camila, before seeing that the statue shows Bump on a skateboard. "I think."

That's when someone approached Amity and hugged her. Amity recognized the person to be her older sister, Emira. Amity hugged her sister, happy to see her again. That's when she saw something she didn't expect. Emira's twin brother, Edric, came in wearing a full body cast. Amity could only stand in shock. "Oh. My. Titan!" Despite that, Amity was happy to see her siblings again. After hugging them, she got worried about her dad. "Have either of you seen dad?"

"Don't worry, Mittens," a voice replied. Amity turned to see her father, Alador, there. "I'm here."

Amity was happy to see her family again, and they all joined in a group hug. The moment couldn't last though, as a voice on the intercom asked, "Will Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf bring their new guests to the gym as soon as they can?"

Luz recognized that sassy voice the moment she heard it. "Eda?"

Meanwhile, King and the Collector flew back to the house. Once they made it, they were greeted by Odalia Blight, the worst bitch on the Boiling Isles.

"Welcome home, Collector," she greeted. "Did you have a pleasant adventure?"

That's when King's and the Collector's stomachs grumbled. The Collector spoke up. "Mamadalia, we're hungry. How about… pizza bagels?"

"Collector, I told you before," said Odalia. "I can be of much more use to you. Why don't we reshape the Boiling Isles into something bigger and better?"

The Collector ignored that. "Pi… zza … BAGELS!"

Odalia complied and bowed before walking to make some pizza bagels.

After they were done with dinner, King and the Collector headed for their room.

"Since we don't have someone to play Eda right now, how about we do something else?" the Collector suggested. "How about we play capture the flag, us against the whole Isles? We can put the losers on the moon."

"They'll struggle to breathe though," King replied.

"So they can hold their breaths," the Collector scoffed, before summoning a huge book. "Hey, King. Can you read me a story?"

King saw how big the book was but complied. He pushed the giant book open until he was on the first page. He read aloud…

"Collectors live long, we watch things pass,

To preserve, to observe, we must amass.

What flies, what swims, be it predator or prey,

Seal them up so they never fade.

King saw that the next sentence was crossed out. It read…

"But shall they meddle in our affairs,

We'll clean the planet and scorch the air."

King was about to read it when the Collector stopped him. "Don't read that part. Skip to where I fixed it."

King went farther down and saw where the Collector "fixed it". He read it.

"But playing is more fun.

Make friends instead.

The others stink.

Boo!"

Afterwards, the Collector had another request. "Can I sleep with Francois?"

"You know I only let one person hold him," King replied.

"Right, that human," the Collector scoffed. "Can he at least watch over me? I don't like being alone."

King complied and set Francois on the bedside next to the Collector. Afterwards, King left the room.

Back at Hexside, Luz, Amity, Willow, Gus, Hunter, Camila, Lilith, Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf headed over to the gym. Edalyn Clawthorne was sitting on the throne, and when she saw Luz, her heart sank. "Luz?"

Luz was overjoyed to see her mentor again. "Get over here you witch."

Eda stood up and ran to Luz. The human and the witch hugged each other tightly.

"You're back," said Eda. "But how?"

"There's a whole lot to talk about," Luz replied. "There was Belos in the Human Realm and…"

"Wait, he's still alive?" Eda interrupted.

"Was alive," Luz corrected. "Some weird psychic tried to sacrifice me to merge my world with another but got killed by Belos because he didn't want his world destroyed, and then another psychic trapped Belos in that world, so he's no longer a problem. Afterwards." She then noticed Eda's arm was missing. "Wait, what happened to you?"

"That's a shorter story," Eda replied before noticing Stringbean. "Hey, is that your Palisman?"

Stringbean revealed herself and had a small interaction with Owlbert.

Afterwards, someone cleared their throat. Luz turned and remembered there were others in the room, including Camila, who Eda never met before.

"Mama, meet Eda Clawthorne," Luz introduced. "Eda, meet my mama, Camila Noceda."

Camila approached Eda with a stern look on her face. "So you're the one who took care of my daughter all this time?"

Eda got nervous seeing how Camila was talking to her. She tried to keep a brave face. "Yeah. Why?"

"Luz told me everything about you, including your criminal record," Camila explained. "I only have one thing to say to you."

Eda gulped. "What do you have to say?"

Camila's stern glare turned to a smile. "Thank you for taking care of Luz when I could not."

"Oh," said Eda. "You're welcome. I totally did not think you were gonna talk bad about me. I've been talking too long."

After that, Luz got back on track. "We need to devise a plan to save everyone from the Archives."

"We can't head straight for the skull," said Raine. "That place is heavily guarded by the Collector's spies."

"Then how about we teleport there?" Luz suggested.

"How can we do that?" asked Lilith.

The subject did bring back some bad memories, but Luz had to bring it up. "Remember when you and I went back in time and…" she gulped. "Helped Phillip meet the Collector?"

Lilith looked away, feeling guilt about it herself. "Yeah. Why?"

"Because Phillip used a glyph combo to teleport us to the Titan's Skull," Luz replied. "We might need to do some digging into my memory to find it."

Since no one had any better ideas, they all agreed to do it.

The group made their way to the memory extraction room. Once they headed inside, Luz sat down while Willow grabbed a pair of tweezers.

"Remember, Luz," Willow instructed. "No plots, schemes, or ruses." Luz knew what Willow was saying, and she joined her as she finished. "And definitely no shenanigans."

Everyone else stared in confusion. Luz explained, "It's an inside joke."

Willow was about to start the memory extraction. Camila got nervous. "I hope those are clean."

After a bit of digging through Luz's worst memories, they found the memory of the teleportation glyph combo. Now that they got the glyph, they were preparing to head out to draw the combo.

Luz saw the look on Eda's face. It looked like a mix between excitement and nervousness. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Eda assured. "I'm just really hopeful to see King again. We'll all finally be together again."

Luz felt guilty knowing that Eda's showing all this excitement. She had to confess. "That's not a guarantee."

"What do you mean?" asked Eda.

"After we save King, I might stay in the Human Realm permanently." Luz explained. "It's my fault that any of this happened, and while I'm unsure whether I'll make this choice final or not, it might be the best option, because if I do, you, King, and everyone else will be safe from any danger I could inadvertently put you in."

Eda was shocked to hear her protege/surrogate daughter even say that. She was about to shout why Luz's logic is stupid, but that's when the wall shattered. Everyone turned and saw Miki and Roka right there. Miki cackled and everyone recognized that cackle. They realized that Miki and Roka are actually Kikimora and her Abomaton. Boscha then showed up wearing a face mask. She brought out a potion that released a smoke. Luz recognized the smell to be sleeping nettles. Before anyone could react, though, they were knocked out.

When they all woke up, they found themselves in the Detention Pit. Kikimora and Boscha dropped them in there.

"What gives, you two?!" Luz shouted.

"Don't tell me you're both working for the Collector!" Eda added.

"Titan no," Kiki replied. "The days of being an underling are over. I prefer partnerships such as ours. We need to establish our rule now, for the well being of future generations."

"I'm still catching up," said Camila. "What are they trying to do?"

"They want to overthrow me because they want power over the kids," Eda explained.

"So, in other words," Luz added. "They're just copying Belos because they have NO CREATIVITY WHATSOEVER!"

"You think I was gonna leave you here?" Kiki asked. "Well, you're wrong. I'm gonna take you all out myself."

Kiki jumped in on her mech and was about to attack. She was about to shoot, but Luz used her plant glyphs to redirect it and hit the wall. It only made a dent.

"Boscha, come on," Amity told Boscha. "This is crazy, even for you."

Boscha looked away in guilt but shut them all inside anyway.

Kiki was about to fire again, but Hunter dashed behind her and grabbed her. Willow was about to tie up Kiki, but since she was too busy holding in her emotions, she was losing control of her powers, and now she can't bring out any plants. Kiki used this to her advantage and fired a blast at Hunter, knocking him out. She then got back on her mech. Willow and Gus then went to tend Hunter while Darius and Eberwolf charged at Kiki. She just grabbed them both and threw them at Hunter, Willow, and Gus. They were all sent flying through the part of the wall that was shot earlier. Their weight destroyed the wall, separating them from everyone else.

Luz used her plant glyphs to hold Kiki back. Camila tried to draw an ice glyph, but she got the glyph wrong. This resulted in a blast that caused the ceiling to come down. Amity covered herself and Lilith in abomination goo to protect them. The cave-in resulted in them both sliding into another part of the cave. Kiki was able to break free from Luz's plants and was about to attack again. Raine summoned their violin and tried to take control of the mech, but Kiki kicked Raine and knocked them down. Eda grabbed Raine and was about to attack when Camila threw her bat, with a light glyph attached to it, and hit Kiki. The glyph activated and Kiki got blinded by the light. With that, Luz grabbed Camila, Eda, and Raine and they ran out of the cave.

Meanwhile, Amity and Lilith were in another part of the cave trying to find the others.

"Luz, Willow, Gus?" Amity called out.

"Edalyn, Raine, Darius?" Lilith called out.

That's when Boscha came down and stared at them.

"Let us go, Boscha," Amity demanded.

"I already let you go, many times," Boscha replied. "When you left the team, when you stopped hanging out with the group, when you freaking disappeared for months!"

"What are you saying?" asked Amity.

"I'm saying…" Boscha replied, staring at Amity, before getting down on one knee. "Please come back." Lilith was confused while Amity was disgusted. "The others may be gone, but we can still be a team. We can rule the school together, just like the old days."

Amity slapped Boscha's hand. "Sorry, Boscha, but I am not that person anymore. Besides, I have a girlfriend. Her name is Luz. She is a much better girlfriend than you ever will be."

Amity and Lilith walked off while Boscha was hurt by her crush's sick burn. She ran to Amity and grabbed her. "I won't let you leave again!"

"Boscha, stop!" Amity shouted. "I said no."

"Hey, Bitcha!" a voice shouted.

The two teens turned to where they heard the voice. Lilith stood there and threw a plant glyph, tapping her staff to activate it. Boscha cast a fire spell and burned the plants. Boscha then summoned a grudgby ball and lit it on fire, but Lilith cast an ice glyph and shielded herself from the ball. The ball melted the ice and extinguished the fire. Lilith saw a fire glyph on it and put an empty piece of paper on the glyph. The glyph engraved itself on the paper, and Lilith activated it, before throwing the ball back. Boscha dodged the ball before looking around and realizing that Amity isn't there anymore. She turned to Lilith with small tears forming.

"You distracted me!" she shouted. "Now she left again!"

"I'm actually right here," Boscha heard Amity reply. A huge abomination formed behind Boscha and she turned to see Amity standing there. Amity continued speaking. "I can't be who you want me to be, Boscha, but we can still save your teammates. Would you let us try?"

Meanwhile, Luz, Camila, Eda, and Raine made it out of the cave. They used invisibility glyphs to hide themselves from Kiki. Once they got far enough away, they caught their breaths, causing the invisibility to wear off.

Luz got frustrated and overwhelmed by all the negative emotions she was feeling. She threw off her hat shouting, "Damn it! My whole plan fell apart! I messed up again, and why wouldn't I? I was just a pawn in Belos' game and I was never smart enough to realize it! It's my fault that this happened! The world would be better if I literally never existed!" Everyone else stood in silence seeing Luz act this way. It worried them. That fear got deeper when they saw Luz use an ice glyph to make an ice dagger and was about to stab herself with it as she shouted, "Oh happy dagger, give me death!"

Eda was not going to let this happen. She grabbed an ice glyph and activated it. She sent an ice spike towards the dagger and forced it out of Luz's hand right as she was about to stab herself.

Afterwards, Eda hugged Luz, tears forming around her eyes. "None of this is your fault! You were tricked and someone else would've been tricked in your place! Please stop blaming yourself for all of this!"

"Eda, I'm a lost cause!" Luz shouted. "I'm the reason you used up your magic and almost turned to stone! I helped Belos meet the Collector all because I was so focused on getting home! I failed to stop Belos from initiating the Day of Unity! If anything, I'm just as bad as Belos! I want to keep you and everyone else safe while he wants to protect humanity!"

"THAT'S BULLSHIT AND YOU KNOW IT!" Eda snapped, the tears now flowing down her cheeks like tiny waterfalls. "Belos doesn't give a dying duck about humanity! He just wants to be praised as a hero! No true hero would do things as messed up as committing genocide! You genuinely want to protect people! Don't you remember? You're the reason why I wasn't turned to stone! You came to save me not for the glory, but because you care! If not for that, I wouldn't be here today! You put the needs of your friends in front of your own, doing whatever you could to get them out of their situation! You did everything you could to try and stop Belos from completing the Draining Spell! If you were really the bad person you say you are, then you would've just sat and did nothing, but that's not what you did! You got back up! Luz Brillante Noceda, you are a hero, whether you see yourself as one or not!"

Eda was about to continue when Raine touched her shoulder. "I think you've said enough."

Eda turned to Luz and saw her face. It was clear by the look on her face that she was having trouble processing what she heard. She did manage to process it, as she remembered all the good times she had with her friends and how she always stood up for them. She remembered how she always saved them when they were in danger. Tears formed around her eyes as she hugged Eda. "Thanks, Eda. I really needed to hear that. I'm sorry if I hurt you. I promise I'll try not to blame myself for anything again."

That's when they heard a noise. They turned around and saw Kiki looking for them.

Meanwhile, Hunter, Willow, Gus, Darius, and Eberwolf were searching the cave for a way out.

Hunter stood in front of everyone as he led them. After a while of searching, though, Hunter saw something that shocked him. Belos. Belos laughed as he morphed his arm into a spike and was about to attack Willow. Hunter summoned Flapjack and swung him, hitting Belos' arm. Hunter then charged towards his "uncle" and attacked him.

"Are you really gonna protect them?" asked Belos.

"Why shouldn't I?" Hunter replied. "They're good people. They accept me for who I am."

"Do they though?" asked Belos. "You are a clone after all. A clone of someone who is associated with me. There's no way they should care about you."

"You're wrong!" Hunter shouted, tears forming. "This is another one of your lies!"

"Oh, but it's true," said Belos.

Hunter couldn't take it anymore. He fell to his knees and cried. "Why did I ever believe I was accepted? I never will be?"

Everyone saw what was happening and were concerned. Willow ran to her boyfriend and hugged him, tears streaming down her face.

"But we do accept you," she said. "Who cares if you're a clone? You're still one of us, and whatever your predecessor did doesn't change who you are. It doesn't change who we think of you. It doesn't change what I think of you."

Hunter felt better hearing Willow's kind words. Knowing his friends really accept him and don't just hang out with him out of pity made him feel better. He looked behind Willow and saw Belos as he screamed and faded away. Afterwards, Hunter looked up and saw an opening. He pointed to it and everyone looked. With that, the kids summoned their Palismen, Darius made an abomination pair of wings, and Eberwolf summoned some birds to fly him out.

Once the pentet made it out of the cave, they met up with Luz, Camila, Eda, and Raine. That's when Kiki showed up and tried to attack everyone. It was difficult because she's blind, but that doesn't mean she's not a threat. Willow took flight while Gus made illusions. This dropped Kiki off guard even though she was blind. She did eventually get Willow, but Hunter dashed over to her and grabbed her.

That's when Kiki shouted, "I don't need a wretched school to start my own empire! I'll start my own, and I'll start by tearing you all piece by piece, brat by brat." She grabbed Hunter. "Let's start with this one."

That's when a flaming Grudgby ball hit Kiki's mech, causing her to drop Hunter. As it turns out, Amity, Lilith, Boscha, and the entire student body of Hexside have all arrived to stop Kiki.

"Stop right there, Miki!" shouted Mattholomule. "I always knew something was suspicious about you, and as for you, Roka, I knew there was anything but chemistry between us."

"It's a robot, Matt," Boscha scolded.

Matt shrugged, before he, Boscha, and the students all charged towards Kiki.

Amity and Lilith met up with the rest of the group and were hugged by Luz and Eda respectively. Afterwards, the group got a distance between themselves and Kiki before working on the glyph combo. They all worked together to get it done quicker, and afterwards, Luz activated the glyph.

When she opened her eyes, they were all at the Titan's Skull.

Lilith and Amity cheered that they made it to the skull.

Camila approached Hunter and said, "You really beamed us up, eh O'Bailey?"

Hunter, Willow, and Gus gasped before they and Camila cheered, "Beamed us up! Beamed us up!"

Luz saw this. "Mom, are you a secret nerd?"

Camila gasped, realizing that her secret's out. She had no choice but to confess. "Yes. I hid that part of me because I had a hard time growing up. It's… why I wanted to send you to camp. So you wouldn't be bullied like I did."

Luz hugged her mom. "You shouldn't be afraid to be yourself. Even if people bully you, us weirdos will all stick together."

Eda and the kids turned to Luz.

Amity asked, "Does that mean…"

Amity didn't have to finish that question before Luz brought out her answer. "Yes. I'm not gonna leave the Demon Realm behind. Once this is over, I'll visit at any chance I get."

Amity hugged her girlfriend, proud of her. They kissed on the lips.

Willow saw this and was happy for her friends. That's when Hunter walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her as he said, "Thanks for what you said, Willow. You mean the world to me as well. I know some might say this is too soon, but I love you."

Willow blushed, teared up a bit, and replied, "I love you too."

The two kissed on the lips. Darius saw this and couldn't help but shed a tear, while Eberwolf was crying his eyes out seeing this.

After that, everyone looked up at the castle, knowing what lies ahead.

"Alright, Collector," said Luz. "I think it's time to play a new game."

And that's the second part done.

This definitely took me a while to write. I still had fun doing it.

I decided to have Eda and some of the CATs escape the Collector and gave them more involvement so that this wouldn't be the same story. Besides, I needed to make some changes so this wouldn't feel like the exact same story.

Lilith mistakening Camila for Luz was inspired by a Moringmark comic.

To be clear, Luz is not going to die in this version of the story, so I took Luz's interaction with the Titan, and made it an interaction with Eda.

I know what you're thinking. "Without Belos in the narrative, what's the finale gonna be like?" Well, you'll just have to see for yourself.
