Day 30

For the last month I've been going through a mid-life crisis. Well I'm only nine so I guess it's a beginning-life crisis, early-life crisis? Regardless of the name of it, I've been going through a crisis.

Day 1 of training with Gai-sensei had me respecting the man and understanding why he was called "Konoha's Sublime Green Beast of Prey".

He was a true beast.

I would like to think of myself as powerful. Honestly I'm certain I'm the strongest nine year old on the planet. But when I said I didn't think anyone in the village could kill me; I was wrong …. oh so wrong.

(Flashback - Day 1 Of Training 3:30am)

Arriving at the training ground at exactly 3:30am I didn't expect to see Gai doing vertical pushups using only his pinkys.

Upon noticing me he jumped up and landed on his feet with a blinding smile.

"Hello my youthful trainee! I can feel the fires of youth burning brightly inside you from your timely arrival. Now I will only explain the training schedule once, it's very simple and it will only work for young developing bodies such as yours.

With your Uchiha heritage you will be able to withstand much more than normal. I have broke your training up into 3 phases: Phase 1 being conditioning. This phase will take up the first 2 hours of our training every morning. It will be strictly focused on getting your speed, durability, strength, and stamina up to elite levels. Phase 2 will be Taijutsu, this phase will be about sharpening up your form and footwork and also teaching you how to utilize your improved physical attributes to overwhelm elite opponents."

I was very pleased with what I had heard so far, but the evil smile that took over sensei looked grossly out of place and put a twinge of anticipation in my heart.

"Phase 3 will be me introducing you to hell through the fires of Youth! Yosh! If you are able to withstand the intensity of the radiant burning embers of youth then you will emerge a beautiful beast, one that can rely on hand to hand combat in the face of death!"

(Flashback End)

What followed was the most grueling training I've ever experienced. Keeping in mind my father was a perfectionist slave driver who led a clan full of powerful warriors with obsessions of getting stronger; that's a not easily achievable feat.

Without going into details of the hell he put me through (mainly because I found myself almost quitting more than a few times) I was now Kage level in speed and my durability was on par with elite Jounin. Sadly for some reason my strength reached a cap at low jounin because of my speedy build and my age. It was irrelevant though as I didn't need to be as strong as Gai sensei, my whole style revolves around killing not punching or kicking.

Aside from a massive speed increase and being able to withstand Kage level blows I felt like the biggest achievement of my time with Gai sensei was the sharpening of my Taijutsu. Using my sharingan I was able to copy and replicate his forms and seamlessly integrate them into my Interceptor Fist.

This was important because now if I was low on chakra and stuck in a life or death Taijutsu match it would be ugly for my opponent.

This training allowed me to use chakra weights and also now that my vacation was over I could take even higher rank assassination missions.

Of course the first mission I take will for sure be in or near the land of rain. I had to confirm some information.
