MJ Kent was different from everyone around her. Including her parents. To everyone in Smallville MJ was their daughter. When they had found MJ she was just a baby who didn't look older than a few days old. And it was just before winter hit. That worked in their favor. So everyone believes MJ is their miracle baby. She grew up having to be careful of everything she did. The only one who knows the truth is her best friend since 3rd grade is Chloe. She told Chloe their freshman year. She knew she could trust her. Now MJ was a senior in high school with her best friend Chloe. Pete had moved their junior year to Metropolis when his mom got a big job promotion. Chloe and MJ still miss him but he seemed to distance himself from the girls. MJ got ready for school after her chores wearing her painted sunflower overalls, red t-shirt, and with her blue flannel on top. She had my sunflower boots. And her hair was styled in two braids meeting into a ponytail tied with a bandana. She was excited for her first day of school vividly talking to her parents about it while eating a cinnamon roll her mother Martha made her. Hearing the sound of her best friend's horn, MJ kissed her parent's cheeks and ran out.
The girls were sitting in the torch Chloe going on about the stupid Scarecrow tradition Smallville has. MJ was looking into past scarecrows and found what she was looking for. Jeremy Creek the Scarecrow from 15 years ago disappeared from the hospital after being in a coma since. The jocks thought it was a great laugh to tie up a freshman. MJ thought it was stupid and scary. MJ didn't really care for any of the jocks. Besides Leo Lang, she's had a crush on him for years but she'll never act on it because she's the reason he's an orphan. Not to mention that the kryptonite in his ring from her home planet made it impossible for her to be near him. She's learned of her home planet in her sleep and she gets these bouts of information. She knows her name Kala El from the house of El. Her parents were Jor-El and Lara-El. She sees a past memory from when her parents said goodbye to her. Her mother cried heartbreaking sobs as laid her only child on the ship to send her away to save for. Kala El is the last child of Krypton. It upset MJ to think much about it. Anyway, back to the present the bell rang for the first period which led to our favorite Kryptonian going through her first half of the school day smoothly. At lunch Chloe and her ate in the Torch. The seniors had a 2-hour lunch hour depending on the classes they were taking. So the girls spent their lunch time working on the paper. MJ and Chloe split ways afterward. Of course, MJ bumps into Leo with Whitney. His all-American stunning head cheerleader girlfriend. Whitney was the classic blonde-haired blue-eyed beautiful cheerleader. She was perfect in every way. Bumping into Leo meant stumbling and dropping her things. Leo being the sweet guy he is helps pick up the papers she dropped effectively making it worse for her. Once it ended she knew from Whitney's look that this was the end of their encounter. Signing to herself she went on with her day. Classes were easy considering it was just intro stuff. At the end of the day, Chloe offered to take her home but MJ wanted to walk and take the scenic route. And that is where she is. She loves the peaceful atmosphere this place has. There is never much traffic going from Smallville. She liked to work on her hearing abilities and just be. She was working on controlling her hearing. She listened to a cargo truck go by and something had dropped off that she wasn't sure what but she could hear a small car coming. Before she could move to move the fall fence piece the car was too close and moving to face. I watched as the car hit the roll and swerved heading straight for her. She dives out of the way briefly meeting the eyes of the man inside. Lex Luthor was in a panic as he met the bright blue eyes of the young dark-haired girl in front of him. The young girl rolled out of the way just barely as he rammed through the railings and crashed into the water hitting his head and becoming unconscious, the last thought being the beautiful girl. MJ was quick to toss her bag and jump into the water after the man. She found him unconscious and water rapidly filling his car. She looked for a way to get in. The windshield was shattered so one push from her broke it so she could unbuckle the man and pull him to the land. He wasn't breathing when she got him to shore so she started chest compressions. When he still wasn't breathing she did mouth to mouth. That seemed to do the trick and the man sputtered up the water from his lungs. His green eyes opened to see the bright blue eyes of the girl he almost hit.
Lex Luthor stared at the stunning woman above him who peered at him with so much concern. Her bright blue eyes seemed to glow and her dark curly hair fell past her shoulder and surrounded them. Her hair contested with her fair skin. She was beautiful. A complete vision to behold. "Are you alright?" She asked if her voice was soft and melodic.
"What happened?" He asked confused
"Your car skidded off the road, you hit some debris on the road. I saw you go in and dove in after you. Can you move?" She told him moving from above him and watching him closely
He slowly moved to sit up. He had full use of all his extremities. After a self-examination, he realized he didn't even have a scratch on him.
"I'm good thank you, May I know the name of my lovely rescuer?"
MJ blushed probably for the first time in her life. Lex thought it was beautiful.
"I'm MJ, MJ Kent," She told him, putting her hand out for a handshake, Lex being the gentleman he is, took her hand and kissed the back of it.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Mj, I owe you my life."
"It's really nothing, You don't owe me anything. I just did what anyone would do" She said hastily shaking her head, "Oh I'll be right back I should go call for help. Stay right here."
She strode up the hill and Lex watched her go. She looked like she could be a farmer's daughter. Used to physical exertion. She was back quickly and then it all went by in a flash when the emergency people got here. The paramedics fussed over MJ calling her by first name so Lex knew they knew her. It really was a small town. Soon a red pickup showed up and a handsome, older man rushed out of his truck making a beeline toward MJ. That of course was Johnathan Kent, MJ's father. He hugged her and checked her over. Then he exclaimed who was the maniac driving.
"Dad calm down, I wasn't even hit" MJ sighed
"That would be me, I'm Lex Luthor. You've got quite the girl here. She saved my life. If there is anything I can do to repay you, please let me know"
Johnathan Ket balked at the last name, as most people did, and his demeanor stiffened further. He took his jacket and wrapped it around his daughter. Shielding her wet body from view before saying, "Drive slower". After he led MJ to the truck Lex's eyes followed the stunning dark-haired angel that saved him until they drove off. MJ Kent, His Angel, his superwoman.
Perhaps Exile in Smallville won't be so bad after all.
Once MJ got home Martha fussed over her superhuman daughter. After her fussing MJ went up to her bedroom for bed and couldn't stop thinking about Lex Luthor. Now that she was alone with her thoughts she couldn't help but think about how soft his lips were. MJ got out of her still-soaked clothes and into her pjs with a small smile on her face. Lex Luthor on the other hand was sitting in his study, his mind on the dark-haired angel. He is going to find out more about that girl. He was entranced by her.
