Summer has returned. The royal family was safe. Hiccup returned to his home, finding everything was still standing. Dismounting from his horse, the young man saw the small crop field healed from the magical winter. It was amazing. Opening the stable doors, he saw the few dragons lifting in excitement. Toothless leaped forward, knocking the rider down. The Night Fury began to lick the young man. Hiccup pushed the dragon off. "You know that doesn't wash out." he said wiping off the slobber. After he got as much of the drool, the rider put on his flight suit. Strapping each pad tightly. Grabbing his helmet, he thought of when his dad gave him his first helmet. A gift for all of his achievements in training. Based on a lie.
Now the old helmet was collecting dust in the homestead. Putting on the flight helmet, Hiccup climbed onto the Toothless's saddle. The two lead the dragons out of the stables, racing to the skies. They turned to the Northern Mountains. A haven where the dragons can fly freely. Far from the prying eyes of Arendelle. Flying North, the dragons and the rider were in awe of the Ice Palace. Hiccup heard of what Elsa had built using her powers, but he never thought it would be so beautiful. Flying past the mountain, the dragons glided to a small, secluded lake while Hiccup and Toothless soared through the clouds. They were flying in unison. Letting the wind blow past them, a sense of calm and peace. The young man enjoyed the sense of ease. Well, tried to, at least.
He couldn't forget what he had seen and down. He has saved the Princess and helped the Queen. The speech he told her echoed in his mind. Queen Elsa can show everyone her true self, but he still isn't. He was hiding the dragons he rescued away. Then there was the hug. He did it to comfort the Queen. She feared her power from freezing people. He did it to show her that she wasn't a danger to people. But something was nagging at him. Toothless groaned, sensing Hiccup's unease. The rider patted his friend, comforting the Night Fury.

Everyone was celebrating the return of summer. The people return to blankets and warm clothes back to the castle. Elsa smiled as she directed the movement in the courtyard. So much has happened and more was going to happen. As more smiles filled the courtyard, a familiar face caught her attention. Turning to Kai, Elsa asked for him to bring Mister Haddock over. While she guided the last of the carts of blankets to where they needed to go, the trusted servant walked over to the toy maker. The two men talked and the servant escorted Hiccup over to the Queen.
"My Queen. You wanted me." Hiccup asked. His smile sent a thrill down her spine. It was unnatural.
"Yes. I wanted to thank you for helping save Arendelle." Elsa said, grabbing a small box from a table. Handing it to the young man, opening it to find a medal. "Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third. I present you with the Medal of Valor Merit."
This medal was the highest medal that Elsa could give Hiccup. The toy maker was surprised at the honor. He looked up to the Queen, half expecting it to be a joke. But it was no joke. He tried to say something but was speechless. There was something in his eye that caught her attention. His face turned to gloom. Ashamed.
"Thank you m'lady. It is an honor." Hiccup said. Bowing down in respect before leaving. As he walked away, Elsa thought of what he said during the summer's winter. He said he knew what it felt like to fear. But how did he know?

Holding the medal in hand, Hiccup was in awe. He had never expected to do so much for this kingdom. Now walking among the crowd of people, he saw joy at the queen's return and bringing back summer. Marching along the carts of food, he saw a blindfolded Kristoff being pulled to the market. With Princess Anna pulling him. She showed him a new sled and in a moment of joy, the man lifted the princes into the air. Then let her go in a moment of awkwardness. Followed by her kissing his cheek. Then they embraced in a kiss. Hiccup chuckled seeing his friend in love with a noble. So much has changed in Arendelle and perhaps it will change further with his secret.
This will be my last update until Christmas. Then I should have a longer chapter. It'll be worth the wait. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy this story.
