Dropping down, the elevator shuddered as Izuku landed onto it. There was a large metal crate. I wonder what this will be? Hopefully not empty. When it opened, there were two attachments, which slipped into grooves on the back of the metal legs in the LEAF suit. As soon as he put them on, the elevator shuddered and collapsed, falling down a few feet before getting stuck. The voice of Andrew Fisher spoke out: "Our newly developed Pushrod Pistons to achieve unparalleled velocity." Noticing an Amrita generator, Izuku powered it, opening the door. "By energizing the tunnel rails, the LEAF suit should conduct enough energy to reach immense speeds." Jumping off the elevator platform, it shuddered and fell down the rest of the elevator shaft. I am so lucky I wasn't still on that. Turning back to the path before him. They were all powered rails, Time to test out the new upgrade! As soon as he jumped onto the rail, energy crackled around him. Supercharging him. Allowing him to run faster and longer than ever before. He didn't want to stop, as it was exhilarating, zipping through the underground rail tunnels. Some parts had given way, but his speed allowed him to clear them with ease. The natural hills made it so he could lauch into the air, and every time he landed was with a cascade of sparks, and sometimes a skid or two due to momentum. It was adrenaline filled the entire way, especially when he passed through multiple Sussurian carvings, and even passing by a massive carving of a cannibalistic head. Just as he was getting into it, he'd reached the end, with the ramp down leading to the soma reactor access on the other side. A ramp launched him up, and he was able to land safely. Breathing in, he didn't even break a sweat the entire time. "Wow... that... was the best thing I've ever done." He checked his energy level. It was max. Looking around, there was a massive hatch like thing open, allowing him to enter inside. Only one way forward. Travelling to it, he saw a sign indicating reactor access. Perfect! When he entered, Fisher's voice greeted him yet again. "That Damned Oppenheimer! A report just came in that Manhattan's first field test was a sure-fire success." As Izuku listened, he found another crate ahead. It held another power upgrade and 3 more acorns. "The explosion yeilded 20 kilotons of TNT energy. I know I can outmatch this..." Oh no... "...at greater efficiency, but time is running out." His next words were spoken faster, more authoritarian. It was his order, after all. "I am ordering a 300 percent increase in production to meet quotas for a megaton blast yield, produced in three day's time." He's getting desperate. The next words sent a chill down Izuku's spine. "But of course, our trump card lies in the Thanatos cannon prototype under development: its power unlike anything Oppenheimer could possibly fathom. With this technology, we'll become the closest thing to gods the world has ever seen!" Thanatos... the greek god of death. That cannon must utilize the same principles as the god hand... but at a much larger scale. Otherwise, why would they only have one? Thank goodness that nobody knows about that... The greenette calmed himself down. No need to worry, though. The lifeseed has to be close. Navigating this underground section, there was a vent he was able to walk through, just like at Soma proper. Drop down, head left. Then left again, and a final drop into a room. There was a massive vault door, with a console in front of it. There was another bright red button, with a convenient plaque above it: Door Controls. Pressing it, lights flickered on, a warning blared, and the door powered on, slowly unlocking as the massive pistons pushed in to connect to the door itself. Four green lights turned on as they were secured, and it slowly opened. Dust scattered into the air as the ancient mechanism whirred to life again, slowly pulling each massive metal door apart. Walking to it, Izuku marveled at the large circular room which was the reactor. In the center there was a cylindrical device reaching all the way to the ceiling. It was still active, content to keep going despite how much time had passed. How? How is this still going? To his left was a staircase lining the side of the room. Winding up towards the reactor controls. Following it, Victoria's voice interrupted his possible thoughts with her own desperation: "Fisher's all but ignoring my pleas to slow down what they're doing to the valley. We're blindly speeding past to the point of no return." Izuku was forced to jump across a collapsed section as she continued: "Edwin can see it too. The animals have all vanished or died off, trees are withering away, and the amrita swarms have become incredibly aggressive." He continued to listen, somber at the content, as he checked a wooden crate. There was another medallion inside it, bringing his collection to 5. "...and the daemons... what will happen to them?" Was the reactor killing the valley? The stairs up to the controls had broken down, but there was enough to form a ramp up to them. Gathering speed, he used the Icarus boost to get up, and continue. "With word coming over in broadcasts of victory in Europe, what's the point in this?" Victory in Europe... that means the Nazis and Fascists had fallen... it's just Japan... or the Japanese Empire left... She is right though. With Japan alone, there was little reason to need the superweapons anymore... It was then that he reached the reactor controls. Like the door, there was only a single large red button. Pressing it, it opened. The top retracted towards the ceiling, while a path extended out to the central platform. Dropping down, Izuku was brought closer to it as four large reactor shields opened up, almost blooming like a flower as they rose to the ceiling. A concrete blast shield cylinder went up, exposing the inside. There was one last beam, rising up, revealing the Lifeseed, hooked up to the reactor. It was the size of an overlarge potato, with small amounts of green moss on the sides. It glowed blue in certain spots as well. It was right here. Existing. Izuku reached out, and when he took it from the device... all hell broke loose. Alarms blared and shields raised up on all but one side. Lights dimmed, to be replaced by red flashing lights. Looking around, he ran to the opening, noticing a sign saying: "Reactor Status". They were balanced, but now one was getting lower energy outputs and the other was rising "Need" into the red. What is going on?! Running and leaping back to a previous platform, another door had opened up in the confusion. The announcer lady spoke up in a harsh voice: "Warning: Soma Reactor Deactivated. Fuel Link to Astra has been disrupted. All Area 634 occupants are in danger of LIFE EXTRACTION. Please suspend Astra operations immediately." Astra? What is that?! Falling into the hole in the floor, Izuku followed the red lights, as they only activated on clear paths. As he ran, Fisher's voice filled him in on what he was ignorant of before: "The second facility built within the valley, named Astra, works in unison with Soma." Looking ahead, he saw a shape flutter by, but it was too far away to tell what it was. "The Valley's orbs are harvested at the Astra facility, and then are cycled through the Soma Reactor to be amplified and return to Astra for weapon creation. The two facilities are interdependent on each other, like Yin and Yang, to maintain a balance." The energy is harvested at Astra, brought to Soma, amplified, then brought back to Astra... I just took out the amplifier... which means... it'll take more and more to fulfill it! It could kill off the valley... or worse, the world! As Izuku kept running, he focused on trying to get out of the facility that was quickly breaking down. Ahead, pipes had broken, and a shadow of a figure with antlers appeared on the light stricken wall. Turning the corner, he was startled as something charged at him, only to be stopped by a burst of fire from the metal pipes. When it died down, it was gone. What was that?! Either way, Izuku had to continue on. And so, he charged into the air vent, the only clear path, and continued running, hoping for the best.
