So if you're reading this you probably know the big secret this world of ours has. Monsters are real. Although for some, myself included, "monster" is a stretch. And even the big ones try to make their hunger doable without drawing major alarm and government action. The zombies eat the dying and scum, vampires drink from fetishists, werewolves go out in a secluded part of the woods once a month, you get the gist. Nobody dies and there are still enough people fooled to believe its all bullshit. Now the second kind of "monster" is the one with a weird quick that would freak out most people, but at the same time not anything dangerous. They basically blend into society perfectly while hiding the sudden fur or claws. And there are a lot of examples of that. You see, what I've basically learned is that the idea of werewolves basically extends to any animal really, and the second most popular is werecat. And that is what I am. But a very specific, strange and sometimes annoying kind.
If you thought that made no sense, I can explain. So let me understand. At night, I'm an average, kinda bland redhead, but at night I turn into a singing and dancing cat who happens to be a character from an animated movie, Cats Don't Dance to be exact. I don't know how this works, I don't how it happened and I don't know why it had to be me, but it did.
It all starts out on the week before the full moon. I work a waitress gig as usual, but SHE becomes more restless. She wants out, but knows that can't happen just yet. So there are subtler things. A more sarcastic remark I wouldn't say otherwise, coughing up hair and the occasional dance. I think my boss is starting to catch on, but that's not really important. Then, on the full moon, it really hits. The first thing to show is the tail, a big fluffy white one. And its honestly cool, pretty relaxing even. But then fur starts coming everywhere, and it itches. That's simply annoying. White fur comes out all over the edges of my face with my ears moving up to the top, now as cat ones. A big thing of fur comes right over my forehead. Thankfully size never changes so I'm just stuck as a humanoid cat instead of a regular sized one, which is weird but hey, reaching isn't a problem it would be the other way around. A pink nose shows up, my hands and feet become paws, and finally, the main personality kicks in.
At this point I feel more like a co-pilot, kinda pushed aside as the cat next to me says "Let me take charge". The first thing she does is get annoyed at how small my apartment is, not a lot of space there. So she wants out. I try to tell her that people would freak out if they saw a cat person, and she retorts that with the rise of furries and cosplay those who aren't aware of the supernatural will just think I have either amazing makeup skill or one hell of a fursuit. I don't know how she even knows that, but arguing isn't my strong suit so I leave. Usually we end up at a bar, where the inhabitants range from mildly curious to so buzzed they see no problem with the weirdo covered in fur. And she has only one goal in mind: to put on a show.
And honestly, its strange. From asking strangers to dance to plopping on the table with a new routine, I'm not sure how to react to this. But then I realized, this level of confidence, that's what I want. I play things too safe and never take a risk. But she does. And she doesn't care. Now that's great. So I think, maybe I should be like. And I don't fight her. I let it happen. And I dance. And I have a great time. So maybe that's why I turn into her. Or maybe life is just so weird that there's simply no other explanation. Either way, I've started to look forward to it. The one night where she and I are one and I'm truly free. That's the best./p
So in conclusion, I don't know why I'm writing this. Maybe I want to see if there are other people like me, people who have this (if you're a guy I'm sorry, that must be weird). Hell, maybe there's a WereDanny out there waiting for me. That would be cool. So yeah, this is it for now I guess. Time to wait for the next full moon./p
