Boosting himself up, he found that this part of the facility was in much better condition, and not in lockdowns. It was also full of prototype Amrita bombs, clearly dissassembled and in prototype stages. Fisher's voice filled his ears with glee: "The bomb... it's only the beginning. Imagine a weapon of mass destruction without the structural damage incurred." Izuku, overfilled with adrenaline after the fight, cursed the man, That's what's happening now, maniac! Your factory is dooming us all! He continued to speak as Izuku ran through the room, up the stairs, and down a broken floor. Even with the facility half destroyed it was still a threat. "By extrapolating the mechanics of the LEAF suit's God Hand to a larger scale, I have devised a weapon capable of stripping life from all cities, even entire nations, when used with the Lifeseed! The Thanatos cannon will be the optimal superweapon, rendering all others obsolete!" Well, it sounds like the only way to stop this before it kills us all. He had arrived at a locked door, waiting for amrita to power its generator. "These bombs we're all competing to produce will look paltry in comparison!" Clenching his fist, Izuku waited for the door to slowly shuffle up, and then bolted as soon as his head could clear it. What he was surprised to find was that the next room was dedicated to studying the daemons themselves... and the results horrified him. Another recording played, starting with Fisher: "August 16, 1944, the latest increase in..." However, he was interrupted by Virginia King, whose footsteps could be loudly heard in the background of his recording: "You knew about this the entire time, didn't you?!" "Ms. King, please." Her voice was pained, "How could you?! They're living creatures!" "You have no idea what's at stake here." "They're embryos, the orbs you've been using are daemon eggs!" The... orbs... are... daemon eggs?! That statement alone sent chills up his spine. How many orbs had he collected during his time here? Virginia continued, "What you're doing here is sickening!" Fisher shouted, "Guards!" before shouting in pain once before turning off the recording. This... this is horrible. I... I will get enough energy for the suit, only from things that deserve it. No more orbs. However, he couldn't focus on this for now. He'd come to terms with it later, when the world wasn't at stake. He powered the generator at the end of the room, and went through the door as it went up. As he ran through some back maintenance halls, Fisher's voice spoke to him again: "Since we had to catch the saboteurs in the act, we allowed them into Astra during the night of the attack." Izuku listened as he followed the sign saying: Thanatos cannon. Turning left, the physicist continued: "Admittedly, their plan was rather genius... since Astra and Soma are linked, they intended to fire the Thanatos cannon to Astra's thermal storage..." It was then that he arrived at his destination. "...at the Soma Facility's energy reservoir to create a feedback loop of amplifying intensity until the system blows out, not unlike a microphone and a speaker." I can finish what Virginia started... He powered the generator, waiting as it opened the massive vault doors. C'mon... It was then that he saw it. It was massive, taking up a fifth of the facility alone. Approaching the control panel, there was a place designated for the Lifeseed to be placed. Putting it in there, the hatch closed, and energy was absorbed from it. Fisher's voice spoke yet again, proud of catching Virginia: "We had temporarily removed the Lifeseed from the Soma reactor necessary for the amplification, thus creating a harmless feedback loop when they attempted to fire Thanatos. Without the Lifeseed, their plan was doomed to fail from the beginning." You almost endangered the world before me?! Are you nuts, Fisher?! "I will NOT tolerate any more disruptions! We have lost too much ground to Manhattan!" The next words killed any sympathy Izuku had for Fisher: "Operations will resume exponentially... if the orbs will not suffice, then we'll use the DAMN valley itself!" It was then that the platform the cannon was on finally reached the top of the lift, and was now exposed at the top of the mountain. The control pod turned and opened. It was large enough for Izuku's small frame with the LEAF suit. Clambering in, it closed the pod, and it aligned itself with the barrel of the cannon. It reminded him of a video game Katsuki wanted to play a long time ago, he'd shown him a scene where a man in green armor used a cannon to destroy a large portion of Mars. This same raw power was now at Izuku's fingertips. Carefully moving the controls, it sluggishly turned to face Soma. When it recognized the large Amrita deposit, it allowed Izuku to fire. Perfect! He looked around, and pushed the big red button meant for firing the cannon. They love their big red buttons... Let's save the world! And so, pylons aligned, while Izuku watched... before it fired, drawing energy from the storage. It was dragging so much, so quickly, that he could onlywatch as it, and the Soma facility's storage exploded. Wow... His victory wouldn't be long lived, as the platform shuddered, before falling back down the lift, back down to where it normally rested. Holy Shi...
