he heroine kept her word, returning earlier than the day before. She was not alone this time, as she led Izuku's mother to the room personally, the green haired woman running in and immediately hugging him tight. Her eyes teared up in joy as she spoke, "Oh, Izuku... it's actually you! You're alive!" "Mom..." he teared up, happy that she was here. This was real. He can mourn the other two realities later... This was his new reality. And he'd have to accept that. Clutching her tight, the duo cried together as they reunited. Stars & Stripes smiled as she watched the reunion from outside. She didn't just bring Inko Midoriya, but also another friend: Detective Burns. They couldn't help but smile at the touching reunion. He whispered to her, quiet as he dared. "This is why I am in the job, right here." "Agreed. Let's give them a moment before you ask." The man asked, "I know you said you wanted me to record his memories for him, but are they really that interesting?" She almost looked hurt by the quetsion, "Of course. I found him after he escaped an exploding facility. This adventure of his needs the evidence to back it up." He rubbed his chin in thought, seeing her side of the issue. "I see..." They watched for another minute, before making their presence known. Stars & Stripes interrupted them politely by knocking on the door, "Mrs. Midoriya, could we interrupt?" The green haired duo had turned to see who was there when Stars & Stripes knocked. Inko sniffled, smiling at her, "You're the hero who brought my son back to me... of course you can. What do you need?" She sighed, still smiling, before explaining: "Well, What Izuku told me was a lot, so I got my friend in the local police to come on over.. His quirk allows him to scan memories, and copy them into digital versions. We want to review what happened, and he will get a copy for his archeological report." Inko looked at her son, "Was it that important?" Izuku agreed, nodding quietly, "Y-yeah... I have more than enough for a book. Wait... is my notebook somewhere? It was in a waterproof bag." "Yeah, it should be on the table. Let me help." Stars went over and retrieved the notebook, handing over the bag to him. It was perfectly dry. Considering where she found him, it was surprising, to say the least. He carefully opened the plastic bag... and turned the pages the pages, he went through it, explaining each part. "Right, I have only until the Soma Facility. I didn't have much time after that..." Everyone looked at him. Stars already knew the answer, but the detective asked, "Why not?" "Well..." He looked at the man, "How does your quirk compile the memories?" He explained his quirk, showing a wire come from the side of his right forearm. "I can see and hear everything, but that's it." It moved on its own, "I plug into you, copy them, then copy them onto a computer. Process takes about 5 minutes, but it gives me a migraine while it happens." Izuku asked, his previous life's quirk curiosity getting the better of him here, "Despite file size?" Burns nodded in confirmation, "Yes." "Do it." After the man plugged one of his wires, tapping directly into Izuku's nervous system, he was shocked, "You went through all of that?! You're like an action star!" The heroine beamed, "That's what I said!" "Hang on..." He opened his laptop and transferred the data. "Here." He streamed it to the TV in the room. It took only three hours to watch Izuku. They could hear his thoughts as well. Inko was at first worried, then amazed, then terrified by all of the risks he took. Wonder filled their eyes as they saw him traverse the ruins, ascend to Soma, run through the rail systems to the reactor, the danger that everyone was unknowingly in, and his efforts to stop it. It was far more than anyone ever expected from him. Inko wouldn't let him go. Not even at the very end, when he fired the Thanatos cannon, and his desperate escape. The nurses and staff who saw what was going on stopped in and watched. They knew it was Izuku's memory because of Stars & Stripes telling them it would be before the discussion. "Incredible..." Stars & Stripes also hugged the two of them. "You are AMAZING, Izuku!" He couldn't help but have his face heat up with embarrassment. Everyone in the room applauded him. The detective was astounded. The kid's a goddamn international hero. He should be recognized. He glanced at Stars & Stripes. She noticed and let the single mother and child go. Wanting to speak privately, they excused themselves. "You have to get this to the president. He needs to know of what happened here. This was a dirty secret that almost killed everyone." She completely agreed. "I'll speak to him later. I have to anyway." The man nodded, hoisting his laptop in a gesture of his intention. "Right. I'll get you a copy by then." "Thanks." Cathleen Bates walked into the white house. She was ordered to come back, and carried a flash drive with Izuku's exploits in the Rockies. He was asleep by now, recovering from his trial. Knocking on the door to the oval office, she was allowed in. "Mr. President." His fish like appearance could be hard to discern, but despite his serious expression, he was completely calm. "Cathleen. Still going strong?" She nodded, "Of course." He sighed with relief, his catfish whiskers quivering slightly. "That's all I wanted to know." However, she was there with an objective. "I have something urgent though." "Oh?" "You need to see the video on this flash drive. My friend, who can digitize memories, made this copy for you. A kid went through hell to save the world, and I think it should be recognized." "Very well, let me see it." After checking if the flash drive was safe to put into the Oval Office computer, President Richardson watched Izuku's memories. His gaze sharpened and his demeanor stiffened as each scene played. "This is all real?" "Yep, completely unaltered." "The kid's a goddamn hero." "That's what I told him, sir. He's got a lot of insecurities due to his... well, quirklessness." "Quirks be damned, he did what nobody else could do here. Heroes couldn't even get close." She didn't say anything, but didn't need to. The president voiced her opinion on this delicate situation perfectly. "Cathleen, I'd like for you to ask if he wants to stay in the country. He's a bright, young mind and it would be a shame if we let someone like him stay in another country, or have him be stolen from us." Cathleen smiled, "He wants to return to the area. With a proper team. He wants to be an archeologist, not a hero." The fish man smiled, "Perfect. When he reveals his findings, then I can give him a medal, but only if he talks about it." "When talking to him, it sounded like he was going to anyway, but I'll encourage him to share his story." Nezu, principal of UA, sat in his office, sipping on a cup of tea. He observed the view over his kingdom, UA, and by proxy, the heroes of Japan. His tea was nothing special, in the grand scheme of things... Chamomile with a pinch of honey. Ah... nothing beats sipping tea on the throne of the world. He chuckled to himself, scrolling through the dark web. He was the king of information, and proud of it. Even if he didn't know something, he'd figure it out eventually. Nothing was out of his grasp... However, there were whispers of activity. Something big happened in the US, so much so that the President and number one hero: Cathleen Bates, were directly involved. Something involving those two? Interesting... I must find out more... And so, the rat set to work, hunting down his target.
