zuku was going to leave when Allmight entered the room dramatically, forcing him to move back to accomodate the number one as he leaned in ridiculously. "I AM HERE, ENTERING AS A NORMAL PERSON!" Entering fully, he continued to act the showman as he continued, "NOW IS HEROICS, 101! AND TODAY... WE SHALL BE DOING BATTLE TRAINING!" Everyone cheered as they were able to put Izuku's frankly depressing lesson behind them. It was then that Izuku was finally noticed by the exuberant blond. "AH, MIDORIYA! IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU! COULD I INVITE YOU TO JOIN ME FOR HEROICS? YOUR ANALYSIS COULD PROVE INVALUABLE!" Izuku quietly seethed, knowing full well what he was doing. Nezu must've gotten him to do this, forcing him to do more than what he realized in the contract. There was nothing stopping teachers from getting his help, and this was one such case where it would be useful. That, and he couldn't refuse Allmight in front of a class, despite his own feelings of the man. Despite that, it was ultimately alright, as he didn't have another class until last period. Putting on his best face, he replied, "Sure, if that is what you want. Lead the way." As they walked, Iida asked about the suit's specifics. Being a speed quirk user, he was of course interested in something that appeared to boost the speed of the wearer. "Sir, may I ask, what can your suit do?" Izuku was proud of being one of the few able to wear it, and listed off the features: "I can go at speeds far in excess of 60 miles per hour, when electrified, and I can go at 36 normally. It does more than that, though, and I would be happy to do a demonstration when I have free time to do so." Iida marvled at the prequirk tech. It put his own quirk to shame, if true. "I would be interested, sir." Many others who were listening in, also voiced their agreement. However, Todoroki asked, "Who made the suit?" Izuku was glad to explain, considering the maker was one you could learn many things from. Even if he was a madman... the greenette would argue you could learn more from him than anyone else there. Especially how not to act or think. "The LEAF suit was initially designed by one Dr. Andrew Fisher in 1942. He designed every aspect of the original suit and the subsequent upgrades." He seemed thoughtful, "Wasn't that during the era you just taught about?" Izuku agreed. "Yes. It was a secret government project, with this one being the only surviving suit." This piqued all of their interest. Momo asked, well aware of government policy. "Wouldn't the US government take it?" "No. That is for personal reasons, as well, so please do not ask." "Ok." She accepted that, but still looked at him with an ounce of suspicion. They then arrived at the training field. "WELCOME TO SITE BETA. TODAY WE'LL BE DOING A PARTICULAR EXERCISE: YOU WILL BE DIVIDED INTO TEAMS OF TWO, ONE OF HEROES... AND ONE OF VILLAINS." Iida raised his hand: "Sir! Will we be doing more urban based combat like the exam?" Allmight praised him for his industriousness, "GOOD QUESTION, YOUNG IIDA! NOT THIS TIME! MOST PUBLICIZED EVENTS ARE IN THE OPEN, BUT MOST VILLAINS WILL HIDE INDOORS!" That answer appeased Iida, so Yagi continued: "SO, BY RANDOM LOTTERY, YOU'LL CHOOSE A LETTER, AND THAT LETTER WILL BE HOW YOU IDENTIFY YOUR PARTNER!" Everyone understood, but Iida, studious as he asked again, "Sir, why are we going to be random? Isn't that going to negatively impact our scores?" Allmight froze. He didn't have an answer to that question... but Izuku bailed him out, "Well, Iida, most of the time you won't have the luxury of premade teams. You'll work with whoever you can to take on the threat, or, more likely, be on your own. This is to prepare you to think out of the box and think about your partner and objective as well as yourself. It's an excersize in creativity, as much as it is your own abilities. Does that clear things up?" Iida was flabbergasted, and became resolute, his respect for Midoriya increasing. He helped Allmight explain heroism in his class! "Indeed! I hadn't considered that part of the job!" The greenette glanced at him, "Well, Allmight? Are we ready to begin?" "AH, RIGHT! COME GRAB A LETTER!" The teams were settled as thus: TEAM A: URARAKA OCHAKO and QROW RAVENHOLM TEAM B: MEZO SHOJI and SHOTO TODOROKI TEAM C: MOMO YAOYOROZU and MINROU MINETA TEAM D: BAKUGO KATSUKI and TENYA IIDA TEAM E: YUGA AOYAMA and MINA ASHIDO TEAM F: RIKIDO SATO and KOJI KODA TEAM G: DENKI KAMINARI and KYOKA JIROU TEAM H: FUMIKAGE TOKOYAMI and TSUYU ASUI TEAM I: MASHIRAO OJIRO and TORU HAGAKURE TEAM J: ENJIRO KIRISHIMA and HANTA SERO I pity Iida. He tries so hard, yet got the worst pair up. I feel for him. "ALLRIGHT YOUNG ZYGOTES! LET'S SEE WHICH ONES GO FIRST... TEAM A AND TEAM D!" Yikes... To the students, Izuku wished them the best. "Good luck. All of you." Bakugo fumed at his positivity. Heh, can't even take well wishes. He'll fail in his goal at this rate. Pulling out a different notebook, he prepared to take notes. The fight was straight forward, yet both sides weren't really capable of working together. Qrow's quirk messed with the luck of those around him. It was called: Bad Luck Charm. If a person was within 10 meters of him, they will experience bad luck. If nobody is within that radius, then he will have bad luck. His outfit was simple, and casual. Suited for an underground hero. A rolled up long sleeve shirt, a set of black, fire resistant pants, and a tattered red cape. His hair was straight black, eyes vibrant crimson, and he had the unique distinction of being the youngest there, being 13 years of age and skipping a year. While he had a relaxed attitude in class, Izuku knew he understood everything. However, despite his quirk being not noticible by its nature, he did bring a weapon of his own creation: the Harbinger. It was a greatsword with a single edge. However, there was a trigger on the handle and a gearbox in the just above the hilt. And so, Izuku knew there was more to it. Uraraka on the other hand had Zero gravity. A five point contact quirk, it allowed her to appear stronger than she really was... but it was limited in range. Meanwhile, Izuku fully knew Katsuki's quirk. Iida was clearly related to Ingenium, showed in his armor and quirk. It was simple, and he could ask questions about it later, such as what he used as a fuel. The match was set, and now it was just to begin. As the two entered, he noticed that Qrow appeared to drink from a flask. "What's in the flask?" Allmight pulled up the file, and gave it to him. "Thank you." He scanned the file, until he noted one file: He has best control of his quirk after consuming alcohol. Therefore he has been allowed to be one of the few that can have alcohol underage. "Well, that's interesting. It doesn't specify, but does he get drunk? His quirk is interfered, but I wondered about if it diffuses it..." Most of the students were focused on the combat itself, but Momo glanced at the two with surprise. "Sir, is... that... what's in his flask?" Izuku spoke to her immediately, "I cannot give student details. It's against my contract." She accepted the answer and turned back to the fight. Qrow and Uraraka had split. It made sense, given the quirks involved. And so, with Katsuki splitting from Iida, it was only a matter of time until the two met with each other. Katsuki yelled a challenge, but the ravenette only smiled, drawing his blade. Flicking it downward, the blade changed position, going down and revealing two gun barrels. Interesting... Katsuki, realizing this as his opponent aimed, barely dodged out of the way. Forced into the ground, the blond growled at him as he got back up... only to get smacked aside with the blade, reset to its default position, knocking him down the hall. While they couldn't hear what the two were saying, Izuku could make out Qrow's words due to the camera angle. "You know, maybe you should swallow your pride. I bet it's more potent than that stuff you sweat." Izuku didn't need to hear Katsuki's words to know he would've been pissed. He cannot stand others talking down to him. Imagine a drunk doing the same. He charged, but Qrow was ready. His fighting style was a mix of one handed greatsword use and drunken fist, which worked well to disorient the blond while keeping him on his toes. For one whose quirk carried them through high school, Katsuki was now realizing that he'd have to think. He was the kind to use overwhelming force to win. And now, he was going to see if that principle was true. The blond pulled the pin on his gauntlet, and aimed the nozzle at the other student, who looked... amused. They gave him that... it could kill someone. "Allmight..." "I know, Midoriya." Speaking into the mic, he yelled, "STOP THAT AT ONCE, BAKUGO! YOU COULD KILL HIM!" The blond brushed him off, then fired. Everyone watched with bated breath as the camera at the end of the hall was blasted back. And then the camera recovered, with a cracked lens. Katsuki had taken a massive amount of damage, while Qrow had not. Receiving a message from Uraraka, he moved to the second floor. "KATSUKI BAKUGO IS OUT!" Iida was an easier target. Due to his monologuing and getting into character, he only focused on Qrow, who presented himself as an easy target, while Uraraka snuck around. Preparing his ultimate move, Iida was surprised, feigning anger when the ravenette leant forward slightly and beckoned him with a single finger, a sly look on his face. As Iida charged, the bluette was forced to stop as Allmight announced: "HEROES WIN!" Qrow sidestepped as Iida's momentum carried him past into a wall. When he got up, with help of his previous opponent, the foreign student said, "Good try. Just be more aware of your surroundings." Iida responded diligently, "Indeed, I shall take this as a learning experience!" He smiled, and the three arrived back, a medical robot carrying Katsuki to the medical wing. Izuku clapped as they arrived, "Good job, everyone." Allmight, meanwhile, was more focused on the learning aspect of the trial. "ALRIGHT, CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THEY DID WELL?" Momo raised her hand, and Allmight let her speak: "Well, sir, Qrow used his quirk well against Bakugo, even though it can be hard to tell when it is active." Izuku applauded her insight, "Correct. Not all quirks show their effects. Ravenholm's quirk affects the luck of those in their surroundings. Bakugo's quirk, while not based on luck, is certainly affected by it, making them a poor matchup. That, in combination with his skill... in the form of an unusual drunken swordplay style, makes him a force to be reckoned with in a 1v1 scenario. Anything else?" She continued, "Uraraka did excellent surveillance of the enemy position." Allmight agreed, "CORRECT, YOUNG YAOYOROZU! WHILE NOT REMEMBERED AS FONDLY AS THE FLASHY QUIRK USERS SUCH AS MYSELF, THOSE WHO GATHER INTELLIGENCE FOR THE FIGHT ARE JUST AS, IF NOT MORE IMPORTANT THAN THOSE IN THE BATTLE! REMEMBER, A PLAN CAN OVERCOME ALMOST ANY QUIRK, AS THEY CAN CHANGE, WHILE THE OPPONENT'S QUIRKS DO NOT. ALRIGHT, LET'S GET TO THE REST!" The rest of them ended in more predictable ways, with many based on the strength of the quirks involved, as many hadn't thought or used tactics before in combative training. Izuku, walking to the teacher's lounge, had Allmight stop him. "Look, I know you don't like me at all. But I mean when I said that I'm sorry." "Allmight... it doesn't matter anymore. Saving history is heroic enough for me. I do appreciate that you've been trying to apologize for that... when it was just you being realistic..." "You have the suit now!" Clenching the god-hand, Izuku spoke in a somber tone: "Allmight, this suit's power is really dangerous. I only trust myself to wear it, and even then... I can't risk myself dying in it. I can't explain why, as it's a secret that is just as powerful as what your quirk is, whatever it may be. I will say this about it: if I die in the suit, destroy it. Don't let anyone else have access to it. If you can promise that to me, then you are forgiven. Officially." Toshinori's eyes widened with surprise. "That serious, huh..." "It doesn't just run around and make me look good. Do you promise." "I do." "Good." Izuku breathed a sigh of relief at that. "Let's enjoy lunch then... before I have Class B in the afternoon." "Sounds good." The two entered the staff room. Izuku had homemade Katsudon, courtesy of Inko. Midnight was clingy towards him, but was soon told to knock it off by Aizawa. The staff was actually very welcoming of him, despite his quirklessness, and laughed as Izuku explained his headaches that day. Especially the stuff about Mineta and Katsuki. As he watched the scene, Izuku thought:This isn't so bad... Class B, on the other hand, was a nightmare. Many shared similar outlooks to Aldera, with the worst offenders being Togaru Kamakiri, Nirengeki Shoda, and a distinctive blond. Eventually, the greenette had to act once that same blond student said: "Quirkless can't compare to us, because they can't defend themselves." Izuku seethed, "Speaking as one, I can defend myself well enough now. Our strength comes from our mind. And since you are so confident in your advantages... which, by the way, you have had legal advantages ever since the update to the declaration of human rights in 2495, after the 4th World War, all for having a quirk... you can get a job where you aren't supposed to defend the innocent. I wouldn't trust you to save anyone, as you can't get along with other heroes, nevermind being a good presence for innocent civilians on the front line. As a teacher of UA, I am disgusted with your attitude towards heroics. Go to Nezu, you are now expelled from the hero course." Everyone was shocked, as while he said he could expell people, many thought it was a bluff. It was clear they never met Aizawa. Monoma himself stammered, his confidence completely shattered: "Y-you can't do that!" "If you think so, complain to the rat. Pack up your things and leave. You don't have the attitude to be a hero. Honestly, why UA doesn't have personality tests is beyond me. Heroes should have a passion to protect. Not act superior. It's a real problem." He watched as Monoma left, then continued "Next time you have a heroics class, I will be there. Because you are far behind Class A in that regard." Itsuka Kendo stood up and bowed, "Sir, please accept my apology for the class as class representative... I will personally deal with any other issues..." He sighed, calming down, "Please do, Kendo. I get that this is partially due to you being taught to be this way, but it is unacceptable in my class. If I hear anything along the lines of quirk superiority or quirk bias, I will not hesitate to expel anyone else, just like Aizawa sensei of Class A. Am I understood?" "Yes, sir." Content with that, he turned to his actual teaching content. I'll have to speak to Vlad King, this is ridiculous. Monoma had potential, but his superiority complex would've gotten people killed. After class he thanked Itsuka personally for what she did. "Your actions remind me of Allmight. He is humble and knows when to apologize, as well as protect everyone they can. After all, that's what you were doing, right?" She smiled, "Yes sir." "Keep being yourself." He left the room, and went home. With no other classes, he needed the time to relax and decompress before heading home.
