Yoda awoke as he heard a faint robotic beeping from somewhere outside.
He found his hut intact and his body unharmed. The former grandmaster could not sense Vader, or Sidious.
It was simply…in the end…another vision.
But what he was hearing now…was not.
Wandering outside his hut, he moved towards the noise. And as he waited behind a tree, he looked out.
An astromech, one he knew once belonged to Anakin Skywalker, was standing there. And next to him, eating rations, was a young man
And the grandmaster immediately knew it was who he'd been waiting for. The force prodigy, Luke Skywalker.
Luke paused to look around, and Yoda hid.
Before he confronted Luke, he reflected for last time. He'd been planning to reunite with him for years. To finally train the young man…the true chosen one.
It hadn't been Anakin Skywalker, as Qui Gon foretold. Dooku had been a warning about that. But he refused to believe the Sith were the only way to balance, or that the prophecy was a lie.
He may have been unchosen himself, but he accepted, he was still destined to train a last student after all.
There could yet be a chosen one.
