The tiniest of sun rays flicker through her blinds as Jill finds herself waking up. Glaring at the clock that reads five fifty-nine she groans into her pillow before turning over to wrap herself around Alice's warm body and go back to sleep. Only when she reaches out for Alice she is instead greeted with cool sheets. It's just gone six in the morning when both of them are on mandatory time off following Alice being shot after helping on a case Jill and her unit were working on. Where the fuck is her girlfriend.
It's not the first time she has woken up to find Alice missing. Alice had one told her she suffers from mixed insomnia. So, when she can't sleep Alice will sneak out of bed and find something to do instead of just lying in the darkness trapped with just her thoughts. Alice will then always sneak back into bed before her alarm goes off so they can spend the start of the day together.
Normally when Jill wakes up this early for work, before her alarm she would find Alice in the kitchen. When it's earlier in the morning Alice could be found curled up somewhere reading. At Alice's apartment, she has her study filled with books and research papers on things Jill has no understanding of but Alice seems to enjoy. When Alice isn't reading, she would be exercising. This could mean running or venting her frustration out on a punching bag.
Grumbling to herself Jill pushes back the covers and slips out of bed. Searching for her favourite blue hoodie previously owned by Alice before exiting the bedroom. She had expected Alice to be in the kitchen starting on breakfast which she always cooks for them. Maybe Alice forgot that both of them were off today. It wouldn't surprise Jill at all. She's never met someone who matches her work ethic the way Alice does. When she finds the kitchen empty, she trudges on looking for Alice.
What she doesn't expect is to find Alice sitting in the darkness on the floor next to the coffee table back against the wall with her STARS hoodie stretched out to cover her knees which are brought up to her chest. The hood up and an open bottle of vodka on the table.
"What's wrong," Jill asks eyes narrowing at the bottle but tries to keep her voice as soft as possible. With the medication, Alice is taking she shouldn't be drinking. She shouldn't be doing anything but resting in bed where Jill can keep an eye on her.
What worries her even more is the fact Alice has willingly opened a bottle of vodka.
"It's still early you should be asleep." Comes Alice's almost emotionless reply. Alice refuses to meet her eyes staring blankly off into the distance.
She knows things haven't been great between them recently. And they still have so much to talk about and work through but surely Alice knows that Jill won't leave her when she's like this. Alice doesn't even blink when she replies. "So should you."
"I'm not going anywhere." Jill reaffirms. "Now will you please tell me what's wrong." She's never seen Alice like this before. Stressed yes. Upset yes. But not like this.
Alice looks at her as she kneels down next to her taking the bottle away from her. A still full bottle thank god. It's the way Alice looks at her. The raw fear, vulnerability and pain radiating from her in that moment is more powerful and open than Alice has ever been with her. It almost leaves her breathless.
Alice has always been guarded. Never fully letting Jill in. Never letting her see this side of her. There have been moments when Jill has caught a glimpse of this side of her. All the pain she carries around with her. The way something will make her flinch or pull away. It's the small things. Things that don't mean a lot if you see them happen once. But when you keep seeing. When you do notice. It's so fucking obvious.
Jill hasn't asked Alice about it. She had almost done it before they had broken up. They had only been back together barely a week. But with the revelation of who Alice really was had her spiralling and lashing out at Alice for lying about a very large part of her past, she was hiding from her. Then everything happened with that psychopath who shot Alice to get back at Jill and her team for breaking the rules. They hadn't really had the time to talk about what happened.
Comforting has never really been her strongest suit, but this is Alice. And seeing her like this is like taking a blade to the chest. She wants to demand what happened to put her in this situation. If she says a name, she would go and beat the shit out of them for hurting Alice like this. But she can't do that. Alice doesn't need her pain or her anger right now. What she needs is for her to make her feel safe.
Sitting in front of her Jill slowly and very clearly raises her hand out towards Alice. Alice who finches at the sight of her raised hand before letting out a shaky breath and takes hold of Jill's hand bringing it into her chest cradling it like it's her only lifeline.
"I don't know how to explain it, Jill. I don't know how to explain what I'm feeling right now. All I can say is that it hurts, fuck everything hurts Jill. My heart feels so heavy that all I want to do is cry. That it feels like something is lodged in my chest and I can't fucking breathe. I feel like I'm drowning. Feel like I'm being crushed under the weight of everything. That every second of the day I'm terrified. And I hate that. And I hate this. I hate that I'm so screwed up. And you have to deal with me."
"I'm not dealing with you, Alice. As hard as it might be to believe I do care about you." She tries to joke on that last sentence. Tries to lighten the topic after what Alice just admitted to her. She wants Alice to know she isn't judging her for having a moment.
It seems however Alice doesn't pick up on the joke. She instead holds on to Jill's hand tighter. "That's just the thing, Jill. It is hard for me to believe you care. Not even a week ago you had broken up with me and blocked my number because you wanted nothing to do with me. And now I'm here in your apartment like that didn't happen. Like you didn't break my heart and cut me out of your life. Like the only reason you unblocked me wasn't because you wanted to talk about what happened or you regretted how things went down. You needed my help on a case."
Every part of Jill wants to stop Alice. Interrupt her and make her aware that what is saying is true. But she can't. There is truth in Alice's words. Jill had done all of that. Apart from the last bit. She hadn't called Alice just for help on the case. The case just gave her an excuse to call her.
Nonetheless, Jill keeps her mouth shut. Alice is opening up to her and she won't interrupt her. Alice hardly ever opens herself up like this and Jill doesn't want her to close right back up if she said anything. So, she lets Alice talk. Let her get everything out before Jill will respond.
"A case which led to me being ambushed in my hotel room and shot in the chest. Which led to him standing over my gasping body as I bled out and dipped his fingers in my blood. How he used my blood to write a message to your task force. How it was only after that we got back together."
A cold sensation creeps into her skin as the reminder of how close she was to losing Alice hits her again. Alice had gotten hurt because of her. Because she was a coward and sent Alice away. She had wanted to talk to her properly, but the case took precedence at the time. She argued with herself that she could talk to Alice after it was done. That then they would have time to sort everything out and decide what to do next.
And then she found out Alice was being rushed to the hospital after being shot in the chest. To say she freaked out would be an understatement. As Peyton drove her to the hospital all Jill could think of was every horrible thing she had said to Alice when she broke up with her. How she lashed out so venomously and Alice took all of it without argument. How even after that Alice came to help her as soon as she called.
She was beyond terrified that she was going to lose Alice forever. And even now Jill still has nightmares about it. Remembers how that man laughed over the phone. How blood there was in that hotel room. the message written in blood. How pale and defenceless Alice looked hooked up to all those machines. She can't lose Alice.
"And I can't do this. I can't be here with you acting so loving and caring and not knowing if that's how you really feel. How can you jump from one extreme to the other. It feels like the only reason you're with me is because you feel guilty for me getting me shot and if that is the case you need to tell me. Because I can't let myself trust you again. I can't let you in again only to find out none of it is real. I can't have you fucking with my emotions like that. I can't have you use me like that. I tried so hard to escape from something like this before Jill. I won't let myself go through it again. I can't let my heart be broken like that for a second time." The way Alice's voice shakes as she talks pains Jill. She never meant to make Alice feel like this.
In a way, she can see how Alice might think that Jill is only with her out of guilt. If the roles were reserved, she might think the same thing. But it isn't like that. She didn't get back with Alice because of guilt. She's with Alice because she loves her. A startling revelation she had after arriving at the hospital and the doctors talked with her about the surgery Alice was undergoing.
Was it the best time to come to that realisation. No. Definitely not. But it did so she did her best to ignore it and focus on just being there for Alice. Even now she hasn't fully processed it because Alice needs her. They need to rebuild their relationship before Jill can admit to Alice how she really feels.
"You were so angry at me Jill." Tears now leak out of Alice's eyes no matter how hard she tries to hold them back. The sight alone is enough for Jill to copy her actions. She never meant to hurt Alice like this. "But you never let me try to explain. You just kicked me out like I was nothing to you. You listened to him but wouldn't listen to me." The him in the matter is Alice's father and one of the founders of Umbrella.
He had shown up at her door one day and spilt everything about who Alice really was. That Alice didn't just work for Umbrella, but she helped run the company. That she was lying to her about who she was and how she afforded everything. Trust has always been the one thing Jill had looked for in a relationship. And to find out from someone other than Alice that her girlfriend was actively lying and hiding things from her broke that trust.
Looking back now clear minded she can see that Alice hadn't really been lying to her. Alice said her family has a lot of money and she earns a lot of money from Umbrella. That she was high up in the chain of command and didn't really talk to her father. That she didn't want to talk about her family because of bad memories.
Yes, Alice wasn't telling her everything about who she was. But trust is a two way streak and Alice just didn't trust her with everything yet. Something about Alice's past had her shutting down every conversation they would have about it.
Again, Jill had her suspicions about what they might be. But she never pushed on it.
She had every right to be mad at Alice, but she should have at least let Alice talk before kicking her out like that. She wonders what would have happened if she had let Alice talk.
Seeing that Alice is done talking for now Jill takes her chance to assure Alice of all her worries. She hurries her words out scared if Alice doesn't hear them fast enough Alice will leave her and never return. And she can't have that. "I know. I know I fucked up Alice. I should have let you talk. I shouldn't have thrown you out. I should have called you before you left for Africa. But I was hurt, and I didn't want to be hurt more. I didn't think about how you would feel. But Alice I'm not with you out of feeling guilty or obligation or anything like that. I'm with you because I care about you. I care about you so much that I can't imagine a world where you're not with me." And she really can't for those few hours she thought she would lose Alice forever were the worst moments of her life.
Even when Alice had safely got through surgery Jill had remained at her bedside refusing to leave terrified that if she left Alice alone for even a second someone would come and snatch her away. The only times she left were when she had to go to the bathroom and only then did she feel secure enough to do that if Peyton or one of Alice's friends were there and promised her they wouldn't move.
"I was going to call you when you got back from Africa I was going to apologise and do whatever it took for us to talk about what happened. But the case propped, and I thought it would be best to talk after it." Every plan she had vanished, and everything spun out of control. But they are here now. And if Alice wants to talk about it, she will.
Before Jill could go on to explain everything horrific things she felt when Alice was in the hospital and how much she wants to fix them Alice interrupts her by tugging her to sit next to her. When done so Alice then curls into her still cradling one of her hands while Jill's other arm wraps around Alice pulling her closer to her. "My father abused me." She admits quietly almost as if saying the words any louder and her father would appear and harm her again. Jill feels her stomach drop. She had suspected. The writing was on the wall for it but to hear Alice actually admit it has the raven haired woman pulling Alice closer into her embrace determined to protect her from the world.
Jill would love to do nothing more than go after Alice's father for daring to harm her. But just like before Alice doesn't need her righteous anger. All she needs is for her to sit there and listen to her. Alice is opening in a way Jill doesn't think she ever has. And she won't ruin that.
"He hurt me physically emotionally, mentally. He controlled every aspect of my life. But I got somewhat free of him." The change in name must have added more distance from him Jill realises. When she first found out who Alice was, she wondered why they shared a different last name. Now she gets why. Alice was cutting any ties she could to him. "You were the first person outside of my team and Alicia that I trusted. That I opened myself up to. And my father used that against me. Used you against me."
"Alice." She basically whimpers out.
It makes so much sense now. Jill hadn't really thought about how weird it was that Alice's father just showed up at her door and told her everything. She didn't question why he did. Now she does. He did it to hurt Alice. He used her to hurt Alice. A manipulative tactic Jill fell into.
Alice continues now shaking in her arms and all Jill wants to do is take away that pain. To relieve her of every horrid memory. "There are things that happened. Things that I have done. That if you knew you wouldn't be sitting here with me right now. And I don't think I can be with someone and be waiting for him to get angry at me again and use you to hurt me again."
Alice being with her is just another weapon her father can use against her. And emotional gun ready to be unleashed whenever she does something her father doesn't approve of. Jill presses a kiss to Alice's head swearing to herself to never let herself fall into one of the Umbrella founder's traps again. She won't be used against Alice in such a way again.
"There is nothing you can say that will make me turn away from you again Alice," Jill assures her. She is hopelessly in love with Alice and nothing short of mass genocide could probably make Jill turn away from her again.
Alice shudders in her arms at this confession. "You say that but how can I trust that." She asks quietly.
"I don't know."
Silence rings and if almost testing her words Alice admits a dark secret. "My father started to use me to further Umbrella goals when I was fifteen." Jill is confused by that statement until Alice expands. Then she feels nothing but sick. "He would book a hotel room for the night and have political figures, businessmen, anyone with power really use me as they wanted. In return, my father got what he wanted. All I got were bruises and the desperate need for a shower."
Jill feels sick. Physically sick. She knows what Alice is doing. She is choosing to give Jill a chance. She is exposing something about herself. Something she hates. Something she knows will upset Jill. And it's up to Jill on how to react. Alice is expecting her to reject her again. To go back on her words. To show Alice that she really can't be trusted.
Alice didn't want to tell her this but understood if they were ever going to work Jill needed to know. And Jill needed not to lash out at Alice.
So, Jill does what Alice lease expects. Instead of calling her all the horrible slurs she could think of Jill carefully manoeuvres them, so she and Alice are face to face. The terrible look of vulnerability and expectations of what is to come has Jill releasing a deep breath as if trying to expel all the horrible ways she could kill that man for what he did to Alice. She needs Alice to see that she means what she says. That she doesn't judge her or think any less of her for what her father did to her.
"I'm sorry that happened to you, Alice. And I don't care about that. I care about you. And I told you nothing could make me turn away from you. And I promise I meant it." She strokes Alice's cheek brushing away the tears. "I'm not going anywhere unless you order me to."
And with that, Alice collapses into her holding on to her for dear life as she openly weeps. Jill holds her whispering promises of affection. They have more to talk about but for now they can just hold each other and pretend everything will be ok.
This week couldn't get any worse. First Alice went missing. Then Jill had to face a cannibal freak wearing an Umbrella uniform who ripped her partner's throat out. She was then suspended by the police force for having to kill the man trying to eat her. Umbrella had tried to pay her to stay quiet which she told them to fuck off with and demanded to know what happened to Alice. They had left right after that and have been stalking her which given the fact Alice is still missing pisses her off even more. Then the whole city turned to cannibalism, an infection from Umbrella no doubt given how sketchy they have been. And how they locked down the entire city. Now she is trapped in a church with Peyton, a reporter, and some random guy. Oh, and did she mention Alice is missing. What is going on. What has Umbrella done now. What have they done to Alice.
Jill ignores Jerri's question about the what Raccoon City Police Department are doing about the infected instead focusing on lighting her cigarette. Seeing the camera directed at her makes her shift slightly. Alice hated it when she smoked. Hated the smell it left on her. Hated the memories it accidentally triggered. Same with drinking. Not that Alice ever said anything to her about. But she could see it. See the way the smell of cigarettes or drunk people made her freeze. Her skin growing pale. The subtle tremble of her body. The slight increase in her breathing.
Smoking and drinking were a constant reminder of her father. Of his friends. Of the things they did to her. Alice tried to pretend it didn't affect her. She never once asked Jill to stop smoking or drinking. She would never ask that of her. Her one request was that Jill didn't smoke in the apartment. She could smoke outside on the balcony but never in the apartment.
And if she came back smelling of cigarettes. Alice wouldn't say anything but find other things to do to keep some distance from her. At first, Jill didn't notice this but the longer she was with Alice the more obvious it had become.
After meeting with her father once before she can see why Alice wouldn't want to be reminded of him. And she certainly didn't want to be the one to remind Alice of that monster in human skin.
Taking a long drag she pushes down the constant worry she feels about Alice.
What Umbrella did back at the bridge was beyond monstrous. Killing innocent civilians in one thing. Making them run back to a city where they will surely be killed is another. Maybe shooting them on that bridge was more merciful. At least then they wouldn't have to feel as dozens of teeth tear into your flesh.
How does Umbrella plan on hiding what has happened here. They can't just lock down a city and not expect the media to find out. The people who went through the checkpoint will surely talk about everything that happened. Umbrella can try and contain the situation all they like but how can they contain something like this.
"The Lord's Judgement." A sudden voice echoes as what Jill assumes is the priest or minister of this church making his way up the aisle. "Behold I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, for they have not harkened unto my word, nor to my law, but rejected it." He pauses and Jill can see him a bit better now. His dog collar was dirty, his robes had seen better decades, and his hair looked like it hadn't been combed since the Clinton administration. "Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust, for thy dew is as the dew of herbs and the earth shall cast out the dead." By now in his speech, he has joined them at the front of the church. "The dead shall walk amongst the living and bring damnation unto them."
Jill has never really liked religious figures. How they always argue that every bad thing must have happened for a reason for it was all part of god's plan. If that was true what god would allow someone like Alice to suffer so much. What God would have allowed Umbrella to act as they do. What God would sit back and do nothing through all the fucked up shit happening in the world. Who would let criminals go free.
Her mother was part Jewish, but she never really cared for any of that.
Alice told her once that her godfather was a very religious man. She didn't say any more than that. But the ways she said that was weird. Especially in the context of the conversation. She never expanded on it but that memory has always stuck with her for a reason.
"That's quite a speech." Jill deadpanned eye the newcomer to their group. Having more people on their side will be helpful during an attack. The more fighters the better. But how if this turns into a fight how helpful will the priest, Jerri or the other guy be. Right now, it's only Peyton she would trust in a fight. And he's still limping badly.
Nonetheless, she will defend the three of them until the end. She swore to serve and protect, and she will do that.
"Jeremiah." The priest muttered. "The first part, anyhow. After that was from Isaiah. Not sure about the last bit."
Jerri smiled her camera pointed at the priest having recorded all of the man's dramatic appearance and speech. "Yeah, that's making the final cut." If they manage to somehow survive any of this Jill would be interested to see how the weatherwoman's documentary on when the dead came to life and tried to kill everyone.
They just have to make it out of this first.
"You are all safe in here for now." The priest says which helps to relax the other guy whose name she really should learn and Jerri. Jill has pointedly decided to ignore the way she is knocking back those pills.
"I get it now," Peyton states lowering himself down onto one of the benches.
Everyone turns to face him. Terri keeping that camera trained on him. "Get what."
Peyton turned to Jill his face softening in sympathy, and she already knows what he was going to say. "I get why Alice was so scared about what Umbrella was doing." Jill instantly looks away from the look Peyton is sending to her. That sad sorry face they all used when addressing family members of people who have died.
She can't take getting that look from him. Not now. Not when Alice's fate is so up in the air. Not when she needs to be strong to help figure a way out of this mess. She can't think about Alice right now.
Can't think that Alice might be out there wandering around searching for fresh flesh. Can't think about what she would do if they stumble upon her all blooded and ripped to shreds. Can't think about having to pull the trigger on the woman she loves.
Jerri of course doesn't get the message that Alice is s topic that is off limits. "Who's Alice." The camera snaps back to her.
When her glare doesn't make the reporter back down, she huffs out another drag. Using her frustration and anger at the situation to hide how terrified she really is for Alice. "My girlfriend. She was investigating something within Umbrella. And then..." She trails off not wanting to admit the truth.
Umbrella are capable of many things. But before this, she never would have thought they were capable of killing Alice and hiding it away.
"And then..." Jerris pushes not caring that this is clearly something she doesn't wish to talk about. Must be the reporter in her.
"And then she disappeared." Jill snaps throwing her cigarette to the ground and stomping it out. After aggressively stamping the last of the embers out her anger fades away leaving the crushing weight of worry she has been holding onto ever since she realised something was wrong. "She disappeared." She lets out a shuddering breath as she tries to push down her emotions. "And I couldn't find her."
Peyton as always is quick to support her. Only this time it doesn't feel like support. It feels like someone trying to make excuses for her. "Jill whatever happened it isn't your fault."
"That's bullshit, Peyton. I let her go back alone. I didn't push for more information. I knew she was in danger. Alice admitted that she was, but I thought that even if she was caught she would get a free pass because of who she is. I should have talked her out of it. Everything about it screamed dangerous and I just let her do it without backup or knowing anything to help her if something went wrong."
"Jill." Peyton pushes himself up onto his feet and takes a step closer to her.
However, a distant clang within the church has all of them snapping towards the direction. The red-haired man frantically looked towards the noise and back to them. The gun shaking in his hands. "What was that."
The persist had this scared look on his face before he smiled reassuringly towards them. "It's nothing don't worry about it." Jill's eyes narrow at him. Even if they weren't in the middle of a city wide pandemic and everyone was on edge that would have been just as supposes as it is now.
Drawing her gun, she and Peyton share a quick look and nod of agreement before she takes off towards the noise. The priest shouts behind her to leave it alone which in turn makes her push forward faster. He's hiding something. And this time she isn't going to wait to find out what it is someone is hiding from her.
She did that with Alice and look where they are now. She's not making that mistake again. She may not have been able to protect Alice. But she can protect them. She has too.
The two of them were sat on the sofa watching the latest episode of CSI. When the ad break came on Alice shuffled over to her a little. Her arm resting on the back of the sofa. "You know when my current assignment is over, I will technically be homeless." Alice tries to say nonchalantly but the teasing and hopeful smile on her face gives her away.
Deciding to play along Jill leans forward. "Oh really. Whatever will you do." A smirk tugs at the edge of her lips.
Alice bashfully continues. "Well, I could easily buy myself a new apartment. Or..." she draws out eyes flashing to the TV.
"Or." She pushes drawing Alice's attention back to her.
A small but bright smile graces Alice's features as she moves closer, so they are only a foot apart. "Well, you see there's this girl I'm seeing. Smart, beautiful, strong but also incredibly soft basically perfect."
Jill tries not to blush. She really does. "Oh really."
Alice leans forward planting a kiss on her shoulder. "Definitely. No question about it." Alice then moves from her shoulder to her neck planting small but lingering kisses.
Jill's breath hitches. "She sounds like a lucky girl for you to say all these nice things about her."
Alice nips at her neck one last time before resting her head against Jill's and whispering in her ear. "I think I'm the lucky one." You're not the only one.
A small chuckle escapes Jill. For how strong and cold she acts to other people. With the raw power and authority she excludes to the people she works with it was really shocking to realise that Alice is by far the mushiest person she has ever met. "You are such a sap Abernathy."
"Only for you Valentine," Alice says the words like it's a promise. A vow she is willing to take to the grave. And Jill loves that. Loves that Alice feels comfortable enough when she's with her to let all her walls down. To let Jill see the real version of her. The one she hides away in her normal life. The person she is when only Jill is around.
Alice is flirty with other people. Jill knows that. It was a part of her job after all and she's good at it. But Jill trusts her. As much as Alice flirts she only ever does it with people who know she doesn't really mean it. Like JD Rain or Megan.
When they first meet Alice was a huge flirt. Very confident and straight forward. But she prefers this version of Alice. "I would hope so otherwise you would be in so much trouble."
"I wouldn't dream of it." Alice leans in and kisses her softly. "Now as I was saying."
"Yes."
"When this assignment is over would you be willing to consider... Maybe... I mean you don't have to... I was just wondering..." And just like that all the confidence Alice had slipped away. It's amusing as it is sweet sometimes. The times when Alice is worried she is crossing boundaries or asking too much of her. And it's so sweet and charming when Alice gets herself all flustered and nervous.
But Jill is well aware of what caused that in the first place. So, she always does her best to help Alice find her voice again. The one her father tried so hard to silence. "Alice."
"Yes."
"You're rambling." She bluntly states earning a chuckle from Alice.
"I am... sorry." Alice bows her head and rests it on her shoulder. Burying herself into Jill's neck. One of her favourite places apparently.
"Your cute." Jill can't help the pure adoration in her voice. Not that she cares. It's not just Alice who grows softer around her. She turns so much softer as well. Before she started dating Alice, she always hated those couples who were sappy with each other and couldn't keep their hands off of each other. But now after being with Alice, she gets it. How can someone contain how much they love someone when they are around. Everything they do makes their heart sings and their lives so much brighter. And Alice does that. She makes Jill want to be sappy and annoy single people. Because how can they understand that a part of them no longer beats within them. That Alice is her everything. "Oh, and yes."
"Yes," Alice repeats disbelievingly. Which makes Jill laugh by the puzzlement on her girlfriend's face.
"Yes, I would be willing for us to move in together." At this point they already are. When Alice working at wherever it is Umbrella has her stashed away for most of the days she is here. Even when Jill isn't here Alice will still come here to relax. Most nights when Jill gets home, she will find Alice curled up on the couch wrapped in a thick blanket. Dinner still warming in the oven for her.
It's one of Jill's favourite sights to see. Other than Alice in their bed anyways.
"Oh... you do... Ok... Great. Alice stammers out eyes wide as her mind races to catch up with what is happening.
"Alice.
"Yes."
"Breathe."
"Ok." Alice lets out a deep breath before breaking out into the biggest smile. "Can we get a dog." She innocently asks. Alice wants a dog. Alice has always wanted a dog. A lot of Alice's old fuzzy and snug pyjamas have dogs on them. She has seen books on different dog breeds in Alice's old study. And the woman always gets so excited when she sees a dog she's practically bouncing on the spot.
And if seeing a dog makes Alice that happen she can't wait to see what Alice would actually do if Jill came home one day with a puppy.
Home. She and Alice are going to live together. To have a place of their own. A place they can call home. She can't wait until Alice's assignment is over. She can't wait until they start looking for a place together and can argue over all of the small things. How they taste will clash until they find the perfect place.
Just a few months and they will be settling down together.
Rolling her eyes at the question she rests her head on Alice's shoulder wrapping herself around Alice as CSI starts once again. "Stop talking."
